We picked EFE as d winner from day one. Not because he doesn't form or he is humble or he isn't controversial. Nigeria picked him because "Warri is the real Naija" (metaphorically)

We picked on Tboss from day one cus Romania isn't Naija. I for one always felt Tboss shouldn't be in BBN cus of the kinda person she is (she's d kind of person that works better with people she feels comfortable with, she's super neat n hygienic and those kind can't tolerate people, she's not a party person, among others). But then I realised its a fucking reality show, to have people of different standards and upbringing coming together, that was d essence all along. So I never ever hated on her. Infact, she was just great in keeping her personality real nd I learnt a few things from her.

Tboss was a victim of racial hatred, she was a victim of d same intolerance she was accused of. That lady seriously went through it all and I congratulate her for making it to d third place.
If you have time, Maybe you should head over to the bbn thread here and read the first 20 pages and see how much people like Tboss at the beginning of the program.

She was the most of liked amongst the females alongside gifty for their beauty before she started displaying her ugly attitudes.

There was no racial hatred anywhere. Or maybe you should explain why the racial hatred didn't extend to TTT and gifty who are biracial just like Tboss

Ksslib:
"Big brother is not a poverty alleviation scheme"

"Big brother is not a charity organization"

Pls and pls, I take God beg una, stop broadcasting and re-broadcatsing the above lines when it comes to Mallam Umaru Efe. It has become stale already and i believe only phoolish people still use such lines.

Note: I have not been keenly following this year's BBA, neither have I emotionally invested nada towards any housemate. Any of them can win for all I care BUT some of y'all need to cut Mallam Umaru some slack.

Saying BBA is not a poverty alleviation scheme (when it comes to why Efe should win) is plain stupid.

See, everyone has a story. This story is why some of us have people who can die for us/ we can die for. How we connect to people's story/ how people connect to ours on an emotional level forms the very basic foundation of human relationships in our society.

Big brother is a game where people vote for who they connect more with, not who is more talented or whatever. Once viewers see a housemate representing their struggle/story, it's only natural for them to draw close to that housemate. You have no right to question or mock them.

Adamu pushes wheelbarrow for a living. Adamu sees Mallam Umaru - his fellow wheelbarrow pusher - on TV, about to win 25million naira. Who do you think Adamu will vote for? Once Umaru wins, Adamu wins too, because it gives him Hope that his struggle is only a matter of time.

Abi you no support Ghana for world-cup? huh

Having your favorite housemate win is the most vivid form of fantasy that goes beyond the game. Dumb people should get this into their skull. It's basic psychology.

If people want Efe to win cos he represents their struggle, free them and shut da ffuck up. If Big brother is not a poverty alleviation scheme, well, let me also inform you, neither is BBA is a talent show.

Debbie-rise should win because she's talented abi? Well, she didn't even win the GRAND prize on a show made for strictly talented people, so what you yapping about?

Bisola should win because she can Act abi? Awww very sweet... but Thin Tall Tony could dance very well too. Dancing, just like acting, is also a talent. Many even prefer dancing to acting.

So which yardstick should we use to measure who deserves the money based on what and what not?

I mentioned earlier on that BBA as a game is designed in such a way that people will always vote for who they connect more with and not who's very talented cos its not a talent game but more of a "Who is this housemate & how do I connect with them"? kinda thing.

Thin Tall was very talented but he still went home cos viewers later hated his 'CHARCATER' / PERSONALITY. I repeat, BBA is not a talent show, never was, never will.

If I was to vote for anyone, it def will be Mallam Umaru Efe cos he represents my struggles and there's nothing to be ashamed about that. Every tori get beginning.

There's always this emotional, psychological bias ingrained in each and everyone one of us. Same reason why majority tend to always tilt towards the underdog. Why as a black man/woman, you supported Ghana against European teams during the world cup.

BBA is not a talent show. It's not an acting show. It's not a body building show. It's not a cooking show. It's also not a poverty alleviation scheme.

It's a REALITY SHOW not limited to ANYTHING.

So if one housemate does not deserve to win because it's not a poverty alleviation scheme, then another housemate doesn't also deserve to win cos it's not a talent show.

Oh... You love talented people? Cool

Well, others also love people who inspire them.

Mallam Umaru's attitude towards every task from day one echoes tales of a man who never gives up and wants to always win. He earned my respect the day he ate Ese's pant.

He knows that-- "Every win, no matter how little, is a psychological boost that gradually creates a winning mindset". I was impressed.

If I was to vote, I'll vote him cos he projects my struggle and way of thinking.

Debbie and the rest do not deserve the money cos BBA is not a talent show. Efe doesn't also deserve it cos its not a poverty alleviation scheme.

None of the housemates deserve the money since we can't yet find one fitting criteria that makes one deserving of the grand prize.... they should all go home.

You now see the stupidity, don't you?

Lastly & most importantly, do not forget to support your favorite housemate by sending me your ATM card, pin & log-in details to vote your favorite housemate on your behalf. God bless
apt

In a saner clime, Buhari should be in jail right now.

PoliticsRe: You Have No Power To Summon Me, Sagay Tells Senate by obayaya(m):
When I said Sagay should be stripped of his professorship, people thought I was being harsh..

This is from the constitution

89
(1) For the purposes of any investigation under section 88 of this Constitutional and subject to the provisions thereof, the Senate or the House of Representatives or a committee appointed in accordance with section 62 of this Constitution shall have power to -
(a) procure all such evidence, written or oral, direct or circumstantial, as it may think necessary or desirable, and examine all persons as witnesses whose evidence may be material or relevant to the subject matter;
(b) require such evidence to be given on oath;
(c) summon any person in Nigeria to give evidence at any place or produce any document or other thing in his possession or under his control, and examine him as a witness and require him to produce any document or other thing in his possession or under his control, subject to all just exceptions; and
(d) issue a warrant to compel the attendance of any person who, after having been summoned to attend, fails, refuses or neglects to do so and does not excuse such failure, refusal or neglect to the satisfaction of the House or the committee in question, and order him to pay all costs which may have been occasioned in compelling his attendance or by reason of his failure, refusal or neglect to obey the summons, and also to impose such fine as may be prescribed for any such failure, refused or neglect; and any fine so imposed shall be recoverable in the same manner as a fine imposed by a court of law.
(2) A summons or warrant issued under this section may be served or executed by any member of the Nigeria Police Force or by any person authorised in that behalf by the President of the Senate or the Speaker of the House of Representatives, as the case may require
I wonder if Itse Sagay is no longer a Nigerian in Nigeria that 1 (c) of the above section doesn't apply to him.

What a disgrace

The Senate never investigated the DSS report. The presidency did,and wrote to the senate about its findings. The senate ignored the president's assurances. Now what does that imply? That the president does not know what he was investigating?

The way some of you make one-sided comments, still baffles me.

Provided the constitution did not outlaw re-presentation,why the fuss?If I were PMB, I would just let the sleepy dog lie.Let the senate sack Magu itself shocked
Why will the Senate investigate the DSS Report? The Senate doesn't have the vast security expertise of the DSS. so why will it investigate DSS report?

And it's absurd for the presidency to investigate it too. It means the President doesn't trust the work of DSS, an agency under the Presidency. How Ironic?

The president trusts DSS when it indicts people in the opposition. When they indicted and raided Judges, the presidency trusted them. But when they indicted Magu, the presidency stopped trusting them and decided to investigate?

How Wonderful?

And for your last paragraph.. All I have to say is be careful what you wish for. Cos what you suggested in that paragraph is a total destruction of what's left of our democratic institutions.

and that's rather unfortunate

I may not know what oversight function means. But I am very sure it does not mean breaching the constitution ,by forcing or commanding a president to sack an acting head of EFCC,contrary to section 171. cool
The same constitution said the Senate must confirm certain appointees of the President.

must means that if the Senate doesn't confirm the appointee, then the appointment is null and void..

And moreover, when you consider that another appointee under the presidency [DSS Director] in lawful discharge of the duties of his office, said the appointee in question isn't fit for the role he's appointed to.

How can you accuse the Senate of complicity in such situation?

And I wonder where you got "force and commanding" from
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Naija 2017: Live Thread by obayaya(m): 4:11pm On Mar 29, 2017
Geekybabe..

Consider this....

Tboss' question and Marvis' question came after Ebuka had insinuated that Efe wasn't being real by dodging the question Ebuka asked him.

It's possible Tboss and Marvis opted to appear real by calling people out as opposed to Efe's dodgy approach.

Who knows, maybe Debbie would've done the same if she was in similar situation.

Who knows?
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Naija 2017: Live Thread by obayaya(m): 4:05pm On Mar 29, 2017
geekybabe:
Well. Efe used his kidney by being diplomatic.
Marvis did not. And one thing i know is dis, marvis would have toned down on her words if she knew debie-rise was gonna be safe from eviction
I agree Marvis should've been a lot more diplomatic.

But debie should've at least proved her wrong by having a matured conversation with her and taking lessons from whatever Marvis have to say.

At least that would've created a perception of Confidence and openness to constructive criticisms.

Now, what she did is was like shouting at someone and running off in fear of what their reaction could be..

She should've at least waited and given Marvis an opportunity to speak and apologize.
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Naija 2017: Live Thread by obayaya(m): 3:56pm On Mar 29, 2017
geekybabe:
Thanks. But there is a difference
In Efe's case, he was asked a question about himself In Marvis case, she was asked a question about a fellow housemate.
Efe was asked who was the least real housemate?
How isn't that a question about fellow housemates?
If he had called someone's name, it's akin to saying the person is fake..
Now, How different is that from what Marvis said about Debbie?
PoliticsRe: Senate’s Action Childish , Irresponsible – Sagay by obayaya(m): 3:45pm On Mar 29, 2017
Doyin2:
The president is answerable to the people as mandated in his over 15 million majority votes, not the senate. The Constitution empowers the senate to only make laws and carry out oversight functions, within the limits of the constitution.!!!!

Oversight function does not include forcing the president to sack an acting chairman of EFCC,(in breach of section 171 of the constitution), in whom he trusts to deliver his promises to the electorates!

The principles of representation should be applied in line with the constitution. The senate is representing the people,in respect of law making and oversight functions only, whilst the president is representing the people in respect of executive functions.
The Senators are a representative of the Nigerian people from different senatorial districts. And they are the voice of Nigerians in those district. And Yes, The president is answerable to the Nigerian people and by extension that Senate.

That's why the president cannot unilaterally enact decrees without first seeking the consent of the Nigerian people represented by the Senate.

That's why the president cannot spend Nigeria's money without first seeking the consent of the Nigerian People represented by the Senate and National Assembly.

That is why certain appointments by the President must be accepted and confirmed by the Nigerian people represented by the Senate.

What is oversight if I may ask?

Making sure the executive doesn't overstep. That is why some appointments must be confirmed by the Senate. If such requirements doesn't exist, the President can appoint just anybody whether qualified or not into these positions.

In sane climes, the President wouldn't dare send the name to the Senate for a second time. Doing that is akin to saying that the Senate doesn't know what they're doing.
