muykem: The senate must first respect themselves. They have power to confirm or reject but could not force president to sack any appointee no matter how. Rejecting an appointment is akin to saying the Nigerian people doesn't want the said appointee. The president is answerable to the Nigerian people and by extension, the Senate. |
Politics › Re: Senate Invites Prof. Itse Sagay Over His Comment On Delayed Screening Of RECs by obayaya(m): 3:16pm On Mar 29, 2017 |
OAUTemitayo: I think this senators are mad. Inviting Itse Sagay for making his opinion known is nonsense. His Opinion is an affront to the highest legislative institution in the land. And the fact that he works for the executive arm is more reason why he should be invited. Sagay is a professor of Law for God's sake. He understands the role of the legislature as a check to executive excesses. He should've advised the presidency to withdraw Magu's name. No matter how corrupt the Senate is.. they're the representative of the Nigerian People and the institution must be respected |

ifunayalov: honestly that is my pain. people saying they are playing pity card.are.just heartless.
these girls have been up 3 weeks non stop, that's enough heart palpitations.
secondly debie rise lost her best friend, her only sounding board when she least expected it and the very next day she is up for nominations yet again.
to further put fire, MARVIS called out debie rise on a live show that she has low self esteem, that was lower than low. it just shows the hate. if you had any humanity, call her one on one and talk to her about it not subtly try to bring her down on live TV when she is already up for possible eviction.
then to make matters worse, the clique of 4 now bring out their very vile,
hateful and spiteful selves. you would have expected that since they are the majority they would show some humanity but no they are still doing all to isolate these guys. honestly I can't stand people like this. But you guys branded Efe "Not real" when he chose to dodge Ebuka's question.. I think Debie is going about this the wrong way... The best thing she can do is meet Mavis and seek clarifications.. It'll create a perception that you can take constructive criticisms even if you don't mean it |

safarigirl: Trump did not win POPULARITY votes, he won ELECTORAL college votes. He was NOT the Popular candidate and so did not win votes by a MAJORITY. Your comparison has a major flaw that you and the other dense Efe supporters will not know because you are not attuned to world politics or any other thing that is not within your locale
Why don't you go and learn how voting is done in the American society before you come here and ATTEMPT to sound intelligent? If you were half as smart as you think you are, you'll notice that the post you quoted said nothing about Trump winning.. It only referenced the attitude of "Others" towards Trump's supporters.. Now.. Go back and read the post again.. This time slowly Modified.. Here's the post madam.. I feared you might not be able to locate it You see there's something Trump's election taught the world..
It's the hypocrisy and bitterness of democracy and how it becomes glaring when the choices available are somewhat contrasting.
Trumps campaign was filled with a lot of mud and condemnation of Trump and his supporters to the extent that it was difficult for a Trump supporter to publicly admit he's a Trump supporter pre election?
Why?
Because the liberals, the perfect ones, the politically correct ones as Clinton's supporters referred to themselves discriminated and victimised Trump supporters and labeled them stupid for having a contrasting choice and opinion.
We are seeing that again on this thread and on social media. Where the "perfect and enlightened" ones label efe fans stupid for having a choice.
it's really appalling. People are entitled to their own choices. People make their choices for different reasons. And we ought to respect that.
For Safarigirl and Setajo (I hope I got the monikers right) to outrightly label others illiterate and unenlightened is rather unfortunate. |

datribune: Any person whose moral compass is pointing in d right detection must castigate many Trump supporters whichever included d Alt-right, d KKK & their grand wizard, David Duke whom Trump was even reluctant to condemn. One can not in good conscience not do dat. What's is moral compass? The immorality of Kkk's white supremacy belief comes from the fact that a majority doesn't support it anymore. At least not publicly. 50 years ago, this same KKK's white supremacy belief you call immoral was a dominant belief in the US of A. My point? It's all part of Democracy. KKK are Americans. They have voting right. So it's right to condemn their choice because they still hold on to an a politically outdated belief? |

datribune: Not a good comparison. Trump was elected by d minority of voters. d minority will not elect BBN winner. BTW, Trump ran d most ugly & divisive campaign in modern US political history. My submission wasn't about Trump's person.. it's about the persecution of his supporters for making a choice to support him.. My point is.. you don't have to castigate someone because he chose to support someone other than your favorite. Castigating them can never make them abandon the person they are supporting. |

For Safarigirl, I am not surprised. For Setaje, well, that's surprising. She should know better than echoing and cheering someone like Jude on. The same reason why Trump won. The more people criticized his supporters about their choices, the more resolute they became. We saw that Last week.. It seemed like Efe fans were finally subdued by the onslaught.. They kinda went quiet but became a lot more resolute.. Hence the 51%. I don't know Setaje.. But I was surprised at Safarigirls submission considering she's someone I've come to respect her submissions on this forum. |

sirfee: Honestly speaking, there's nothing wrong in marinating chicken with sugar.Tboss did the right thing in a wrong way, despite the fact that I dislike her, she's a better cook. She is better than the rest housemates left in the house in cooking. She erred by preparing it without their consent, but there's nothing wrong with the method.
For instance;there is sugar in "teriyaki" marinade. Ingredients:soy sauce, water, white sugar, worcentershire sause, distilled white vinegar, vegetable oil, garlic powder and grated fresh ginger.
Another method:water, kosher salt and light brown sugar. You can also make brined chicken with honey,salt,water,2 cloves of sliced garlic, olive oil, sage leaves(I prefer rosemary leaves),and sliced lemon wedges.
If I was in her shoe, the next and the right thing to do is to serve the chicken with some lemons. The lemon will counterbalance the flavour and taste of the chicken, shikena. To make matters worse, she burnt the chicken... If you wanna introduce a new recipe to your fellow housemates, you first discuss with them.. If you don't wanna discuss with them, then make sure the recipe is flawless, inviting and tastes better than what they are used to. You don't expect people not to complain about this kind of chicken
