CelebritiesRe: Dbanj Vs Genevieve Chapter 2: When Will Genevieve Nnaji Stop Posing? by oberon(m): 2:10pm On May 08, 2010
D'banj showed very little class, why would he make a supposedly private affair a media spectacle except he is trying to get back at Genny for being scorned? I think Genny took the high road here and that she gae Debanj ample time to address the situation ,since he didnt she had to take matters into her own hands hence the rebuttal,Debanj should just suck it up.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Censored Picture Of Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey's Leg Break Against Stoke City by oberon(m): 1:23pm On Mar 04, 2010
Jesus Christ! Lawyer !! getting morbid arent we? the purpose of showing proof of a young talented player in pain,I for one canot fathom,am no arsenal fan but if you watched tha game the Stoke player Shawcross was mortifed by his tackle and the Stoke faithful gave Ramsey a standing ovation as he was being strechered off, so asaulting us with these horrific pictures is ,to me at least in bad taste, except there is something am missing.

PoliticsRe: David Ejoor's View About The Civil War by oberon(m): 4:56pm On Jun 14, 2009
Imagine what Nigeria would have looked like if the other regions had in the immediate aftermath of the july coup had stood firm against the northern leaders and said the future of the country had to be addresed but no, instead it became a debate between Gowon and Ojukwu,if the Mid West had brought to the fore the issue of the minorities as only they could at that time being the only region not controlled by a major tribe but because the man at the head ( Ejoor) was so narrow minded, pathetic,of limited stature and intelligence, and totally unaware of the core issues at stake rather than his own little rivalries against a few fellow officiers who happened to be Igbo, he sruck to a parochial view of the crises and now wants to complain, suffice to say he will fail like Banjo before him who have seen that their Northern comrades who appear to be dumb have out smarted them anrd its getting worse, with all the problems of the Niger Delta has right now and the lives being lost on a daily basis, with all the futures being destroyed this is what a former leader feels is important right now?
There is only one word fit for a man like this,an american word and while I am not given to broad usage of the american slang this word fits smugly and that word is SHMUCK.
PoliticsRe: David Ejoor's View About The Civil War by oberon(m): 4:38pm On Jun 14, 2009
It is simply amazing that the Older generation of nigerians who have held power always seem to forget that we have gone beyond the jet age and that those lies they spun no longer hold water Gen Ejoor is a sad old man who is unworthy of the name elder statesman, this is a man who as governor of the midwest region laid the foundation for the resultant crises in Warri, this was a man who was in power but stood idly by when his peers passed laws that impoverished future generations of his people through the promogation of obnoxious laws, this is a coward who kept silent and now has his children fight the battle for him general indeed, this coward now wants to deflect attention from the crisis in the Niger Delta by his recent outburst but of course his "contemporaries" know that this is a dog that can only bark but cant bite Ejoor and all others who had the oppurtunity to free the Niger Delta people especially those from the Mid West but allowed their narrow minded hatred for the Igbos to cloud their judgement should please SHUT UP!! they are not a wasted generation they are a cursed generation
Foreign AffairsRe: Barak Obama 's Inaguration by oberon(m): 12:09pm On Jan 22, 2009
Tanx Zelaw for posting the Obama article but I must add thatwe should not join Europe and the Middle East in lampoonong Bush he was in my opinon basically a good man who ruled at a very difficult period ,America was attacked not by another nation's army ,but by citizens of middle east nations with a base outside their own shores, I mean 911 wasnt Pearl Harbour what could he do? there was no precedent to guide him, it is also on reord that Presidents Bush Snr and Jr gave African Americans the highest posts before the emergence of Obama in the history of the United States,ie Colin Powell and Condeleza Rice ,and their performance in no small way paved the way for Obamas victory we must know and acknowledge our true friends George Bush gave more money to Africa than any other American President, more than Bill Clinton who we all love, finally it is on record that the Democratic party told Obama that it was Hillarys turn, and only the emergence of somebody like Oprah Winfrey despite her friendship with the Clintons , gave him the push he so desperately needed at the begining of his campaign, finally my friends let us give serious thought to how we can enthrone such a system here in Nigeria because like Obama aid his story is only possible in AMERICA
PoliticsRe: Jos Riots: Any Word From Maurice Iwu by oberon(m): 8:55am On Dec 09, 2008
when did it become Iwus job to provide security for the people of jos?or is he now the IG of Police or Commissioner of Police get real man!!! either you lack an understanding of the individual roles of government officials or are just ignorant of how the North operates in the case of the former go rad the constitution and the former take a trip down north and go get some education that way u will be able to sieve all this junk our leaders? keep trying to feed us and get to the nitty gritty of the issue at stake which is that the jos crisis is mainly territorial!!!

Foreign AffairsRe: Senate Turns Down Motion Of Commendation To Obama by oberon(m): 12:12pm On Jun 09, 2008
huhdont mind the busy body only God knows the kind of people we have in the Senate does he for one not realise that such a public endorsement is fraught with risk I mean what happens if Mc Cain wins?we would now have a man who would believe that we supported his rival, people should learn fromm history President Shagari made the same mistake when he stated that Nigeria and Africa would welcome a return of President Carter when he was up against Reagan the result?Reagan won and did not give a hoot about Africa if the senator has nothing better to say he should please shut up.
Music/RadioRe: Why Do You Buy Pirated CDs? Is It Wrong? by oberon(m): 10:51am On Apr 08, 2008
Piracy is bad because it robs the artiste of revenue however when foreign record labels make market or sales projections they never take into account sub saharan africa so there is a gap that these guys exploit I mean we have to stay in touch with the rest of the world somehow, an Uncle of mine was home last xmas and he was so busy showing off, regaling us with tales about this movie and that movie, we couldnt stop laughing when he asked why we took him to the living room ,lo and behold his precious movies in dvd for less than 450 naira I do however blanch at the idea of buying pirated works of local acts these guys work too hard and this is their base we rip them off and they are out of business ,double standards?I agree but one has to protect ones own

PoliticsRe: Senate: Need For The Creation Of Zaria, Apa And Owena State. by oberon(m): 10:46am On Nov 22, 2007
You know we really are a very peculiar people despite all the pronouncements about justice fair play compromise and the need for the country to move forward once it comes to the issue of money/resources and how to share same the knives come out.My brothers from the south west would not be agitating for more states if there werent gains from the exercise ie.ministerial, ambassadorial, quota system placement of career civil servants etc but when one places these demands against the calls for "true federalism"I really wonder if they get the point, Nigeria is the only country where in a Federal system, states and local governments collect from the center and not the other way round, I really wonder what would happen when this is corrected because it would have to be one day, with regards population the events b4 the last census are enuf for the discerning what with the refusal to allow ethnicity data 2 be supplied on the forms we lost a great oppurtunity to clear this issue up once and for all Dr Fasheun reently stated that they were 15 mil Igbos in Lagos and all over the country afta the host communities the Igbos are almost always the next largest as per the claim that the reason why they are few non Igbos in Igbo speaking areas the answer is that since the end of the war succeeding Governments have made it a cardinal objective to starve Igbo land of federal pesence and people go where they are oppurtunities so note.Lets tell overselves the truth for once please
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Why Are Nigerians So Crazy About The Premiership? by oberon(m): 10:47am On Nov 06, 2007
In a country where nothing works people turn to sports ala Brazil for real life heroes since our league is not worth the effort its only natural that the premiership would fill the void especially since its so well packaged not to mention the affinity in language does that answer your question?
PoliticsRe: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by oberon(m): 12:44pm On Oct 18, 2007
We really need to verify our factsand sieve these stories before we get carried away, for starters wasn`t Jomo the guy arrested in Angola how come he is granting interviews?secondly MEND like most guerilla groups can only operate where they know the terrain and where they have some sympathy amongst the local population, third,it would be a huge public relations blunder if they even attempted such an action you would be surprised at how quickly the tide of  public opinion would change against them and how ruthlessly the army would be deployed to the creeks if they really want to strike outside their scope of operations I might be able to suggest a few locations:
(1) A certain hilltop mansion in the North Central
(2)A very large poultry farm in the South West
(3)Some very opulent private buildings in the N-D
If they can accomplish these assignments then we can take their threats seriously otherwise let them stick to kidnapping
