DropShot:Dropshot or passingshot its quite obvious you're a paid APC Propagandist with no shame. Your fellow Nigerians are dying in hunger and you're here running your mouth. You should cover your head in shame if you still had any iota of values left. |
mfujah:Guy you must be shortsighted not to see the cabal in the electricity that has prodded government into raising electricity tariffs 60% whilst the seemingly unending issue of non availability of meters is yet to be addressed. We talk about a cabal that has been in the subsidy of fuel which needs to be eliminated. What about this cabal? Back to the story of economic palliatives, in these hard times, is it not more sensible to use 5bn to buy Keke and distribute to the poorest and provide them with jobs than to give them 5k every month? For how long will u keep doing that when as a government, you are already struggling with recurrent expenditure? Ditto the stupid idea of paying graduates 23-30k when it is in the news already that govt is struggling to pay corpers and that is why these is a delay in the mobilization of the next batch of corp members. Why not give them well supervised loans or grants to start up small businesses which would in turn create more jobs? Is that not what a progressive government will do? Instead we are talking about lending max of 50k to artisans and traders only. |
MakeWeTalk: ![]() But seriously who are we fooling? Apart from the loans to artisans and traders, the other palliatives are all wack! Instead of creating employers of labour, we are thinking of increasing our recurrent expenditure in the name of employing graduates. When states are already struggling to pay salaries. Is it not madness Why not give these graduates grants to start up SMEs like the Youwin programme did or is the government too ashamed to replicate a good programme because it came from the past administration? |
The realistic way to go is to put the horse before the cart and not the other way round. It is madness to keep incomes static, whilst increasing the tariffs of non existent electricity by 60% against court orders less than 2 months ago and then following it up with this still to be borne by the common man. Instead of the rubbish 5k per month for 1 million Nigerians, wouldn't it be more sensible to use that money to fast track the supply of electricity meters to all parts of the country such that in these hard times, people pay only for what they use? The idiotic minister for works is silent about that. Even using the same 5bn to procure diesel powered mass transit buses to subsidize the cost of transport around town would help. Don't you think even using the 5bn to buy kekes and distribute to the poorest will be more appreciated than a stipend whilst ensuring more affordable transportation in their vicinity? Talk about a clueless government!!!! |
Here in Uyo its N150-N160. I think it is fair to say from feedbacks from all parts of the country gathered is that 99% of independent marketers are definitely not selling at the approved N86.50. Obviously proves that fuel at 86.50 price nationwide is a myth contrary to Nnpc claims and that DPRis just a propaganda machine going about shutting stations when it is quite obvious that the readily available fuel from the private depots is way above 86.50. |
Should zero potholes only be achieved in uyo? What of eket, ORON and ikot ekpene? |

Moderator, FP things. Yes nobody will give GEJ 100% but we are moving in the right direction. I believe BOKO HARAM is being funded by influential northerners to destabilize the polity Nigeria does not need vision less people like GMB. A vote to GMB is a vote for Nigeria to move backwards. |

Dear Nairalanders, Leaving sentiment aside, do you think Keshi has the tactical expertise needed to manage the Super Eagles? |
Ivreke:Mehnnn you're so fvcked up. Blame players gini ? Of all the bright talents Nigeria has to offer, who chose this team? Who got them playing this boring, sluggish and tactically deficient, ideas-bereft style of football Who has the ability to change the trend of events on the pitch by a brilliant substitution or tactical instruction? Is it the player or the coach? Ike Uche got canned by Keshi for questioning this one-dimensional thoughtless style of football we play currently that has made the typical NIgerian fan start defending our games not because they enjoyed the game but because of the results we were earning then (afcon). Well, when opponents study your style of play and come up with s strategy to counter that formation, how has Keshi reason to the occasion a la Mourinho? This is why we lost to Congo in calabar. They knew what to expect and prepared and sure enough we didn't disappoint. Nigerians let's face the facts: although Keshi is a good motivator and commanded the respect of his squad, he is technically inept and is notof sufficient mental caliber to shape the super eagles into a formidable footballing force. Keshi won AFCON which is great but so also did Zambia. Question is, since then has our football developed enough since then to the extent that we show on the pitch that we are deserving African champions? Yes Keshi has built a team in his image: formidable and deliberate. Unfortunately, their inability to adapt to different playing styles and conditions and impose their kind of football on their opponents has been our undoing. Just as Keshi has been given free rein to pick his team ( For God.'s sake, why oh why is Efe Ambrose a full fledged centre back, the first choice right back for the SE? Is it that Nigeria lacks right backs both within and outside the country who can get the ball forward and actually CROSS the ball which Ambrose seems incapable of even when he gets fwd and is not faced with any opponents ) |

Lovely discussion here: guys keep it up. Just been thinking: any sane govt seeking to stimulate demand for locally produced cars can put in place measures to make local vehicles better compete with their tokunbo counterparts I.ε̲̣. Level the playing field can do tђȊ̝̊̅§ either by; 1. Putting in place strategies to make locally produced cars more affordable and accessible thaan their foreign counterparts via tax incentives, vast infrastructure revamping and financing more readily available I.ε̲̣. Making local cars cheaper 2. Admitting failure in(1) above so put govt weight fully behind local content by jacking toks car import prices up to enable already expensive local options Ђɑ̤̥̈̊√ǝ̩̩̩̥ a better chance of competing as the empowernment, enablement and govt backing needed to lower local production costs ı̣̣̣ƨ̣̣̣̇̇̇̇ simply non existent. Unfortunately, gej and team chose option 2 the lazy aPproach which ı̣̣̣ƨ̣̣̣̇̇̇̇ going to translate more into increased harship for the pple than into the benefits govt hope the pple will derive. In making prices of one (the toks option) more expensive to make the local option more desirable, govt has failed to take into cognisance increasing the purchasing power of nigerians. Of what use ı̣̣̣ƨ̣̣̣̇̇̇̇ it to make local vehicles more available if nigerians generally lack the capacity to purchase them? WIll the poor production environment even make it efficient enot to produce the so called cheaper vehicles to the best vehichle specs and standards? Why has the govt not sought to provide the all round enabling environment to stimulate local content and foreign investors without having to push the hardship button more on the people? |

Hw miuCh ı̣̣̣ƨ̣̣̣̇̇̇̇ your uk used bold 6? |
Well М̣̣̥̇̊γ̥ fellow nigerians as expected the eagles are under the cosh. For those expecting a stroll in the park for the eagles sorry Φ. The ethiopians Ђɑ̤̥̈̊√ǝ̩̩̩̥ for some time been developing a growing reputation as tHe barcelona of africa. Combine that with the massive home support, the bumpy pitch and the high altitude, then you should knw that the eagles are in for a real game. The onus ı̣̣̣ƨ̣̣̣̇̇̇̇ now on the eagles to show they are true champions and rise to the occasion. From the evidence of the first half, keshi has. To reorganize the team quickly and give a hell of a half time talk. A point from tђȊ̝̊̅§ game won't be a bad result but we certainly Ђɑ̤̥̈̊√ǝ̩̩̩̥ to up our gAme. We must stop dem playing first of all and then impose our game play on them. We Ђɑ̤̥̈̊√ǝ̩̩̩̥ the players, we Ђɑ̤̥̈̊√ǝ̩̩̩̥ the coach but we must raise our game. These days football ı̣̣̣ƨ̣̣̣̇̇̇̇ won on the pitch and not by reputation |
