mascot87:Are you from Lagos state? Do you know if I am not from Lagos state? |
PR stunt. |
I think it is safe to now say that APC is as corrupt as PDP with the amount of billions these people have stolen. This is just the report on CBN and a tip of the iceberg that has been released to the public. The real report would definitely be more damning. I wonder what would come out if NNPC, customs and FIRS are investigated ? APC na WA o!Trader mini - voicemail School feeding program - voicemail Npower - months upon months owed Conditional cash transfers - audio debt profile - skyrocketed Naira value - crashed Poverty - skyrocketed Inflation/unemployment - record levels Fuel price - Una know that one Subsidy payments- frauds |
BondRiv:I asked you earlier and am still asking you what was the cause of the conflict in the first place and how this so called peace treaty resolves same? |
sirpharrell:Armchair political analyst continue speaking Japanese. Are you saying that the so called lawmakers who defected to APC did not give any formal notice but just announced their defection to the Press? The speaker of the house as constitutionally backed by law following a court order from Rivers state High court has affirmed Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie as the the authentic, legal and only Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly. Rt. Hon. Ehie in his capacity as Speaker already declared the seats of Hon. Amaehwule and his 24 friends vacant following their defection to APC. He has equally notified INEC to that effect. |
Interesting.... Information I'm getting is that for GIGM this subsidised fare was made available initially in just 2 terminals: Jibowu and Ajah. |
BondRiv:Thank you for the information.... Now please go ahead to educate us on what the root cause of the quarrel was and what the peace treaty did to address same. What exactly led to the conflict between the 2 parties? Specifically, how are lawmakers who have formally defected to be reinstated? Is that in line with the constitution? |
BondRiv:People like who? I am just an observer abeg o. So far all the talk about the details of the truce has not come from anyone in the Fubara camp. You're talking of peace. Before you mention peace you need to answer what caused the quarrel in the first place and if the so called peace treaty has addressed that. |
simpleseyi:See this one talking tales by moonlight. Na so e dey easy to declare state of emergency? The truth shall come out in the end. This is not the first intervention by the president. |
azadus18:Have you experienced the subsidized fare? If yes please share your experience |
Dear all, let's share our experiences as per the 50% fare reduction. Has anyone experienced this yet? @mods kindly move to front page. Lalasticala

CandidAdmin:Let me ask you a question... If you have 1m in your account and Davido or Otedola asks you to borrow him 950k ... Won't you borrow him the money? People criticised Buhari because for all the debt accrued, we don't have anything much to show for it! Otti came 6 months ago and started working massively to earn the trust of the Abia people that is why they can trust him to borrow 400b because already there is evidence everywhere that he will deliver. |
adamusuleiman1: Name calling is what olodos revert to when they have nothing meaningful to contribute to an intellectual conversation. He is emulating his principal Peter Obi in running a government of service that is empathetic to the needs of his people and is striving to do his best to make his people happy but he is not doing it mindlessly as he is working with the realities on ground and I'm sure Obi has his full support. And guess what? Everyone in Abia state and well meaning Nigerians are happy with the Otti administration. If other states likewise take governance as seriously as he is doing, Nigeria will take giant strides in development with or without the support of the FG. |
adamusuleiman1:Oga sir, please try to show you went to school. In Public finance, there is budget surplus and deficit. That Obi did not borrow does not mean he is against borrowing. He was able to identify leakages in his government which freed up sufficient funds for his projects! That is why he is against wasteful govt spending like sending 422 people to COP 28! He also has kicked against borrowing to finance recurrent expenditure which is what the Buhari government was doing! Even the loans they took for Capex, how much of the funds were used justly with tons of uncompleted projects littered everywhere and massive debt accrued with little or nothing to show for it! If there is need for a business to borrow to expand then they go to the bank and take a loan. This is how banks make money to start with! Otti is just doing the same thing, borrowing to make a significant impact in the shortest time possible in resolving the infrastructure deficit of the state! |
freestuffsng where are thou ooo? Food is ready! ![]() |
Raskimonojendor:Olodo oya let me school you.... Do you know how many major markets are in ABA alone? Google 'Ariaria market' and learn a thing or two. ABA has always been a commercial town historically servicing not just the entire SE and SS regions but the whole West Africa. We have heard of shoes and clothes of international quantity made in Aba. Even with the bad roads, people from outside Abia troop in daily to their markets to shop. How much more now? Today you have Akpabio, Wike and Umahi in prominent roles in the APC administration. Go and read what they did in terms of infrastructural development for their respective states! Over the last 24 years (with little or no infrastructure and plenty of leakages in tax collection and financial misappropriation) they have been able to generate the funds you refer to because majority of the traders refused to pay due to lack of trust for their useless governments in the past. With the massive upgrades which they have prayed for now taking place, you can be sure that IGR will increase 10 times over as trade multiplies due to more conducive business environment. Not only that, new businesses will spring up and massive investment will flow into the state as savvy businessmen take advantage of the new Abia. Real estate would also skyrocket as property values will go up as roads and other facilities are provided. Also Abians home and abroad hearing the good news will also be happy to send dollars back home to aid the development effort! |
Raskimonojendor:What's your point exactly? After all na pesin talk say 'na statistics we go chop?' ![]() |
madridguy:I know that you are jealous your governor is not as committed or serious to developing your state like Otti. Confess! Don't you wish you were from Abia at the moment? ![]() |
Mordecai:Don't mind those olodos.... Peter Obi clearly advocated against borrowing against recurrent and wasteful spending in government. Trust these APC propagandists to twist the narrative. |
CandidAdmin:Who said so? That's a very stvpid comment to make otherwise why would every govt earmark funds in their budget to capital expenditure yearly? |
LegendHero:Who said Peter Obi's ideology is no borrowing? Provide that link please. |
LegendHero:I think when you try to argue please do it from an intellectual standpoint. Buhari depleted our foreign reserves and left us with a debt of almost 50trillion as at 2022FY. THE QUESTION IS WHAT MASSIVE INFRASTRUCTURE UPGRADE DO WE HAVE TO SHOW FOR THE MASSIVE DEBT HE INCURRED? Was Education upgraded? Was health upgraded? How many federal roads were completed in the 8 years? That's the difference. Otti hit the ground running. Since assuming office, he has made giant strides in digitising collections in the civil service meaning less corruption and greater accountability, he has revamped the teaching hospital, he has got rid of the massive dirt in Aba, he has turned the entire state into one massive construction site with so many road repairs underway not with mushroom contractors o! Using Julius Berger!!! So why won't the people of Abia be happy? Now he wants to consolidate by earmarking 84% to capital which will in turn open up the state to more commerce and investment making the people more prosperous. This will in turn naturally lead to more IGR. p.s. unlike some states where you have uniformed and non uniformed Agberos, ticketing for commercial operators in Abia is done electronically and is working seamlessly! So why won't the people be happy? |
People are questioning how Abia will fund a 400b budget. Of course the budget will be reviewed by the Abia H of A and modified or ratified as deemed fit. That's the beauty of democracy. Let's leave that to the Abia state ministry of finance to source but the intention is to do 50% local loans and 50% foreign. What is more important is that the governor seeks to invest 84% of his budget on infrastructure. This is a governor who came in, realizes the scope of work to be done and has rolled up his sleeves to get the major issues done. The Abian people have seriously suffered from a massive infrastructure deficit for the past 24 years. Just like Bayelsa, PDP really did Abia bad. 24% of the CAPEX will go to education and 18% will go to health. Btw of the 16% recurrent budget, please note that Otti is going to process salary increases for the entire Abia civil service reflective of the current new minimum wage and current economic situation. |

Can you blame them? Country hard for everybody! |
femisplash:If you don't understand right now the role of FX on the hyper inflation we are currently experiencing on everything and how we are progressively getting poorer by these inhumane economic policies then you really need to go for psychiatric evaluation. |
Moderate esitimate of 3b for COP 28 meanwhile the entire student loan provision in the 2024 budget is 5bn. Yeye dey smell. |
I don't know why these people just believe that Nigerians are gullible and can be told any half truth... After spending close to 6bn renovating the residences of the VP in Abuja and Lagos, is it not a case of misplaced priorities to be earmarking 15bn towards an abandoned project when that 15bn can be used to provide loans to thousands of farmers to boost food security? Why should Wike prioritize completing this structure when there are a thousand and one more pressing infrastructural projects uncompleted/abandoned from the previous regime which would be of more service to the people? Do you know what 15bn would do if earmarked to renovate general hospitals in Abuja, schools or universities? Why should this be a priority project of the country in the midst of our current austere situation? |
? APC na WA o!
