God bless you brotherly. Information is very key. Op just follow this instructions. I swear your money must drop. No need to make too much noise or argument. The only thing you'll pay for is money to post the letter of invitation by OPD to your boss. The money is like 300 naira or so. Nairalanders with genuine issues should always make use of OPD. They are very effective and helpful. Lagos state really tried for this one. They once assisted me and it was swift.

I hope say them go dey as effective this Ambode tenure as they were during Fashola's. Cos I no just understand this Ambode man.
it also depend on ''who'' is the boss if he among the choosen ones sorry bro might take two weeks at most
okon la pe jiye lan yor (many are called few were choosen) not that those that were not choosen were bad or wicked no!!!!

I dont know if this is the best platform to express myself but i just want to cry out as there is power in the social media. I am a young girl of 27 years. I live with my dad in lagos, lost my mum 10 years ago and have been sustaining the family for a while now as my dad's business collapsed due to some circumstances. I am a graduate and very hardworking, i have worked in few places in the past but i want to say i haven't been lucky.

I worked with a transport company in ikeja as at feburary and after working for 3months we were asked to stop with no pay on the note that the company was collapsing and they had no money to pay staffers. It was so painful because i live at iyanoba and have to go through a whole lot of stress and pay up to 700 a day for transport to be at work despite we worked weekends. I felt so used but prayed to God to take control and judge them.

I got another job in september at ikeja i didn't want to take it because i had my fears about salary issue after my past experience but looking at the situation at home where they depended on me for survival i had to let go of my instincts and take the job. It was very stressful, the distance, the constant work on the system and sometimes starving just to be able to save up for transport. Despite the distance i always got to the office by 7:30am to resume 8:00am so you can imagine when i leave my house.

When it got to pay time, i was told my boss travelled and there was no talk on salary till after a long while. i also want to add that on one of those occasions i was going to work i was robbed and my phones taken from me, it was so painful but then its part of life. My female boss eventually took pity on me and paid me for September, i told her i would like to stop but she encouraged me to continue with the impression that i was just tested on my patience. I continued work and now halfway into this month of November i am yet to be paid for October.

The worst part is my boss has refused to show up at work, he avoids calls and sends no message. I eventually got across to him with a strange number and when he picked he said he has a lot of issues his going through but i can stop coming to work; just like that. I asked him for my pay and he said no money at the moment i should stop.

I really feel bitter as i have no one to fight for me and worse is i have debts i incurred in the process of going to work. How do i offset them and start again when am practically cashless. My monthly pay is 40,000 and it can't be too difficult for a man his caliber to pay but i feel he just wants to cheat me knowing there is nothing i can do.

Please nairalanders what do i do? i feel so bad, i don't even know what next to do as am so confused.

Why are the employers taking advantage of the jobless graduates and using them? How bad can it be for someone not working and then after working you get tossed in the bin? I want God to intervene but i need help. Please pardon any grammatical blunders and errors, as i am not in the right frame of mind.

Thanks.
op if you stay in lagos hope you know ojuelegba/surulere area
if you get to stadium move close to the bridge as if you are going to yaba you see office of the public defenders ask of mrs A.A.O for security reason don't want to name names she is very popular, share your story with her, or her secretary miss M,O within two weeks you would get your money,

PoliticsRe: Pro-biafra Protests: Gbaramatu Kingdom Distances Self, Knocks Jonathan by obiak4(m): 7:26am On Nov 11, 2015
madjnr:
Leaders of Gbaramatu kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State have dissociated the kingdom from being part of Biafra, even as they condemned the immediate past government of Goodluck Jonathan for bringing them pains and hardship.
Speaking on behalf of the leaders at a meeting in Warri, Elder Dickson Agagha insisted that Gbaramatu kingdom will never be part of Biafra, insisting that any son or daughter of the kingdom making such a move to include Gbaramatu in Biafra will fail.
They further appealed to all youths in the kingdom to remain law-abiding, expressing hopes that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration will address the neglect and marginalisation of Gbaramatu kingdom by the immediate past administration of Goodluck Jonathan.
“The five years of Jonathan as President actually brought pains and hardship to Gbaramatu kingdom, while only his associates from the kingdom were empowered to the detriment of the kingdom.”
They said further, “We are reiterating our call on President Buhari to prevail on the appropriate authorities to embark on the rebuilding of Okerenkoko community and other communities destroyed maliciously by JTF some years ago.”

With my relationship so far with law students/graduates, coming out with first class is not really a yardstick for a successful completion of law skul! even with a 2.1 or a strong 2.2 you can still beat others that has first class at the law skul if you re serious with it.
Don't give yourself unnessary headache, keep your head high, pray, read and leave the rest to God and believe me,God will surely surprise you!
law and God are at different opposie of the divide, people should pls stop advising the op to pray or call God or jesus that will put him into even much more problem
ask peeps who graduate from law school if jesus or God has anything to do with it
FYI 80% of chief judges NJIC are member of ROF,LODGE,ECK,MIST, only ~3% are real christians

Nigerians and there 5.0 syndrome that's why we can never produce minds like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg etc

Grades is good but try to learn than to cram and come out with 5.0

Innoson is not a firstclass student but he employs first class.

Ifesinachi owns fleets of buses and still employ graduates.

Dangote is not a first class student still he imploys pHd holders.

Gani if am correct made third class and am sure thousands of first class lawyers in Nigeria today can' match his accomplishments.

Grades doesn't determine success, try learn and understand not cram by hardwork, good grades will fall in later.

I know so many first class that are jobless.

SEUN(GENIUS) is a dropout but am 100 percent sure he can feed his whole village including those with first class.

Bro don't kill yourself over a number, its just a number.

francizy:
OP, never you take the words of the ode buruku above me serious ^^^ This is because prayers and no effort will definitely lead to undiluted failure.

On the topic at hand, OP, I used to be the kind of student who reads only a few days to exams only to obtain pass grades and move to the next class. Did all that in secondary school and during my WAEC/NECO and scaled thru. This is because i had no good secondary school background and no one was there to advise me. I wasnt even given the opportunity to study, hence i made up my mind that once i gained admission into Uni, i'll study hard and obtain reasonable grades. Then as I gained admission and heard loads of stuffs about ABU and how even brilliant mind find it difficult to succeed there, talk less one who knows nothing. All that made me reaffirm my commitment to study hard in Uni.

In my 100L first semester, I read like no one ever did (even to the point I started having eye problems). All my studying was in a bid to avoid having COs (never had any till I graduated tho) and also, to graduate with a 2.something GP. Imagine the standard I set for myself just because of what I heard about ABU. Well, I had a 2.67 in that first semester (same semester was the one I studied the most in my entire life). By second semester, I was gradually grabbing things that seemed difficult in the past, I had 3.49 and my GPs afterwards were, 3.96, 3.59 (most difficult Engineering semester in ABU and after I had this one, that was when I saw the possibilities of making a 2.1), 4.53 (this one pushed me into 2.1 CGPA), 4.27, 4.44, 4.63, 4.75...

My rise to a grade point I never had in mind was as a result of my effort. Sincerely speaking, op, I hardly attended Sunday services. My lifestyle back then was the easiest to map out as some people's were triangular (church, room and classroom), some were rectangular (church, room, classroom and social center) while mine was linear (room-classroom).

What am I saying in essence, OP,

know yourself-know when you're most comfortable studying and the best environment. This is because, some people understand better when they study with music, some understand better when they study in groups, some understand better when they study in a quiet place, etc. If you're studying at a particular time and sleep calls, don't force it, sleep and immediately you wake up, pick up your books and continue from where you stopped. I'm telling you all these because the semester I studied most in the Uni (100L first semester) was the one i had the lowest GP. In other semesters, i studied and when i was assimilating less, i pack my books and looked for the nearest babe or friend to gist with. I almost often went back to my books after gisting.

Make the most out of your past questions..

Don't form big boy or big girl (humility pays), take what you don't understand to the gurus around you (I did this one a lot in my 100 and 200L.

Lastly, pray hard and study harder..
a bottle of anointed oriigin for you,
whosoever take this advice and did not get any result should know the blood of jesus has dried in his head he needs to use the blood of God,...............six book of moses

is it a government owned school or private university? .

Anyway, don't ever give up on your aim. Just take each course, each semester, each session one at a time. And don't allow the bigger goal of first class grades affect your psyche too much to the extent you become disinterested in your course should you fall short.

Don't mean to discourage you but, getting first class is a very tall order in a course like law in Nigeria.

Besides, it's not about first class grade but about first class abilities.

my opinion though,
anything is possible if you set your mind @ it
op focus on what u want and work for it if you get to your goal good if you don't best,@ least it will save you from regrets latter in life
way way back in sch i started with 2.50 but still made distinction 4.00 so anything is possible
