@Nchara, agreed my english is second rate but is definitely better than the Dame's ![]() I think i'm wrong classifying her problem as 'poor communication skill' , it's isn't it is simply ' inability to speak the language' ![]() |
I was watching NTA internatonal yesterday when i saw the first lady addressing journalists on the achievements of the falconets who were beaten finalists in the just concluded FIFA under 19 female world cup. I was shocked when she said amidst glee'' Yes we are all happy for their effort, it is not easy to carry second in an international competition like this one''. This is not the first time she's blundering on national television agreed english is not our language but common, methink she needs english tutorials. ![]() |
For me trad, em 'Elewe ukwu' - TJ And for me white it'll be 'Oruka'- Sunny Neji Or PSquare - 'No one like u' |
otawa:Noted, u're right about the mohican history i know all about dat, i was just trying to pass a message with it. POC, i wasn't trying to copy the west, i'm proud of 9ja anyday anywhere be it here( N.America) or elsewhere. |
It is on record this dogged fighter made the first audacious move by proposing a motion of self rule in 1956. It is still on record that he is still fighting for a soveriegn national conference for all stakeholders(ethnic nationalities) to a roundatable to forge a way of resolving the nation's teething problems. And it appears he is the last of his era still living, taking a quick roll call: Herbert Samuel Heelas Macaulay, Nnamdi Benjamin Azikiwe, Obafemi Jeremiah Oyeniyi Awolowo, Samuel Ladoke Akintola, Michael Iheonukara Okpara, Hassan Usman Katsina, Aminu Kano, Ahmadu Bello, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, i could go on and on, This is saying long live 'THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS', |
It's only natural that he'll be attacked for saying this, Whether he is an Igbo hater i don't know about that, but things haven't gotten to the level where a state of emergency has to be declared in the whole geo-political zone! |
princewell:Yeah i think i agree with u on this one; strenght, speed, flexibility and balance after execution, Jean Claude fares better. Have a nice day too |
mikeansy:U're correct Alechenu is Tiv not Idoma |
mikeansy:I agree with that of Amaechi but Mark? Alechenu is an idoma name and Mark himself is Idoma ![]() |
mikeansy:Well OBJ's case is different, all the above names are actually his names. If you read his book My commands u'll know this. I think i agree with your assertion that it's not correct to address him the president with his fond name in public. That's what i think the 'AZIKIWE' in his name is, a fond name. But being that the name is associated with a great man now makes it a non issue. Because i still believe Azikiwe is not President GEJ real name. |
mikeansy:I don't have the link to the video but from what ilugunboy said @ least that makes us two ilugunboy: |
Watching the films of the both actors(of Belgian and British descent) I find it difficult to see who does the rotational 360 karate kick better. Van Damme to me is a better fighter(not taking anything away from Jason), but when it comes to the kick both of them are just too much that i find it hard to know who does it better.

Some weeks back, i was watching cable television where i saw the minister of information and communications, Prof Dora Akunyili addressing correspondents after a FEC meeting when she referred to the President as Goodluck Ebele 'Azikiwe' Jonathan. I was suprised and laughed afterwards cos it was funny. Why is he being associated with a host of igbo names? I stand to be corrected, his name is not Azikiwe so why would Dora call him dat on national television? Except he adopted the name of late, |
Any true Anioma indigene knows that Ovie Omo-Agege is not an anioma name, sounds to me like Urhobo. Anioma people have a long wait to have a true son of theirs as governor and 2011 is definitely too early going by the agressive campaign embarked by the incumbent(Uduaghan). The wait may be compared to that of the african americans before Obama came. Last week, Anioma elders led by the Asagba of Asaba, Prof Chike Edozien were in the state house to see President GEJ over the possibility of the creation of Anioma state. That to me is more realistic that struggling to produce a governor which may never be in the near future bearing in mind d stronghold the Urhobos and Itshekiris have vis a vis dat of the Igbo in delta state. |

INEC : Jonathan makes U-turn From MODESTUS CHUKWULAKA, Abuja Wednesday, May 12, 2010 Photo: Sun News Publishing More Stories on This Section President Goodluck Jonathan has stepped into the stalemate at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as he reversed his earlier order, directing that the most senior national commissioner take over from retiring Prof. Maurice Iwu in acting capacity. Jonathan, on Monday night wrote a letter to Prince Adedeji Soyebi, appointing him Acting Chairman of the commission instead of Mr. Philip Umeadi (Jr) who was the superior of the two surviving national commissioners. Jonathan also reversed the earler presidential order which hitherto sent Mr. Victor Chukwuani, another National Commissioner on compulsory pre-retirement leave. Chukwuani had been asked to return to INEC “to complete his tenure which has not expired.” Daily Sun learnt that the letters approving Soyebi and reinstating Chukwuani were signed by Yayale Ahmed, Secretary to the Federal Government and copied to INEC Secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi Kaugama. Besides the intrigues and the politicking that have trailed the leadership of the electoral body since Iwu was forced into pre-disengagement leave, a forthnight ago, the presidency was said to have considered the respective ages of Soyebi and Umeadi while settling for an acting INEC chief. Born in October 21, 1963, Umeadi is 46 years now. The minimum age requirement for INEC Chairman is 50. He obtained his LLB in 1990 after spending six years, for a five-year course, an extra one year at the University of Benin Law Faculty. Hmmm, didn't know age requirement is a pre-requisite for becoming INEC chairman. |
First it was N'abania, and since then he's been movin' on strong even with an Hip Hop award winning collabo with Mc Loph of the late highlife maestro's evergreen hit 'osondi owendi'. Now he's out with another bang. I love this guys vocal ability and hid dexterity in the use of igbo language in his songs. Here's a new video 'oyi' from his recently launched album 'Uplifted'. Shot in Ghana, The U.K, Brazil and 9ja. Directed by Bobby Ohai https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZuhPe5FiLo

I feel this guy is getting better day by day. From the N'abania days, all thru de others then his collabo with MC Loph in late Osadebe's hit 'Osondi Owendi' where he shone like a million stars with his excellent use of Igbo coupled with his sonorous vocal ability, u can hardly resist listening to him. Here is his new video 'Oyi', nice video shot in Ghana, Brazil, and 9ja. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZuhPe5FiLo&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZuhPe5FiLo&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> |

There's only one viable option for the Prof; To head back to the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Nigeria, Nsukka where until my final year his office was intact and the sign name on the door still read ''Prof C.C Soludo''. Even if it has been allocated to someone else, he sure will qualify as the dean of the faculty or some other position in the university. There is a clear distinction between academia and politics, the Prof refused to see this even with his reputation at stake! |
9ijaprince:Dude, t'was Vals day he just took his wifey and son out, don't think it was a bad idea. It was just unfortunate that those unscruplous elements were on a deadly mission which claimed his life. So sad ![]() g1:Same for me too, i can't forget his name from AIT news reports. |
I TRUST YOU is a better compliment than I LOVE YOU because you may not always TRUST those you LOVE, but you can always LOVE those you TRUST. Reflect on the above especially the bold part. |
Lyrically, both are good but the thing there is the appeal. Asa's blend with indigenous language(yoruba) and her mastery of it in her songs endears her to the people here and even outside here. Nneka is undoubtebly a good artiste, with a more international appeal (basically because of her european upbringing)and less of home appeal. This is where Asa holds sway. |
I heard him first in 'Okpomekwe' with Desperate Chicks, then in Dekumzy's 'Who get that thing'. All dis while i mistook him for Nigga Raw, they sound kind of similar just like Ja Rule and DMX back then. As for whether he's 9ja's Jeffery Attikins, well ![]() |
Journalist stabbed to death in front of wife, son -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By Ozioma Ubabukoh and Olusola Fabiyi A former Senate correspondent of Africa Independent Television, Mr. Efenji Efenji, was on Sunday stabbed to death while celebrating the Valentine with his wife and son at Oakland Garden, Karu, a suburb in Abuja. According to an eyewitness, a fight ensued when the late radio presenter of Political Platform on Ray Power 100.5 Fm objected to an offer from a four-man gang to dance with his wife. He had reportedly told them that since she was married, it was not morally right for her to dance with them. He told them that if she was just a girlfriend, he probably would have considered their request for a dance. The gang then proceeded to break bottles and started stabbing him while he ran for safety. Amid the scuffle, it was said that the journalist’s elder brother, Mr. Agwanyan Efenji, took his wife and son as well as those of Mr. Eneji Innocent, a friend of the former AIT correspondent, to safety. “It was when about 16 other hoodlums joined in stabbing him on the head that the police arrived the scene and arrestedsome of them while I was trying to rescue him and two of the boys who started the fight,” Innocent said. According to him, all attempts to get the policemen to rush Efenji to hospital failed. He said, “Instead, they cocked their guns and threatened to label me an armed robber if I failed to get into their vehicle. It was later we heard he had died after losing so much blood.” However, a Deputy Supritendent of Police, Mr. Moshood Jimoh, said the police had made useful arrests. “We have made some arrests. I would not like to disclose their identity or their number,” he said. Jimoh said the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Mr. Haruna John, had directed the DCP in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department to handle the case, adding that he would be assisted by some other senior police officers. He said, “We are not leaving anything to chance. The owner of the place where the stabbing took place is also assisting us with information. “The corpse has been deposited at the National Hospital, Abuja for an autopsy.” The Punch Crazy world ain't it? The Banana republic called Nigeria! Bola Ige, Marshal Harry, Alfred Rewane murders are still unsolved till date so what is Efenji's fate? |
