Politics / Re: Yar’adua Laments Exclusion Of Nigeria From G20 Meeting In London by obiem(m): 10:30am On Apr 03, 2009
Nigeria under Musa Yar'Adua has been since May 29 2007 on a boat cruise without a defined destination making so much haste, but less speed. Sorry 2 say, this govt is a purposeless one and G20 leaders and countries are people in govt with defined purpose hence the initiative to hold the meeting. He should stop crying over split milk and face his so-called '' PDP POINT SORRY SEVEN POINTAGENDA''!
Politics / Re: Which Other State Should Be Created In Southeast? by obiem(m): 11:41am On Apr 02, 2009
The Asagba of Asaba what's his name? Professor Chike Edozien

Is that name Hausa or TIV?

The President General of Ohanaeze Amb Ralph Uwechue also from Asaba!

Asaba is an Igbo town(sorry to the other parts of delta) but it is indeed true. We need that state(Anioma) to further confirm our place in the south east and indeed 9ja!
Music/Radio / B.O.U.Q.U.I, Dekunle Fuji, Segun Obe - ''Don't Call Us Gospel Aristes'' by obiem(m): 10:54am On Apr 02, 2009
I wonder what they are especially Dekunle Fuji and B.O.U.Q.U.I. Segun Obe is a bit more of a soul artiste that tries to blend it with inspirational/gospel lyrics so i kind of agree with him.  B.O.U.Q.U.I did ''Mole jo'' , Dekunle did  ''No lele'' which to me look like gospel tracks, but bouqui new single '' Mo rile'' is not exactly gospel. What do we now classify 'em as?

Politics / Re: NYSC: Now Your Suffering Commences Or National Youth Service Corps by obiem(m): 12:53pm On Mar 30, 2009
Quite frankly, The NYSC has outlived it's usefulness. As far as i can remember, i learnt it was formed to fufil the 3 ''R''s decree of the Gowon administration after the civil war in 1970. That it did achieve to an extent, but this year makes it 39 years after the civil war and we are still operating a policy that has long "achieved'' it's aim.

Today, youth corp members are now hapless victims of ethnoreligious wars/clashes( a good number of them have been killed). I remember my service year Feb 2006, I was welcomed to the ''HOME OF PEACE'' (Borno) with a religious riot as a result of the Prophet Muhammad Cartoon which was drawn in far away Denmark. One corp member lost his life in the process!

The earlier it is scrapped, the better for us all to help save the lives of young vibrant boys/girls having endured the rigours of University life only to loose their lives in a senseless way!
Politics / Re: Seriously, Can Nigeria Ever Be Rebranded by obiem(m): 4:08pm On Mar 27, 2009
Nigeria is already on the process of Re- branding according to my amiable Prof. Akunyili but if you ask me, this process will yeild little or no results because it will end up being strangled by the monster called "Nigeria Factor".

Where is the ''Heart of Africa'' project initiated by her predecessor, Nweke Jnr today?
Politics / Re: Why I Can't Run For Election Now -anyaoku by obiem(m): 9:57am On Mar 27, 2009
@ireport I beg ur pardon, Anyaoku was Commonwealth Secretary General, not United Nations. He's not cut out for the Nigeria political realm. He's ideologies are western and they are not parallel with the 9ja system. He should just stay clean and be the statesman he already is,

Music/Radio / Re: Why Do Igbo Artistes Sing In Yoruba? by obiem(m): 1:30pm On Mar 06, 2009
Not entirely true u know, fine the likes of Ruggedman, DJ Zeez, etc do not identify with their roots probably cos they grew up in Lagos (I am guilty of that too) but i made up for that by schooling in the east, learning the language and having an appreciable mastery of it. Thank God for the likes of Nigga Raw, and the guy that sang N'abania( can't recollect his name) for flying the Igbo flag.
Romance / I'm Convinced She Still Loves Me by obiem(m): 12:18pm On Jan 29, 2009
Hi guys, i need your advice. There's this girl i met when i was serving, we started going out almost immediately after we met, everyone talked about us cos we we're always seen together. I passed out before her and it was like the world would end she cried her heart out, i felt same too but i could do little to save the situation. She passed out with the next batch and since then we've been in touch. I stay in Lagos while she stays up north. We talked almost everyday and it became a routine. I got a job with a telecom coy and it made it a lot easier. After some time, i noticed some changes in her behaviour over the phone, i enquired to know what was wrong, she wouldn't say. It became very obvious that something was wrong, i wanted to know but she would't let me in into it. I burst open one day over the phone i 'ACCUSED' her of hiding something from me, she reacted by saying she was 'FED' up with the relationship and all that. We parted ways with that. Last year she came to lagos and since then we've been in touch, I tried to make her see reason why we should solve our differences since we were closer, she's still mute about it. Infact one day when we were talking i told her to tell me emphatically that she didn't love me again, she said i shouldn't go there that she can't say anything like that. I still love her and i feel she still loves me, if she doesn't i just want to hear her say it. What do u guys think?
Literature / Most Intriguing Poem Ever by obiem(m): 3:24pm On Jan 08, 2009
I guess mine's is "The casualties" by John Pepper Clark. A poem centered on the genocide nicknamed Biafra/ Nigeria war. The poem evokes so much emotion that you could hardly spare a tear.

I also have space for another casualty of the war Christopher Okigbo. His poem Labryinths is another one.
