rentAcock: I didn't watch Jordan play but I definitely watched the Kobe & Shaq era. Kobe is the reason I started watching basketball while those around me only watched football. The guy is so talented and driven, I think it is even an insult to put Lebron ahead of him in a rank of the greatest of all time. I have never felt so touched and saddened by the death of a person I've never met before but for the past two days I've been really sad. It just hurts to see this promising young man go like that, it's like it doesn't even seem right. It feels so unfair as though he was cheated. The guy just had so much life left in him, and to think we will never see one of basketball's greatest player again, is just an insurmountable loss.
Not only was he a legend, he was also a very caring father. How many dads with a business empire, fame and wealth like his would make out time to attend every basketball game of their 13yr old daughter? But he did. He was so proud of that girl, you can just see how happy they were together.
It's quite unfair, but his legacy lives on. His name will forever be carved in record books, buildings, stadiums and in our minds till eternity. Rest on black mamba, rest on Watch Jordan's clips on YouTube. He was the enigma of basketball. Kobe is right behind him and was the best thing that happened to the sport since Jordan. So sad to see his end this way. My heart goes out to the family, what a loss #RipKobe #RipGianna |

Lalaska: So my wife and I took a few days off. It's pre thanksgiving and we decided to have lunch at a restaurant. We went with our 11 month old baby and sat beside a couple that were wrapping up their own lunch. They admired our beautiful baby and gave the usual compliments - "oh she's so cute", "How old is she" etc. They left before us and when we concluded, asked for the bill. We received the shock of our lives when the waiter told us the couple had paid for our lunch, that they liked our baby. We were so surprised and didn't even have the opportunity to say thank you to them. These guys are super nice here and we indeed feel very grateful. Happy thanksgiving to all Canadians. Canadians are super nice. Coming from someone that lives there, I can attest to this. |

Instead of 'efulefuing' in the US, why not be here and follow women around with his new found fame |

YorubaPrince: I've always said it over and over again. 90% of Igbos carry English language for head like gala and they've lost their indigenous cultural values. How many Igbos bear English names out of shame for their own indigenous Igbo names? How many Igbo movies are out there?
They think speaking English equates sophistication. They claim they're Nollywood while they refer to Yoruba movies as Yorubawood. Rubbish!
Although, majority of Nigerian movies are trash but, at least, the Yoruba movies are recognized as the real Nollywood to the international community as it's indigenous!
Btw... the movie is too overrated! @Op, I agree with you. Iam Igbo and yes we really carry English for head like load at the detriment of their own language. Though there are a few igbo movies here and there but they are all crap. I remember in 1992 when Living in Bondage came out, it was a huge success despite it being 100% Igbo and it wasn't even subtitled. All this English movies we make, we can never be more English than the English themselves! I hope Genevieve and co learn from this and start looking inward and drop this English movie frenzy! |
