Condolence must first go to those who suffered loss on this tragic attack on our country. We must avoid the temptation of allowing man made terror like this to tear us along lines of religion, politics or ethnic considerations, as that would mean us aiding & abetting the objectives of the master minds of these acts of terror. We must unite behind our leaders as the americans did & are still doing to defeat terrorism. We all know that our institutions, agencies and systems to be relied on by our leader(s) to get dis done are weak, not d weakness of today or one man (subject for another discussion) and it would take time to rebuild. The point i wish to make is dat America with its strong agencies and institutions, enlisted & got the full co-operation of her citizens couple with their patience to get d results achieved so far, but by no means have they claimed victory yet. The fight against terror is a marathon one that calls for every citizen participation. Not just one for one man, no matter the office he occupies.

im not fully GEJ's fan but many people here speak from their meriads of problems facing them which need urgent solution.but we shouldnt forget that the man was totally sidelined by pro yar dua during his sickness and eventually made substansive president thereafter and those period was all about contesting for presidency(i didnt expect much to happen then).New in the office,he has to harnness so many things to keep us together.i can even see light already at the end of the tunnel.we just recorded 24hrs power supply in my area since God-knows-when.my people governance is a gradual thing not fix it quick thing as we all expect.the ministers are equally new in their areas of operations and need articulate solutions to the various challenges that face their ministeries. i only see nairaland as a slaughter board by critics that cannot see anything good in anything.even when an angel comes they can never recognize him.

I truly think the time is not right for this administration to start deliberating on d issue of tenure. He has not even started working on his campaign promises and as such has not given us a chance to assess his govt. This debate can easily be presented after his first 2 years as hearing will not last more than a year. This issue is a double-edged sword. . .but GEJ is truly transforming the wrong animal as shown below:

Forget about the laziness that is the order of the day in this country. A President ready to be President on day one should start announcing majority of his cabinet immediately after his innauguration. I mean within 48hrs of innauguration.

lets look at one tenure of four years. a president steps into office trying to form his cabinet which might take some months,trying to get a grip of the intrigues of governance and understanding of a new terrain.after this the ministers start their own understanding of their own ministries as well as coming up with their own policies and projects.these things dont happen in days for proper implimentation,looking at nigeria with its vast problems and unlimited immediate result expectations.they go into work in the second and third year.thereafter, the forth year is all about second term bid ,campaign activities and so on.tell me when they concentrate to address the issues we have in this country?as for me,im with GEJ on this.like him or hate him.all of you here expect a whole lot from him.under four years?how long does it take to establish a new refinery,install power plants which contracts have been awarded in their regard?
