TV/Movies › Re: Kajola: Nollywood Science Fiction To Be Released Soon by obinna5000(m): 9:16pm On Mar 15, 2010
@pritypeety
If "Kajola" was purely animated it would have been better, but the issue of putting realism in an animated work really matters. Like in "District 9" for example, the visual effects team tried to make the 3D characters and elements look as real as possible.
"Kajola" is not a bad attempt and I can't wait to see the full length film. I pray it has a very good storyline.

"Avatar" became the highest selling film in China. But I wonder why the government later withdrew it from theaters? Was it because of the high price on IMAX 3D movie tickets?

I'm sure "Clash of the Titans (2010)" had already been discussed in the TV section.

Well, anyway, "Clash of the Titans (2010)" will have a theaterical release on April 2, 2010. Its going to be 3-hours long and will be in 3-D format. Everybody seems to be releasing films in 3-D format nowadays.

Wow! Did you that someone had posted this movie trailer earlier this year on Nairaland? https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-390003.0.html

@poster
So, when is "Kajola" going to be shown in cinemas?
TV/Movies › Re: My 15 Most Disturbing Movies. by obinna5000(m): 7:22pm On Mar 15, 2010
@m.i.
It also reminds me of the famous disgusting video on the internet "2 Girls 1 Cup". The video shows two girls eating feces from a cup and puking in each other's mouth.
TV/Movies › Re: My 15 Most Disturbing Movies. by obinna5000(m): 7:01pm On Mar 15, 2010
@m.i.
"Men Behind the Sun (1988)" also talks about the atrocities that Unit 731 committed during the second World War. " "Philosophy of a Knife" and "Men Behind the Sun" talk about the same thing and are both graphically violent.

I also heard the documentary was made in the year 2008.

@victorazy
Don't forget to use photo-realistic rendering plug-ins (Mental ray, RenderMan, Brazil, VRay, etc) to get the best out of your animation.

NOLLYWOOD BABYLON is a documentary film directed by Ben Addelman and Samir Mallal about the popularity of the Nigerian movie industry. It is produced by the National Film Board of Canada.

Does anyone know if "Kajola" has a marketer or a distributor? Or will it be shown in cinemas first
TV/Movies › Re: Kajola: Nollywood Science Fiction To Be Released Soon by obinna5000(m): 2:17pm On Mar 15, 2010
@OMO IBO
The story of "Kajola" is set in the year 2059. So, its a futuristic film.
TV/Movies › Re: Kajola: Nollywood Science Fiction To Be Released Soon by obinna5000(m): 1:46pm On Mar 15, 2010
@jessefly
I still believe there is a lot of room for improvement. I give kudos to the guy or team that even tried to do something like this. The scenery may not look photorealistic enough but it not a bad attempt.
TV/Movies › Re: Kajola: Nollywood Science Fiction To Be Released Soon by obinna5000(m): 1:28pm On Mar 15, 2010
"Kajola" is not a bad attempt at a Science Fiction movie from Adonis Production. But I still believe there is still room for improvement.

Its not an animated movie. Its a live-action sci-fi movie with somehow realistic 3D in fusion. Its not a bad attempt.

I just finished watching the so-called Japanese horror movie "Audition (1999)". Even though the movie has some shocking scenes, all I can say is that its too boring to be a horror flick.

TV/Movies › Re: What Was The Last Movie You Watched? by obinna5000(m): 9:36pm On Mar 13, 2010
@bluespice
Yeah! I'm eager to see Tim Burton's version as well. I heard that his version is a follow-up to the original Alice in Wonderland story.

@topic
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen tongue The first one was far better. This one is too noisy and was almost like a comedy film.

Did you enjoy "The Hurt Locker"? To me, the movie was OK!

Hmm!! The 1951 Alice in Wonderland cartoon. I remembered watching it as a kid. It was alright.

Johnny Depp, Helena Boham Carter & Tim Burton (The Three Musketeers)  wink Tim Burton can never do a movie nowadays without Johnny Depp & Helena Boham Carter.
Just like how Martin Scorsese can't do without Leonardo DiCaprio.
TV/Movies › Re: What Was The Last Movie You Watched? by obinna5000(m): 7:32pm On Mar 13, 2010
The "Machete" movie which is based on the Grindhouse trailer will be released this year. No specific date has been fixed yet.
The "Machete" cast includes Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Jeff Fahey, Lindsay Lohan, Steven Seagal, Rose McGowan & Robert De Niro.

"Planet Terror" was slightly better than "Death Proof". Even though the two films were wack to me.
