Following Wednesday's release of Colonel Nicholas Ashinze, the former military aide to ex-National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki- he has reunited with his family.

Colonel Ashinze had been in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Military Authority, since December 2015.

He was arrested in connection to the $2.1bn arms deal fraud spearheaded by the office of his former boss.

Many Nigerians did not find it funny when they a picture of a man paying obeisance to Lara Oshiomole surfaced online.According to an Esan by birth reader who sent the photo and reactions to me,it is a shameless act.He wrote.....

'It is obvious that we have some people with tumors in their brains,thereby making their brains function anticlockwisely.I am an African man and an Esan man by birth. If this shameless, useless and poverty sticking man were to be my father (God forbids) I will stone him to death
This isn't Courtesy!
But stupidity, and POVERTY INDUCED MADNESS'.

This happened at Area 1 shopping complex Abuja, a Keke rider was severely beaten by four occupants of the red 206 Peugeot, for scratching their car and not saying sorry on time.The fight almost deteriorated into a free for all tribe-related fight (the Keke Rider is Hausa, the 4boys igbo) except for the intervention of the police (who actually had a tough time quelling the fiasco) . Two people where arrested for attempting to vandalise the car.

This is the Palace of the Ile Ife Kingdom, where His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi and his new Olori Wuraola Otiti Zynab Obanor reside.

The Ooni’s palace has been in existence for centuries, as far back as 500 BC and is located at the centre of a city called Enuwa in Ile-Ife.

The palace is home to not only the Ooni but also to his Oloris (wives) and his children. Besides being the abode of members of the royal family, it is also the location of a meeting hall for the high chiefs of Ile-Ife.



Until a few decades ago, the Ooni’s palace was constructed with a mud wall but since the demolition of those buildings, modern buildings built with cement have been erected. The palace is a well-landscaped home of treasures.



The five main sections of Ile Ife flow from three major roads that meet at an orita (intersection) called Enu Owa (meaning “mouth of the king”, and from which Enuwa is derived).

In Yoruba traditional belief, an orita is a place where three roads meet. A visit to Ile-Ife is not complete without checking out the magnificent palace of the Ooni of Ife otherwise known as Ile Oduduwa, named after the first king of the Yoruba race.

The palace is a perfect symbol of power, authority and pride for all who trace their heritage to Ile-Ife. Even with the modernization of the palace, traditional and cultural part of it is still preserved.

The palace is a sacred place where you do not just indiscriminately wander. You can pay homage to the king and will be warmly welcomed.



Ile Ife is an evolving city and the presence of the Ooni’s Palace has made many business minded persons to troop to the flourishing town. In this Palace everything is brand new.

The turmoil in Psquare- Africa’s biggest music group, isn’t showing any sign of abating soon.

Whenever it appears that there’s ray of light or a possibility of reconciliation, fans of Psquare get their hopes dashed.

Another such scenario has taken place.

Earlier on Saturday, Paul Okoye had written a heartfelt Instagram note to his brother, Peter, whom he urged to come back into the fold in spite of his acrimony with elder brother, Jude Okoye.

Peter, had through the same platform, urged his brother to reach out to him privately, rather than taking their family drama to social media.

Hours after Peter’s post went up on Instagram, entertainment website- NET published a revealing interview, where Peter spoke at length on his frustration, pains and private experiences in the past few years with Psquare.

After the interview went viral, Paul, feeling further aggrieved,took back his apology– by deleting the post from his Instagram page.

No Fewer than 100 policemen drafted from Akure, Ondo state for Rivers rerun election escaped death after the truck they were travelling in collided with another truck carrying cows along the East-West road near Akala - Olu community in Rivers state. Several of the police officers sustained varying injuries while at least 5 cows died in the accident. More photos below;

With all the laws banning Okada riding in Lagos, this rider still risked the lives of six kids. I managed to take the pictures after some threats. He however pictured all the faces of the kids. We just hope that the Education department will get to do something about this kids.'
