According to Alao Ibrahim Classical who shared the photos online,the student was abused by the school security on Wednesday 24th February at about 3:57pm at the bus shed of the school premises of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic.He said one of his friends who is a student of Mass Communication Hnd2 was mercilessly whipped by security in the school for reasons they didn't divulge. The student said the matter was reported to school management but the security men have not been brought to book.

Wife of the President Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari has unveiled a new vessel of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas company which will now join in the fleet of the organization.

The new vessel named LNG ABUJA 11 was unveiled in Seoul, South Korea, on Thursday. Aisha Buhari expressed confidence that despite challenges in the global energy sector, Nigeria and South Korea will continue to occupy important positions with respect to international energy, security and development.

“Nothing makes me proud than the knowledge that Nigerians and Nigerian companies actively participated and benefited directly from the construction of the new (ship) vessel,” she said.

According to a statement signed by Nadabo X.Y., the wife of the president said that “the ship has Nigeria written all over it” and expressed hope that participating companies in the sector will continue to export to shipyards across the world and make Nigeria to shine.

The vessel is billed for the fleet of the NLNG and specifically for one of its subsidiaries, BONNY GAS COMPANY. It was built by SAMSUNG AND HYUNDAI HEAVY INDUSTRIES South Korea.

The statement claimed that the vessel was ”built with local content that earned Nigeria vast export revenue” and ”a good number of some Nigerian youths were part of the Crew in the new vessel.”

No fewer than 26 boko haram members were killed and several others injured as the insurgents tried to attack Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp located at Dikwa on Thursday February 25. Unfortunately, one soldier and a member of the local vigilante (Civilian JTF) died during the encounter. Also 3 soldiers and 4 Internally Displaced Persons sustained injuries. See statement released by the army below;


Following dislodgement of Boko Haram terrorists camps in the border towns of Kumshe and Talala by joint operations of Nigerian and Cameroonian forces, the terrorists made a futile attempt on Dikwa early today.

From all indications, the terrorists aimed at causing havoc at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp located at Dikwa. However and unknown to the fleeing Boko Haram terrorists, the Armed Forces Special Forces in blocking positions decisively dealt with the terrorists; killing many, recovered vehicle, arms and ammunitions.

Unfortunately, we lost a soldier and a member of the local vigilante (Civilian JTF) during the encounter, while 3 soldiers and 4 Internally Displaced Persons sustained injuries. A military vehicle was damaged by a Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) suicide bomber.
The troops recovered 26 bodies of the Boko Haram terrorists, while others escaped with gun shot wounds, destroyed 3 VIED, 1 MBIED and 2 Gun trucks. The gallant troops recovered 1 Gun truck mounted with an Anti-Aircraft Gun, 1 Dushka Anti-Aircraft Gun, 1 Browning Anti-Aircraft Gun, 1 Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) Tube.

Others include 1 General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), 4 AK 47 Rifles, 3 RPG Bombs, 36 Hand Grenades, 1 Smoke Grenade and 8 AK-47 rifles magazines. The troops also recovered 236 rounds of 12.7mm ammunitions, 396 rounds of 7.62mm ammunitions and 101 rounds of 762mm (Special), ammunitions.

The casualties have seen been evacuated while the troops have been pursuing those terrorists that escaped with gunshot wounds.
It is encouraging to note that despite loss of colleague and the vigilante, the troops have maintain dominating presence in the general area and poised to continue to clear the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists.

Vocal politician, Ben Murray-Bruce may just be the perfect example of popular saying ‘practice what you preach.’

Yesterday, Nigerians proved they were watching the politician closely when someone went on Twitter to ‘expose’ the Silverbird CEO for doing the exact opposite of what he has been advocating for weeks now: #BuyNaijatoGrowTheNaira.

At his 60th birthday party,which took place a few days ago in Abuja, Mr. Bruce launched his A CommonSense Revolution book and shared free copies to guests in attendance. One would naturally think the ‘common sense’ speaker would have published his book in Nigeria but it appears the Senator has more faith in the American printing press.

The observant Nigerians shared book on Twitter saying : So, #BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira advocate made his book in the USA. Haba! Immediately Nigerians reacted and they took heavy shots at Mr.bruce calling him a ‘hypocrite’ and a ‘noise maker’. One person even went as far as calling him a ‘first class fool.’

NYSC 2015 Batch A CORPER MEDICAL DOCTOR AND A NURSE SUSPECTED TO HAVE DIED OF LASSA FEVER IN ZONKWA,KADUNA.

The serving corper DR KELECHI OGBOJI until his demise was serving at St Louis Hospital Zonkwa LGA.The young, vibrant and hardworking Ebonyi state university (EBSU) trained medical doctor who did housemanship at FMC Abeokuta was said to have attended to a very sick patient rushed into their facility on account of high grade fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, weakness amid other symptoms.

They cautiously resuscitated the patient and referred to Jos as they obviously suspected Lassa fever.

Few days later, the doctor and his nurse both fell ill with high fever and similar symptoms and were admitted in the same hospital on Tue 16/2/16. Dr Kelechi died on Fri 19/2/16 while the nurse died a day before him,18th.

Details of what they were being treated for while on admission still unknown and it appears the appropriate bodies are yet to make urgent probe into this unfortunate incidence.

May their souls rest in peace. Amen

Self proclaimed common sense advocate, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has once again taken President Muhammadu Buhari and the 36 state governors of the country in- a lesson in common sense.

The senator has charged the president and other public office holders to help grow Nigeria’s tourism by spending their vacations in Nigeria instead of jetting out of the country.

He believes that if the president and other officers of the government take to vacationing within the country, international attention would be brought to the various tourist attractions in Nigeria which in the long run would enhance the economy of the nation.

Senator Ben Bruce said:

Nigeria’s elected leaders are legally entitled to paid holiday and typically they take these holidays in exotic foreign holiday destinations. But the world is changing. Nigeria is changing. And as Nigerians, we have to adjust our behaviors so that they make economic sense in today’s world.

Instead of vacationing overseas, why can’t our leaders vacation at scenic and beautiful Nigerian locations such as Yankari Games Reserve in Bauchi, Obudu Cattle Ranch in Cross River or Mambilla Plateau in Taraba or even the Gashaka Gumti Games Reserve, also in Taraba? I have holidayed in these places and they are as beautiful as any holiday location anywhere in the world. Our economy is facing challenges. We need to be looking at non oil resources and tourism is one area we can make a honest buck. But which tourist would come to Nigeria if our own elite refuse to holiday here? Consider the history of The US and The UK.

Their leaders habitually spend their vacations within their nations. It is a rarity for them to holiday overseas. US President Barrack Obama recently returned from his vacation to Hawaii while British Prime Minister had his last vacation in Cornwall in The UK. Our leaders, be they the President or any of the 36 state governors, are the chief marketing officers for the nation and their states.

Their presence in a local holiday resort or attraction draws the attention of the world. Since they have such capital, should they not spend it in Nigeria rather than abroad? And it is not just leaders who should so act. All of us should begin to patronize local tourist attractions. Tourism fetches South Africa over $5 billion annually and $1 billion in Kenya. In Nigeria, tourism is so insignificant because we do not make enough efforts to attract tourists.

Our Naira is nose diving and the only way to salvage the situation is to‪#‎BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira‬.

Owing to the contentious rivalry between the contenders of the Benue south senatorial seat, the oppositional stands of their respective parties, and what has been made the political norm in Nigeria, one would expect the All Progressive Congress, APC, to further challenge the victory trophy lifted by David Mark at the poll, yesterday.

Instead of this, the APC quickly congratulated the giant candidate of the opposition party who is returning to the National Assembly for the 5th time.

Trailing this congratulatory message, however, Nigerians have thrown up mixed reactions. At a moment when some commended the winner,others commended the lost party for the spirit of sportsmanship. According to a social media user Dan Borno who shared the photos,the young man pictured was rescued after his friends allegedly tried to slaughter his throat. Biko, aside from taking care of these children in IDP camps, the government should do more in reorientating them. These children have seen so many killings and should be reoriented so they don’t replicate it.

Osun state governor, Rauf Aregbesola, has denied reports that the state has sacked its striking doctors. In a series of tweets, the governor said that no resident doctor in the state has been sacked. He also appealed to them to return back to their duties.

It will be recalled that the Osun State Association of Medical and Dental Officers under the Hospitals Management Board and Association of Resident Doctors at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo embarked on an indefinite strike on September 28, 2015 because of payment of half salaries and poor condition of service.

Nollywood actress Chrystabel Goddy who bit her colleague Princess Chineke has been suspended indefinitely by the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria(AGN), Chief Ibinabo Fiberesima

Earlier today,Princess announced that Chrystabel has been arrested and charged to court for the attack. Not long after, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria(AGN), Chief Ibinabo Fiberesima released a statement suspending Chrystabel from the industry.

“All the Guilds and Associations in Nollywood have been duly notified of the suspension, while the National and state task forces have been kept on alert to disengage her from all sets pending when the suspension would be lifted,” the National P.R.O Moji Oyetayo said in the signed statement.

“The Guild has set up a high powered committee headed by the National Chief Whip, Empress Eneh to investigate the immediate and remote causes of the matter. Meanwhile Crystabel Goody shall remain on suspension until the outcome of the investigation as stipulated by the constitution of the Guild.”

“The President frowned at the act of cannibalism and urged all members to make discipline their watchword because we are the mirror of the society.”

The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, on Thursday, prayed an Abuja Federal High Court to dismiss the criminal charges preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Metuh stated this through his lawyer, Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), when he filed a no-case-submission, that essentially seeks to quash the charges because the prosecution had failed to provide authoritative evidence to establish and solidify their accusations.

The PDP spokesperson is accused of receiving N400 million from embattled former National Security Adviser, NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki.

The said money is alleged to have been paid to Metuh through his company, Destra Investments Ltd, before the 2015 general election.

Metuh, however, refused to state what the money given to him by former President Jonathan, was for.

His lawyer stated that: “In this case, by the evidence of PW-3, who works with ONSA, the NSA is answerable to then President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan only.”

“The PW-5’s evidence that presentation for which money was paid was made to Dr. Jonathan made the investigation of his role as well as his evidence vital and indeed crucial, without which no prima-facie case can conceivably be said to have been made out.”

“Dr. Jonathan to whom the presentation was made for which the payment was made is therefore a material and indispensable person in order for a prima-facie case to be present. Where the prosecution failed to call such a vital witness, a strong presumption will arise that the evidence, if called, would be unfavourable to the prosecution.”
