Coca-Cola brought top Nigerian celebrities and influencers to its Island on Friday for the launch of the brand’s new marketing campaign ‘Taste The Feeling’.

Bovi, Falz, Kaylah, Denrele, Uche Nnaji, Titi the Dynamite, Olajumoke and many more other celebrities grooved till the boats went back to shore. Everyone had a good time.



There were performances by 2Baba and Yemi Alade. And for the first time, everyone heard the collabo the two have been cooking up secretly in the studio lately.





It was the anthem cover for ‘Taste The Feeling’ and both artistes did Nigeria proud with the duet.

The Speaker, Benue House of Assembly, Mr Terkimbi Ikyange said economic empowerment of his constituents remained his topmost priority.

Ikyange stated this on Saturday in Manor-Ikov Council Ward of Ushongo Local Government Area of the state during the flag off of his empowerment scheme.

He pointed out that if his people are empowered economically they would be self reliant, adding that by so doing they could be financially independent.

He stated that the decision to empower his constituents was borne out of the fact that if majority of them are empowered they would also be of tremendous assistance to others.

”I am sure this is going to have a multiplier effect in our constituency because the people that are empowered today will certainly extend this gesture to others.

”With this in mind I pledge to continue to support my constituents in order to improve their well being,” he said.

He enjoined his people to be patient with the present administration, stressing that it assumed office during the country’s turbulent period.

He, however, said that the situation would soon improve and the dividends of democracy would trickle down to all the nooks and crannies of the country.

He also assured them of quality legislation that could trigger growth and development in the state.

Also, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman of the local government, Mr Abraham Soo, commended the speaker for initiating the scheme, stating that it was a right step in the right direction.


Soo prayed God to continue to bless him so that he would actualise all life ambitions.

He further urged him to continue to pilot the affairs of the assembly creditably in order for posterity to judge him aright.

The Speaker donated assorted items to the beneficiaries which cut across the 11 council wards of the local government. Items donated include motorcycles, sewing machines, generators, water pumps, knapsack sprayers, clippers, vulcanizing machines, weaving machines and garri processing machines.

Each ward had 15 beneficiaries, totalling 165 in all.

Sokoto government has signed a memorandum of understanding with Henan Province of China for the establishment of a demonstration farm and boosting of agriculture in the state. The signing took place in China where Tambuwal is visiting. Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari, is also in China, even though Tambuwal visited separately.
With this agreement, Sokoto has become one of the beneficiaries of the 100 agricultural projects to be sited in developing countries which was announced by the Chinese President, Ji Xinping during the South-South Cooperation meeting held in September 2015.
The deal will see to the application of new technology for cultivation of crops such as corn, wheat, tomatoes and onions.
A statement issued from China by the spokesman of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Malam Imam Imam, said the agreement also provides room for experts from Sokoto and Henan Province to carry out joint analysis and study of climatic conditions, soil moisture status, crop cultivation techniques and plant protection and quarantine.
It will also promote lease investment and promotion of agricultural machinery between the two entities.
Speaking at the signing of the agreement in Zhengzhou, the capital city of Henan Province, Governor Tambuwal said as the largest producer of food and agric machinery in China, Henan Provice has a lot to offer Sokoto.
“They have some of the best agricultural machinery industries in the world. From simple ones to the complicated. Having gone round the factories and demonstration farms, we will choose the best one for our state.
“Signing this agreement today has given our decision to embrace mechanised agriculture a huge boost. We will quickly work to set up a joint working group to ensure its implementation,” the Governor added.
While the state commissioner of agriculture, Umar nagwari signed on behalf of Sokoto government, King Xue, the General manager of Henan Holding Industries signed on behalf of the Chinese.

The EMPD Tracing Unit members in a Bumper to Bumper operation arrested a Nigerian man in Boksburg North and found in possession of him a large amount of cocaine, Cat and cash on Monday, April 11.

EMPD spokesman Lieut-Col Wilfred Kgasago said the metro police confiscated the drugs weighing a whopping 1.5kg, estimated to be worth R2 million (N27m) in the streets.

Cash amounting to more than R8000 was also confiscated.

“Acting on intelligence received from members of South African Police Service, the metro police pounced on a house at the corner of 2nd Street and 13th Avenue in Boksburg.

“A lone 29-year-old man was found in an outside room where he is tenant.

“On searching a bag found on the bed in the room, the metro police found eight bags laden with cocaine and seventeen with the drug cat.

“The combined mass of the drugs amounted to 1.5kgs,” said Kgasago.



The arrested suspect was charged with dealing in illicit substances at Boksburg North police station.

He is expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon, Boksburgadvertiser reports.

Actor and tv host Joseph Benjamin, is unhappy that President Muhammadu Buhari traveled to China on Monday just to get a loan. The Project Fame anchor, faulted Buhari’s trip, calling it unnecessary.

In a series of tweets (which he has since deleted), Joseph said:

"Why go to China to negotiate terms and conditions to borrow $2billion when we are expecting $200billion from looted money stashed away in Dubai?

“Why go to China to negotiate terms and conditions to borrow $2billion when America is helping us repatriate $6billion kept by former PDP Governor’s and ministers in the USA?

A team of journalists visited a scene of terror in Umu­koroada village of Okpuala Umugwor Autonomous com­munity in Osisioma Ngwa lo­cal government area of Abia State where one Kenneth Nwanguma Agu (32), butch­ered his sister, Esther Akudo Agu (28) to pieces with a cut­lass.

Like a scene out of a horror movie, Kenneth also attempted to bury alive his brother, King­sley Ngozi Agu (30) along with the brother’s friend, Ezekiel Chikwado Ajuga from Enugu state, in the bush.

The three siblings are chil­dren of one late Mr. Sunday Nwanguma Agu while their mother, Mrs. Ekemma Eliza­beth Agu – née Okeke – is from Neni in Anaocha local government area of Anambra state.

Luck, however smiled on Kingsley and his friend as vil­lagers who noticed their pres­ence on the ground in the said bush rescued them while they were still breathing. It was gathered that they were tied with rope and loaded in a wheel barrow down the bush and buried.

According to the siblings’ maternal uncle, who led journalists to the scene, trouble started late last year when their father who was a trader dealing on timber at Aba died.

He said that shortly after Agu’s demise, Kenneth started laying claim to the family house, a four-bedroom bun­galow situated in the village. He said that attempt made by Kingsley to secure one room in the house failed and effort made by their mother and Es­ther to convince Kenneth to release the room also failed.

The uncle recalled that Kingsley had a misfortune concerning his business in Abuja shortly after the father died and had to relocate to the village where he needed a room in the house but Ken­neth refused.

He said, an angry Kenneth must have ambushed Esther with a very sharp cutlass and butchered her to death on the midnight of 31st December last year.

Kenneth had earlier swooped on Kingsley and his friend, Ezekiel, tied them with rope and used a wheel barrow to push them down the bush in the village and buried them alive.It took the vigilance of vil­lagers who passed by the bush on their way to fetch firewood to rescue Kingsley and Ezekiel.According to their uncle, Kenneth left the wheel barrow at the scene and did not cover the emergency grave where he laid Kingsley and his friend well enough.On seeing the wheel bar­row, the villagers felt that it is not normal for anybody to abandon such in the bush and on getting closer, they noticed some movements in the grave.The lucky duo were however rescued and rushed to a near­by hospital where they were treated. Kingsley has been dis­charged from hospital.

Ezekiel sustained injury on the neck. Asked by journalists what Kenneth was doing for a living and how he managed to tie down King­sley and Ezekiel with rope and drove them to the bush in a wheel barrow, the man said he was a commercial motor cy­clist in Makurdi, Benue State for sometime before then, and that he suspected diabolical means were used by the as­sailant and his alleged accom­plice, one Clement Nsogala, to achieve their cruel aim.
He recalled that when he got the information on what was going on, he rushed down to Umuokoroada from Onitsha and met few villagers on the scene and took picture without anybody making attempt to ar­rest him or even report to the Police.

“To me, the whole thing is like a mystery. How did they allow him to escape? My sister who is their mother is bed-ridden and could not make ef­fort to defend her daughter but what about the neighbours? I think he applied diabolical means to blindfold everybody and did all he wanted to do,” he recounted.

With the assailant on the run, he said that the villag­ers arrested his friend, Nso­gala and asked him to produce Kenneth but Nsogala who is an Okada rider in the village did not give any clue of Kenneth’s whereabouts and the villagers allowed him to go adding that the remains of Esther was bur­ied after two days.

Asked if they reported the matter to the Police, the man who insisted that he did not want his name in print for fear of being attacked by Kenneth and his cohorts said he re­ported the matter to a nearby Police post but could not fol­low it up because he was too busy working to save the lives of Kingsley and the mother.

“I took pictures and went to report the matter to a nearby Police post, but I could not fol­low it up because my aunty and Kingsley were in coma all the while. Besides, the cost of com­ing from Onitsha to this place was too cumbersome to me, so please use your power to tell the Police to look for Kenneth and arrest him and procecute him,” he added.He said that all efforts made to get Kenneth’s picture failed but the picture of his friend, Clement Nsogala is available.

In continuation of the ongoing clearance operations of suspected Boko Haram terrorists hideouts, troops of 155 Task Force Battalion conducted a patrol on Nimila village yesterday, April 10.

During the operation, they rescued 14 people, mostly women and children  from the clutches of Boko Haram terrorists. 



The troops also recovered 3 Dane Guns; a single barrel and 2 double barrels. They further recovered 3 motor cycles abandoned by the terrorists, in addition to 2 mobile telephone handsets.

The Inspector General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase has appointed Mr Adamu Ibrahim as the new Commissioner of Police Kaduna State Command.

Ibrahim replaces Mr Umar Shehu who has been transfered to force headquarters, Abuja.

A press release issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Zubairu Abubakar, says that the new commissioner was enlisted into the Nigerian Police Force in 1986, and was a one time deputy force secretary, commissioner of police in Abia state.

Before his posting to Kaduna, he was the commissioner of Police Administration, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The new commissioner, who took over from his predecessor on Friday, holds a masters degree in Law and Criminal Justice from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Tragedy was averted in Maiduguri on Friday when some eagle-eyed Civilian JTF members in Jimini village of Jere LGA of Borno State spotted and shot dead four female suicide bombers as they attempted to infiltrate into Maiduguri, Daily Correspondents has learnt. A Civilian JTF member who was part of the operation said the suicide bombers numbering four came in from the bush at about 5:20am but gallant Civilian JTF member stationed at the outskirts of Maiduguri shot them down.

The Rivers State Chapter of National Youth REAP took over the main entrance of INEC Office in Port harcourt, Rivers State in a peaceful protest to condemn the unlawful invasion of several communities across Rivers state before , during and after the #RiversResun by men of Nigeria Army , which led to the death of many innocent persons in the state , especially the killing of a Pregnant Woman in Tai LGA, the alleged manhandling of a corper who finally lost his life and the gruesome killings of Youths in Khana LGA and other LGAs by the Army.
The protesters also condemn the continuous seizure of already collated results and alleged plans by INEC to announce results in some LGAs where there were no elections etc.

Togolese international Emmanuel Adebayo has requested to meet a kid who plays the flute via his nostril. The young boy who was discovered by Nollywood actor Adedimeji Lateef while queuing for fuel at a filling station in Ijebu-Ode might be moving on the greater things.

The 2008 African footballer of the year who joined Premier League side Crystal Palace on a 6 month deal in January, is requesting to meet the talented boy.

“I would really like to get in touch with the young fella, so if anyone knows him let me know directly or contact @team_adebayor, ” he said.

Good things can indeed come out of the most uncomfortable situations.

A suppose mad man created an unusual scene at the Lagos State secretariat opposite elephant bus stop when he demanded to see the governor of Lagos"No he is mad "some said ,Yes he is a kidnapper" others argued.. Few said he must be one of the criminals that torment innocent citizens once the night falls.

I want to see Ambode " he demanded.. What for?" one of the security guys asked as he rained koboko on his head. He was told to unwrap whatever that he has bagged.. Books and other rubbish were inside the bag but nothing incriminating was found.. Some began to sympathise with him.. May be he's mad afterall? A woman at the scene retorted.. The argument ranges on as the man was whisked away in to the compound of the secretariat..

One man later said.. There a 4 levels of madness.. As far as psychiatry is concerned He then pointed to another man, Who knows.. even you.. You may be a mad man.. Me..? You too you are mad.. In fact.. You dey craze.. Hmmmm.. I sighed Lagos and it's wahala..
