What are the characteristics of a good marriage, am 25 and single and staying in a relationship is like world war 2... seems like love is not all it takes... am in a relationship with a 27yr old man and we r In love and we are both university graduates but I dont think we can make it to the alter cos it's a different drama everyday, never caught him cheating and he respects me but his family controls a better part of him and he isn't ready for marriage anytime soon and I have this ex who is very willing all I have to do is tell him am ready and am no longer in a relationship, he is rich and has different cars and houses but am not so into him but he loves me for sure....
The truth of the matter is that no one is perfect.

Marry for love or marry for money, you still deal with sh**t.

What people don't like about these things are:

1) the secrecy involved in the initiations

2) the constant need to sacrifice an animal

Chiristianity doesn't involve any kind of secrecy. In fact, you usually leave your battles to God.

Even if you claim that you do not have HIV, you probably have some kind of STD/STI.

Hope you receive some sense and get tested. You sound like someone who lacks parental guidance and care.

AdeniyiA:
The real problem is that we can not differentiate between-needs and wants. Differentiating between Who i want and Who I need is very germane. Your relationship with God will bring about the difference. We all have our wants but are they really wat we need for our homes?? huh
Being dogmatic with our wants is one of the reasons why many have remained unmarried.
My wife was ,before we got married, not who I wanted but her presence in my life has shown that she's really who I need.
We should not be shortsighted in relationships.
Rubbish.... LoooL

If the friendship isn't there, is marriage still possible.

Marriage is not by force.

If you don't love someone ..you can't respect them ever.

Xensity:
Marriage is a very delicate enterprise. It's not something people should rush into, and it's surely not something that is compulsory, like your post is suggesting. I am of the opinion that if someone should enter an institutionalized agreement that essentially involves spending the rest of her life with just one person, then that one person should be someone who meets her standards. Everyone has standards, and these standards shouldn't be circumscribed by opinions of "relationship article writers" who think they have all the answers.
So true.

Imagine being with someone you're not attracted to. You'll cheat even if you marry them.

Attraction has nothing to do with wealth or materialistic things.

Its luck, choice and timing.
Romance › Re: 7 Unreal Factors That Often Cause Delay In Marriage by obowunmi(m): 11:17pm On Oct 10, 2016
Rubbish.

The truth is marriage is about luck. You can meet someone and regardless of what they have or do not have, love them regardless.

Then you can meet someone who has all that materialistic things and not like them one bit.

Then you can sometimes never meet someone who tickles your fancy.

Luck. Choice .. Timing.

Don't let anyone defraud you with stupid essays.

People make decisions based on information available to them at a ready time in their lives.

People don't love who they marry.

They often marry because of societal pressures and to have kids.

Keep your standards low and realistic.
Family › Re: Help! I Am Going Back To Nigeria To Find A Wife! by obowunmi(m): 4:46pm On Oct 04, 2016
This whole marriage thing is about luck and nothing else.

Some folks are lucky to find love and compatibility.

Other folks have to manage ugly and incompatibility just so you can have kids and move on.

There has to be more to life than this marriage business.
