Nsukka is one of the fastest developing city in Igbo land. It is north of Enugu. Considered a university town before, it has grown to be the centre of agricultural trade, educational attainment and gateway to the East from the North. It is the second largest city in Enugu State.

1.It has abundant power supply. 20 hours daily.
2.Cost of living is average or minimal. 80K can get you a comfortable self contained room .
3.There are good roads and drainage system. No case of abundant flooding.
4.It is equally green and clean.
5.There is water supply to most streets.
6.Doing business here is cheap to set up and run.
7.It has a large middle class population.
8.The second best university in the country is located here.
9.It is almost at the centre of the country, so it’s easily accessible to everywhere.
10. It is home to the largest grain market.

What do you know about Nsukka? Setting up a business, or settling down, you need to think Nsukka … Especially if you are in IT. Cheers.

Fashion / Clothes To Wear During Harmattan In Nigeria by obrien29(m): 3:57am On Feb 22, 2021
Harmattan comes with a lot of new scent in the air and expectations. There is this sudden coldness, dryness, that comes with harmattan. These features of harmattan and more can make someone become worried of what to wear. How do you know the clothes to wear during harmattan in Nigeria? What clothes do you wear to keep yourself protected from the harsh weather of the harmattan?

In this post, we’ll be treating the clothes and dresses you can wear during harmattan to protect yourself, your skin, and on top of it all, to look great. What’s the secret of these people who look awesome during harmattan? We’ve it here for you. Their secret is nothing much other than their choice of clothes and a few other things.

Choose Good Clothes during Harmattan in Nigeria
Once you feel the weather changing. The air getting drier than usual, the rain receding, the sun getting too hot like it is about to fall. Then, I think it’s about the right time you made decisions for clothes and fashion change to be in tune with the weather change.

You don’t want the harmattan to turn your delicate skin into dry scales, or perhaps, give the surface of your skin a different sheen. In these situations, you should always be ready for what is to come.

The big question then is what clothes should I wear during harmattan in Nigeria?

1.Long sleeve Shirts
Your top choice of clothes during this period should be long sleeve shirts. Your choice of long sleeve shirts should be made between November and February when the harmattan breeze is still fierce, coming from the north. These shirts are to cover up your skin from the dry weather. To prevent your skin from losing its moistness.

2.Slightly Loose Trousers
Whether you’re a male or female, you should consider making the decision of shopping for a slightly loose trouser during harmattan. These loose trousers cover the skin of your legs and does not make you feel uncomfortable in it. The tighter the trouser is, the more the heat and the lack of comfort. As a lady, you should consider putting on more of corporate trousers and fashionable loose ones to prevent heat and keep your skin smooth.

3.Sweaters and Jackets
One aspect of harmattan Nigerians are more familiar with is the cold that comes with it. This is most likely the time you should consider getting a sweater or heavy jackets. While getting these, do your best to avoid getting the black one. Black as a colour attracts heat and you won’t want to feel uncomfortable if the sun gets too hot. You may not be in a comfortable position to remove the jacket, so choose the type of jacket and the colour wisely.

4.Cover Shoes and Cans
There is no best time to wear cover shoes and cans if not during the harmattan. As a Nigerian, wearing cover shoes and cans should be your topmost decision during the harmattan. You shouldn’t make the mistake of making sandals or flat and open foot wears your choice during harmattan. It’s not a good decision, and it can be a dangerous decision as well. Being on flat open foot wear or sandals will make the sole of your feet dry and caked like scales.

5.Long Gowns
There’s no better time to get long gowns other than during harmattan. As a lady, you don’t have to wait for maternity period and when you’re pregnant to get long gowns. Annually, you should shop for long gowns enough to keep you covered from the harshness of the sun and that of harmattan. Harmattan is certainly not the best time to leave some parts of your legs or hands exposed. The weather will dry you up and make your skin unattractive.

6.Hats and Sun Glasses
The harmattan will also make you get hats and sun glasses. The hats should keep you covered from the sun, and so should the sun glasses. The sun glasses will also cover your eyes from the floating sand and the dryness. It’s important you get these. And if you feel uncomfortable getting hats, you can get a face cap instead.

These are the clothes to choose to wear during harmattan in Nigeria. It’s pertinent you make the right decisions and guide yourself towards a healthy harmattan season in Nigeria. While others hide themselves from the harsh harmattan, you glow and you slay.

YOU WANT TO LOOK GOOD FOR THE HARMATTAN?

Have you ever been scammed?

Would you mind sharing about how you were scammed?

For me, all my life since I started making investment as a 20-year-old boy, I have been scammed. Like back to back. Those peeps don't pity me at all.

My first bad investment was MMM where I lost 30k.

Then I was young and naive and didn't know how a proper investment should be. You remember that after MMM, several Ponzi scheme also came out. Ultimate Cycler and co. I was scammed by a website who said you invest and they use your money to place bets. One naira I didn't see.

Then recently, in the office where I worked, a man introduced to an investment where he said he trusted the young chap. The young man had an office and a business. Along the line, after the investment, 100k, the man couldn't pay anything he promised. Even the money we used for investment we didn't see. I swear this one devastated me, because I felt I had grown and would no longer make stupid decisions. Lo and behold.

There are more that I don't want to talk about.

Tell us about your scamming history? Have you ever been scammed and lost some money? How did you feel?

Why do you think so? Plateau has been having security issues ... And again, the state government doesn't pay and it's not industrialized or even business friendly. The only thing it can boast of is weather.

NYSC / 10 Best States To Choose For NYSC, To Make Money Or Get A Job After NYSC by obrien29(m): 1:36am On Nov 30, 2020
So, on our list of 10 best states to choose for NYSC are states you have access to jobs and businesses; states where you can easily settle after the program as they have good standard of living, and you can make money or get a job in them.

Nevertheless, that we focused on jobs and businesses doesn’t mean we neglected other factors like security, cost of living and interactive capacity of the host states. We also included other factors as well. While jobs and businesses are the priority, we also let other factors serve as part of determinants of our choice.

10 Best States to Choose for NYSC

Lagos
We know most of you expected this to be our number one, and here it is. It is a little bit overflogged that Lagos is the number one destination for intending corp members, but it’s just the fact. Lagos is hyped, and if not overhyped, but it is worth it and more.

The reason why Lagos continues to be on top of the list of 10 best states to choose for NYSC, and to make money or get a job, is quite obvious.

One, Lagos is the commercial center of Nigeria. It is where most, or approximately more than 50% of the country’s business transactions occur. Most businesses in Nigeria have their head offices in Lagos. It is home to Nigeria’s largest seaports, airports, markets, buildings and population.

Two, due to having Lagos as the commercial center of Nigeria, it is easier to get jobs here. Most graduates can attest to it that over 60% of job opportunities in Nigeria are found in Lagos. You’ll want to serve and get a job along with it.

Three, in most places in Lagos, cost of living is cheap. We aren’t talking of all these highbrow areas like Lekki or Banana Island. It’s actually easy for a corper to survive in Lagos than some other Nigerian cities. Food is very cheap in Lagos. Clothes, electronics, transport and housing are cheap in most places.

Four, Lagos is home to the elite of the elites in Nigeria. As a youth corp member, you may meet someone that know someone who knows someone, you may never know. In fact, to show you how good Lagos is, 75% of Nigerian dollar billionaires live in Lagos.

Lagos is a great choice if you’re about making decision on the states to serve. It will give you most of the things you require as a corp member. However, Lagos is the most difficult to get among our 10 best states to choose for NYSC, and to make money or get a job. Lagos is so competitive as most corp members choose Lagos as their number one choice.

To get Lagos as your state of service is very difficult.

It is worthwhile to serve in Lagos as there are more benefits in this state than in most other states.

State Salary/Allawee: Lagos State Government pays an average of 10,000 naira monthly. Nevertheless, if you are posted to some private workplaces called Place of Primary Assignment (PPA), you can get paid as high as 70,000 naira and an average of 30,000 naira.

Ogun
On our number two is one of the largest state in Nigeria, Ogun State. Due to its nearness to Lagos, the state gets lots of investments, companies and businesses. The businesses in Ogun State are largely factories and places of production along Sangotedo, Igbesa and Agbara axis of the state.

Most companies have their factories situated in Ogun State, even one of Dangote’s plant is in Ogun State. It is a heavily industrialized state.

However, we’ll advise those whose courses are connected to anything technical to try it out rather than those in the social sciences or arts. This doesn’t mean that there are no opportunities for those in the art and social sciences sectors. There are opportunities for every course, but most of the establishments in this state are factories in need of technical courses.

Instead of choosing a more competitive Lagos that is difficult to get, you should choose Ogun State. The cost of living in the state is cheap, the people are sociable and nice, and there are job and business opportunities. Since it is also closer to Lagos, you can easily connect to Lagos for other job opportunities.

State Salary/Allawee: Ogun State Government does not pay corpers in case you are posted to government institutions and schools. Private businesses in the state pay corpers as high as 35,000 naira and an average of 15,000 naira.

3. Abuja (FCT)
This is the capital of the country. This stands as a solid choice in our 10 best states to choose for NYSC and to make money or get a job. It is the country’s capital; due to this, it draws a large population and businesses to itself.

For a corp member considering choosing Abuja as a choice for NYSC, the person should be careful for its high cost of living. Abuja is close to anywhere you want to go in Nigeria, and there are lot more opportunities here than in most states in Nigeria, but it is very expensive.

This state made our number three considering the opportunities it has. There are lots of head offices in Abuja, and if you’re the kind that would love working in a government institution after NYSC, Abuja is the right choice for you.

State Salary/Allawee: Abuja does not pay corpers. However, private businesses that take in corpers can pay as high as 40,000 naira and an average of 20,000 naira.

4. Rivers
This state houses the richest Local Government in Nigeria, Obi-Akpor LGA, which covers most of Port Harcourt city. Rivers is considered as the heart of Nigerian Petroleum Industry, and as such the state is very rich.

The truth of the matter is that although the state maybe the center of oil in Nigeria, they aren’t wealthy as you may think. Anyway, Rivers is still an economically viable state. It is a wise choice to put Rivers as one of your destination of settlement, relocation or NYSC choice.

Rivers is populated and industrialized to a great extent. For those who studied engineering, petroleum/chemical engineering in particular, this is one of the best state to consider to choose for NYSC. There a lot of industries that would need your services.

You must note that the cost of living in this state is high. It is also not that secured as there are constant reports of violence. However, the economic survivability is good, and thus makes the state promising for corpers.

State Salary/Allawee: Rivers State Government claims to pay youth corp members 15,000 naira monthly. There is no constant payment of this. Private businesses in the state can pay corpers as high as 50,000 naira and an average of 30,000 naira.

5. Kano
This is the first northern state mentioned so far. It is considered as the heart of Northern Nigeria as it is heavily industrialized compared to the other northern states. Aside its industrialization, this state is the home of wealthy elites of Nigeria like the Dangote and Dantata family and many prospering markets.

This state is heavily populated. Aside religious misunderstanding here and there, it is equally secured. Businesses that aren’t against the belief of its people thrives very well here. The cost of living is very cheap. Housing, food, clothes, transport are all very cheap here.

We propose this state to those enterprising intending corpers. This state is very good for business, especially for people who are still starting up. It is also not bad for people looking towards securing jobs after NYSC as there are jobs as well.

State Salary/Allawee: Kano pays corpers 5,000 naira monthly. Private businesses in the state can pay as high as 20,000 naira and an average of 10,000 naira.

6. Delta
This state was created in the 90s. The state capital, Asaba, is one of the most developing cities in Nigeria. As a developing state, cost of living in the state is not high. There also some industries in the state, and it is an oil rich state.

The major cities in the state are Warri, Sapele and Asaba. Living in these cities is affordable, and there are industries and heavy businesses in them. Securing a job here after NYSC is not too difficult. The state is secure.

For those who are interested in working in petroleum sector, they should consider working towards getting placement to the oil rich city of Warri.

State Salary/Allawee: The state pays 5,000 monthly. Private businesses in the state pays corpers as high as 35,000 naira and an average of 15,000 naira.

7. Anambra
This state houses the biggest market in West Africa, Onitsha Main Market. It also houses the biggest spare parts market in Nigeria at Nnewi. There are industries in the state owned largely by indigenes of the state; they’re scattered in the state.

Anambra is not only a trading state, it is also industrialized. The cost of living in this state is one of the cheapest you can get in Southern Nigeria. It is secure. However, there are cases of petty robbery and stealing in Onitsha.

This should be one of top destination for an enterprising intending corper. It is good for business as any business sells here. Doing business in this state is not expensive at all. This state is also good for people who would look for jobs after NYSC.

This state is solid in our best states to choose for NYSC and make money or get a job.

State Salary/Allawee: Anambra, at the moment, is the highest paying state for corpers. They pay 8,000 naira monthly to the corpers serving in her institutions. Private businesses can pay as high as 30,000 naira and an average of 15,000 naira.

8. Akwa Ibom
Akwa Ibom is the highest oil producing state in Nigeria. There are top oil companies like Mobile in the state. It is also a beautiful state with sociable people.

This state should be a destination for enterprising corpers and those who will look for jobs after NYSC. Aside that the state pays well, it is also a very calm, beautiful place to reside with her recent urban development and tourist sites.

The cost of living in the state is average. There is good security in the state and businesses thrive here. Serving in Akwa Ibom is a decision worth making.

State Salary/Allawee: Akwa Ibom pays corpers 5,000 naira monthly. Private businesses in the state pays as high as 35,000 naira and an average of 15,000 naira.

9. Enugu
Enugu is “the coal city state.” It was one of the first regional capitals even before Nigeria’s independence. It is a peaceful and prosperous state.

The cost of living in the state is average, although it is high in Enugu, the state’s capital. The state is secure. There are a handful of industries scattered here and there, but the major source of income for most indigenes is government revenue.

This state is one of the top destination for intending corpers who want a very secured environment good for any kind of business. The state is favorable to businesses. There also jobs in the state.

State Salary/Allawee: Enugu State government pays corpers 4,000 naira monthly for those in rural areas, and 1,000 naira for those in urban areas. Private businesses in the state can pay as high as 30,000 naira and average of 15,000 naira.

10. Nasarrawa
Nasarrawa is very close to Abuja. Just like Ogun State has good investments due to its nearness to Lagos, so does Nasarrawa for its nearness to Abuja. This state has low cost of living, and it is secure. It is a good choice of the best states to choose for NYSC and make money or get a job.

A large part of this state is Christian, so it won’t be difficult for a Southerner as it is not really a core Islamic state. In some of their towns like Akwanga, majority of the indigenes are Christians. Aside their compatible religion for Nigerians from the south, the state is good for business and jobs. Businesses thrive in this state, especially Agricultural businesses. Their land and weather is good for any form of Agricultural business.

State Salary/Allawee: The state government pays 3,000 monthly to corpers. Private businesses in the state can corpers as high as 30,000 naira and an average of 10,000 naira.

Politics / A Nairalander's Prediction Of 2019 Federal Elections On 16th February, 2019 by obrien29(m): 3:15pm On Feb 03, 2019
The federal elections are just 13 days away, and many people or organizations have made their predictions. It is pertinent that predictions continue to pour in as Nigeria gears up for an election which would take the Fourth Republic of the country to its third decade. This election is very important, because of how it will define the future of the democracy in the country.

And there are two major parties contesting for the seat of the president, APC, the ruling party, and PDP, the major opposition party. There are other parties who would get a considerable percentage of votes like AAC, YPP and People's Trust, but for this prediction, I'll focus on the two major parties.

As the campaigns draws to a close, Nigerians have become confused on what to 'peg' as the determinant of a candidate's credibility and acceptance. The two major parties seem to be pulling equal amount of crowd. Nevertheless, there must be a winner after the election regardless of the crowd posted online as supporters. This prediction will be done regionally insted of states. It is practically the same thing, or nearly similar.

This is how the regions will vote:

1. South West: This region has the second highest number of voters. 14 million+. APC will win this region, because they are in total control of region and the Osibanjo factor. Their highest win may be in Oyo where they would pull 65 percent votes, and lowest may be Osun State where they would pull 54 percent votes cast. They will win all the states. PDP will get average of 43 percent votes.

2. North West: APC will win the largest voting region again as they did in 2015, but no TSUNAMI this time around. Their candidate is from here. Kano's result won't be a walk over anymore, PDP will get up to 35 percent. PDP will win Sokoto with a very slim margin, 52 percent perhaps. Other states is for APC. PDP will get up to 34 percent of votes cast here.

3. North Central: PDP will conquer this region with a slim margin. Leave all the online polls, PDP is winning Kwara, and Plateau, Benue and Nassarawa. APC is winning Kogi and Niger. APC will get up to 48 percent.

4. North East: APC may win Atiku's region, but there wouldn't be a TSUNAMI. PDP will win Taraba and Adamawa, and APC will win the rest of the states in the region. PDP will get up to 40 percent here.

5. South East: Leave all the Governors' palavar and wahala, PDP is winning all states here, including Imo and Anambra states in the hands of other parties. The biggest margin, although with least number, will be Ebonyi where PDP will get up to 93 percent votes cast. The lowest will be Imo where PDP will get up to 75 percent. APC is getting an average of 17 percent. NOTE: There will be slight voter apathy in this region, but the numbers will be higher than the one of 2015.

6. South South: PDP may win all states in this region, including Edo State, the state of APC chairman. The lowest percentage will come from Edo, 60 percent, and the higest will be Bayelsa with 88 percent, although with least voters in the region. APC will get up to 27 percent of votes cast.

NOTE: This prediction is FICTION, and therefore, it should not be used as the FACT.

Through the prediction by regions and registered number of voters and voters willingness to vote according to regions, calaculate who will win and make a comment.
