GavelSlam: I would have loved to analyse that graph as it is my thing, but like I said earlier, I've never been to America, so overkilling it would not be too smart. Even at $23k per year. That's like $2k per month which is around #600k monthly, about 30 times his/her counterpart in Nigeria. Easier to do menial jobs for that reason. |

Well, dribbling is for entertainment. How the dribbling helps the team goals is what really matters. Hazard didn't justify his No. 1 status today sha. And Ronaldo's goal vs Getafe yesterday didn't justify him being left out. Every dog has its day. As for those wey dey call Ronaldo poacher, you need football manager in your life. 14 Likes 1 Share |

IamaNigerianGuy: It is not everyone who eats palm kernel that goes about with a grinding stone dangling from his neck. I can't say why the man still needed another interpretation, but if anything, that reply is sound enough to motivate him to believe in the doctor's methods; and hopefully motivate him to raise cash if money is a problem. My friends in the medical field always emphasize on the dangers of online prescription/diagnosis. However, a stitch in time.. |

Politics / Re: Anambra Govt Bans Use Of Motorcycles After 7pm by ObservantFellow: 7:30pm On Mar 04, 2018 |
So for areas that have bad roads, would having to walk now make them safer? Those that profit from putting in extra late hours to make ends meet would now pay for the vices of other less honest countrymen. Can they be blamed for increasing their daytime fares as so? As long as those thieving fellows have no better place to channel their productive energy, they'ld always see crime as an option. The government still needs to empower them; and those whose livelihood may be affected by this decision. 6 Likes |

goaldynboy: GavelSlam: jamjo: First and foremost, my point in essence is that one makes more money doing those jobs elsewhere; USA in this case. I've never been to America before, so I may have gotten my figures wrong, but don't think I made a blind estimate out of ignorance. With the description in the answer given by that fellow, he talked about the man's stamina on the job. I estimated 18 - 20 hr work input daily for a month. Closing hour would of course further reduce that sum. Anyways, The figure I used was estimated from this simple Google search: https://www.indeed.com/salaries/Dishwasher-Salaries

t00dugged: Take the dishwasher job for example.. In Nigeria, that ranges from #5,000 to #20,000 monthly in a city. In America, with their hourly pay can easily give one $5,000 - $6,000 monthly. That's at least #1.5m in Nigeria's current clime. Difficult to blame their choices sha 117 Likes 6 Shares |

Yeah. It's easier to get paid well for your sweat there, hence the decision to give their all. The motivation to fo the same at their home country isn't the same because your salary is just one of the many problems. Patriotism is just secondary may be off but then, bills are to be paid. I think they're just after meeting their basic needs; It's when this has been done that patriotism can become an option. 4 Likes |

Somebody somewhere would be in a hurry to type mediocre Forgetting that firewoods are still top sellers in our own country That's one of the reasons we have refused to leave this elementary economic stage Instead of us to industrialize our country according to our strengths and raw materials. We prefer to carelessly compare ourselves to the technological achievements of those that have gone beyond our stage eons ago And type 'mediocre' while giving nothing significant to the country's advancement 60 Likes 6 Shares |

MikeBetty: That's hardly what I would describe as setting the pace. I don't think that is a negative term. But you are blowing a simplistic idea out of proportions. There is no justification why a Diocesan head should be transformed into an award for loyalty by a certain faction in the Church. Propaganda won't work here. It's not a matter of being an Mbaise Priest. Not even a matter of being an Igbo Priest. Let the Bishop be one who has experience how the Diocese is run. That is pretty straightforward. So many of them had spawned in the Diocese over so many years. If the faction decides to punish Mbaise preists, ignoring the voice of the church (the masses in the Diocese), then it is no different from their earlier plot. However, the people have refused to be dumb sheeple. |
