FamilyRe: My Husband Is Always Running by obuji: 6:47pm On Jul 11, 2013
There is a big difference between walking away from trouble and running away from the house. What makes you a man if you can run away from your own rightful home for a week, 2 weeks, one month? That's crazy.
Is so silly how you guys are already passing judgment on the lady. Even if she has sharp mouth, any man who was not expecting that from his wife is not yet ready to settle down.
And how do you expect the woman to have already knew the kind of man he was? Even if they did date, was it marriage.
I blame the man for not being a man. He should take charge and correct all correctables or endure the uncorrectables.
Can you imagine goodluck Jonathan running away from Nigeria because there are so many crisis all the time??
PoliticsRe: Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria's Strictest Leader by obuji: 8:41pm On Jul 10, 2013
I am ibo. I have read enough of this man both good and bad. I believe that Buhari has what it takes to change the corruption names written all over the face of our dear country. This issue of corruption has been the only major problem weighing our progress down.
So regardless of his age and his religion, if he can do this job, please let's give him the chance.
I will vote for him if he comes out as a presidential candidate come 2015. That is If my vote will count..
PoliticsRe: Women Join Hunt For Boko-Haram Suspects In Borno by obuji: 1:16am On Jul 09, 2013
Why do we always want to do the wrong thing all the time . Why hiring or recruiting civilians for a military job. Where as we have able body youths who wants to join the military. Or why not recruit them as military instead?
To me it so uncivilized to see civilians both female and men carrying arms in the name of fighting terrorists.

TravelRe: The Truth About Living Abroad by obuji: 4:19am On Dec 15, 2012
May will say i'm being selfish, or 'dont want them to come' as most of our people do when I or any american born Nigeria tells them that they're wasting their time trying to come here. I figured I leave the truth out here because many of our people are dying, and ending up in prisons, more importantly committing unnesscary acts of desperation in the name of obodo oyibo while many that live here are trying to go back to Nigeria because they know the truth.

If you can make it in the US, you can make it in Nigeria

We too often attribute success to geographic location. While location is important for many things and some environments are more conducive than others, the US is not the place to come if you want to be rich, and more importantly if you want to be rich AVOID europe. The reason is because this is the land of the middle class. Going to school and working hard is going to land you in the middle class. You will live in a modest home, drive a modest car, and be able to cloth and feed yourself well. This is not rich. The problem in Nigeria is the middle class is rare so people don't know what it is.
Middle class people buy everything using loans for the bank. That's what you have to do in america. You don't own your home, you don't own your car, and you have to pay thousands for school after you finish. This is how many Nigerian Americans get 'trapped' in the US. Because they are middle class they can't pay off these loans quickly and it often takes decades to be debt free, but nearly all americans are in debt.
This is why many can't return as freely as they wish, and why many are dying from stress. In the US it's difficult to become rich for a black person. If you want to be rich here you start a business and hope it work, but there are so many businesses doing so many things that have been around for literally 100-50 years and are worth billions that it's hopeless to start because they will easily crush you.

Europe is even worst. Europe is a socialist system with very high taxes that keeps anyone from being too rich or too poor. You will live in comfort in the US and Europe but it's not a land of 'wealth', it's a land of order and function.

Those Nigerians that make it in the US or Europe are actually a rare and special breed. They have drive, a vision, opportunity and most importantly a plan. I will say that anyone with these traits will make it in Nigeria as well. The difference is your money goes further in Nigeria than it does in the US. A person worth 1 million USD in New York can still struggle to pay bills because they're so high. If you have 5000 USD in Nigeria you can live like Jay-z half a year.

Returnee Nigerians are Liars
Many Nigerians return from the west with sll types of clothes, new cars, and begin building homes in their villages. They create the illusion that they've 'made it', and use their return to flaunt their 'wealth' instead of helping their brethren. This is a lie. Don't believe them. These people know 2-3 years in advance they're going to Nigeria. It's then that they begin saving the money they will use to show off for December. I've know many that go to the bank and acquire loans so that they can buy objects they'll use to fake as if they're rich in Nigeria. Many will neglect their bills and debts so that they can keep up the image of someone that is rich in Nigeria. Many of the people in Nigeria flaunting are poor people.
This is the home of a Nigerian American i know
https://img2-2.timeinc.net/toh/i/g/houses/0209-radical-cheap/01-Detroit-bungalow.jpg

but they will behave as if they're Donald trump upon returning. This creates a false image that everyone in the Us, or even the majority of people have a lot of money. It's a lie. This is a very expensive place to live and most people are modest.

The Richest Nigerians are in Nigeria
As i said the place to look for wealth isn't in a new land. By the time you're done learning the customs and way things work here you'll be 50. You know Nigeria, you know the way it works, though few want to admit it you can make it in Nigeria. The richest nigerians in the world are from Nigeria, and don't bother themselves with the US. If you look at somebody like Dangote, Adenuga etc you will see they have one devious but consistent thing in common: connections to those in power. As a black person, and more importantly a Nigeria, you have to understand those in power are white and have no business bothering themselves with you. At least in Nigeria you can climb the social ladder more freely, you can't here. To become rich in America you need a great idea, something nobody has ever done before like an invention or a service and it has to make sense to the demand. If you have one of these....you'll make it in Nigeria as well.

Not Every Country is Rich, Be careful

Many people think any country with white faces is the US, and all European countries are good. BE CAREFUL this is a lie
Canada
US
UK
Australia
New Zealand

are the only country i would suggest for anyone. The rest are extremely dangerous and the people there have a hard time achieving anything due to poor economies and racism. Israel, Poland, Spain, Italy are all place that look nicer than Nigeria but suffer from the same unemployment and corruption. Many Nigerians feel they will get someone going to China not knowing that there are more unemployed Chinese than there are human beings in Nigeria. If you're not going to any of the countries on the list, don't waste your time. Many are going to places more corrupt and downtrodden than Nigeria like Russia where the poor remain poor for ever and the rich are rich forever. more importantly DO YOUR RESEARCH. I recently had a friend go to Yemen. Yemen is not only poorer than Nigeria but is one of the worlds more war torn nations. Many nigerians will go somewhere without knowing the name of the countries president. Not every oyibo country is 'ala beke'. Many might as well be in Africa. Be careful!

Don't come here for the wrong reasons.

If you want a quality education for the sake of knowing more (not getting rich), a stable consistent life, 24 hour power, stable employment, good health care, good infrastructure, and a life of routine and order this is the best place in the world to be. If you want to be extraordinarily rich, a 'big man/woman', relaxed, to have fun in life, have children that will carry on your name and culture, or even important back home, stay home. You can want all of these things but you can't have them all. Many Nigerians believe they can come here and enjoy the benefits without suffering the pitfalls, this isn't true. Most Nigerians in the west are stressed, unhappy, lonely, feel as if they don't belong, struggling, and have children that most likely won't take care of them when they're old. Many are very rich as well and have done well for themselves but they would have done the same back home. Even with 24/7 power supply you'll come to find that you'd rather be eating egusi in the dark because a lot of the west isn't worth it if you come for the wrong reasons.

Like i said, many have made it and this is a great place to live and raise children. It's not a place to become 'rich' but it's a good place to have a reasonable life without too much unpredictability. If you can't make it in Nigeria, you can't make it here, that's plain and simple and by the time you learn what it takes to make it here, it'll be too late. and again, be careful where you go, only a hand full of countries are better than Nigeria, i mean it.
op is totally lost some where in the state. He does not sound like some one who is ambitious at all. Be you in Nigeria , china, usa or congo. success only comes to people who are Ambitious. you must have a Dream.. in fact Bigger Dreams.. followed by plans.. Then wills comes with strong desire,.. put it in work .. and keep trying ...The result will be SUCCESS... But then, the has to be a fair level playing ground for your dream to come through...
you said " IF YOU CAN MAKE IT IN US,.. YOU ALSO MAKE IT IN NIGERIA..... BUT I SAY.. IF YOU CAN MAKE IT IN NIGERIA... YOU CAN MAKE IT TIMES..TWO IN US...
reasons are..
there are lots of opportunities, security, lagger market, steady power supply, good roads, heath Insurance, Standard education, NO BRIBE before you get a job, name it bro..
Stop spreading wrong news to our potential youths. The only thing you can say is, make sure you come to state with your papers or be ready to face the music... which means delay in actualization of your dreams. it may take 3,5,10,15,20 years to get your green card. but once you get your green card, my brother the sky is your limit. That is if and only if you are ambitious with bigger dreams. you can do any thing in USA to get to where you want to be.. Be it school, cab driving, Jobs, what ever..
Instead of staying in nigeria doing kidnapping, Armed robbing, Internet frauds, Exams Malpractice special centers, looting civilians money, etc..
The fact is this..if you come to this great country with green card, you are automatically a government property and you are entitled to free house, free food, Tuition assistance, and free medications.. But the question is, Is that the kind of life an average Naija Guy wants to leave?.. the answer is NO!! so GUYS gats to hustle..
if you say you can not make millions in US..that is your own shallow dream... Do not think every person is like you. there are Nigeians in US who are counting millions.. What you should be busy asking is HOW CAN I MAKE IT IN US??.. not illegal ways, there are RIGHT AND SMART WAYS OF DOING IT....
If your Aunts BSC was not accepted here in state.. the must be something wrong with it.. or in fact you guys are mixing with the wrong people...I am doing my masters degrees In Information technology with my NIgerian HND!!!!..Government pays my school fees and I still make salary more then 5k dollars every month with free medications, VA loan waiting for me, plus GI Bill worth of 65k dollars waiting for me.. And I have only been in state for just 3 yrs.. I am a Citizen, so i can bring all my blood brothers and sister including parents....Many of my school mates who graduated before and with me in Nigeria are still begging me for 100 dollars every now and then cos there is no JOBS>>>>...some of them that got jobs are only making like 1/10th of my salary..
RICHNESS HAS NO MEASURE OR YARDSTICK. But I can tell you that I am a happy man, My family back home are so proud of me... I am taking care of them as much as I can,..
I can go on and On and On to tell you how Good USA is to me even though people are saying is not as good as what it use to be...
IF USA go down economically, other countries will go down with HER... how much more NIgeria..?
IF YOU PAY ME 2000K DOLLARS MORE THAN WHAT I MAKE MONTHLY TO LEAVE IN NIGERIA... GUESS WHAT? I WILL TURN IT DOWN.. BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAID THAT " LIFE IS PRECIOUS THAN what to feed it with...""
( thats applicable to NIGERIAn Environment ).
I even heard you say that if you have 5000k dollars in nigeria, you can leave like JAY Z for how long?.. hahahahahah.. What have you been drinking?... were you trying to say leave like 2face?
My bros Abeg..Biko...
