DIGITAL COMPLAINT SYSTEM: The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Prof. Godwin Onu has unveiled a Website (DCS) to monitor the lapses of both Teaching and Non-Teaching staff of the Institution. The site was officially unveiled this afternoon. It had been a usual thing in almost all the Universities and Polytechnics in Nigeria for staff to feel reluctant in attending to students' needs. An alarming situation where a student will spend almost 4 months in computing his or her result just because of the laxity of the staff in charge. Students queue up long enough under the Sun just to change their Deposit Tellers into receipts, while the staff in charge sits and engages in cock and bull stories with fellow staff instead of attending to the waiting students. Some Lecturers don't come to classes more than 4 times in a Semester but will force students to buy textbooks at inflated rates. Frowning seriously at all these staff lousiness, the Rector who is known for his digitization prowess and practice has started his 2016 in the Polytechnic with Student-Sensitive programs. He says the happiness and comfort of his students are his topmost priority of the year and needs direct complaints and reports from his dear students through the DCS(Digital Complaint System). He says he wants to listen to student's challenges and personally attend to them squarely without minding whose Ox is gored. Please tell your loved ones in Federal Polytechnic Oko that a maximum solution to their 'dying in silence' is here. Tell your loved ones in Federal Polytechnic Oko that they can now communicate with the Rector in real time in-case he or she is molested by any Lecturer or staff without any trace to his or her identity. Tell your loved ones that they can report any duty negligence meted on them by any staff to the Rector himself. To protect the image of the students, the site has an Anonymous option where one can report any staff without his Identity being shown. One can also attach pictorial evidence to one's report if any is handy. This is good news if other institutions can put in place, such Digital Complaint System. The platform is www.meetyourrector.com

AN Akure High Court, yesterday, sentenced two domestic staff of former Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA, Professor Albert Ilemobade, to death by hanging. The convicts, Daniel Itah Effiong and Bamitale Olayemi, were the security/gate man of the 79-year-old former Professor of Veterinary Medicine, and driver, respectively. Delivering judgement, Justice Williams Olamide found them guilty of the three-count charge of conspiracy to murder, murder and robbery. They were accused of strangulating the deceased to death in his residence at Ijapo Estate, Akure, Ondo State, on June 21, 2015, and stole his Toyota RAV 4, 2013 model and N7000. The offence, according to the prosecutor, who is the State Director of Public Prosecution, Mrs Adejoke Tuki, was contrary to and punishable under Section 324 of the Criminal Code Cap.37 Vol. 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006. Justice Olamide, in his judgement which lasted about two hours, held that the prosecution was able to establish and prove the case against the former domestic staff of the late professor beyond reasonable doubt and to the satisfaction of the court. He declared: “The accused persons were callous, wicked and inconsiderate when they decided to sniff out life of an elderly person and their benefactor over his property. Against this backdrop, the accused persons do not deserve the sympathy or mercy of this court.

xMrPx:Are you a Nigerian at all? You are hearing Nwafor Orizu for the first time, then you a poor in the historical knowledge. Nigeria's second Senate President from November 16, 1960 to January 15, 1966, during the Nigerian First Republic was Dr. Akwaeke Nwafor Orizu From Nnewi, Anambra state. |
The foremost educationist and former Senate President of Nigeria, Chief Nwafor Orizu, of blessed memory, was an Nnewi man. At a time many of the communities across the country can not boast of a single motor car, the town already had a multi millionaire in the person of Chief Ojukwu whose luxury car was used to convey the visiting Queen of England round the country when she visited Nigeria many decades ago. Nnewi is made up of four quarters, Otolo, Uruagu, Umudim and Nnewichi, with each of the independent but interrelated communities in the town having its own Obi. Otolo-Nnewi, however, produces the paramount traditional ruler of the town in the Orizu royal family. The succession system is hereditary which automatically removes the tension and acrimony associated with installation of a new king in Igboland in particular and Nigeria in general. It has insulated the kingship from opening it up for the highest bidder. When destiny beckoned on Igwe Dr Kenneth Orizu 111 to mount the throne of his fathers 52 years ago, it was obvious that the man with the Midas touch would turn things around in the then sleepy community. Igwe Nnewi was instrumental to the establishment of the Nnewi main market after the idea was mooted by Dim Chukwemeka Ojukwu(Ikemba Nnewi) of blessed memory. The paramount traditional ruler also played a pivotal role in the industrialization of the town as he single-handedly carried the gospel of transiting from buying and selling to the setting up of industries to the affluent ones in his town. He assisted many industrialists to get land for the smooth take of their outfits. The royal father, while talking about his staying power, said: “ It was God that helped me but then I worked very hard because I knew that if I must break the poverty circle, I must work very hard. I was ready to do just anything with my hands even if it was laboring to make money for myself. My salary was less than nine pounds when I joined Outlook Newspapers but it rose to 52 pounds before I left in 1962.” Orizu was instrumental to the bringing of electricity, post office and an educational institution to Nnewi which today has assumed the status of a city. Orizu, while commenting on his experience as a royal father, stated.“ I can not say it has been rosy. Moments after I became Igwe, I got so bored. I would sit down here from morning till night. I could not move round freely which was quite different with my kind of person who could not stay in a particular place for long. My movement became too restricted for my liking. As early as 7 am, people would start bringing cases to be resolved. I had great responsibilities as Igwe Nnewi because I was in charge of 25 towns; that was before the mass recognition of traditional rulers in the second republic. I would have rather preferred to be a laborer or anything that would fetch me money and allow me to move round freely. It was not fun sitting down here all day. The other challenge, apart from sitting here, is that of the people that wanted four kings for Nnewi but our progenitors knew why they said it would be one and hereditary.” Igwe Orizu has celebrated his 90th birthday and his 52 years on the throne since 2015, making him the longest reigning traditional ruler in Africa. 'You have been compensated with N5000 valid for 7 days. To activate, please visit any MTN Registration outlet to update your biometrics. Dial *559*40# to check' Must Nigerians go through all these sufferings to get their bio-metric data updated? MTN recently started sharing unusable credits to selected customers as a bait to get their bio-metric data updated. People are made to enter the code “*559*40# “to confirm the silly bonus. When you dial the above code, a confirmation text would be sent to you that you have been given a bonus of #20,000, #10,000 or #5,000 credit respectively, depending on how you recharge. The bonus does not reflect when you check your balance. One is expected to go to a nearby MTN office to update his bio-metric data or re-register his or her SIM before the bonus reflects in his or her call credit balance. Early this morning, hundreds of people were seen boarding buses to MTN offices for the bio-metric updates as to have a workable bonus. The situation was very embarrassing as many customers who had received same message from MTN were seen trying to register but to no avail. Even aged and sick people were seen under the sun unattended to for several hours. MTN!!! Why not release an online Channel through which people can get themselves registered. I guess you can’t do this for the sake of data theft. Ok, why not recruit professionals and spread them around the localities of the states for this purpose. Must you suffer people? I don’t know how many times you guys would be sanctioned to learn, because the situation here can cause a deadly stampede. I don’t know about your area, but it is so terrible in Anambra Centers.

Hello Pals! It is always disturbing if not disgusting, to open your email and see thousands of facebook, twitter, Instagram and other social network posts from your both your known or anonymous friends. If they upload a new picture, it will come to your inbox and block spaces. Even if you delete as many as 400, in your next login it will increase to 500 messages. This makes people uncomfortable to trace genuine mails sent to them by ordinary people. If you do not want to be receiving facebook messages or updates in your mail box simply unsubscribe by doing this: -Login to your mail box -Click on Inbox -Open any facebook mail -Scroll down below the "View post" command button -You will find a text as thus "This message was sent to obynoses@yahoo.com or bla bla bla. If you don't want to receive these emails from Facebook in the future, please unsubscribe. Facebook, Inc., Attention: Community Support, Menlo Park, CA 94025" - The "Unsubscribe" text above is a hyperlink, just click on it. -At this point, you would be taken to facebook environment -Click on the "Confirm" button to unsubscribe. This is not only for facebook mails but other mails. It does not stop you from getting updates but it would not get to your email box any longer. It is the same process to unsubscribe for Twitter, Instagram or any other social network messages. Thanks and have a fruitful internet surfing. From Otuu! |
Fireworks causes global warming in Onitsha as the news of Nnamdi Kalu's freedom filters the air through radio biafra. Men and women were seen dancing along major streets of onitsha while chanting war songs. In fact, every place is agog in celebration. Sounds of fireworks (Knockout) is heard from all locations. Also, the security men that blocked all the riot-prone junctions in Onitsha have been withdrawn as they were nowhere to be found. Close to zenith bank at new spare parts market, men are seen going direct to the refrigerators of nearby beer parlors to pick drinks while the leader of the market pays the bill. Channels TV confirmed this and reported that he was released unconditionally. source:http://obiozontus..com.ng/2015/12/nnamdi-kalu-is-out-of-detention.html

To upcoming Politicians, It is better to watch-clean your hands than act deaf and dumb on a chair: Many elected persons into the National Assembly under the PDP have turned deaf and dumb in the green and red houses respectively. Unlike Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, many, including known talkatives have become too mum for fear of being hunted using the courts or the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC against them. A source disclosed that with the way and manner the Court of Appeal was going with election cases, it was better for them to remain silent and continue with the job of lawmaking, just as some cited cases of Benue ruling where there was call for a re-run in Benue South Senatorial district to hurt former Senate President David Mark who has not even criticized the present government, another rerun in Abia North where Senator Mao Ohuabunwa has been representing as well as Uche Ekwunife, Anambra Central, George Sekibo, Rivers East, among others. A senator who revealed to Vanguard this morning that, “the rulings in the Courts to frustrate elected PDP law makers were alarming, look at former Senate President David Mark whose case was not with the figures, but dates, look at Anambra Central, look at Abia North, look at the Taraba ruling and the removal of Senator George Sekibo, we are worried and the ruling party wants to cage us, we are afraid to talk, it may be the turn of another person. It is better to keep quiet in this case. Look at Rivers, look at Kogi, Bayelsa, we are afraid.” Imagine that! This means that APC members have the right to pounce on any lawmaker and go free.Hahaha! This is too funny. It has a lot to teach us down here. Keep your hands clean in your havens and environs so that nothing can be used against you in your future political carrier. Each time I watch the NA seating, I observe vibrant lawmakers we knew at States level acting so dumb. They don’t say a word or move good motions, all they care is to stay there, act mugu and receive lump sum at the end of every month. This can only dent ones political image. It is better you act that great Tiger and change the country for good. Talk good and Nigerians will notice your relevance and if the hunters come, the electorates would protect you.My opinion.

APC wants Bayelsa by all means from one door and PDP in the other door is knocking to return to the room likewise in Kogi state. Indeed, these elections would serve as another test for the new INEC boss. Report reaching us now from Channels T.V says peace and calmness are noticed in most polling units in both states. The time for voting also has been announced by poll officers as at the time of filling this report. Lets hope for a rancor free exercise as results would soon start flying into my box for your optical and cognitive consumption. source:http://obiozontus..com.ng/2015/12/bayelsa-and-kogi-polls-calm.html

A minister of state presides over the ministry as it concerns the 36 states in Nigeria. But a minister supervises all the entire ministries of Nigeria as a Federal entity. The minister for state works under the Minister. In other words, the minister gets reports from the minister of states before he swings into actions. Example: A minister for state for health goes down the tiers of government to check the excesses of the hospital admins on state hospitals in Nigeria while the Minister for health focuses mostly on Federal hospitals. Without Minister for states, the Governors can make policies to affect the citizens. But with it, the minister of states can intervene for the citizens of Nigeria in that state. |
You want MTN to pay you billions of fines (5.2bn dollars) yet you don't have any modality to checkmate their data rates afterwards. NCC is just suffering Nigerians in disguise. An MTN subscriber can not even browse with N100 worth of data bundle for an hour and they will tell you that you have 1MB left of your supposed 10MB data. What a loophole? If NCC can not curb the excesses of MTN data rate, they better not fine them, else, unsuspecting Nigerians will pay the fine unknowingly. I just paid almost N800 between Sunday and today.

Right now, Obosi Community is in disarray as JTF lunches arrests on youth suspected to be cultists. Men of Anambra vigilante group (AVG) were judged as better prepared as they were seen unveiling charms of different faces as they engaged with some stubborn cultists while police men were behind in more than 25 patrol vans watching the combatants. The youth in solidarity with the security operatives have set the road agog with chants of "No more cultism! No more cultism". Minaj photojournalists are well positioned in their coverage of the quagmire.

The power sector is nothing to write home about especially in the eastern part of the country. The EEDC especially the one of Ogidi district is bent on reaping where it did not sow. I am taking a paradigm of one Unic Estate in Ogidi where people hardly see light. The opposite Estate to Unic estate (Diamond) is most times having light because they have prepaid metres installed in the buildings. This is because, with prepaid metres, the EEDC gain whenever light is constantly on. You don’t expect the metres to read a kobo when light is off and as such, one pays for only what he consumes. So, they give such estates or buildings steady lights. This is to say that if there is no light, the metre will stop counting and EEDC will be losing money. This is just analogous to the MTN recharge card and phone. If you load your phone with N1000 MTN airtime and there is no MTN network, there is no way you can make call. So, the N1000 will remain in your phone. This means that, the better the network, the higher the income of the service providers. That is why network providers make sure their masts are installed in various locations to bring network coverage to their users. WHY DOES EEDC (NEW NEPA) ENJOY SHARING BILLS WITHOUT SOURCE? Now, if you don’t have prepaid metres in your estates or buildings, it simply means that the EEDC staff in your district will become so rich through you. They will estimate your bills in the high side, most times, N5000 per flat in my own district on monthly basis. When you refuse to pay, they will come and cut your light and nobody talks. What a country? Why is the government keeping mum on this? Ok.o! In my flat, I have not had light for about two weeks now but I pay 4,800 on monthly basis. Any day EEDC wants to restore the light, it will be in the mid night and after about 30 minutes, they will take it. Yet, I pay such inflated bill. If I had metre, it would have just read for same 30 minutes of the existence of light which would not be upto N20 as I don’t put-on electric appliances in the night, and then it will be loss for EEDC. The worst part of it is that, the so called Managers are begging unsuspecting and susceptible Nigerians to come to their offices to pay bills. This is very wrong especially for those of us that have no metres. My dear, if you do that, your complete money does not get to the EEDC headquarters. They will just submit N1, 000 instead of N5, 000. I can prove this to you. Since you don’t have metre, ideally, no device calculates your monthly bills. And as such, the watts you consume per month are not well-accounted for. One of them called me to be paying N3, 000 to them in the office instead of going to pay about N5, 000 in the bank. And I told him that he was a criminal. And that I was trying to legally implicate them soon. Since that day, he has not surfaced in my compound again not to talk of my flat. How can you people be going round to siphon money from poor citizens? My decision this month of November is to be paying N2, 000 and if EEDC dares to court my light, we will do checks and balances in court. My landlord has already applauded that step in the right direction. I have also drafted a manual metric chat that i will use in marking the periods of light-in and light-out in my flat, so that I will use that as evidence against them at the right time. Nigerians are now calling for a major review, and in some cases, a reversal of the privatization of the sector. When it was NEPA, it was better because Federal Government made sure that many building got hybrid metres including my father’s old house in the village. Now, the privatization has put the country into darkness unlike it is, in other countries. What a shame? Adenikinju, who is the immediate past President of the Nigerian Association of Energy Economics, said, “I think the regulator should hold the new owners accountable to the performance contracts they signed with Nigerians. “We should see more actions on the part of the regulator. Consumers continue to complain about slow distribution of prepaid meters, receipts of crazy estimated bills, unstable electricity supply, and relatively high tariffs. The fixed charges paid by consumers are high and do not provide incentives for efficiency for the distribution companies.” Buhari should critically look into these anomalies in the power sector. It is better he checks if he should re-privatize the power sector with corrupt-reduced individuals or re-nationalize the sector with strict policies, else, the country will never celebrate a week of light-in. From Otuu Obinna Ogbonnia (Political Analyst) |
Finally, Amaechi has been confirmed a minister as the senate rejects committee report. Senate president confirmed Amaechi at the back of PDP senators who left the red chamber with vexation. Congrats to Amaechi, Minister of Niger Delta. Congrats also to Prof. Anwuka, the envisaged Education Minister.

Ebonyi State Government needs a strong opposition to stand tall: The Opposition’s main role is to question the government of the day and hold them accountable to the public. The Opposition represents an alternative government, and is responsible for challenging the policies of the government and producing different policies where appropriate. Attitudes to the role of the Leader of the Opposition should be taken into account by people who wish to anticipate what the Opposition might do. The way opposition parties work together can influence the outcomes - if they succeed in working together and in building the "political numbers" they increase their chances of toppling the government. One of the most important jobs of the Opposition is to constantly question the Government. Any Government has to remain answerable to the public at all times, and a good Opposition can put the spotlight on serious issues and have them resolved quickly. An active Opposition will also debate legislation vigorously in the House and during the Select Committee process to ensure the legislation receives careful consideration. Opposition is not just about opposing the Government. There are occasions when the Opposition agrees with the Government. If the solution proposed by the Government has wide support, and is soundly based, then it’s only natural for the Opposition to agree. Opposition parties don’t have the same resources as the Government and the Executive, so opposition has to work twice as hard to get the same results. The Government has access to government departments and advisers to form their policies, where the Opposition often has to go down different avenues to source the same information. It’s also really important that the leader keeps a close eye and ear on what the public is saying, needs and wants – because problems are often caused by the Government not delivering. The other major role of opposition is questioning and proposing alternatives to what the government is doing so the public gets the benefit of political debate between different directions. Having noted the above, I declare hereby that there is no strong opposition in Ebonyi state and there has not been any since the creation of the state. If I take you down the memory lane, I will drag your cognition to the fact that the political space of Ebonyi has not been favorable to the common citizenry. People don’t talk and go free and that is why they keep mum to whatever the government does. A vibrant politician once told me he was remaining mute because of fear of one’s family being wiped out by political giants. Instantly, I removed the adjective “vibrant” from his name. I assure you that the state will remain in doom if no one rises up as a fierce opposition as soon as possible. I am not talking about sycophants who can gullibly be pushed into receiving bribes and keeping quite. I am talking about a strategist, an apogee of dominion, a quintessence of justice, a perfect talker, a fearless creature in the replica of human, a prodigy of masculinity, an intelligent planner and a striker of developmental goals. Recently, the first arm of Ebonyi state government comfortably gave a verdict to keep Afikpo North LGA in darkness for few months. This is a community that contributed more than 40% to the foundation of the state. This demanded a total oppositional force and criticism. I mean criticisms in the radio stations, social networks and one that will turn the 13 LGAs agog. These are few things that uplift the stand of oppositions in a state. Or does it mean the oppositions in the state are in support of this bastardized act? But who would talk without getting the rout of political gladiators, just as one of our representatives got hers through suspension. All these are just in irony because Ebonyi state is a party-minority to the Federal power in decisions to harness states’ activities no matter how the Governor romances the Buhari administration to have a firm and shoddy stand. The Federal canoe is being paddled by an APC led government but the state is a PDP state. This goes a long way to mean that the APC should have been in strong position to question PDP’s “malnutritioned” policies in the state. This also shows that APC is not doing its home work well in Ebonyi state, if not; the attention of Federal Government would have actively been drawn to the bridge of communal right of enjoyment meted on Afikpo North LGA and if that had been done, APC would have won supports from the community and beyond because the light would have been restored courtesy of APC. I may be regarded as blind by some people if I do not recognize his good policies, but I am still searching for one and I stand to be corrected with a paradigm if I am wrong. Also, by virtue of political affiliation, I am a core PDP member to the point that my car was branded with PDP Logos during the last election. This is what many could not do due to fear of oppositional attacks, but I did it for the love of the party. But what I don’t support is marginalization, oppression and wickedness to the common nadir from hierarchical zeniths of politicians of the state. So, to help the governor achieve a lot in the state, APC needs to tie its shoe lace firmly to be able to match along with PDP otherwise; the state will remain stagnant even in the next political dispensation. The travels of Saraki is the one of Solomon Grundy who was born on Monday but was buried on Sunday. This same man that was docked yesterday, will preside over the house of legislature today. What a funny country? I watched his position in the accused box and would also watch his position as he scrutinizes the remnant of the nominees in the gavel box this morning. This may mean nothing to you but has a lot to say about the kind of Democracy practiced in Nigeria.
|
Interesting! Following the call from Senate president Saraki to Senator Ibrahim to conduct tactical questioning on his wife, husband to Mrs.Khadijat ibrahim, Senator Abba Ibrahim proved his Love for his wife by asking her to bow and go, and the house obliged with a "Yes" echo. The first of its kind. House adjourns till tomorrow.

@darlenese....That question was tactful because it needs the knowledge of both bokoharam war innovations and military. |
Senator Godswill Akpabio insults Lai Mohammed clownishly as he labels him a propagandist. "If i know this nominee so well, he must drop one propaganda before he leaves. So let him exhaust his ass before taking a bow" Godswill Posited. Lai bows and goes without questioning. He maintained the shortest time so far. History being made
