Politics / Let The Youths Arise- A Call By A Nairalander by obynoses(m): 10:58am On Jul 03, 2022
Just like the EndSars protest, by August when Campaigns will start, we shall all arise in any state the campaign office of Mr Peter Obi will be opened. We shall plan this as a movement. The day his office will be opened at Lagos, all the youths in Lagos must shun every activity to gather in solidarity for a Youthful candidate. Same should happen in other states. I like Tinubu and have nothing against him. I have also benefitted from Atiku who employed my elder brother in his compani in Adamawa state, but I love Peter Obi for not just being youthful, but for varying degrees of Testimonies from my Anambra Friends and his achievements. Youths arise! It is time for us to veer into the road from the bush we have been. Kukah Ben.

Politics / Ebonyi New Governor Asks Umahi To Vacate Seat: by obynoses(m): 10:39pm On Mar 10, 2022
JUSTICE INYANG EKWO’S JUDGMENTS OF 8TH MARCH 2022, SACKING GOVERNOR DAVID UMAHI AND HIS DEPUTY: A CALL ON FORMER GOVERNOR DAVID UMAHI TO VACATE OFFICE WITHOUT FURTHER DELAY.

Two days ago, specifically on the 8th day of March 2022, His Lordship Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court Abuja, delivered two judgements concerning Ebonyi State. One is suit No FHC/ABJ/CS/920/2021: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) v. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and 3 others. The other is suit No FHC/ABJ/CS/1041/2021: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) v. INEC and 20 others.

In the first suit, whose crux is the defection of Governor Umahi and his Deputy from the PDP to the APC, the Court ordered Umahi and his deputy to vacate their seats, and restrained both of them from further parading themselves as Governor and Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, respectively.

In the other suit, the Court sacked and declared the seats of 15 of the 24 member Ebonyi State House of Assembly vacant, on the same grounds the Governor was removed.

At this point, let me thank our party, the Peoples Democratic Party for the expeditious manner they have taken steps to give effect to the judgment of Justice Inyang Ekwo. This important first step was taken by the party when they submitted the names of Hon. Iduma Igariwey and Fred Udogu to INEC, as Governor and Deputy Governor respectively, to replace Governor Umahi and his deputy, in compliance with the order of Court.

Apart from the order directing Governor Umahi and his deputy to vacate their offices, the court, inter alia, also directed INEC to immediately receive from the PDP the names of its candidates to replace Governor David Umahi and his Deputy, and to declare those names submitted by the PDP, as the Governor and Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State.

While we acknowledge that INEC is in receipt of the communication from the National Chairman of the PDP, we call on INEC as a critical pillar of our constitutional democracy, to comply expeditiously with all the consequential orders of the court, particularly, by declaring the names submitted by the PDP as Governor and Deputy Governor. This, the INEC is expected to do, by issuing Certificates of Return.

From the clear and unambiguous order made by Justice Inyang Ekwo, it is an incontrovertible fact that Governor Umahi ceased to be Governor of Ebonyi State on the 8th day of March 2022. Two days after this judgment, Mr Umahi and his deputy still parade themselves as if they still occupy those offices. This is, to say the very least, contemptuous of the clear orders of a court of competent jurisdiction. We recognise the fact that former Governor David Umahi has a right of appeal. However, until the entire appeal process is exhausted, and in the absence of any order staying the operation of Justice Ekwo’s Judgment, Mr Umahi remains sacked, a former Governor, who should desist from any conduct that threatens the peace of Ebonyi State, or diminishes over constitutional democracy.

In the eye of the law, therefore, I, Rt Hon. Iduma Enwo Igariwey and Chief Fred Udogu, are the recognised Governor and Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, respectively, effective the 8th day of March 2022.

At this point, let me take liberty and address some of the very disturbing comments credited to Mr Umahi in his official reaction to Justice Ekwo’s twin Judgments. Umahi’s reaction, by way of a speech titled “I am still the Governor of Ebonyi State” was, true to Umahi’s imperial character, a cocktail of attacks, insults, intemperate and highly incendiary expletives, against a judge of competent jurisdiction and the Judiciary as an institution. Umahi had described Justice Inyang Ekwo’s judgment as “purchased”, vowed not to obey the judgment, called on his supporters to disregard the judgment, to “laugh over the judgment”, a “useless judgment” by a “hatchet man”.

Although many well-meaning and patriotic Nigerians have called out Umahi to condemn his wild and incomprehensible incivility, yet, to us Ebonyians, we understand too well that imperial Umahi was only being himself. Have Nigerians suddenly forgotten Umahi’s many battles with the press in Ebonyi State? Just about a year ago, Umahi “banished for life from Ebonyi Government House”, a number of journalists – Peter Okutu, Chijoke Agwu and others – for writing stories he did not like. In 2021, Umahi sent thugs to attack a sitting court in Abakaliki and chase away other judges from their court rooms, for delivering judgment he considered not favourable. It stands to reason that geographical distance is probably what is saving Justice Ekwo from Umahi’s physical assault and harm. This is unacceptable and disgraceful, to say the very least.

Yesterday and today, former Governor Umahi, in continuing contempt of Justice Inyang Ekwo’s judgment which had since removed him from office, is further depleting the scarce resources of Ebonyi people by bussing poverty stricken Ebonyi people from their villages to the state capital, to demonstrate against Justice Ekwo’s judgment. For Ebonyians who know him very well, this is vintage David Umahi. He will deploy all manner of subterfuge and blackmail, to hang unto power, in clear contempt of the order of court that has since removed him from office

To Ebonyi people, your joy and jubilation across the length and breadth of the state upon news that David Umahi has been sacked came to me as no surprise. It is, indeed, a new dawn! You have suffocated enough, and your freedom is near. I assure you that the Party will deploy every legal means to actualise your freedom as symbolised by Justice Inyang Ekwo’s judgment. The era of running Ebonyi State as Umahi, sons and brothers Nigeria Ltd, is soon over. The days of indiscriminate arrests, kidnappings, disappearances and murder in secret detention facilities in Ebonyi State Government House, will soon be a thing of the past.

I urge Ebonyi people to remain calm and peaceful, and go about their normal livelihoods, while civil servants are encouraged to remain vigilant. Security Agencies, the Police, DSS and NSCDC are urged to secure the state by protecting lives and property. This also includes government Property and assets.

Finally, on a personal note, I and my Deputy would like to thank our great party, the PDP, and our stakeholders from Ebonyi State, for the honour of submitting our names to INEC. We feel honoured, and assure the party and Ebonyians, that the task of redeeming and rescuing Ebonyi State from former Governor Dave Umahi’s brigandage and misrule, is a mission that must be quickly accomplished.

Thank you and may God continue to bless Ebonyi State.

Signed:
His Excellency, Rt Hon. Iduma Enwo Igariwey

Politics / Anambra Gubernatorial Aspirant Lambastes Pantami by obynoses(m): 8:28am On Apr 19, 2021
An aspirant in the November Gubernatorial race, Mr Afam Ezenwafor (Afamation), has chided the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, over footage and statements being circulated all over the media made before he was appointed a Minister, where he declared supports and sympathy for terrorist groups like the Al-Qaeda and Taliban.

Mr Afam expressed surprise that a person who held such belief is within the Federal Executive Council (FEC). He called on all security agencies to activate investigations on the Minister who he insisted is a security risk, given his disposition to the terrorist groups, as a head of a powerful ministry in charge of our data bank.

According to him: "This nation is faced with enormous security challenges, and with people like Pantami in very sensitive positions, we may be sitting on kegs of gunpowder. The powers and functions of Pantami's Ministry concerning our data management cannot be overemphasized. Thus, it is dangerous to allow our NIN and BVN management to be superintendended by someone who has manifest support for terrorist organisations, and was alleged recently to be placed on a Watch List by the US. Therefore, I call on Mr President to overhaul the Communication and Digital Economy Ministry for obvious reasons and allay the fears of Nigerians and the world".

Afam reiterated the need for the youths and young people to take over and reclaim our country. He noted that most of the youths and young people are yet to develop the consciousness for political participation to liberate our people and society. He stated that the youths and young people shall take over power in Anambra State and make difference by instituting the need positive change.

Afam also noted that recent recanting statements of Pantami may be another tactical ploy to hoodwink Nigerians into acceptance, and warned that Nigerians should be careful not to be deceived by such ploys.

Politics / The Youngest Gubernatorial Aspirant In the soon coming Anambra Election by obynoses(m): 1:36pm On Apr 17, 2021
We are tired of the old. Yes, youths demonstrate strength, ingenuity, foresight, courage, sound reasoning, wisdom, etc while elders are filled with experience and wisdom to guide the youths. In Afamation Movement, youths lead with sound advice of elders. This is why we have sent Hon Afam Ezenwafor to salvage Anambra state from the shackles of political merchants and bad leaders.

All youths in Anambra state and beyond should support Afam Ezenwafor to reintroduce the good leadership that Dr Mike Okpara and Mazi Sam Mbakwe brought in Igboland which has been abandoned by most of our current leaders. Our mission will start with Anambra state 2021 governorship election. It will, also, extend to other Igbo states and beyond.

African Democratic Congress (ADC) is the political party. Afamation Movement is the grassroots political movement. Hon Afam Ezenwafor is the aspirant. Youths are the formidable force. Elders are our guide while Anambra state 2021 governorship election victory is our Divine Mandate.

Education / Choosing Keywords For Your Research Paper: by obynoses(m): 8:55am On Sep 06, 2020
I got calls from few of us asking me the meaning of "keywords" and why it is needed in most, if not all research works. My dear, the most intelligent people are those who ask questions, because they learn always. Hence, your questions were in place. A keyword is a reserved word, which appears more often than normal and has special meaning in your research work. Whenever a keyword in your work is mentioned, especially in the internet domain, your work should pop up among other research works listed by the search routine. So, what are the words that should be used as a keyword in your paper?

Follow the below tips:
1. Include your techniques and/or specific methodology.
The most important experimental techniques used in your article are worth considering as keywords, for example, IoT, X-ray crystallography, Immunohistochemistry, etc. Just make sure that the formatting of the keyword (e.g., IoT vs IOT, FT-IR vs. FTIR) is the most commonly used in the literature so that your paper does not get left out of searches for that term. Using IOT may give you no search result as the right word for Internet of Things is IoT.

2. Focus on the main topic of your research.

For example, if your research is based on diabetes, possible keywords could be blood glucose, insulin, glucometer, etc. If the topic is hypertension, keywords to include could be blood pressure, circulation, stroke, pulse rate, heart, etc. Just remember to be specific enough, so that your main area of research is included.

3. Avoid keywords too long and too short:

Ensure that the keywords that you select are not too long but also not too short. Keywords that are too short will render the search unspecific, whereas keywords that are too long may filter articles to such a great extent that your paper could be excluded. For example, if your research is on pediatric diabetes, use long tail keywords that are relevant to your study. In this case, ‘blood glucose’ or ‘insulin’ may be too broad, and your paper would be lost in a sea of papers on diabetes.

4. Avoid overlapping keywords in your title and those in your keyword list.

Don’t waste keyword space on words used in your title. This is generally advised by most journals (but always check your journal guidelines).

5. Perform keyword research before submitting your article:
Do a search yourself using the keywords you intend to submit with your article. Do these keywords pull up articles that are very similar to your own? This technique will also give you insight into your competition. For example, which keywords do those papers use that you want to compete with?

Education / How To Convert Your Bsc. Or Msc. Project To Conference Paper/journal: by obynoses(m): 5:44pm On Aug 12, 2020
1. Abstract remains the same.
2. Introduction remains the same. But shorten it to two pages by removing ambiguous interpretations associated with projects' introductions.
3.Materials and Methods remain same but don't show all works. But analysis should be summarized.
4. Literature review that contributes mostly to the many number of pages of projects should be totally removed. Just pick few important resent works and assemble in a page for your review of related works to show that people have tried to solve same problem but failed or didn't hit the point you are trying to hit as a panacea.
5. Result should be same but summarized too.
6. Discussion and Conclusion should be same.
7. Reference should change. Yes! As you are summarizing the chapters, just like your Introduction, many authors referenced were expunged. Also, remember to expunge them in the reference list. Just be careful to pick out those few people you mentioned in your summarized paper so that you don't reference who wasn't cited mistakenly.

Politics / Lockdown: Never A Covid19 Solution by obynoses(m): 2:34pm On Apr 20, 2020
Dear Colleagues!
1. It is Paramount at this juncture to note that the total lockdown of the nation has not solved or try to contribute to any optimal solution to COVID19.
2. The disease has increased by almost 100% even while we are on lockdown.
3. This means that even if we continue being on lockdown, the disease will keep plummeting, while our economy is going down and at a time, people may start dying of hunger than of the disease.
4. Police officers obeying themselves than the authorities, have taken the disadvantages of the lockdown to extort from those going contrary to the lockdown rules instead of redirecting them, and also kill innocent citizens of our dear country.
5. Some Army men giving orders to themselves by themselves in their personal shallow coordinations, have also dealt with and killed many innocent citizens who broke the lockdown rules to fend for their poor families, instead of dying indoors while on lockdown.
6. Electricity distribution companies also in their way of giving kwashiorkored services, have worsened the case of the citizens by not distributing light as they should, but yet walk around to distribute bills.
7. Petty thieves have unleashed mayhem on so many innocent Nigerians. Some dreaded thieves walk house to house while some even give visitation letters to Nigerian homes without fear.
8. This has caused a review of the lockdown by myself and some other concerned Nigerians. After this important review, we have concluded that a Letter be written and given to the Federal government concerning the lock down. The content of the letter shall be:
a. All Nigerians have to be allowed to go back to their normal lives, because we may have seen the worst of it as our relatives who normally carter for their family members now beg even for #1000 or less to feed.
b. Protection of Nigerians against COVID19 should be done by Nigerians themselves as the best from the government can't be enough to curtail its spread and feed the entire nation in an extended lockdown. If the lives of Nigerians are placed in their hands, you will see that people will be more careful than now as everybody has seen the reality of the virus in recent deaths of close family members.
c. Government should enforce 'no mask,no outing rule'. This will help all Nigerians to use face masks till we finally win the COVID19 war.
d. All businesses and MDAs should be made to place wash hand basins and sanitizers in their business domains and offices.
e. All mosques and churches should double the number of their times of prayers or services to reduce the number of participants of a particular service. And sanitizers have to be placed on the mosque and church doors.
d. Government should rollout financial palliatives to all states and this has to be done with utmost accountability.
e. Students should go back to schools. But sanitary measures have to be maintained.
f. Farmers should be equipped more than enough by government as they will help to combat the aftermath of the corona war.
g. Passengers all over the nation should maintain social distance of normal 3 persons per seat while drivers apply sanitizers to all palms of anyone being carried.
9. The above points when taken into consideration shall reduce if not drive away COVID19 and hunger at the same time if the government can abide by the suggestions therein.
10. Meanwhile, stay home until these suggestions are approved.
Thanks and remain blessed. Otuu Obinna Ogbonnia (Obynoses).

Health / Okopoly Denounces Rumours Of Corona Virus Spread by obynoses(m): 8:15pm On Mar 15, 2020
The management of Federal Polytechnic Oko has reacted to the speculations making the rounds that a student was diagnosed of Corona virus at it's medical centre.

It was rumoured that a student who returned from travel was diagnosed of the virus in the early hours of Sunday.

Speaking through it's public relations officer, Mr Obini Onuchukwu, the management described the speculation as false and mischievous.

Onuchukwu said no such case was reported or heard in any part of the Polytechnic.

"This is the dangerous dimension social media has taken and it should be checked because it's more destructive.

" People just fabricate stories in order to run down the other. This is wrong and malicious," Onuchukwu said.

According to Onuchukwu the entire Polytechnic community is in very high spirit preparing for it's 19th combined convocation ceremony slated to commence from April 1 to April 4, 2020.

He further called on students and staff to go about their normal businesses stating that the rumour was the handi work of mischief makers and misleading.

''We are not unmindful of the Speedy spread and we are doing our best through our very competent medical services to protect our environment." He added.

Education / Re: Federal Polytechnic Oko Brings Down The Academic Performance Of Students by obynoses(m): 3:36pm On May 03, 2017
First of all, let me shower accolades on the anti-academic activist who has helped us to rebroadcast to the world that our institution, Federal Polytechnic Oko has fully gone and shall remain digital. The CBT examination was introduced by the administration of Prof. Godwin Onu to check the excesses of randy and unscrupulous Lecturers who were engaged in sorting of all kinds and lured the female students to bed just for marks. One needed to do illicit routines after examinations just to be able to get a pass mark in a course before this wonderful ICT exam style which has no doubts curbed the tails of malpractices was introduced by the digital Rector. Need I remind you that because of the CBT innovation at present, the Lecturers have only 30 marks to give to a student as Continuous Assessment while the student has 70 marks to contend with, in the computer based system. This is to say that any student who studies hard has 70 marks to consume even when she refuses to sleep with a randy Lecturer or has no money to sort the course.
Meanwhile, examination is not a platform for self-expression neither is it a football pitch where the game is expected to last for 90 minutes. If not for clarity purpose in the public glare, I would not have replied your unreasonable, nonchalant and childish social media stunt against an Institution that presently has done the best for its students. Do you want the revered institution known for zero impunity to go back to the era of manual script marking where randy Lecturers failed their victims at will? Hell No! You must belong to those students who didn’t come to the school to read but to sort as it is shown in your grammatical lamentations; and because the avenue has been shut-down, you are crying woe. The media complainant may as well wish to be given 10 hours examination in a 60 question examination of 2 credit unit course. Be reminded that the National Board of Technical Education has done well to structure the school curriculum which the Institution follows without policy loopholes. Meanwhile, in general, the institution has rules and regulations governing its examination which go in sync with NBTE policy.
Be aware also that our security men and exam invigilators are well mannered and professionally trained to control and care for our students as not to harrass or intimidate them before, during and after examination. Our CBT halls are well equipped and magnificent enough to contain the students without hitches. So where you got your calumnous post from must be in the cupboards or dirty linens of unscrupulous agents whose anomalies were shown off the way by the present administration.
If i may ask, was there no student who made an ‘A’ in the same course or exam you are complaining about? Of course, there must be well prepared students who use their time for better things than surfing the net during exam periods and wasting a time that should be used to reverse one’s books and prepare for subsequent papers, to complain to God knows who.
Please, i advise you to go read your books as the examination is still on-going. If you prepare yourself well as supposed, there would be no reason why you should not finish a question within a specified time given or provided by the Lecturer who is monitored by a HOD and Polytechnic Exam Committee against students’ witch-hunt; and who knows the Credit unit of the Course, hence, the time the examination should last.
The Rector, Prof. Godwin Onu is committed to giving the best to all students as he takes to heart, their problems. He never will allow any of his loved students weap or feel illtreated as he has Students-friendly agents making sure that the rights of the students are protected in or out of the examination halls.
Federal polytechnic Oko is simply the best and shall remain.

The boy is a fool. He should go and study. Oko poly is doin great now than other schools. Now,lecturers are crying because d chance to sort has been reduced to just 30marks. The CBT exam is 70marks. You can even slap a lecturer and score A in his course becos the computer now marks it,no longer lecturers.
