The painful part is that these careless people go on to infect their innocent partners .

I am a medical doctor.
I have seen women in their 50 & 60s even some in their 70s taking HIV medications.
Husbands are mostly late as a result of HIV complications.

New infections are being recorded in young wives during antenatal visits,delivery,routine screening.

It's pathetic.

I laugh at people who say it's okay for a man to sleep around as long as he is providing.
I work and I also provide.
A man will not infect me with HIV or any STI for any reason.
We used to have regular screening in the first 3 years of our marriage.
Luckily for me,2 pregnancies..3 babies(including a set of twins). Since then,we use condoms or no sex.

It's been this way for over 5 years.
We are good.

This is why STIs spread.

I was tuned in to a radio program recently in Aba 'Ask a Lawyer' when a rather troubling message from a caller was read out. The caller explained how he had mistakenly overpaid his tithe to his church. According to him, he intended to pay ₦10,000, but in error, he transferred ₦100,000 into the church’s account.

When he realized the mistake, he quickly approached one of the pastors to request a refund of the excess ₦90,000. To his surprise, the pastor told him, “It may be God’s will.” The man, however, insisted that the entire amount was not his. He explained that the excess money had an actual owner, and he needed to return it.

The pastor then assured him that he would take the matter to the General Overseer of the church. Days later, the caller followed up, but the feedback he got was shocking: the pastor told him there would be no refund. According to the church, the money now “belonged to God,” and once it had entered the church’s account, it had entered “God’s account.”

The caller said he was left speechless. He had made a genuine mistake, was transparent about it, and pleaded for the refund, but the church remained firm that there would be no return of the money.

It raised serious questions for me as I listened:

Should a place of worship not embody fairness, justice, and compassion?

Can it really be “God’s will” to withhold money that doesn’t rightfully belong to the giver?

Or was this simply an abuse of authority, hiding behind the name of God?


Hearing this story on the radio made me reflect deeply on accountability, both spiritual and ethical. Faith leaders are entrusted with people’s resources, and when mistakes like this happen, transparency and empathy should guide their actions. Otherwise, the line between genuine service to God and exploitation of believers becomes dangerously blurred.

In issues like this, elections are used. But it won't work in Nigeria since vote buyers are around. This is one of the reasons we need to strengthen our voting system.

These people have the right to be full Igbo if they want, and as we know that Delta State will not release them to go under any Igbo State. So, the best way is to create their own State to break away. It makes sense.

On the contrary, it is not that meaningful amd sensible. We have too many states in wahala already, and this time we are calling for reduction in government expenses? So that we can have a whole national assembly and executive looting more. Gosh!!!!

You see why Nigeria is in trouble. See eh! Lord Luggard did us a very bad thing. The damage is just too much.

From the moment pictures started going out of the pot Hilda Bacci planned to use for her record setting attempt to cook the world's largest pot of jollof rice, anyone with a fair background in physics and possibly material science would have sensed something was off. There was no way that pot was going to serve.

See, physics is impassionate and brutal. It's laws are set from the beginning of creation. For Hilda's record to have gone through without a hitch, the laws of physics would have been broken.

I don't know what the dimensions the pot of galvanized steel she used are. I do however know that they were far too insufficient. The math alone was going to be problematic. Her initial plan was to use 250 bags of rice for that pot. Assuming she used 50kg bags of rice, that's already 12.5 tons. She later reduced the quantity to 200 bags which is 10 tons of rice or 10,000 kg. A look at that pot and its supporting legs clearly indicate it is no way rated to handle such a load. Disaster was already afoot.

Heat causes metal to expand. This expansion, weakens the metallic bonds that holds the atoms that make up the metal in the pot. The weight of the rice in the pot further strains the structure of the pot, hence the collapse.

She and her team did not consult widely nor did they meet qualified engineers for counsel. Today's disaster was inevitable as a result.
