FamilyRe: Nigerian Couple In Arlington,tx In Trouble For Keeping Slaves. by ochukoccna: 2:06pm On Dec 11, 2009
No new thing in that. Happens all the time in 9ja and even over in the Diaspora by 9ja & African immigrants. Have we forgotten Boy Adam who was found floating in River Thames some 8 years back? Though his case was that of ritual murder. What of the 8 year old  Angolan girl who was tortured of been a witch by some 4 people including her aunt? What of we ourselves even if we believe our actions toward our fellow man are not as hurtful as that of this couple. What of the numerous sex slaves [too subdued to fight back or scared to talk] owned by some 'auntie/madam' that litter 9ja's brothels? As I said before, no new thing in that. May God direct our paths away from the cruelty  that resides in too many men because no matter how bright the sun shines under God's blue skies, demons of darkness lurk in the heart of men.
SportsRe: NFF, GLOBACOM Part Ways! by ochukoccna: 1:30pm On Dec 11, 2009
Funny thing is NPL have started singing NFF's tune to GLO [also the league sponsor]. isn't this the same NFF who GLO built a new secretariat for as a gift apart from giving them cars? The same NFF whose chairman-Obaseki-  had to cool down when NFF threatened to reveal his financial recklessness & even suspended during the time NPL was involved in muscle flexing with NFF. Though they are more gracious in sharing GLO's largesse with the clubs, it's still a case of monkey dey work, baboon dey chop in their relationship with the clubs.
SportsRe: NFF, GLOBACOM Part Ways! by ochukoccna: 1:02pm On Dec 11, 2009
In truth, the national teams are worth more than the $7million [1 billion naira] tag placed on them by NFF. GLO indeed was getting them for cheap with the about $1.1 million she was enjoying before. The sharp urgent review was possibly precipitated by 9ja's qualification for the WC yet face it, 9ja's football sphere is currently a joke. Which serious company would pour that much on it? The NFF is visionless, the national teams lack direction in that there's no clear cut policy on how to integrate the youth team products into the senior teams [especially the males], no financial transparency etc. What happened to over the case of about $300,000 stolen in NFF's office? Is is this same bunch of jokers you'll entrust $7 mill with? Jokers like Ogunjobi, Uchegbulam, Lulu and Ojo oba! In this days of  video teleconferencing, this jokers MUST go to the UK to go visit Kanu, Yobo etal for discussions on how the Super Eagles. What are they discussing, national team tactics or match bonus negotiation? grin grin grin It's only in 9ja we hear about this sick joke. Where is the respect and the discipline going to come from? Essien just got hit with a fine of over 3000 pounds for missing a friendly. When last did you hear NFF discipline our players aka THE UNTOUCHABLES? This bunch of average players that consistently have not been named in any credible individual/team football award for about 5 years now? What tournament have they won of recent? Does the teams esp the Super Eagles have any football pattern or do they play kick and follow? What then determines their market value?NFF should stop her bravado and put her house in order vis a vis accountability  before making ridiculous demands seeing no sane sponsor incl MTN will allow the rot continue. Nonsense!
CultureRe: Common 'madness' In Lagos? by ochukoccna: 6:34pm On Dec 10, 2009
ONLY IN LAGOS U'LL SEE DEAD BODY ON THE STREETS AND IT REMAINS THERE FOR DAYS
That was old Lagos. When last did you personally witness this?  huh

ONLY IN LAGOS U SEE TOUTS ROBBING SOMEONE AND OTHERS WILL BE GOING ABT THEIR BIZ AS IF NOTHING IS HAPPENING Sad but true. angry Reason been his goons are nearby watching to break the heads of would be saviors save the saviors are gun totting policemen or army men. Yet believe it has drastically reduced. Oshodi & Mushin used to be notorious for this. Any ways u must be street yourself to waka for Lagos streetz as every 1 wan hustle u.

ONLY IN LAGOS U SEE A WELL DRESSED SAME MAN/WOMAN/BOY/GIRL, JUMP DOWN FROM A MOVING VEHICLE. Damn impatient lot. Yet many times, the driver tells you  there's no bus stop there yet he freely stops to carry passengers @ the same spot but is reluctant to let them disembark freely. weird behavior though seeing broken bones especially of older people takes time to heal.

ONLY IN LAGOS THAT U WILL BE MOVING ON THE ROAD U SEE SOME PPLE/ADULTS OOO BY THE ROAD SIDE, STOOPING AND DEFEACATING, AND PPLE WOULD JUST BE PASSING AS IF ITS NOTHING.
SOME MEN ALSO BATH BY THE ROADSIDE WITH THEIR 3RD LEG DANGLING AND THEY CARE LESS
Depends on your part of Lagos though.

Talk of pedestrian bridges, e.g the one at oshodi and cele, the human traffic/hold-up on the bridge atimes will be such that u'll fear the bridge might collapse.
Which one don collapse? huh huh huh huh huh huh What do you expect from a looting elite who shunned from building up Lagos and by extension most of the Southern Nigeria [incl East and South South] infrastructure because of God knows what. I agree that weather contributed a part in the type of roads down south but how come most roads down south are good death traps? huh huh huh huh huh Anyway, construction of new bridges are ongoing @ those 2 spots you mentioned.

Only in Lagos do conductors join man and woman together to go sort out their change
grin grin grin grin 'Holy' money-matrimony fit result courtesy of Lagos conductor grin grin grin grin A lady i helped open her email account said she met her husband in the bus in response to Yahoo's security questions.

Only in Lagos do people start a quarrel with 'Do you know who I am?'. How am I supposed to? grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin What's Lagos without shakara? U too go display your swagger- gosh I hate that word. grin grin grin grin

Whether it's Fashola or not , 9ja peoples are not blind and know which politicians are working and which ones are looting. Even all the work Fash has done is negligible as the infrastructural rot is great and while he has the praise of many for what he has done so far, like Oliver Twist told Mr. Bumble, "Please, sir, I want some more." Is that to much to ask for the Action Governor ?

Leave tribal sentiments aside, na only Lagos. 17 million and still counting. Traffic  gridlock, waste generated, energy demanded etc. all point to this. Fashola's new ID card scheme 'll disprove or confirm true census figures.

dumbassss niggaa, only countries have the right to deport anyone that is not a citizen for actions in contravention of their laws. not states like in Nigeria.
i don't recall inviting you to the conversation. Yet since you have chosen to show you are a genetic mental retard, go argue your dumbness in the Supreme court on why northerners kill southerners with impunity yet their governors conveniently are blinded to the fact that this northerners, surprise surprise, are killing fellow citizens for ?contravening? huh their religious laws which by their own estimation supersede the country's laws.

it would have been better to send them for rehabilitation instaed of deporting or "evacuating" them.
Rehabilitate them? Oge, if you were take a census of 9ja beggars, don't you know the highest percentage would come from a certain part of the country? You sure have a hell of a job on your hands to rehabilitate them seeing smashing this cultural and religious mindset is humongous work.

gidson12:
Any citizen of Nigeria should have the right to live wherever or whichever part of Nigeria such Nigerian citizen chooses and prefers.Such choice should be left to such Nigerian citizen regardless of wealth, health, ethnicity, state or region of origin or religion. Once a Nigerian has established proof of his citizenship, where he chooses to live should not be a discussable transaction by any branches of our government, be it local, state or federal.
so what Fashola did was an illegal act. It is an unconstitutional act, as it is equally immoral,
Question- Though you are not a Yankee citizen, what do you think the authorities there would do if you went over there to beg for a living?

Most never call, they just flash , send a 1 page text or call you to talk for about 2-5 minutes max only to start cooing credit low into your tympanum. if gist is really serious, they keep you up all night long with free midnight calls. I've always wondered but don't know why. Maybe 9ja babes [those living in 9ja not the diaspora] can help explain this behavioral trait.
