It depends on the course you're going for, I think the only regional area where ACU is located is at Canberra
some people even claim that Canberra is not a regional area compared to Darwin or Tasmania. I don't know why such differences

I've seen it already. I've been in contact with people in Australia, and they keep telling me that studying in regional areas like Darwin (Northern Territory), Adelaide (South), Perth (West) and Tasmania are the viable places for 3yrs post graduate work permit and easier pathways to PR compared to other states and territories in Australia. How true?

Pls how good is Australia Catholic University ? Is ACU also located at regional areas?

No, why would you want to study in an unaccredited institution while also spending a lot of money?

2. You must conduct your own research or hire an agent to do so for you. My one piece of advice is to seek out universities located in regional areas.

3. That is not an issue at all. Classes are attended by people in wheelchairs, with canes, and with dogs, so don't be concerned about that.
On the first answer, I meant that the Masters program in Social Work is not accredited by the accreditation body, AASU, at some universities like Flinders, CDU etc. Should I go ahead to study the Masters program in Social Work even if the course program is not fully accredited yet?

Well I don't about Visa grant, but then I know recently is difficult to get admission if you want to come with your family. And then they were downgraded to AL3 From AL1.
which one is AL1 or AL3 rankings? I've never heard about this before

According to all the articles I have read; YES.
but the issue is that there are some degree programs that automatically admit applicants from different backgrounds. For example, Australian universities usually accepts international students from social science background, psychology and human science field to apply for Masters in Social Work. Will this be interpreted as changing your course?

Those intending to come for study, choose your course wisely as things will change starting from July. International students won't be allow to change course without approval from the Minister.

I heard about this news too. Very sad, esp for those seeking career change while in Australia

You will still be required to submit IELTS scores with your visa application, but as long as you can write, speak, and understand English, you should be fine. I wish you the best of luck.

Personally, I'd choose Adelaide because it's in a regional area, which means you'll have a three-year post-study visa and they give preference to students who graduate from regional universities when it comes to sponsorship for permanent residence.
Is it true that you cannot find Nigerian people or our community at Adelaide? Do we have specific Nigerian group forums or chat group based in Australia regional areas or even states?

Pls guys, what is the advantages of studying at regional areas of Australia compared to major cities like Sydney and Melbourne or states like Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales?
- Is it true that you would get additional years for post graduate work permit if you graduate from a University at a regional area (e.g Perth) compared to major cities and states (e.g Victoria)

whats your question?
- Is it advisable to study Masters in Social Work at an Australian University that has not been accredited by the Association of Australian Social Workers (AASW) body?

- I studied Political science BSc with a 2nd class lower division and a GPA of 3.04 on a 5 scale. Does my GPA meet the eligibility criteria for admission to a Masters program in Social Work? If yes, can you give examples of the specific universities that accept 2nd class lower (3.04 GPA) for Masters in social work?

- Do universities in Australia accept Social Work applicants that have physical disability like a deformity or bend on the left arm ?

Does that mean that you will be eligible for 3 years post graduate work permit after studying in University of Wollongong or any other regional areas in Sydney, Melbourne, Queensland?

The best you can get with your HND is BSc without honors (3 year programme with 1 year exemption).
It's only US and Canada that treat HND as the same with First Degree.
there are several other countries that acknowledge HND too including in Europe and Asia. Follow the handle "Wakawaka doctor" on Instagram and YouTube to find out the countries that accept HND grads..

I researched on Diploma in Social work and discovered that Canada only recognizes Social Work as an accredited course at either Bachelor level or Masters Level... They don't acknowledge Diploma (PGD) in social work as an accredited course, according to their accreditation board. This is very sad. It's only when u top up your Diploma with a Masters degree in Social Work that you'll be accredited as a social worker in Canada. That country is too tough with procedures.

Lemme get you right... Your undergraduate degree is in political science and you've not had any work experience in disability studies field, like teaching or counselling?

Well, if that is the case, I'll strongly advise not to go for the program. Such programs are highly professional and require strong background in courses like learning, child development (emotional, cognition and social), and a lot of psychological studies in education as prerequisite before doing a masters. It's almost impossible to secure admission without having such background. But many schools may accept years of experience in that field to cover for it.

But, it doesn't affect the process of getting a PGWP either course or thesis base route.

Noo, I don't... You can Google it.
SOP related to special education or child support care could be useful too.
If I study postgraduate diploma at a college (DLI), will I be able to secure PR afterwards... ?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by ocpaschal: 10:05pm On Apr 04, 2022
If I study a postgraduate diploma in Social Work at a DLI college in Canada for 2yrs (plus PSWP), will I be eligible for Permanent Residency after my diploma studies?

You may have to research more. There are some paths through which one can attain the PR in the long haul:

1. Find a company that will be willing to sponsor your H1B visa for a couple of years, until you qualify to apply for a green card. Your work permit would be tied to your company, until you become independent.

Most immigration consultants believe that an average H1B visa lasts three years, after which a candidate is eligible to file for a green card - that may take a couple of months too, if not 1 year plus..

2. Marry person wey get kpali (citizen), that’s if you are unmarried o.

You asked a good question: it shows that you want to have a good plan. Let no one discourage you from seeking answers.
Thank you for the brilliant response. One more thing, I'm making enquiry based on study visa entry. If you complete a Masters program in USA and you start working based on your Post Study Work Permit, how can one later secure the H1B visa? Are there companies in USA that are permitted or licensed to sponsor your visa and transition from study visa to H1B visa?
In the UK, they use Shortage Occupation List; and if you get job in one of the listed skilled Occupation with a company that is licensed to sponsor an individual with a tier 2 visa, you'll remain in UK indefinitely (same as PR).
So my question is How does one transition from student visa to a sponsorship work visa in USA? Is it possible to get a H1B visa after studies? Are Social Workers an in-demand skill in USA that is prioritized like nurses etc?

sure, there are lots of schools in the u.s that will offer you Msc admissions with 2.2 cgpa especially if it's on a 3.00 scale, but in some cases if it's less than 3.00 then you will be offer to write a GRE test. So shoot your shot dear, u are good to go. I recommend Salem State University. Good luck
this is the same for me, but my cgpa is 3.04. I read Political science and I'm also looking for cheaper universities to study MSW Social Work. But how can I tell which USA universities can offer Post Study Work Permit?

Do you want to study in the US or you want PR in the US? They are two different things
Both... To study Masters program in USA, complete studies, get Post Study Work Permit, and get a Residency Permit (PR) to remain in USA indefinitely. What is USA system? I understand Canada and UK, but I don't understand America's pathways to remain in USA after graduation. I don't even understand how to determine which American Universities offer Post-Study Work Permit.. I don't know these things well. I need a guide or a breakdown of details
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by ocpaschal: 5:27pm On Mar 24, 2022
To be honest, I really do not understand America's stance on Permanent Residency. I would like to study in USA but
I don't know what their PR is obtained. How do you secure a permanent residency in USA. Is it possible or is there a pathway to getting a PR in America through study route?
