he is an international medical graduate that studied medicine outside UK and Nigeria last year (2021). So he got admission for masters in public health nutrition at a UK university and traveled to UK last year. He's also done with the Masters program. And while in UK, he plans to do his internship (Fy1 and Fy2) and also take both PLAB 1 & 2 exams in UK with the sole aim of becoming a certified doctor later in the near future via GMC.

He has no post medical internship so is only a candidate for fy1.
After fy1 then fy2.
He has the huge scale of getting gmc registration first. Let him concentrate on that as it wont be easy.

Not yet. He wants to write PLAB 1 Exam next year. But he needs to do internship work in UK for at least over one year because he didn't do any internship or housemanship job in Nigeria or elsewhere after graduating from a medical school abroad. The question is "where can he get internship jobs in UK"?
What type of UK visa does he need to get in order to do Fy1 and Fy2?

Pls I want to ask for clarity :
- My relative completed undergraduate Medical studies in Ukraine and immediately begun his masters degree in public health nutrition currently at a UK. He did not do any medical exam or housemanship/internship in Nigeria b4 traveling to UK to study Masters in public health nutrition. So my question is ;
- Which of the foundation year programs (btw FY1 or FY2) would he need to do since he didn't take any medical exam in his local country (Nigeria) or internship prior to the completion of his medical undergraduate studies in Ukraine (outside Nigeria)?
- Does he need to do both FY1 and FY2?
- What are the differences between FY1 and FY2?
- Pls how long does it take to complete either Foundation year (FY1 and Fy2) programs?

Pls how much does it cost to process visitor visa at the UK embassy in Nigeria?

Trust me, most who go back to Nigeria complaining didn’t move back by choice.
You and Justwise present strong points and I advise anyone to be suspicious of people who complain about the developed countries they moved to.
If you visit any Nigerians here in the US (my paternal side included) you hear them complaining to family in Naija about bills and how hard things are then the moment they disconnect the call, they jump right back to loving and enjoying their new life.
The majority of people who complain aren’t legal and don’t have papers, are lazy, don’t want family back in Naija to ask for help migrating, or ask for money.

Real question: why do these monikers act like bills and taxes are curses and everyone abroad works around the clock, living a hard life of struggle? A nice, comfortable lifestyle costs and we enjoy the amenities funded with our taxes. Savings and investments are priorities to me but what good does having large amounts of money saved serve in an unsanitary, uncomfortable, and dangerous environment where one encounter can wipe savings dry? Serves no good at all.

Facts... Some diaspora Nigerians are very selfish and heartless to care about others or their kinsmen. Very terrible reality, and you just mentioned some salient points. To add, when people relocate outside Nigeria and Africa, some completely forget their brothers and sisters in Africa and d current reality of agony and suffering they face back home. So they even act high and mighty with their newfound livelihood abroad. Some feel superior in possession of asset and want to be adored for the little they share.

I need una inputs, I tried scanning through nairaland threads and I am getting more of technicalities and rules lol. I need real experiences. As everybody around me dey japa so I decided to give it a thought. I work with a fintech company and net a little over =N=600k monthly. I am considering relocating to either UK,Germany,New Zealand, Australia or Canada. I am married with four kids. They said study route is the best .

A few of my colleagues that travelled just dey dull my ginger. My Oga who nets over 750k, we spoke today and he is considering a security man job, and claims net pay is over 2M monthly. Biko I cannot come and kill myself.

My friend, we spoke this evening and he responded oboy make I no lie you, na shit i dey pack for here, the good news is they say it will always get better with time. What if person no come eventually become citizen, is it a must you go become citizen.

I don talk to over 10 persons today and they all saying everything is though. Me I don't like stress, where me and wify go dey overwork just dey pay bills. Ofcourse I no get strength for menial jobs, make one oyibo use me take dey shine lol....

I no get any exceptional skill, I be sales man ooo.

Would you advise I still gamble and go with family abi make I hold my job oooo.

Keep your Nigerian job intact. 600k is a huge earning esp in this hard times. You can always be traveling out for tourism and vacations. Travel to more countries to boost your family's travel history. Raise your lovely children in this country until they mature to 18 years above. Then you could train at least two abroad at PR likely countries like Canada, NZ etc.

My opinion - Go to any regional area or Territory that offers the opportunities you are looking for. When you get there, you will probably find a couple of Nigerians or Africans there.

But then generally speaking, there is a Nigerian Association in WA that you can contact by email. I am guessing there is a whatsapp group for Nigerians living in Melbourne. There are Nigerians in Sydney but I am not sure if they have an association. Like I mentioned in a previous post, there is also a recently created whatsapp group for Nigerians living in Qld.

Pls I need clarification. If your relative in Australia didn't indicate or write your middle name during that time of visa processing when one is meant to list out names of all your family members, will it be a challenge when he tries to bring his family member to Australia as a Permanent Resident ?

If you want to apply for study visa, why don't you go with that instead of going to visit first then changing later.

I want to use this visit as an opportunity to convince my relative to sponsor me on a graduate study program within d state. That is the critical essence of this visit - if he agrees to it. Every family have different realities and complications.

what of switching from visitor visa to student/study visa ?

Please I want to clarify on a few things; My Uncle wants to write an invitation letter to recommend me to visit him in USA thru the visitor visa. So I am composing a letter with samples I've seen on Google search. I want to add the right content on the purpose of my visit. So I need to ask the following;

- Is it advisable for my uncle to indicate on the invitation letter as a purpose of visit that I would be visiting my uncle in the USA to also have a look at a University facilities etc within the state in order to weigh my options on whether to apply from Nigeria for Graduate studies at the USA University when returning to Nigeria?

- My uncle is a medical doctor. Will it even make sense if he says that the purpose of my visit as a nephew is to see tourist sites? Or to spend a few weeks with him only to see how they are doing?

- I am also going to travel out for the first time in my life outside Nigeria if this works out. If the USA visa officer asks me why I lack a travel experience (my old expired passport is empty, and the new one unused) what should I say?

- Although I want to visit some University institutions, I am interested in studying Masters in Social Work by virtue of my volunteer experience and academic field in social science. Pls is social work in high demand at USA? How good is social work degree in terms of job prospects and career in the USA?

getting a work visa isn't as easy as it seems because the US will want your employer to state that your position in the organization cannot be filled by a US citizen... this means that you need to have a certain level of skill/expertise to qualify... plus your employer has to pay to process the visa...

I know that it isn't easy getting a work visa. But what I'm asking is that "is it legal or lawful to switch your visitor visa to work visa after entering the USA with a visitor visa?

- An education agent in Nigeria told me that my GPA of 3.04 on a 5 scale will not be sufficient for admission to an Australian University for Masters degree. And that agent advised me that I'll have to do pre-Masters or foundation program. Pls what does this pre-Masters really mean? Does it mean one would have another huge chunk of tuition fee for pre-Masters program before enrolling in Masters degree in the same field with another tuition payment to be made again? Is this really accurate because I'm doubting the claim that my 2nd class lower division grade of 3.04 wouldn't be enough for Australia Masters. Pls I need clarification on this.

Someone just mentioned earlier that James Cook University is now among the AL1 universities, and the above link is still 2017 which showed James Cook University among the AL2 as at then. And I am unable to figure out how to check the list

I recently got admission into Torrens University and didn't know it's been downgraded to an AL2 university. Their policy changed and processes became a bit tough. I will have to finish my Graduate certificate course online in 9ja, made up 4 subjects;as it will serve a one of the criteria of getting my grant, pending on my performance. Though I am yet to pay for my initial tuition fee.

I just found out another school, James Cook, an AL1 university though a bit higher in tuition. No IELTS and Bank statement involved. My preferred course of study isn't included I'm the masters program they run; but it's included in their BSc programs.

I need your help on what to do as it is urgent.. Thanks in anticipation.
