Hello everyone. I’m new here as my friend introduced me to this platform yesterday. I got my refusal letter from IRCC yesterday and I’m planning on reapplying immediately because I’ve already started taking my lectures online and I really do want to continue.
I wasn’t well informed before I applied for my visa. I didn’t write SOP, I didn’t show I had ties here and all. Please what can I do right now besides writing the SOP. I’m not working so I’m not earning money monthly but I used my Dad’s statement of account and it was over 4m that was shown on the statement of account. So could this be another reason I was rejected? Maybe the money’s not enough or something? I submitted the documents they requested I even wrote IELTS and passed it but I didn’t submit many other things like my additional qualifications, my Dad’s property documents and co. I just got to know all these now. Please I need advice, I want to reapply as soon as possible.

So so sorry about the outcome of your application, like you rightly thought, there are many loopholes in the package, the best thing to do is to order for your gcms note but for the fact that you've started online classes makes it a bit somehow. Please share the refusal notes here and let's see if our gurus could term the grey areas as direct and obvious.

Please stay strong, I understand how you feel. It's well

PPR Alert!!!

Hello Everyone!

So, a friend introduced me to this forum two weeks ago and I have taken my time since then to visit it once in a while to read people's stories and pray along
Before now, I hardly ever logged into my IRCC account to check updates, since I believed that they would email me regarding any update. So you can imagine my confusion when I started seeing posts saying "passed medicals" , "started eligibility review". I became frantic at one point oh. I was so worried that I told myself that I would send a webform today, only for me to get a PPR notification.

See something.
Congratulations.

Hello guys. I am new here and will appreciate your help in answering some questions. I am mostly familiar with the US immigration stuff so please pardon my ignorance here.

1.) I want to know if IELTS is required to attend schools in Canada. Does IRCC require that every student have IELTS even if the schools you are applying to does not require it?

2.) I currently live in the US. Would there be any issue if I am sponsoring my brother who lives in Nigeria to Canada? Would be be issues relating to home-ties?

3.) I know US mostly welcome students going for STEM programs. Is that the same in Canada or does Canada not care if you are going for a non-STEM program?

1 As an English speaking country,IELTS is waived by most schools in Canada for Nigerians. And it's not mandated by IRCC, but if you're considering going through NSE , which is supposed to be a faster route, then it's one of the requirements .

2 Absolutely no problem,in as much as your brother can demonstrate a solid home tie; job, family, properties , community involvement ati beebeelo.

3 it's less of a concern to them what you're going for, no priority is placed on any area of discipline. But please ensure that there's either academic/career progression in the proposed course of study, it's very very pataki

IRCC usually does verifications from the institutions so this can also be a dangerous move.

Yes they do,but if his eligibility has started, most likely the genuity of the LOA would have been done because it's one of the first few steps. What could pose as a problem is if the applicant is requested to submit another LOA,which in this scenario, the individual doesn't have or let's say outdated.

Hello Everyone, I wish to ask a question about this quarantine exemption. I’m fully vaccinated, and from the IRCC page I understand that I still have to make a quarantine plan.

Do I book a quarantine hotel and make 11 days booking for a quarantine Airbnb? Will I be able to get a refund from the hotels. I read through some hotel terms and conditions and going by the T&C, I won’t be able to cancel the bookings or request for a refund on the day I arrive.

Fully vaccinated ppl that have travelled recently, how did you manage the planning? I need tips, advice, instructions, whichever.

Thanks for your time.

You're definitely exempted, but I think the 3days hotel booking is still mandatory; just go ahead and book, you can easily request for a refund once you're cleared and another good thing is that there are some hotels that doesn't require you making a payment.

I am seeking an admission for a graduate diploma in foundations of Canadian Law...please how do I show career progression...

Note: I am a Nigerian lawyer already and the course I want to study is foundations of Canadian law....

Please help me!

Please guys I need your help on this.

From my layman's perspective, I think it's going to be a bit difficult relating how useful and relevant your course would be in solving problems in your home country.

Just my thought, hopefully the gurus will weigh in.

I guess it's faster, as some checks had been done in the previous application, so the concerned area will be scrutinized, and decision reached.

It will end in praise for us all.

Couple of months back; I would have totally agreed with you.

I don't think it's faster because I believe it's treated just like a fresh application and that's why a second applicant could still be rejected for another reason that wasn't up in the first application.

Just my thought though.

Hello house. Pls I need an answer to this question.. if an applicant receives Medical request, will he/she be given specific hospital where medical test should be taken or he has the right to do it any where?
I will be glad to read from you people.
Thanks

Mr Ogunleyesijibomi ,I'm fully aware that you know the answer to this question.

Anyway, the hospital won't be specified. The individual has a choice of booking an appointment with either IOM or QLIFE; these are the only recognized hospitals for now.

Canada is sweet but hard when you live alone with no family, it’s so depressing ngl. Wasn’t easy for me doing that for 4years. I have friends though but it’s different without family.
Now having my brother and sister coming over is what I’ve always dreamt of and I’m so happy my dreams came true.
My brother got approved in January: coming for bsc
My Sister got approved today: coming for masters
Thank you everyone for all the tips you give on here, it was really helpful. The land of maple will favour us all

Morning all,

Congrats in advance to PPR hopefuls.

Please I have a quick question. For those who did biometrics for a previous application. When you open study application, did your biometrics ever changed from 'we do not need your biometrics, if we do we will contact you. Though my previous biometrics shows on the right side when viewing on a laptop but that part under my application hasn't changed.

I want to be sure it's okay for it to stay that way or I have to do something so it states the date of my biometrics.

May application, medical passed June 15th.

I anticipate a response...I still don't know au to use this platform.

Not noticing any change or progress on the dashboard doesn't necessarily mean background work no dey go on.

You can send mail/webform once in a while to remind them.

Please if one wants to go through normal route, how long does it take after submitting application

Loooooooooooooong. If you have the capacity, please go through NSE, even at that,it still takes between 1-2 months depending on how lucky you are.

And the normal route; be prepared for psychological and emotional pressure that comes with endless waiting. 4-8 months

I am an April 4 applicant for fall semester. I did an upfront medical on July 1 and it was updated to medical passed on the 12th. Is this necessarily a good thing. I greatly appreciate your answers.

It's just a normal process, upfront medical doesn't in any way have an impact on the outcome of your application, the only advantage is shortening the whole process.
Keep the faith alive, it will surely end in praise

Hello guys, I just got admission into a college.
Please, I want to know if I must submit my sponsor (Dad) international passport) ? He doesn’t have.
Please, friends educate me the full required documents for visa application. Please guys.

God bless everyone.

It's not mandatory to submit Dad's international passport, any other mode of identification would do.

Now to the second part of your question; page 1 of this thread is all you need.

Hi guys, I just had to say it out loud that the wait is tiring. Today makes it exactly 6months I applied for my study permit. Applied Feb 13th and up until now no decision has been made. The wait is really tiring. Upfront medicals was updated to passed on 10th June and eligibility started the same day. I have sent webforms and mails to the point that they don't respond anymore but just give you the automated response of having received your mail. I applied for my GCMS notes on July 2nd. My waiting still continues. It is well cry cry

6months, na wah o.

How do you mean it wont be enough? Didn't you submit SOA with your application when applying? Or the money in that account isn't enough? I am just asking to know why you are worried... If you can't give a convincing reason than just being worried, then I will advise you shouldn't send any additional SOA if they didn't ask for it... If IRCC need additional documents from an applicant, they will ask.... So don't be too forward submitting what they didn't ask from you.... Like I said earlier, if you don't have a genuine or convincing reason than being worried, please do not submit, If they need additional documents as regards ur finances, they will contact you... Peace

Just looking at it from another perspective; for the individual to be worried, probably signifies that the POF tendered was just enough and not really-really in excess.

I don't think anything is wrong with adding an authentic and verifiable POF if it's going to strengthen your application, despite not being requested for.

I might be wrong; just my thought.

Hello everyone,

A quick question

In a case whereby one arrive at the Port of entry of a Canadian airport waiting to be issued a study visa .if the immigration officer asks for a tuition fee receipt and you get to tell him or her you haven't paid can that cause anything?

If you haven't paid then you should have an evidence of your capability to pay; you or your sponsor's statement of account with sufficient balance should do.
Just my thought o

Good Afternoon nairaland fam thanks for the help so far... I'm preparing my document to apply before the end of this month;l.
* My Father is my sponsor should he get MBS for his fixed account or should he collapse it to his savings account?
* He has a pension account should he get the MBS for the account even though he has not retired (he's not even near retirement age) or I should just use his salary account even though it's not up to 30CAD Please help me out

Dad surely can't get MBS for a pension account and I don't think it can be used as a tenable POF ,rather an establishment/investment.(I stand to be corrected).

Concerning the fixed account, I think it's better liquidated but if it's going to be left as fixed then a letter should be gotten from the financial institute stating the details of the said account and most importantly that it can be liquidated as at when needed.
Just my thought.
