ambr055i: Please, I need your advice because right now I'm confused about where to go, it's a lifelong decision.
I just turned 34 last month, still living with my uncle, but no pressure on his part is a big house. Currently, I teach in a school where my net salary and my home lesson inclusive are approx. N 100000 a month. I have a master's degree in engineering, so I haven't put that certificate to use. I have a saving of 900k, it will be higher by December. Although it would have been more than that, I lost 400,000 to the detriment of a bad investment. Last two years, I had an illness that struck (ENT related), which doesn't have a cure. One of the symptoms is vertigo (a sensation of feeling off-balance). This made me change my mind about travelling. For a few months now, I haven't had the experience.
I have three thoughts, but I can only do one at a time.
Firstly, leave my uncle's house, get an apartment. Use the rest of the money to start a business as a side hustle while working with the school.
Secondly, leave my uncle's house, get an apartment. Next, I invest my time in a tech skill (web dev, programming or data science).
Thirdly, travel to the US for my PhD program. I have already been preparing for my GRE before now.
Thank you. A fast one: learn an IT related skill, then save towards travelling out of the country. But such amount can still get you nice self contained apartment. But i must warn you, "never" consider marriage. |

Applying d use of force wud only make them to be more aggressive. Exactly. This administration has been using same method for 6 years. They never bothered to ask themselves why it's not working. But it is obvious though; they never wanted the violence to end. |

Kingosytex: A Nigerian man identified as Opeyemi, has narrated how a Baptist church asked him to take off his earring while he was on a groomsman duty in the church.
According to Opeyemi, he left and waited for his friend who fully backed his decision at the wedding reception and there is a mixed reactions about his decision as many wondered why he could not just take them off for a few hours.
Opeyemi, narrating the encounter, he said that he was at a Baptist church in Lagos as one of the groomsmen for his friend’s wedding when he was asked to pull off his earrings, adding that he left the service immediately for the reception as he would never follow such dogma.
He, therefore, used the opportunity to lambaste Nigerians version of Christianity. When people told him that he ought to have honoured his friend and acted accordingly, he said his friend was in full support of him.

GetMeRight: They never born anyone living in the south east well to criticise IPOB/ESN not to talk of accusing them. That's automatically death wish. From most of the incumbent governors to ex this and ex that to Ohaneze to elders. Death is the wages of sin against IPOB in the south east. Don't deceive yourself, we are all witnessing it. Some residents don't even need to criticise them, once they labelled you "traitor or betrayer", e don over for you be dat. Oga before you make such statements, make your findings and quite saying what you are not sure about. I have told you people stop reading Nigerian newspapers without your brains. The only reason people don't talk about IPOB in public is cos the DSS and police is everywhere, you don't know who is listening. People get picked up any how just by saying anything that us in favour of IPOB. Go to beer parlours where everybody knows everybody, people publicly express their views. I repeat, the only reason people mumble with ipob topics is to avoid being pointed at by the DSS or police agents. 3 months ego, I was in Anambra, I got to a bet shop where people were shouting, arguing on top of their voices about ipob. One party was in favour, few people thinks there are things they are doing right. At the end, they just yarbed and teased each other and all that, case closed. And e sure me say...that people know exactly the game Abuja politians are playing in Anambra and the rest of the east. |

Abemy: Yes, agreed Joe deserve what he gets, how about Chioma, Akunyili, and other innocent souls, who are neither security agent nor politicians?
It's unfortunate that those who wish Biafra should be actualize are the ones being killed by those who the have so much faith in their cause.
This is the exact way Bokoharam started, from security agencies to politicians, to Christians, to Muslims and now to any one at their disposal.
I can bet with Biafra flag that you are not residing in the south east, else, you wouldn't be sounding this way.
I doubt the Igbos will still vote for Biafra in a freely conducted, and not coerced referendum, due to these atrocious crimes committed against them by them.
God is watching. "I doubt the Igbos will still vote for Biafra in a freely conducted, and not coerced referendum, due to these atrocious crimes committed against them by them..." Why don't they get on with the referendum and see what happens. Igbos are smarter now, the North have never changed their strategy. Every reasonable Igboman knows who is behind the killings, no amount of bad blood will make them think otherwise. Abuja must stop killing this people, they have tried dominating the area through herdsmen, but they failed. Now they are trying to turn the people against them. They will also fail. Igbos are getting stronger! |
