Please I need someone to help me with Registration for TOEFL either Part or Full. I reach out to the school whose admission i was expecting before making a final decision, and they could not waive this request for me after my argument. Please anyone.

to me

Hi David,

Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, the English Proficiency requirement is set by The Ohio State University and Fisher College of Business is not able to waive this component from your application.

A few acceptable exemptions are below.

I apologize that I cannot grant you an exception with this request.

Best,

4 YEARS IN BANKING

3 YEARS in Media and broadcasting so far.

Babson ranks 1 in MBA enterpre and it is among the first 40 top schools in US
bracelum:
What is your profile in terms of work experience?
How many years of work experience and what industry?

Depending on your work experience or industry, I might tell you if a loan is worth taking for this adventure.

But what I will advice is that, I don't recommend taking loans for a below top 20 MBA program (in fact, I'm strongly inclined to top 15). If you can't get into a top 20 MBA program, then try to get fully funded for the MBA.

Also, MBA students mostly do not take up GA positions until their second years. The goal of an MBA is mostly to optimize your career path, so students mostly use their first years to secure the best internships they can get (it is very competitive).

Recruiting for MBAs generally ends after securing internships because over 90% of companies that recruit MBA interns end up hiring them fulltime after the internship. So, that is why a lot of them do not take up GA positions until their second years.

Don't take a loan for the CAM program. It's not worth it. Tell me about your work experience and then I can tell if taking a loan for Babson MBA is an optimal strategy. Overall, you have to kill yourself on test scores because that is the best way to get into quality programs with some scholarship. The average Harvard MBA student takes the GMAT 2-3 times - so you are not alone in the test score struggle.

Just make sure you aren't making a bad decision because I think taking a loan for CAM is not an optimal strategy.

I think you will be fine. One more thing, does your uncle share the same last name with you?

Thank you . I am going with my uncle account not company again. I have access to the account cos i requested for it officially.. My company also gave me letter of support.. that is long story thou.. I used my uncle to get i20 family funds
LagosismyHome:
on the topic of abuja ...no issue with that , there is no rule that states you can or cannot use lagos or abuja so that should be fine

Regarding statement i would always say consistent is the best as it raises less red flag or issues . If you used your dad to get i20 then it substantial enough . if you want to go with company account . i would say go with your dad and also company account . but you need to explain properly how you have access to the company fund to pay your fees

Thanks.

My aim is to put in for the MBA proper later.. I have had series of interview with this school. Infact i was asked to begin studying and take MBAmath and B speaking ahead of my studies.

As for $$ there are numerous loans that are available and no cosigner.

Do you think the $$ is not worth it?

I will also check out the other schools you suggested.

For me, writing GRE mutiple times does not trill me. I have see people get admitted even with scholarship with sores like this for Masters program. Remember, MBA students hardly get scholarship before arrival. It is mostly GA.

bracelum:
Yes, I know about the CAM program at Babson.

But I must inform you that the CAM is not a substitute for an MBA. Employers do not view the CAM certificate the same way they view the MBA. So, you will mostly likely not be recruited for roles that require an MBA. Have that in mind.

If you are taking the CAM so that you can later get the Babson MBA, then that is okay as long as you have the $$ to pay for it.

Though if I may give my ultimate advice, I will advise that you calm down, rewrite the GRE or GMAT, get a better score and join a decent-good MBA program for fall 2020. For instance, the MBA programs at Penn State, ASU and Notre Dame are not elite programs but they may give you more utility than Babson's CAM or even Babson's MBA.

Hello Guys, Please assist me to review my little concerns

I have been to the embassy twice.

The major rejection was cos my company was sponsoring me.

The first time in Abuja Embassy was alm9ost successful as the VO requested i bring a letter stating how much the company is supporting me with.

However the second time time Abuja, the VO black lady, didn't allow me explained better, the added document. In fact, i spent almost 10 mins to explain to her the letter with the bank statement of 25mill with a turn over of 600millon in 6 months. But she said the statement does not show enough money even thou my first year tuition is 7million

Now, i applied to Babson college for MBA, but was admitted for their CAM program which is a program i did start in spring 2020 and upon completion i am able to apply the credit to the MBA and my GMAT requirement will be waived. NOTE I had 285b in GRE but was low for admission to Babson, while i was admitted by Cleveland state university for Spring 2019 but defer to fall cos i was denied visa and now i also have Wright state university admission for Summer 2019

My worry is, should i wait till spring 2020 and reapply for visa with Babson college a Number 1 private enterprenuer business college in US/Boston or
I reapply for visa this Fall to entreated my CSU (Ohio) which i have been to the embassy with.

Note: I do not want to be seen as jumping from one school to another hence i wanted to maintained same school.

However Babson is top rank school.

Noe:This time i am going with my Uncle account with over 64million balance.

Thanks guys, i anticipate your reactions and valid comments

THANK YOU for taking time to respond. I did seat for the GRE and my score is 285. 145 VERBAL, 138 QUANT and 3.0 Writing. There is no way CSU will admit you without a GRE for MBA.

Also, i didn't get the full MBA program of babson becos of my low GRE/GMAT. The chool sees my potential and that is why they introduced and admitted me to the CAM program.

Interestingly, this program is FULL TIME 9MOTH, and student successfully completion of this program.

BABSON CAM PROGRAM

Fast Track: Earn 9 credits in as little as 1 semester, or take your time and graduate in 3 years.
Flexible Format: Choose classes that match your interests, schedule, and learning preference, including full-time and part-time classes on weekends, evenings, and online.
Stackable: Earn a 3.0 minimum GPA in the CAM program and you may apply your credits toward a future Babson graduate degree, and waive the GMAT requirement for your Babson MBA.
Scholarships Available: A 20% tuition reduction is offered for Babson degree holders, first res-ponders, veterans, and active duty members of the military.
International Student Options: Maintain F-1 visa eligibility by taking either 9 credits in 1 semester or 15 credits in 2 semesters. OPT is available for 2-semester students only.....
bracelum:
Hi,

From your experience, I can tell that your main issue is sponsorship. You can (or rather, you could have) easily solved this by taking the GRE/GMAT and getting financial aid. It seems you are trying to run away from standardized tests but that is the best way to get financial aid that will save you the stress of carrying an uncle's account of 60m naira to the embassy and trying to convince the VO that you are a genuine student.

I will advice you to go with whichever program you think you like. Babson has a strong entrepreneurship MBA (well-reputed within the business space), but overall, I don't think the brand name will ring a bell to the ears of the VO same way an Ivy or a top 10 traditional program will do. The top rank entrepreneuship MBA program offered at Babson is mostly known within the business space and it will be extremely hard for someone outside of the business space to recognize that. So, I don't think the brand will help you in this situation because the VO will most likely not know about Babson's reputed entrepreneurship MBA except he/she uses Google during your interview.

Also, only Babson's MBA is ranked highly in entrepreneurship and from my understanding, you are enrolling for the CAM, which is a certificate program and not even a fulltime degree. So, telling the VO you are admitted by a "number 1 business college" when actually the rank is just for a specific area that is not well known outside the space doesn't make sense. You can instead talk about Babson's strong rank in entrepreneurship, but don't expect this reason to ring a bell same way a Harvard/Wharton/Stanford GSB/Kellogg/Booth/MIT Sloan MBA will do. And if you mention the strong entreprenruship ranking, and you can't link the degree to how it will help you become a entrepreneur in the "why this degree" question, you will give yourself multiple shots on the leg.

Let's not forget the fact that your program is the CAM program and not even the entreprenruship-MBA program. So you have a higher hill to climb since your program is a certificate program and not a degree.

It seems you did not take the GMAT or GRE. That might work against you and I noticed you wanted to use the CAM to bypass the GMAT/GRE requirement. Why spend such a huge amount just to waive GMAT/GRE when you can do that with just <100K naira and 4 months of dedicated prep?

In summary, I think both schools and programs are similar and Babson might not ring a bell (as you think) to the ears of the VO except the VO knows business programs very very well, which is highly unlikely.

My advice is for you to choose any of both programs (CSU or Babson) that seems best for you. Or since you don't mind waiting till the spring semester, you should take the GMAT/GRE, get financial aid for spring semester and avoid having to give long explanations to the VO regarding your sponsorship.

Lemme try to help you the best way I can. Am currently doing a masters degree in Information systems at Cleveland state university and it would be wonderful to have a Nigerian too in the department

First, How did you hear about this school?
If you say your Dad's friend/alumni, it better be true. If they ask you for his name and you go blank. Remember they have a database and can run instant search. You are better off saying you knew about the school after doing online searches than for you to be caught lying.

Secondly, Why Cleveland State University for a business seeking degree and not top schools.
Remove your mind from the bolded. You are going for an IT degree and not really a business degree. Even though Cleveland state university houses this program under their business school, the other school I applied to housed the same program under their Library science faulty, Engineering Faculty, Computer Science faculty etc. I just get to have a MBA upon graduation though. grin lol
Nevertheless, you response to this question was too generic. Most schools in the US have good and quality professors. I guess the other schools you applied to would have good professors too. If you must talk about good professors then you would need to name one or two professors and highlight their achievements.
Also you said something about "well equipped with appliances that would help me not to only gain theorical knowledge, but practical knowledge as well". This is way too generic. Try to talk specific appliances/laboratory equipments like "access to new generation graphic processor units for brute force attack simulations, cloud computing infrastructures etc. Dude, Look for more examples.
Then try to remove the location of downtown Cleveland as a determinant for you choosing the schools. Downtown of a city might not be the most conducive environment for learning. You don't want to institute an element of doubt in the VO

Thirdly, your response to "Why Information systems and What this degree would do for you is not really top notch. To me both questions are similar and the same answer would suffice for both. Try to relate the answers to the knowledge you gained on your computer and hardware engineering apprenticeship. This is really your strongest point and it would be in your best interest to talk about it at every slight opportunity. Talk about how this degree would improve upon the knowledge you gained back then and also give you knew skill sets (you will talk about specific skill sets here too o). Then you can finish work with how you would return back to Nigeria to apply all this knowledge on big IT firms like Interswitch, google, Andela, Cisco etc.

You can also view my visa transcript incase you need further help

Do all this and I might be welcoming you with a big hug to Cleveland in January. You go just bring two paint of garri and egusi for me. You know as e dey be na. grin
Hello baba,
