naptu2: Presidential security is done in layers. That's why you saw in my opening post I laid the primary blame at the feet of Compol Lagos, Dcompol Ops Lagos and the President's CSO (the President has no idea of the details of the road closures, route lining, etc). However, the President is still the Commander in Chief and he can take action if he wants to.

This is how his security is built up.

1) The first person to know about the president's visit is usually Compol and the State Director SSS. Compol is informed that the President is on his way. The controller (on the orders of Compol) broadcasts a message to the police stations (divisions) on along the president's route (eg, this morning, Anthony Village Division and Adeniji Adele division would have been told to provide one SPO and 5 policemen for route lining). These are the people that will enforce the road closures. The President does not know these men.

2) Compol prepares his best men (in the case of Lagos that would be RRS) and vehicles that would form the outer layer of the President's motorcade. The President does not know these men.

3) However, the inner layer of the President's security is provided by his own guards. Some of them fly into town the night before (if it's a scheduled visit) and others fly in with him.

4) When movement starts, Dcompol ops will be in the advance team (road close) while Compol will be in the President's motorcade. Dcompol ops gives the "road close" order. However, he can be over-ruled by the President's CSO.

A) And this is the point. I've seen many situations where the Principal has ordered the CSO to vary security because of the negative effects it would have on citizens. This is not usual advisable, because the CSO is the professional, but it's been done many times and the security details must obey.

I remember that Tiger (Obasanjo's security nickname) did this many times.

B) My real grouse is that the rights of the citizens are not taken into account at all. The point is that the security of the president is extremely important, but so also are the rights of the citizens. Professional security men will balance these two. Fly where possible. Go unannounced where possible. Vary the time of you arrival where possible. Fly into military airfields where possible. The problem is that these options exist, but are not being used, because the security details do not take into account the rights of the citizens. The President can change this (I know he has suffered from this same problem. His cousin's arm was broken) if he wants to, through direct orders to his CSO and through improved training.

mikuz: whats the mumu thing about signing a new record deal ? Guy you are actually the one who hates 9ice. Dont you want the brother to progress? The guy has made a move to re-ignite his music career that seems to be nose diving by signing a new record deal and your are just busy talking trash? I remember a couple of years back when Id Cabasa(the guy who is responsible for 40% of his success) was saying on national tv that 9ice has turned into something else. That since the dude has now become a 'big star' he no longer wants to associate with him. Truth is that 9ice stuppidly made away with those who were the pillars of his career. He lost most of his fans after he seperated with Tony and Rugged. If its true that 9ice did not sign any new deal as you claim and in contrary to the links I have posted can you paste a link backing your claim ? Psquare,2face and Wizkid had their different record labels when Akon signed them. Same thing for Dbanj and Jazzy with Kanye's G.o.o.d music when they were together. Guy you well so ? Check yourself before you wreck yourself.
