DevilsEqual:Are u kidding me? Egypt was conquered by the Romans, Cleopatra was d last monarch. Egypt was subjugated under d Roman empire then the Arabs came and conquered Egypt just after d death of Prophet Mohammed and Arabized d country. Then Egypt was conquered by d Ottomans and remained their vassal for hundreds of years till d British came and conquered Egypt from d Ottoman Turks. Only last century did Egypt finally get her independence since d time of Queen Cleopatra. So when u say Egypt was never conquered, u are so so wrong. They were not only conquered but almost completely Arabized, their national identity completely changed to that of their conquerors, d worst thing that can ever happen to a people. |
The policies of the FG over the years have hit Nigerians so had. Over and over again, we have laid siege at the FG without any solution. We have always known that only a fool keep repeating same thing hoping for a different outcome. Isn't it clear to Nigerians that the tier of govt with the capacity to really ameliorate our suffering is not the federal but the states? I will highlight two areas where d govs have overwhelming responsibility but out of wickedness have refused to act. First is transportation and the second is food security. I am starting with transportation because it is the clear and present danger to us right now with the astronomical rise in fuel prices. The govs have benefitted most from subsidy removal as their allocations in some cases have more than doubled. Presently major state capitals are like ghost towns as residents have packed their cars at home with only private transport operators driving the roads, exploiting the masses. Yet the governors have refused to lift a finger. Markets are now scanty, parents don't know how to take their wards to school, private biz now open on needs basis and govt offices now rotate the days staff should come to work. To me this is a shame, a crime on the part of the governors. Are we saying the poorest state in Nigeria cannot set aside N2b from one month's allocation to buy twenty 30-seater buses even at a cost of N100m per bus and deploy it to their major cities for commuters to use at reasonable prices? A state like Delta receives up to N40b in allocation, besides IGR. So the gov cannot set aside N2.5b for 25 buses, 8 for Asaba, 8 for Warri and remaining 9 spread around other major towns or for intra state travel? What stops Delta govt from further leasing these buses to God is Good or Agofure Motors to run them on behalf of the state govt so that there would be maintenance and accountability after agreeing on what to charge commuters? Why are govs so wicked and why are we Nigerians so stupid to keep overlooking a problem the govs can easily solve? A state like Edo has perhaps the most experienced transport coys in Nigeria that can help them run the scheme so professionally but no, the govs have zero interest, they rather join us to be blaming FG in Abuja. Or is transportation on the exclusive list? What wickedness! Food security is such a painfully situation that we d citizens need to be flogged. The FG has no land except in d FCT, they cannot provide us food, except we like believing them when they lie. In my opinion, d federal ministry of Agric should be scrapped and replaced with a ministry of Agric Research. That ministry to me is just a pool to either waste or siphone money. The tier of govt that can ensure food security is the state govt cos they have all the land yet they are refusing and are joining us the foolish lot to blame only the FG. Yes d FG has failed to give enough security to our farmers but the state govt have the capacity to set up farms, lease them to private people and feed their states. Am of the Edo/Delta axis and know that each of our govs have good land to farm 500 hecters of plantain each. That's a very simple crop that produce in a year, can easily be converted to flour with the most basic technology and create a huge food industry. Such farms don't need to be done in the thick forest, govt have lands that can easily be assessed and safe from herdsmen. But they wickedly refuse. I have plantains doing so well in my compounds both in Edo and Delta and am gutted why the govs are enjoying the hunger of her own citizens when they have arable lands and the money required is not so much and the youths and even elders are there ready to farm if they have the land. Some states will rather be busy signing MOUs on agric with multinational companies that will never put food on the table of the ordinary man. Nigerians need to stop the foolery. The govs have been on honeymoon for too long. Time to galvanise the civil society groups, NLC, student bodies a d activists that this time we are facing the govs. Let a day be fixed for peaceful marches to all govt houses and make demand of governors to buy transport buses, they don't have to be electric or CNG, diesel buses are ok. We will agree on a timeline and if they fail to deliver on that day, we lead a more crippling protest. Same for food security , let them give us timeline for visible investment in food crop. We have been fools for the govs for too long, like a lady a man keeps having for free without the slightest material or emotional care for her, without any promise or indication of future, let the govs know that the babe has wise up. Enough of their rubbish. |
HighChiefZino:U are correct, they are indeed suffering under d current PDP gov Obaseki and they need to be tired of d suffering and change direction |

It's time Nigerians especially Niger Deltans consistently call out Rivers and Delta state governors. These are d two states with potentials to at least compete with Lagos even from behind cos of the allocations they get and IGR. But Fabura went into an unnecessary political fight that has grounded dev in his state, d man has zero emotional intelligence, he would have used projects to silence Wike in his first term and assert independence subsequently. A rail line signature project from PH to Onne or wherever would had set d tone. Delta is perhaps d greatest embarrassment of them all. The state enjoys political stability like no other state in Nigeria but that stability has been turned to grave yard development. Delta is just silent. Yet a signature rail line from Asaba to Warri thru Ughelli or wherever would give d state d back bone, d terrain is not too swampy but no one even thinks in that direction, d citizens are mainly civil servants who go to work by 10 and close by 2pm, their stock in trade is to insult d FG, no one dare call Gov Sherrif to remind him to perform as gov. Delta has perhaps d most politically benign citizens in Nigeria. Their state govt does zero yet lavish so much wealth in their presence yet they don't speak out against him, they wait for month end, collect their salary and go and insult Buhari (Tinubu) for the kekes that is d mode of transport instaed of mass transit buses and d drainage that are blocked with single use plastics that d Commissioner of Environmental doesn't give a damn about |
fergie001:EK Clark is an indigene of Delta, not Rivers state so what exactly is his direct interest? Delta is wallowing in underdevelopment despite being d highest recipient from federation account, no star infrastructural projects in d state, nothing to excite one about being Deltan besides poverty yet d old man stays silent and pokes his nose in d affairs of another state. He should respect himself and his age. |
DatoDatuk:Rubbish, skit perhaps. So people don't lock d doors when they are having sex? This is not possible, even if d husband has d keys, d lady would lock d doors from d inside with d key in d keyhole to prevent any key from being inserted from d outside. No woman jokes with "have u locked d doors?" Not to talk of a cheating married woman. Abeg this na lie, they are just looking for views to make money |

Arise is a biased pants on fire newsmedia otherwise they should had fat checked this Odigie that Tiny u did indeed score 25% in Edo and that Adams Oshiomole was d only APC leader in 2023 that could deliver his senatorial zone. Mr Odigie is from Edo Central or Edo South,as a member of Presidential Campaign Council, could you deliver your Senatorial district to APC? Could u deliver ur local govt? These are none entities that use d bitter ess of Arise TV to seek validity. He is not known in Edo politics |
Zulu11zulu:The refineries did not work under Buhari or GEJ or YarAdua or Obasanjo. So how is Tinubu now d factor that has kept refineries from working? |
Melezenawii:In Delta State, gov Sheriff is so unbothered. There is no single state intervention in public transportation. This is a gov that receives d highest allocation nationwide but u can't see development anywhere in d state. Sheriff is relaxed cos Deltans don't ever demand development from him. Listen to phone in programs, u will never hear them blame or demand anything from d gov, it's Tinubu and FG only they abuse and blame even for clogged gutters and refuse dumps that are hardly evacuated. I don't know if Deltans swore an oath never to demand good governance from state govt. Delta is by far d worst underperforming state in Nigeria |
AcuraZDX:Olodo, to defect means to leave a political party and move to another, d key phrase is moving to another, like Gbajue Peter Obi did severally. When u leave a political party and don't join another, u did not defect, also when u leave a political party and then form another one, it means u did not defect. It's like saying Buhari defected from ANPP to CPC, no he did not, he formed CPC just like Tinubu formed AC and later ACN. Do u know d sacrifice and effort it takes to form a political party from d scratch? That's something Gbajue Peter Obi doesn't have d character to do cos he is an opportunist, he always jumps to parties others formed with their sweat and sacrifice. It's d same way of his leader and mentor Atiku Abubakar. That's why both of them can never be president. No defector will be president of Nigeria. Neither OBJ nor YarAdua nor GEJ nor PMB nor PBAT was a defector and they became president. Gbajue Peter Obi and Atiku are serial defectors and can never be President of Nigeria. |
IfnobeGod20:Is it that very simple things are very complex to you to understand? There was no more SDP as at 1999, Abacha dissolved it in 1993. It only came back in name after 2003 when Tinubu was already an AD governor. So how could Tinubu be said to had decamped from it? Upon return to democracy in 1999 d only three parties were PDP, APP and AD. Even if u were not born then, at least u are literate enough to read on social media, why not read up Nigeria history so u don't keep embarrassing yourself in social media? |
AcuraZDX:You told multiple lies, we dealt with d one that was too obvious even to a baby. Now to d AD part, Tinubu and his group in AD realized they were a regional party and wanted to merge with others to form a national party but d Afenifere group of Ayo Adebanjo and co wanted to stay pure. This is d faction that sold out to OBJ during d 2003 elections. By them OBJ had infiltrated and decimated them so Tinubu and his group left to form AC and later ACN. He never decamped to another party, that's d point unlike d record holder of decamping and Agulu fraudstar Gbajue Peter Obi. Now is that too difficult for u to comprehend?? |
IfnobeGod20:The SDP of today is not d same as SDP of 1992 never mind name and logo. SDP of 1992 was formed by a decree of IBB, that party was dissolved by Abacha by another decree in 1994. In 1999 SDP did not exist, d SDP that came later around 2004 has no bearing with d SDP of 1992. Some of u children will make someone to be explaining very basic things, like teaching a two years old how to read ABC |
AcuraZDX:Hope u are not typing with your parent's or elder sibling's phone? Otherwise u would have known there was no SDP in 1999, only PDP, APP and AD. That man Tinubu has never crossed to a party since 1999. He always built a new one from scratch. |
SatoshiX:Is it not dollars u will use to import the food? Where do u expect to find d dollars or did u starch them at home? |
SmartPolician:I was replying to a call to make him another Paul Biya or Museveni, we would had been in a far terrible state by now. If u take item by item, u can list many presidents that did better than him. In upholding rule of law and d tenets of democracy, both Yar Adua and GEJ did far better than him. In building critical national infrastructure, Buhari did better than him. |
SmartPolician:Nigeria had d worst road networks under OBJ, zero rail investment and d power sector saw zero improvement under him. Can u point to any critical national infrastructure he completed? We had d worst fuel crises under him and he introduced d use of raw cash to bribe lawmakers. Under him political assassinations were so prevailant, serving Minister were killed and till date culprits were never found plus several top members of his party were gunned down. State govs were illegally impeached sometimes with less than a third of d numbers and proceedings done outside d state. His politics was so bad that he and his deputy openly insulted themselves and he proceeded to remove his deputy till d courts stopped him and d worst elections ever were conducted under his watch. So what exactly made OBJ d best president and deserving to rule us in perpetuity? |
BuharisBoy:So govt should use 80% of its revenue to pay govt workers who constitute less than 10% of the population? What happens to the remaining 90% who are not govt workers and who are self employed? U think only empowering d tiny percentage of govt workers is what would spur consumption and economic growth? Whats d productivity of govt workers anyway? Hope u know we can do without a large number of them? |
olisaEze:U seem to lie even more than your master Peter Obi. How can u say no state confucted LG elections since 1999 till your Gbajue master did in 2014? I lived and worked in Lagos, Delta, Enugu and Edo all through that period and they all were conducting elections on d regular. Make una dey fear God before una lie |
Svoboda:Ned bulldoze his way how? U think this is Regina Daniel's bra and pants? The man is a first term senator, non ranking, his mates will just be laughing at him. Do u know d constitutional barriers to states creation? Ordinary LG not one has been created since 1999 not to talk of states. A whole David Mark as Senate president for 8 years could not create Apa state for his Idoma people who till now are not allowed to rule Benue state, u think Munir Ned will bulldoze d Senate. No state can be created under this constitution take it or leave it. To create a new state 2/3 of national Assembly members must first agree. That means senators and Reps from Idoma area and Okun area in Kogi and Ogun and Ijaw that also wants their states must also agree. Why should they agree to Anioma and Ned when u have not also agreed to theirs? After that it goes to d various states house of assembly and 24 states must agree. Is it states that also wants new states that will agree to your own when u have not agreed to their own? And it doesn't end there, a referendum will now take place in d affected area. Look, it's a waste of time, no one is giving South East another state cos they already have most representation per population. Their population is the least, their land mass is the least, no region will agree to add a state to them without adding a state to the other regions also. The thinking in both the north and SW is that d SE is even too small to have 5 states and without them u can't get d required 2/3 NA members and 24 states. Can only 5 SE states vote to give Ned Anioma State? Even d whole South has only 17 states, not up to d 24 required and I guarantee u Anioma or additional SE state won't get d blessing of up to 3 states in d SW if they get one at all |
legitnow:This map shows that u are an armed robber. Why do u guys like to grab territories? Southern protectorate included the entire South apart from Lagos colony which was just Lagos Island. Southern protectorate ran from Surulere, Ikeja, Ilupeju, Abeokuta, Ibadan, Ondo, Benin all d way to Enugu in d East plus Port Harcourt and Calabar. Why are u carving out Southern protectorate as Eastern Region plus Midwestern region? This is how u guys have used propaganda and lies to annihilate your children. What a people!! |
BentizilL0:Was it not Muslims that hit d twin towers on Sept 11 killing over 3k innocent people unprovoked? Those Muslims were members of alqaeda and were taking shelter in Afghanistan. Afghanistan were told to expel them, they refused cos d Taliban govt sponsored them. So what was d US supposed to do to get justice? On Libya, no Christian invaded Libya, d Libyans on their own rose against Gadafi, and when he was annihilating them, NATO countries intervened with no fly zones. Yes Iraq was d only misadventure on d list but Iraq itself has been a violent regime attacking and annexing it's neighbors |
KEVIND:This Bolanle is a disgrace to her father. If she had little sense she ought to know d refusal was due to something d dad must had done when he was ambassador there that blacklisted him, not cos he is a Nigerian. So many ordinary Nigerians get Austrian visas every year. Now she is going to make journalists inquisitive and dig out her father's dirty past. Shame |
Amah70:LOL it's obvious I have gotten under your skin so maybe I should take it a little easier with u. First, where am from in Edo is irrelevant to d discussion as I didnt even bother finding out where u are from. Only reason I disclosed my being Edo was cos there was an inference I was Yoruba which am not. Dont know why many of u are paranoid about those guys. Am not here to brandish my credentials but u are d least to lecture me on economic terms. GDP are estimates, not very objective parameters. That's why a country can wake up and rebase while another country doesn't. Domestic devaluation can change a country's GDP suddenly also. Different countries use different years as their base. And take Nigeria for example, cos of the year we based on, fintechs are completely excluded from our GDP cos they came to existence after d base year which could mean our GDP is understated. The most objective and realistic measure is the revenue your economy is able to generate. Whats d use of a huge GDP that can't generate revenue? In that case GDP would only measure potentials. If a lender is advancing credit to an economy, he would be more interested in d revenue flow than in GDP, GDP doesn't repay loans. Now u see why flaunting those GDP figures are meaningless? The important point is what are u contributing to d federation account and what are u generating for yourselves? No one cares d reserves of gas or "vibranium" u have under d ground. The inconvenient truth is that d SE are both parasitic a d lagging behind. On your claim that your SE people are d ones all over d country generating VAT for other states, that's a lame argument. U have no figures to prove that and d Nigerian census has no provision for ethnic group. Whoever is counted in Anambra is an Anambarian and who is counted in Delta is Deltan. Charity begins at home, if u are so good why don't u mirror it at home? The Jews are good everywhere in d world, u see it in d state of Israel. Everywhere Indians are, u can see their IT prowess, they replicate it in India. If u generate VAT for other states why not generate it also in d SE? And u are telling me what VAT is? Don't be ridiculous! Am your master in that field! |
Amah70:You are beating your chest for fiscal federalism as if d SE is ready for it. Talk is cheap, how many SE states joined Rivers State in d suit before d Supreme Court to cede VAT collections to states as it's a sales tax and not covered in d exclusive list? Only Lagos was bold enough, no SE states joined d suit. Infact Ebonyi openly pleaded that VAT should remain as it is because she would suffer immensely should VAT go to states. The SE is as parasitic to the Niger Delta and Lagos as Zamfara and Yobe are, let's be honest here. BTW am Edo, Anambra or Imo doesn't contribute to d federation account from oil as much as we do, no state in d entire SE has IGR even close to us so chill, talk is cheap. It's good to know ur place in the Nigerian federation so that butterflies don't start thinkingof themselves as birds just cos they can fly. Kind regards |
pazienza:Am glad u corrected me there meaning you accept every other thing I said was correct. Thank u |
Amah70:You are talking as if no state has been created from d Eastern Region. It has grown from one to 9 today. Western region grew from one to 8 today. So Eastern Region has actually cheated d old Western region. Cos d old Western region is SW plus Edo and Delta while old Eastern Region is SE plus Cross Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa. And remember it was d Eastern Region that rejected any idea on independence for d Eastern minorities in their region, even when d Wilinks commission recommended creation of Calabar Ogoja Rivers state, d Eastern regiin leadership rejected it while d western region allowed d creation of Midwestern region. But today old Eastern Region still has more states than old Western region yet u are still complaining. Why do u guys complain over everything? As for use of landmass or otherwise to create states, let's leave landmass, what about population? That's d main criteria anywhere in d world. In terms of population does d SE which is by far d least deserve more states than d other zones? Capital No, they are already over represented, d number of lawmakers they have in d NASS per person is by far d most. On d north having d most states and their military rulers using their position to favour them, that's d price we in d South paid for our lack of unity. In 1959 before independence, d South had d chance to lock in d new nation in our favour. NCNC under Zik and AG under Awo could had united to form a coalition govt and taken over Nigeria. Awo even offered Zik d Premiership during negotiations but while discussions were still on, Zik went to NPC and surrendered premiership to them and took d figurehead Governor General/Ceremonial President. That's how d north took over Nigeria. It was d fault of Zik and NCNC led by Igbos. The 1966 coup was an attempt by mainly Igbo military officers to remedy that anomaly but it failed resulting in d unfortunate civil war where d Igbos were again on d loosing side. So bro in life, u can't get on d negotiating table what u lost in war. The north now has d controlling numbers and sealed it with d 1999 constitution. Can u go to war again with them to take it by force? You will again lose cos they are very much entrenched in d military. Best bet is to continue to use persuasion and stealth, and hard diplomacy cos bravado will not take u any where. Assuming d SE was like d Niger Delta which has oil deep in her region, a form of blackmail would had worked but none of that. That's why u have been doing sit at home for four years and no one really give a hoot about u. I tell u if Niger Delta states declare sit at home and d people are complying, d Nigerian state will panic and find some resolution. Such is life, all fingers are not equal, know ypur strengths and weaknesses and dont over reach yourself. Kind regards |
ALLNIGERIANSMAD:Do you really believe those statements credited to IBB were said by him? The man is so discreet and doesn't talk any how. Ask those quoting him where exactly he said it. These IPOB boys can manufacture anything and attribute it to u |
TimeManager:My brother thanks for your brilliant write up. Ned Nwoko is a clown, u can even see how he looks in d red cap. Perhaps he consulted only Regina who advised him. On a serious note, no state can be created under our existing constitution. Any new state created means a dilution of d NASS numbers and FAAC sharing ratio of d existing states and d north will resist it with their numbers. U need 24 states houses of assembly to concur to this. The north alone has 19 so tell me why Benue will agree to Anioma when u are yet to give them Apa for d Idomas? Why will Kogi vote yes when u are yet to give Okun? Why would even Bayelsa vote yes when u have not given them Tory Ebe. Why would Ogun votebyes when u are yet to give them a state since d days of Onabanjo? Why would Kano, Katsina, Sokoto vote yes so hat u dilute their FAAC revenue. Pls this is a non starter. Let Ned go back to Regina and consult for something else |
pazienza:So employees are happy to work four days in d week and get paid for d entire week? What of employers? Are they also happy? Do u know how many businesses have withheld expansion into the SE cos of this evil forced sit at home? U think salary to pay employees comes from where? Revenue? Sit at home is shrinking revenue and with time they will start downsizing. Oh and an Anioma state won't be too different from Ondo, small derivation and they will struggle to pay minimum wage. U say other regions will agree to give SE another state cos of equity. Really? In terms of population, SE is by far d smallest, also smallest by land mass but I don't even wanna go there. What matters most is population and by that SE is cheating both NW and SW. SE for d sake of equity doesn't even deserve to be a geopolitical zone, but fortunately zones are not recognized in d constitution. Let me outline to u, u may not like hearing this but d north and SW holds d key in any constitutional amendment cos d law requires 2/3 votes in both chambers and then another concurrence in 24 states, 19 of which are in d north. Why should d NW agree to dilute it's majority by allowing an extra state even in d South? Politics is about interest, u should know they won't agree, this is just a waste of time. The process of state creation is so cumbersome that there is no need trying. David Mark was Senate President for 8yrs, he kept promising his Idoma people Apa state to end their marginalization in Benue. Could he achieve it? No. So how can okor Regina, a first term non ranking Senator achieve his phantom Anioma? Abegi, let's go and argue more serious issues |
pazienza:This man wants d peaceful Delta North people to start observing d Monday sit at home by force, a very peaceful terrain u want to invite IPOB ESN and UGM? Anyway no need debating this, no state will be created under this dispensation except u are ready to create at least 5 other states accross d country. Creation of new states would mean additional senators and house of Reps members and that would alter d status quo balance of power in d national Assembly. Other regions especially d north won't agree and it need d approval of 24 states so rest matter. But this Ned Nwoko has a way of chasing after wild goose, was he not same person that brought a bill to allow private citizens carry arms? Instead of him to concentrate on what's workable like LG autonomy, local policing, disarming herdsmen and anti open grazing to allow farmers return to their farms, once Regina touches him somewhere, he rushes a meaningless bill to d Senate |
Natbrowny:You have read that someone sold their property where they were. Living in Nigeria to relocate and u are asking why are they not coming back if things are hard. To where should they come back to? Do u think d process of relocating back is an easy one? They may complain and wish they never relocated but coming back is hardly an option cos they have sold all, they have no where to come back to. Perhaps with time they will adjust to their new location and make d best out of it |
