Indispensable85:Young man stop sounding condescending and patronizing yourself. Deputies don't decide elections, a Kwankwaso won't had made Obi win d last election even in Kano. Being at d head of a ticket is what matters. Deputies may sway votes but u cannot cite any election in Edo or Nigeria where d running mate was d deciding factor. Am through with u |
Indispensable85:I think I have followed politics long enough to understand that deputies on their own don't swing elections for their principals, they are to help energize d base of identified interest, it's d principal that wins d race. Mike Ogiadome never won Afenmai votes for Lucky, after all who knew him then? Neither did Odubu win Edo South for Oshiomhole, he was just chosen to generate interest of d Binis, he was never popular in 2007, just an obscure former HOR member. Same with Phillip, he didn't win Edo North for Obaseki, twas Oshiomhole and to underscore that, in 2020 Phillip couldn't even deliver Jattu. Datti couldn't pull much for Obi in Kaduna cos Obi was not sellable in d north simple. Even if El Rufai was on his ticket as VP he still won't win. So u don't go about looking for d most popular person to become Deputy, d people understand deputy is spare tyre and he is not d real one they are voting for. What u need is a deputy that d majority of d people can identify with as their own. Otherwise who is that superstar in any of d LGs in Edo South that will deliver victory on his own credentials for a fatally flawed governorship candidate? Name one of such |
Gistmedia10:Correction pls; Ndigbo women curse Yakubu, worthless curses that mean nothing. Atiku came second, even if Tinubu was cut off, Atiku is next not Obi. That man never had a chance, go rest |
Indispensable85:It's not about d individual but d voting population. Those three local govts are d nucleus of Bini metropolis and any credible person picked from there will immediately generate populism around his name. The politicians have boys and hang around, once they pick one of them as deputy, his boys and hang around will generate momentum around him cos they have d numbers. That's d science of politics |
senatordave1:Reconcile with Oshiomhole yes, call him leader and offer him to nominate maybe three Deputy Gov candidates from Oredo or Ikpoba Okha or Egor from which he will select one (that rules out Dennis, he is not sellable in Benin) plus maybe 3 commissioners. As for Phillip Shuaibu, no need reaching to him, Phillip has no political clout in Edo North or even Etsako, all thru his quarrels with Oshiomhole, he kept losing even his home town Jattu to Oshiomhole so of what value is Phillip? Na Oshio matter for Edo North. Okpebholo has a good chance as he is not a stooge to Oshiomhole andpeople don't want Obaseki's stooge either |
2aces:No offence meant but how old are u? If u were an adult and had a little interest in politics and d economy ten years ago, then u should had known this was one of d major news during d era of Jonathan, Sanusi and Aruma Otteh as DG of SEC from 2011 to 2014. There was even a House of Reps Committee sitting on d issue when Hon Hembe questioned Arumah Otteh on d issue of selling Intercontinental to it's debtors and by d time Jonathan removed Sanusi as CBN Gov, Jim Obazee who is presently auditing d CBN was asked to investigate d petition by Akingbola regarding d fraudulent sale of Intercontinental Bank. Obazee started a sitting but was stopped by a court and d matter fizzled away. So go and do a little research, a simple Google check will even reveal to u that these are not new issues, they have been in d court of public opinion for over ten years and those who should know know. And what is tribal here? Am an Edo man, Aig Imoukhuede is an Edo man, does that mean I should now lie to cover up where he did wrong? Some of us are not wired to be primordial |
thesicilian:That's it. No one really is a superstar. Most of these people became what they are by subverting and cheating d system cos they had someone to help them crack their palm kernel. And in d course of doing what they do, so many people will lose out on their jobs, investments and even their lives, all sacrificed so that Aig and Herbert can become d mega stars they became. Just think of Erastus Akingbola, he was a benefactor to Herbert and Aig but they screwed him, its a miracle he didn't develope a stroke and he is still alive |
*ANOTHER ANGLE OF ACCESS BANK STORY* (Copied from another WhatsApp Forum): "May Herbert's soul rest in peace. I however look at the story of Access Bank from another prism based on my inside knowledge of what happened. The story of Access Bank can't be complete without looking at it's foundation. The money to buy Access Bank didn't come from any investors but a loan of about N16B from Intercontinental Bank (IB) managed by Akingbola. It was Akingbola that gave them that break to buy Access. That money was never paid back. Sanusi (Aig's school mate at KC)as the CBN gov declared IB insolvent and put it up for sale. It was offered to Aig and Access Bank for N50b. A bank that was many times the size of Access bank. A bank with 350 branches offered for such ridiculous sum. Check the records, no other bank has been so cheaply sold in Nigeria. Access Bank didn't have the money but Evelyn Oputu of BOI who is Aig's mother in-law gave them the loan to buy IB. They paid the funds, took over the bank and then refunded the loan the next day. It was the biggest scam in Nigeria banking history. Of course the N16B loan was never repaid. I want to be clear that this is not talking evil of the dead but setting the records straight. I do not hold the Access scam against Herbert personally but I can't keep quiet when records are being misrepresented. Akingbola was literally destroyed. But all said and done, to what purpose is our rat race and wealth acquisition. May the souls of Herbert, his family and others in this accident rest in peace." |
WorldRichest:When I remember the injustice done to Erastus Akingbola, how Aig and Herbert who owed his bank were made to fraudulently buy his bank, i just shake my head. I hope Erastus is still healthy, he may not get his bank back but he will stand vindicated some day. Cos what they did to himm was enough to kill him |
scally11:The people advising u that it's tough abroad and they regret their decision are not coming back cos they have nothing to come back to. How do they come back when they sold their cars, all their lands and some sold their house? To come back is to again start afresh d third time. They are advising u but u don't want to hear. U think it's cos they don't want u to live a good life, no. It's like joining a cult u think it's easy to just get out? Abroad is good for some class of people, if u are single below 30, if u get a scholarship for school or u get a job ready for u and a direct visa sponsorship from an employer (not carer job oh, real professional job). Anything outside that, be ready for d shock of your life, ur relations and friends u went to meet there will gradually isolate u if not immediately. My friend will say "abroad na cult, we don't tell u d dirty secrets until u have come and experience it yourself and u can not easily go back". Be wise |
chokekachy:Can this stand on appeal? What of agencies like FRSC that are also empowered to impose fines in their code. Are we saying all agencies must first go to court and obtain conviction before fines can be imposed? I have serious doubt cos even d CBN also impose fines on d banks she supervises without first obtaining court judgement |
Kcfresh2103:Thanks, this is d correct list. I wonder who trained many of these journalists, they just write stuff that comes from d way their small minds work. This was d real cabal, neither Emiefele not Amaechi not even Aisha wielded any real power. Isa Funtua was in d list before his death, so was Abba Kyari |
seborrhic:How much do u earn to expect to save £1,000 per month? Most of these carer jobs don't pay £2,000 and after income tax u have less than £1,600. U know how much is rent? £700 in d least for a tiny apartment. Light bills? Gas?, Council tax? Transport? Feeding? How d hell can such a person save anything? Don't be deceived, if u wanna relocate, make sure u are still young and single cos it would take u do many years to break even. Yes there are exceptions but very few |
HonNL:This attempt by leftist democrats in Colorado is so dump. Personally I think Trump is unqualified to run for president but why not first get him tried and convicted for d insurrection? There is a case before d DC court in that regard. Without first having a trial where Trump is a defendant and he has d chance to defend himself and then finding him guilty, he can't be said to had engaged in insurrection. Why did it have to take d authorities 3 whole years to commence trial? Seems not only African countries are shothole, d US system is also a shithole |
God1000:What actually makes Iran a regional power? Have they successfully prosecuted any war in the last 20 years? The US killed Soleimani, besides boasting, what could Iran do? Nothing. Don't overate these guys abeg |
Aboks:He ruled for only a little over two years so we may not be able to judge him fairly. Remember also he was so lucky that he was handed d biggest reserves and excess crude account in d history of Nigeria by d outgoing OBJ administration. He didn't have to take any difficult decision before he left. It's in taking a difficult decision that a great leader is known |
President Tinubu was supported by millions of Nigerians for different reasons. A large majority of them was for his credentials as a champion of true/fiscal federalism and multi level policing. All through his political life, he has given many speeches in support of these core values. During his visit to Chattam house London in d heat of the campaign, then Gov El Rufai who he asked to speak on security stated clearly that Tinubu would initiate an era of state policing. When Tinubu ascended d presidency, he told Nigerians that he would soon drastically change our security architecture. He swiftly changed d service chiefs. Many of us commended the change especially as a man from southern Kaduna was made Chief of Defense Staff. Unfortunately since then, nothing has been done regarding the security architecture. Insecurity that had improved has reared up it's ugly head again. The killings on Christmas Eve in d Plateau and those in d north in the last few weeks have now showed us that the problem is far beyond the people appointed to serve as security chiefs. PBAT has already done 7 months and it's time to take off the gloves and call on him to implement what he promised. APC in it's 2015 manifesto listed state police as it's first item but Buhari did not believe in it and so refused to implement it. El Rufai Committee produced in my opinion the best document for restructuring in recent history, and it recommended state police but Buhari refused to implement. During a live programe Journalist Hangout on TVC, then VP Osinbajo in a phone in clearly said he supports state police. But Buhari refused it. Buhari at an interview said states don't have enough resources to fund state police hence he was hesitant. He preferred sending condolence messages to the families of the bereaved which he did constantly for eight years. Under Tinubu, allocations to states and local govt have almost doubled. Does he like Buhari also believe states don't have the money to find it? Is Tinubu concerned that the governors may abuse it like they are abusing SIEC? Is there not a way that state police can be configured such that state governors dont have absolute control, perhaps like setting up a federal agency like the NJC who alone would handle promotions, suspension and removal of state police commissioners? Or can't there be a state council made up of the governor, all serving senators, all past governors who shall exercise powers to appoint or regulate the police in their states? Tinubu should know that the mistakes made by allowing Buhari have his way of complacency won't be repeated with him. He has done 7 months and he must implement what he campaigned with. He can't be embarking on condolence messages the way Buhari did. Things have changed, our people can't keep dying. It is therefore imperative for all genuine supporters of PBAT to demand from him to immediately upon resumption in the new year set up a joint executive/national assembly committee to work out modalities for constitutional amendment to allow state and local policing. Such committed should include his AG, NSA, rep of Nigeria Governors Forum, rep of LG Chairmen, reps of National Assemby, rep of Conference of Speakers of state assemblies, one former IG or DIG, human rights activists well versed in the law, constitutional lawyers, religious and traditional rulers. They should submit a report to him in 90 days after which he immediately drafts an executive bill to the NASS. If Tinubu does not work on multi level policing in 2024, he won't be able to do it afterwards cos election issues would begin to crop in. Let all PBAT supporters begin to pressure him that the time for changing our security architecture is now. We will not allow him to be sending Kasim Shettina on condolence visits the way PMB was sending Osinbajo. Any constitution amendment for devolution of powers must be started and concluded in 2024. Let's not allow PBAT to sink into the complacency trap. God bless PBAT, God bless Nigeria |
Bobloco:Learn to see things as they are, not as u want them to be. With all they said about BAT and his health, did d man still not assume office? In 7 months have d lying SR again published that he has been rushed tabroad to hospital? That tells u they were baiting clicks from an audience who were excited at such news hoping somehow BAT won't be sworn in and somehow their man who came third world be sworn in bypassing d man that was second. They are just like those fake pastors that lied and lied and deceived Obidients that d man won't be sworn in. In d end many Obidients crashed into depression, some have not recovered up till now even though they are still able to walk and comment on social media, just like d walking dead. When lies are blatant d way Sahara reporters does theirs, it may mean d publisher is actually a psychopath |
Sahara reporters now has a reputation for publishing blantant lies and they don't even apologize whenever their lies are debunked. Yes they are not under NBC as they are online and registered in d US but whoever hosts their website has a duty to punish them for whatever infraction they make. Sahara reporters manufactures interviews that never happened and then broadcasts it. If we are not careful they will incite Nigerians one day and burn down the country. The recent fake interview by Deziani is traceable to them. They have published many fake news of Tinubu collapsing and being rushed abroad in an ambulance just before he was sworn in. They manufactured lies upon lies on Jonathan. Seems they also engage in blackmail, they approach someone and tell d person if u don't pay, we publish dirt on u and they go ahead to do it even when it's a lie. Sahara reporters cannot keep lying and blackmailing Nigerians. Whoever hosts their site has a duty to stop hosting them as punishment when they publish the next fake news. Omoyele Sowore says he wants to be President of Nigeria. Imagine the way he runs Sahara reporters. Imagine if he gets hold of Nigeria. With the terrible situation we are already in, you now hand us to an unrepentant liar and blackmailer. God forbid. Sahara reporters should be cautioned pls |
orohbirodeysmel:Not correct to say the Catholic Church is not formidable in Edo. Yes d Binis have very few Catholic priests, perhaps that's why they don't have a Bishop but d Binis have strong numbers in Catholic. That was why there was an archdiocese in Benin long ago, almost same time Onitsha had theirs. Edo has three Catholic Diocese, d Esans and Etsako people are predominantly Catholics, in fact Esan have produced a Cardinal,an ArchBishop and a Bishop. In Benin, besides d host Binis, there is a huge Catholic population made up of Ibos and Esans. If u at to group d state along denominations, d Catholics outnumber any other single Christian denomination by far. My problem with Father Obinyan is that he is unsure of what he is actually doing, if at this time he has not identified d political party platform he is going to contest in, then it's too late and a dead end for him. Serious people are already going round party leaders in wards and LGs in preparation for primaries in less than two months |
gidgiddy:His people voted LP legislators enmass at d last elections. If they are serious let them initiate motions for referendum from state house of assembly level then build momentum to the NASS. Seems they don't actually want to exit Nigeria |
SharingIsLife:We are losing nothing. This man is a huge security risk. Or do u want him to use his radio like he used during EndSars where he urged on urchins to burn down Lagos? U want to sweep that tape under d carpet? What we should be asking for is a speedy trial so he gets like 25 years prison sentence. After like 17 years if he is well behaved, he can then get payrole that allows him spend d remaining 8 under house arrest |
Nazgul:Oga say what u know. Branch manager is a title, what matters is your grade. U can be an Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager or full Manager. On d average Assistant Managers in a top bank earns N1.1m net monthly. Full managers can earn N1.7m in d least. That's not adding leave allowance which can be 800k. Now to d person earning 23k pounds in d UK, that's less than 2k monthly. Rent alone is 800 pounds for a small apartment. Power utilities will consume 300 pounds. U have road tax for ur car which can be 200 pounds. U have vehicle insurance, driver's licence, council tax monthly, these are not small amounts at d end u don't have have 500 pounds as disposable income. And what will that buy in d UK economy? U are barely managing to survive. The least Nigerian manager takes home his N1.1m, his rent is per annum if he doesn't already have a house and even if it's in Lagos that he pays like N1m, that's about 100k per month. He has no other tax to pay cos PAYEE is taken net, his vehicle and insurance are tiny,d guy is a big boy by any standard. He has NHIS to cover health care for hiimself, wife and 4 kids max. Pls don't even compare as cost of living is far lower in Nigeria. Only problem is harassment and pressure at d work place which can be devastating. That's all, don't be deceived. Nigerian bankers earn well. I spent a long time in that industry |
PHIPEX:Any woman who needs people to let telling her that she is beautiful to feel good has self esteem issues and suspects that she is actually not beautiful. A real beautiful woman knows she is beautiful and doesn't need or beg others to tell her. Ndigbo, stop this mockery of yourselves |
Easternsun2020:Why do Igbos always need validation like this to feel good? This is inferiority complex, they should stop doing this. No other tribe seeks such validation to feel good in Nigeria besides Igbos, it's a major character flaw. Political power is d most important. How come those that they are better than have subjugated them politically and been ruling over them? The Ibo man lacks tact, am sorry to say. An Edo or Akwa Ibom man would be president before an Ibo man |
bigpicture001:U only visit branches and u only encounter mainly operations staff. Branch Operations staff are mainly outsourced especially those u see on d counters receiving and paying cash. Most of them are females. Same with customer services, many banks use females there. Mainly outsourced too. But go upstairs to the marketing floor where the Branch Manager is with his marketing team. Mostly male. Visit d regional teams where u have d IT staff, Internal Control Staff, Audit Staff, Ebanking Staff, Corporate Services Staff, etc, they are overwhelmingly male. Not to talk of Head Office where u have d big departments like Treasury, FinCon, Corp Banking, Int Ops, Risk Mgt, Legal etc, it's all male affair |
bigpicture001:Very wrong info. This is my industry and I have worked in so many banks. Males outnumber females in a ratio of 7:3 in many Nigerian banks. Maybe u are counting the tellers in d banking halls who just pay and receive money. Those are mainly outsourced contract staff. In most marketing teams u many not even find a single woman. Marketing is not about begging man to bring money, it's about convincing customers that u can help them push their transactions however complex they may be and men do that better than women. And d serious business men don't want Female relationship managers who would be attaching emotions to serious biz transactions, they prefer men who will treat their requests without beggi beggi sentiments hence most banks actually use men for the role of relationship managers. Female branch managers or regional managers are the exceptions not the rule |
officialwdhtv:What are people actually commenting about here? You just concoted something in your head and dropped a video of a man walking past a woman, is that d video of d cancelled wedding or what? A short clip from a movie scene, no words, nothing. Abeg stop inundating d public with lies and discouraging marriage, no indication that what u claimed ever happened |
ijustdey:Is there anyone who actually expected development from Sheriff? Delta just has a culture of voting anyone their darling PDP presents, that's all. Yet listening to phone in programs in Delta, u will never hear anyone criticize the state govt. They spend their past time bashing only d FG. Delta Govs are on cruise, no one pressures them to spend money wisely on development, it's party and grooving everyday for govt |
TradingGod:We all carry the burden and shame of black man fixation with superstition. U see a black kid who should be in school roaming d street like a mad man in d name of preaching gospel, to whom? As a fellow black man, it's our duty to tell our selves d truth, that kid should be in school, we already have too many preacher men everywhere. The competition is steep, d black kid is already disadvantaged, he has no biz in d streets |
jesusjnr2020:I knew he must be a black boy. What's d inspiration about him? Children of his age are in labs and computer rooms in China, d US and Japan working on the next innovation that would propel mankind, he is here preaching what exactly? What are priests and pastors in churches for? Pls tell him to go back to school and stop embarrassing d black race. We keep majoring in the minor |
Sadwaste:Men of gold don't need to wear gold. If u were rich u won't need to boast about it. U are a poor man, only poor people make d claims u making about feeding others. Go and do your hustling pls |
Aside the Rotimi Amaechi from Rivers State......is there any other Amaechi that I don't know? Because I don't understand the profile giving on Amaechi from the write-up.
If the Nigerian government knew how much we are losing to this Kanụ case, they would have just released him, granting him the referendum he seeks. What's difficult in doing this?
