PoliticsNec Decentralize Police Stations by odogwu9(op): 7:06am On Aug 17, 2018

The National Economic Council (NEC) yesterday resolved to decentralise police operations across the country to curb insecurity.
National Security Adviser (NSA) Babagana Monguno made the disclosure after a meeting presided over by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He told State House correspondents: “The council decided that a committee would be set up with representation from each of the geopolitical zones, chaired by the

Inspector-General of Police (IGP), so that we find ways of decentralising police operations, so that there will be greater access to information.

Handling this situation will be easier rather than a centralised and cumbersome approach.”

Those invited to make presentations included the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Gabriel Olonisakin; Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Abubakar Sadique; Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Abubakar; Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, and the Acting Director General of Department for State Services (DSS), Matthew Seiyefa.

Fielding questions on alleged lack of central security coordination and how it might have led to the recent police siege on the Benue State House of Assembly complex and the DSS invasion of the National Assembly, Monguno said: “It is not easy to coordinate.

Yes, all security agencies are supposed to be centrally coordinated but sometimes we have issues.

But these issues are being addressed right now and that is probably why we are beginning to see some improvements.”

Also, answering questions on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s probe of security funds in some states, Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State, said the matter “was discussed and the position is that we will have our lawyers see the legality of doing that.

After giving us the report, we will see the next line of action to take.”

Meanwhile, the police yesterday teargased a presidential aspirant, Omoyele Sowore and members of civil society organisations during a peaceful protest to demand the release of Premium Times reporter, Samuel Ogundipe.

The journalist was arrested Tuesday for writing a story based on a letter written to Osinbajo by the IGP.

The protesters, who arrived at the headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja as early as 9:00 a.m. were, however, barred by a human chain of officers.

There was commotion as the irritant sent some of the marchers scampering for safety.

The protesters included entertainer Charles Oputa, better known as Charly Boy, and human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju.

Rights watchdog, ActionAid Nigeria, also backed the immediate release of the reporter, describing his arrest as an attempt to undermine press freedom and the principles of democracy.

“Nigeria is not a police state; so journalists should not be persecuted for executing their responsibility of informing and educating the public.

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) allows citizens access to public records and information held by public officials or institutions,” the organisation said in a statement by Country Director Ene Obi.

But the police insisted Ogundipe has a case to answer.

“The Force is categorically stating that one Samuel Ogundipe is being investigated and prosecuted for the offences of theft and unlawful possession of restricted and classified documents inimical to state/national security that can jeopardise peace, breakdown of law and order capable of precipitating crisis in the country,” it said in a statement.

“Mr. Samuel Ogundipe is also being investigated and prosecuted under other offences which violate the Official Secret Act, Cyber Crime Act, and the Penal Code Law for which he has volunteered statements and is standing trial.

FamilyThis Story Of A Female Vulcanizer Who Works With Her Husband In Enugu Will Melt by odogwu9(op): 6:39am On Aug 17, 2018
Energetic Mrs. Chinelo Ogbonna comes to work at Mechanic Village, dons her work wear and sets out many types and sizes of vehicle tyres one atop the other in front of her husband’s vulcanizing workshop. She rushes at stopping vehicles, wheel spanner in one hand, ever ready to begin the loosening of a deflated tyre for repair. Her husband, a wiry fair youth, does not stand akimbo watching in front of his number 40, New Parts Section shop. He does not assume the pride of a man whose wife is at work with him. No, Mr. Ifeanyi Ogbonna is busy already working on a flat tyre, determined to patch it by fire, not with a cold sealant. He makes as if it is a common virtue in women, to behave like his wife. Don’t be fooled. He knows he has a unique wife, and he asks me to soften my wonder at this rare form of feminism, and to make-belief she were an ordinary apprentice, else it will get into her gait and slow the turn of work! But not me. I step out of my SUV, looking to quietly observe the whole drama, scratching my eyebrows in measured curiosity. I buy a fairly-used tyre and sit like other clients to await my turn for service, if only to catch this out-of-the-box situation. A big tyre rolls at her command of hand. She stops it beside the press. And I think the man of the shop will take over to excavate the wheel from the tyre. My eyes almost bulge to see her sit the large ring on the tyre flange and jump upon the big handle of the press to free the wheel. I want to remonstrate by reflex. But something stops me. It is her deftness, like one just tearing apart a paper. She does not care that men are watching. The reflexive but pretentious effeminacy that shows up in some ladies whenever they are in the presence of men, knows no place in her life. It is not that she is not well-endowed as to mesmerize the world if she wants. But she has packaged all the voluptuousness of her body into that work wear. The matter at hand is money. The money to feed her family of a hardworking husband and four children must be fought for. Yes, she has four children and she is still in the side of youth. But here she is, vulcanizing, for the good of the society. Her way of life is a decision she made herself. She is not forced by her husband. There are moments of disagreements between the two. But the quickness with which they settle their differences is beyond public comprehension. I go on in my mind about the standing values we peddle around and which of them affects us negatively or positively, until she calls my attention to tell me she is through… I reveal to them that they are news. I educate them how this is so. They consent to a public view such as this you see. It may bring more clients, who knows. Welcome, again, to Nigeria…. (c) Jeff Unaegbu, May 3, 2017. PoliticsOshiomhole Explains Saraki's Relationship With Offa Robbers (video) by odogwu9(op): 11:31pm On Aug 16, 2018
The National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole has explained that the Federal Government didn't link Senator Bukola Saraki and the governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed with the Offa Bank robbery incident.

Adams Oshiomhole

On his defection from the All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed corroborated the views of Senate President, Bukola Saraki that they left party following armed robbery accusations made against them.

It would be recalled that the arrested Offa robbers who killed over 30 people in dare-devil bank robbery operations, claimed to be political thugs of Saraki and Ahmed.

This again has attracted the response of Comrade Oshiomhole who explained that the Offa robbers indicted Saraki and Ahmed, and not necessarily the All Progressives Congress-led central government.

"Who linked senate president Bukola Saraki to armed robbery? Was it the Federal Government or arrested armed robbers? It is armed robbers who were arrested who alleged that the weapons with which they carried out their heinous crimes including the killings of about 35 people of Kwara State somewhere in Offa, that those weapons were procured for them by the senate president. They made these allegations according to the police reports which have been published everywhere," he said.

He also revealed that one of the robbers was spotted on Saraki's entourage while he paid a condolence visit to the Olofa of Offa as regards the ill-fated armed robbery attacks which claimed several lives.

Foreign AffairsHundreds Of US Newspapers Hit Back At Trump, Defend Free Press by odogwu9(op): 11:15pm On Aug 16, 2018
Hundreds Of US Newspapers Hit Back At Trump, Defend Free Press

United States newspapers, big and small, on Thursday hit back at Donald Trump’s attacks on the news media with a coordinated campaign of editorials, triggering a fresh tirade from the President on Twitter.

Leading the charge was The Boston Globe, which had called for the drive highlighting the importance of a free press, accompanied by the hashtag #EnemyOfNone.

More than 300 newspapers around the country joined the effort.

“Today in the United States we have a president who has created a mantra that members of the media who do not blatantly support the policies of the current US administration are the ‘enemy of the people,'” the Globe editorial said.

“This is one of the many lies that have been thrown out by this president, much like an old-time charlatan threw out ‘magic’ dust or water on a hopeful crowd,” it added in a piece entitled “Journalists are not the Enemy.”

The effort comes amid Trump’s persistent claims that mainstream media outlets that publish articles critical of him are churning out “fake news.”

The New York Times, a frequent target of Trump’s criticism, ran a seven-paragraph editorial under a giant headline with all capital letters that read “A FREE PRESS NEEDS YOU.”

“Insisting that truths you don’t like are ‘fake news’ is dangerous to the lifeblood of democracy. And calling journalists the ‘enemy of the people’ is dangerous, period,” the Times wrote.

Trump fired back on Twitter by repeating his contention that the “fake” news media is “the opposition party” and claiming the Boston Globe was “in collusion” against him with other media.

“There is nothing that I would want more for our Country than true FREEDOM OF THE PRESS,” he tweeted.

“The fact is that the Press is FREE to write and say anything it wants, but much of what it says is FAKE NEWS, pushing a political agenda or just plain trying to hurt people.”

The US Senate meanwhile countered the White House by unanimously passing a resolution citing the “indispensable role of the free press” and warning that efforts to undermine the media were “an attack on our democratic institutions.”

Other newspapers joining the campaign said Trump’s attacks diminish the importance of journalists in their communities.

“For more than two centuries.. the press has served as a check on power, informing the American people about corruption and greed, triumphs and tragedies, grave mistakes and misdeeds and even ineptitude and dysfunction,” wrote the Albuquerque Journal in New Mexico.

Iowa’s Des Moines Register said, “The true enemies of the people — and democracy — are those who try to suffocate truth by vilifying and demonizing the messenger.”

Cannot sit back
Free press advocates argue that Trump’s attacks imperil the constitutional First Amendment guarantee of freedom of the press.

“I don’t think the press can just sit back and take it, they need to make their case when the most powerful man in the world tries to undercut the First Amendment,” said Ken Paulson, a former editor-in-chief of USA Today who is dean of communications at Middle Tennessee State University.

But Paulson questioned whether editorials would be effective.

“The people who read editorials don’t need to be convinced,” he said. “They are not the ones trying to shout you down at presidential rallies.”

The campaign also faced the potential for galvanizing supporters of the president around the notion that the media is out to get him.

The San Francisco Chronicle said it would not join the effort because “it plays into Trump’s narrative that the media are aligned against him.”

But the newspaper said it would “continue to speak out against this president’s war on the free press,” doing it “in our own way, on our own timetable.”

Stakes too high
But media rights advocates say the stakes are too high to allow the president’s claims to go unchecked.

Some say Trump’s comments have incited threats against journalists covering his events, and may have created a climate of hostility that opened the door to violent attacks like a deadly one in June against the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland.

“Trump’s references to us as the ‘enemy of the American People’ are no less dangerous because they happen to be strategic,” the Kansas City Star wrote. “That is what Nazis called Jews. It’s how Joseph Stalin’s critics were marked for execution.”

Trump’s actions are also encouraging strongmen such as Vladimir Putin of Russia and Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Turkey to treat journalists like enemies, some newspapers said.

“The messages in today’s newspapers are best read not as a drift toward war footing, but rather as a reminder that journalism is important work,” wrote Pete Vernon in the Columbia Journalism Review.

CrimeFake Military Uniforms Recovered By Customs by odogwu9(op): 11:00pm On Aug 16, 2018
Men of the Nigeria Customs Service have made a seizure of another container load of fake camouflage in Rivers state, barely three weeks after another one was intercepted in the state.

The Assistant Comptroller General of Customs, Zone C, Port Harcourt, Sanusi Umar, disclosed this in a statement in statement in the state on Thursday.

Umar said about 620 sets of military uniforms and 10,100 military T-shirts were seized this time around by operatives of the Customs Area II Command Onne, in Eleme Local Government Area.

He said the prime suspect in the importation has been arrested and presently being interrogated.

He said: “We have gathered here today to once more brief you on the ongoing investigation on container number MRSU 3040298 containing military Camouflage Uniforms and Gears.

“After profiling the importer’s transactions, I am happy to inform you that we have arrested another container MRKU 4909151, (1×40ft) belonging to the same Company, Ehiogocho Nigerian Limited with Mr. Ongwatabo Jerry as the prime suspect.

“On examination, it was found to contain, 620 set of complete sewn military camouflage uniforms and caps, 10,100 pieces of inner Military T-shirts, 512 pairs of military jungles boats.

“The Mr. Ongwatabo Jerry is the sole importer that opens the Form M for the importation of these two containers. Let me inform Nigerians that importation of military wears by any individual or company is prohibited by Nigerian Law under the Customs and Excise Management Acts (CEMA).”

Meanwhile, the outgoing Comptroller of Area II, Abubakar Bashir commended the efforts of the officer and men on the command on the achievements recorded during his stay in the state.

He said “My stay here has been wonderful and relationship has been cordial in Rivers State. So, far, I gave myself six months and within the period we did a lot. We organized Oil and Gas Free zone stakeholder Forum and it has brought a few changes in the command.

“We have achieved enforcement on non-compliance. My challenges are enormous, the officers and operators have high handedness in handling and level of complains to instruction has been very difficult.

“This is why our seizures are low in recent times. Revenue generated within the period was so tremendous. The level of importation has reduced maybe because of the election.

Speaking, the incoming Comptroller, Saidu Galadima, has warned officers and men of the command against any act that would sabotage the war against anti-smuggling activities, adding that anyone caught would be published.

He said: “My major challenge is to measure up on the achievements of my predecessor. I will want to improve on what he has achieved.

“We will not have room to non-complaint traders; this will serve as deterrent to others to ensure that we achieve our mandate.”

PoliticsIbrahim Bunu Tells The Truth To Authority by odogwu9(op): 10:15am On Aug 04, 2018
IBRAHIM BUNU TELLS THE TRUTH TO AUTHORITY!

Do you think you have seen Nigeria at her worse economic meltdown or seen the worse killings and religious wars yet? Well if you think so then just wait until our very dear PMB wins the 2019 presidential election then you'll know better...
In the meantime, please ignore your hatred for reading and read this to the end because it is a wake-up call to all of us who wants things to get better in Nigeria.

WHY ARE WE BLAMING BUHARI AND NOT OURSELVES!

Written by IBRAHIM BUNU.

In 2015, we changed a govt under which human beings and businesses fared well. The South watched as the Northern oligarchy, with the help of Lagos media, demonised the govt of the day, manipulated the electoral process to install a radical Islamist and we said nothing.

1. He appointed our Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Air Staff from his tribe/religion, we said nothing.

2. He appointed our National Security Adviser from his tribe/religion,we said nothing.

3. He followed it up with appointment of DG DSS from his village/ religion, we clapped for him.

4. He appointed Chairman EFCC from his tribe/religion; we kept quiet.

5. He appointed IGP from his religion and we said nothing.

6. He appointed Minister of Defence from his tribe and religion, we said nothing.

7. He appointed Minister of Interior from his tribe/religion, and we clapped for him.

8. He appointed CG Immigration from his tribe and religion, we were the more quiet.

9. He appointed CG Civil Defence from his own religion and region, we said nothing.

10. He appointed CG Prisons from his own tribe and religion and we hailed him.

11. He appointed DG NIA from his village, tribe and religion and we said it is his prerogative as President.

12. He appointed Chief of Defence Intelligence from his tribe and religion; we were the more quiet.

13. He appointed his kinsman, same religion, tribe and region the INEC Chairman, just to ensure he declares him winner even if he loses, and we equally said nothing!

14. He appointed the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice from his tribe and religion, we said nothing too!

15. A man is elected President and he concentrated the appointments of heads of entire security agencies in the country in one religion and region and you didn't notice it was in furtherance of an agenda?

16. Why is he so interested in having all the security heads from his religion and region?

17. Generals Obasanjo and T.Y. Danjuma, President Buhari's major supporters, have come out publicly to speak on their fears for Nigeria. The elders know Nigeria is sliding into great danger. Any moment from now, like they called Chief Obasanjo names; they will call Gen. Danjuma too.
They might tell you it's because PMB has stopped corruption that the General is angry and crying. They won't tell you that General Danjuma is a very rich Nigerian already that do not need anything from govt appointees.

18. Once President Buhari returned from London, after his last discharge from hospital, at the peak of IPOB agitation, he made a national broadcast and launched "Operation Python Dance" to deal with IPOB. His Attorney General applied to court to declare IPOB a terror group and proscribe it. IPOB never killed a single Nigerian to our knowledge.

19. Uptill this day, the President has not made any broadcast on fulani herdsmen and their militant wing, that have killed and pillaged Nigerians in their thousands. Their leaders come out to take responsibility for such killings and they are still walking free. No arrest. No prosecution. It is an agenda.

20. Who do we now blame? We were warned but we didn't heed the warnings. We needed change so badly and anything but Jonathan was fine.

21. Chief Femi Falana, Pastor Bakare and other rights advocates, you have let Nigerians down. You spoke so vehemently against GEJ but kept quiet in the face of tyranny, injustice and killing of Nigerians under PMB. God will request the blood of the Nigerians who have died in the hands of the emboldened herdsmen,at your hands.
As General Danjuma said, we are in real danger in Nigeria. Silence is no longer golden!

IBRAHIM BUNU.
Northern Integrity.

2019 is fast approaching, a chance we'll have to correct our mistakes and right our wrongs and to salvage what we have left, so please.... Kindly swallow your pride for the sake of humanity and share this message after reading it so that other people can read same and together we can make amends.

HealthWhy Fast? What’s It All About? -weight Loss Article by odogwu9(op): 9:55am On Jun 21, 2018
Fasting retrains your body to become fat adapted. This means you burn stored body fat for energy, rather than being dependent on sugars from food. This is empowering because you become completely self-sufficient. Not only will you lose weight, you will be FULL of energy all day long, no longer reaching for caffeine or nicotine or sugar to get you through the day.

Recent studies have shown that intermittent fasting has some amazing benefits:

It resets the body to burn fat for energy rather than sugar, which has been shown to dramatically decrease the risk of chronic disease.
Increases insulin sensitivity, which can help combat type 2 diabetes and metabolic disease
Your hunger hormones stabilise, which means you feel LESS hungry! Giving you control back over your body and impulses.
You switch on your bodies innate cleansing and healing properties known as a process called Autophagy, this has been shown to boost the immune system.

Here’s The Technical Bit
When you extend periods of non-eating some amazing things happen:

Growth Hormone (GH) increases which not only preserves muscle mass but can actually help cause growth in muscle, bone density, and cartilage. An increase in GH effects adipose tissue (Fat) by breaking stored body fat into fatty acids which can be used for energy throughout the body; in fact, they are worth more than carbohydrates (this explains the stable energy levels).
Norepinephrine increases which has been shown to have an effect on the mind as well as the body. High Norepinephrine levels have been shown to increase mental alertness, and boost the metabolism of fat. Conversely, scientists now think that low levels can cause depression.
Insulin Sensitivity increases. Short term this can benefit you by directing carbs to your muscles for muscle gains, rather than being converted to fat. Conversely being insulin insensitive long term can lead to Type 2 diabetes, Alzheimer’s and heart disease.
Ghrelin (“the hunger hormone”) levels are normalised.
Cortisol levels are at their highest in the mornings, eating with raised cortisol levels have been shown to increase post-meal hunger and increase insulin resistance (This is why people find it much easier to control cravings when using IF.)
As well as these processes going on in the body fasting has been shown to:

Increases gene and cell repair
Increase longevity
Reset the body to burn fat for energy (ketosis) rather than sugar, which has been shown to dramatically decrease the risk of chronic disease.
Lowering triglyceride levels and improving other biomarkers of disease
Reduce oxidative stress
Being insulin sensitive boosts mitochondrial energy efficiency (all cells are more efficient at using energy)
Reduces cancer risk. There is also evidence to suggest fasting can decrease the effects of chemotherapy.v
Improves cardiovascular health
Reduces Alzheimer’s risk

Fat Burning Machine
Our bodies are naturally fat burning machines, but because of clever marketing and an abundance of ‘food like products’, we have become dependent on sugar to supply us with energy. Every time we have that mid-morning snack we create a blood sugar spike, which causes the hormone insulin to be released. Excess insulin not only causes us to put on fat, but it actually stops us from burning the fat we already have. Long term this can lead to type 2 diabetes, obesity, Alzheimer’s and heart disease.

Eating ‘little and often’ or ‘grazing’ has become the social norm with the myth that it keeps the metabolism ring. Unfortunately, we are encouraged to snack in between meals by companies who create ‘food like products’ which are cheap, nutrient sparse, and highly processed. To achieve your fat loss goals, avoid these products.

You may feel that there is a lot of food on this meal plan, but what you are trying to achieve is to turn your body into a fat burning machine. This is called ketosis. It is important to fuel your body with nutrient-dense foods, especially when exercising.

Eating enough at meal times is crucial so you aren’t tempted to snack on poor quality food in-between meals. Digestion takes up a lot of energy and contributes to energy slumps throughout the day. Fasting will help stabilise blood sugar levels and force your body to draw on its own fat reserves for energy, rather than being dependent on a constant stream of food.

It will take time for your body to get used to this way of eating, and it may be difficult for some of you. But once your body goes into ketosis you will quickly reap the benefits of stable energy levels, feeling “real hunger” (every 12-24 hours), dropping body fat, and not being a slave to hunger.

Most importantly skipping breakfast or dinner does NOT slow down your metabolism, in fact, short-term fasting actually increases your metabolic rate by 3.6-14%, helping you burn even more calories.

PoliticsPresident Buhari To Share $322m Recovered Abacha Loot To Poor Nigerians by odogwu9(op): 5:18am On Jun 21, 2018
This was declared recently by the special assistant to President Buhari on justice reforms, Juliet Ibekaku-Nwagwu - She said that the funds would be paid directly into the accounts of the poorest Nigerians through their various accounts for two years The federal government is making final preparation to disburse $322 million fund repatriated from the accounts of former Head of State, late General Sani Abacha in Switzerland to Nigerians. Daily Trust reports that the the national coordinator of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), Nigeria and special assistant to the President on justice reforms, Juliet Ibekaku-Nwagwu disclosed this recently in an interactive session with newsmen. Read more: https://www.naija.ng/1176069-president-buhari-share-322m-recovered-abacha-loot-poor-nigerians.html#1176069

NAIJ.com gathered that Ibekeaku-Nwagwu said under MoU with Switzerland, the funds would be paid directly into the accounts of the poorest Nigerians through their various accounts for two years and identification numbers to be made available on the website being developed by the National Social Investment office and the World Bank. She solicited the patience of Nigerians, explaining that the agencies working on the modalities would brief the public on June 28, adding that the process for the payment will be transparent for civil society and the media to monitor. She said despite oppositions against the MoU from within and outside government, the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami (SAN) and his team have pursued President Muhammadu Buhari’s agenda of ensuring that the $322m was returned for deployment in the social safety nets project, which would make targeted transfers to the poor and vulnerable households.

The poorest members of the community will be registered online, and before you make any payment, they must have an ID number so that every payment would be tracked. No amount will be paid out without a joint signature between Nigeria and the World Bank and without identification of individuals”, she said. Ibekeaku-Nwagwu said President Buhari’s commitment to the Open Government Partnership during the London Summit in 2016 has enhanced transparency and accountability in government budgeting and contracting, adding that “If there is anything we have achieved its about getting Nigerian citizens to become conscious about what is happening with their money.”

PoliticsGod Will Remove Buhari - Obasanjo by odogwu9(op): 5:42am On Jun 19, 2018
2019: God Will Remove Buhari — Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday, in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, said the God who helped Nigeria to ease out the dreaded government of General Sani Abacha will come to the aid of Nigerians in 2019.

Speaking at a town hall meeting held at the Amusement Park, Agbowo, Ibadan, where the Coalition for Nigeria Movement (CNM) members converged, he urged youths and indeed all Nigerians not to be tired because they have a lot of work to do to effect change of government through the ballot.

In a veiled allusion, the present government, which he said insists on re-election, Obasanjo said: “Some people believe that those that are in position, whether they are doing well or not, they must continue be there. But when we say they must not only be there, they will want to fight back.

They will hold many things to wreak havoc, but everybody must be prepared. It will not be easy to wrest powers from them. If you think it will be easy to liberate Nigeria, you are deceiving yourself.
“But the God that did it yesterday will do it again today. Remember a particular leader who had a desire to transmit from military uniform to elected president.

“We had a situation that we had five political parties and the five parties nominated one person as candidate for presidency. If only his nuclear family had voted for him, he would have won.

“But our God is wonderful. God laughed. Now, God is laughing. When the time came, God revealed that He’s God. He is the omnipotent, omnipresent and eternal, who can do all things and who can make all things possible. But if we are leaving things to God, we have to do our own side,” he said.

On how to make real change in governance, Obasanjo said: “The work has started. Some people may be laughing at you and make jest of you, don’t be bothered with that. Listen, permanent voter’s cards (PVCs) are your instruments. If you have not collected yours, go and collect it.

If you are not yet registered, go and register. Let us tell them in all urban and rural areas that PVCs are what we will use. They are the key to open the doors.

“Don’t be afraid or be discouraged; they will try to intimidate you individually or collectively. For me, I don’t think there is anyone that can intimidate me. Let me remind you, I have gone through many things. I have been jailed without being given any opportunity of offence. Where is the person that jailed me?”

He said CNM can only achieve its objectives by transforming, and being part of whatever it is as a political party. “I just want to join in assuring you that the philosophy of what we have is CNM, and what it will transform to will not be different.
“We have not had a political party in this country that is grounded in the grassroots. All our political parties are elitist. We have not got a party in this country that has given a pride of place to the youth.

“The youths under 40 years old form more than 65 per cent of our population. Now, who will tell you that because you are under 40 years old, you cannot play a very significant role in the affairs of your country?

“I was Head of State when I was under 40. Now, France has elected a president that is under 40 years old. Botswana has just got a Vice President that is 32 years old.

Now, what we are saying is that the youth must be given a pride of place. In all organs of CNM as a movement or a party that it will transform into, 30 per cent will be youths, and 30 per cent will be women. Women form 52 per cent of our population.

“I want to repeat what I have always said and don’t get me wrong; once this movement becomes a political party, I will no longer be a member of that party. But my concerns for Nigeria will not diminish. My struggle for the good of Nigeria progress of Nigeria, unity of Nigeria, development of Nigeria will not diminish.

Even now, I get people from other parties, coming to me to seek advice. I don’t belong to them. I don’t have anything to do with them, but I give them advice. So, that situation will continue. I will continue to look for the good of Nigeria wherever I am and whenever.

“The CNM, even when it becomes a political party, or it joins others, it cannot do it alone. There would have to be a grand alliance. But let me assure you of one thing, having got this far, I will not leave you high and dry, and I know God will continue to be with us. But don’t ever think that it will be easy. Men of valour don’t run away from challenges and it is the same thing with women of honour, except lazy men and women. But they said our youths are lazy.

“Recently, I was in the United States and I said our youths have gone through many things on the Sahara, in Libya and Mediterranean, and somebody would say they are lazy; their great great grandfathers would never try to go that far.

“The opportunities and facilities that people like us enjoyed, including those that said it should not be like that, if we give these youths half of what we enjoyed, they will perform miracles. Education is the best gift that a nation can give to its youths.

It is the best gift and preparation for life.
Are we doing enough of that?”

SportsLekki Bro's Super Eagles Patriotism by odogwu9(op): 11:01am On Jun 18, 2018
Italy did not qualify for World Cup

Holland did not qualify for World Cup

Scotland did not qualify for World Cup

Wales that played in Semi finals Euro 2016 did not qualify for World Cup

South Africa, Ghana & Ivory Coast all did not qualify.

Nobody ever predicted Iceland will hold Argentina to draw.

Nobody thought Lionel Messi will not dazzle yesterday. A day after C.Ronaldo outstanding outing.

This is football. It is like cabin biscuits. It breaks from any angle you hold.

While you chose to lash out on Super Eagles & call them all kinds of unprintable names for the poor outing yesterday, I CHOSE TO STAND WITH THEM till the end.

None of those players walked onto that pitch yesterday with intention to play to lose.

I raise the Green White Green for them before the match, I am not gonna tear the flag after match.

My Patriotism doesn’t lie only when my team does well. It means, standing with my team thru thick & thin..........

You may be angry & feel disappointed, but not to insult the players like I have read so far on Social Media. It’s depressing for them because they see it too.#lekkibro
HealthHealth Benefits Of Charcoal by odogwu9(op): 10:46am On Jun 18, 2018
BENEFITS OF CHARCOAL.

Charcoal is one of the most disregarded products at home. We only see the need for it when it is time to set fire for Banku.
However, if you really need first aid, charcoal is something you need to have on you all the time. You might not know this but it is one of the most medicinal products you can have at home due to its poison extraction ability.
In case you never gave it much attention, this is the time to do so. Here are 13 benefits of charcoal you never thought about.

1. Preventing_Odour*.
Does your shoe smell bad? Just get some charcoal & put it in them. Do you have any bad smell in your room? Drop some charcoal where you suspect the smell could be coming from. Does your fridge or freezer smell? Put a piece of charcoal in it. Do you have strong body odour? Just make a powder out of charcoal & use.
Charcoal is very good at getting rid of bad smell. Ever wondered why your parents always scooped out the ash from the coal pot to pour in the hen coop or toilet before sweeping? That was to get rid of the odour.

2. Keeping_Food_Fresh*.
If you want your vegetables to be fresh all the time, just make a solution out of charcoal & leave your vegetables in them. Thank us later.

3. Removing_Toxins_From_Food*.
These days, people complain about the use of fertilizers on plants & vegetables, making them unwholesome & poisonous. If you have charcoal, you don’t need to worry about this. All you need to do is leave the vegetables in a charcoal solution overnight & it’ll take care of the toxins. If you suspect any food contains too many chemicals, just drop them in a charcoal solution for some hours & you’re good to go.

4. For_Teeth_Whitening*.
If you want to whiten your teeth, pay no attention to all these adverts on whitening chemicals & technology. Just get yourself some charcoal & grab hold of a plantain stalk. Make a powder out of the charcoal, mash the tip of the plantain stalk, dip it into the charcoal powder & brush your teeth with it for a week.

5. Restoring_Soup_That_Went_Bad*.
Did your groundnut soup or palm nut soup go bad? No need to worry about pouring it all away. Just put it back on fire & drop a piece of charcoal in it. This will extract all the bad taste & smell & restore the soup to its fresh state.

7. Neutralizing_Alcohol*.
If you mistakenly did some wild mixing & feel it can knock you out, just add some charcoal to the mixture & your problem is solved.

8. Healing_Wounds*.
Do you have a situation where someone’s wound has become so infected to the state doctors are saying they have to cut the affected area? Don’t stress over it, get a large amount of charcoal powder & pour it on the wound. This will extract all the poison from the wound & also help it heal faster. If you have a cut & you want to treat it fast, just get some powdered charcoal & pour on it.

9. Water_Filtration*.
Do you feel your water is contaminated? You don’t need all these products on the market. Charcoal can do better, just drop some amount of it in it. Don’t worry about the colour, it is safe, you can even chew on charcoal. It is far safer than eating chicken from KFC.

10. Skin_Cleansing*.
Do you have pimples, acne or any skin disease you really want to get rid of or do you want a very smooth face or skin? All you need is charcoal. Make a thick solution out of it & smear it on your body & leave it on for some hours before taking your bath. It will leave your skin smooth & fresh.

11. Stain_Removal*.
Do you have some stubborn stain in your kitchen, washroom or on your tiles? You actually need charcoal to get rid of it. I know you’re imagining how this black stainy product can actually remove stains right? Just try it, it works like magic.

FamilyForce Feeding Your Baby Is Wrong... by odogwu9(op): 10:05am On Jun 17, 2018
By Dr Oyebade Jerry

FORCE FEEDING YOUR BABY IS COMPLETELY WRONG!

And don’t start telling me your ancestors did it and “nothing happened”!

Who told you nothing happened?

With that kind, something will most likely happen! However, when things happen, people don’t attribute it to the force feeding!

1: Force feeding affects the baby psychologically.

And it will manifest in the future as a mental health issue like lack of confidence, low self-esteem, low intelligence (and poor academic performance), bad relationship with food (causing craving junk foods, or over-eating or hate eating, etc) and so on. But, people won’t know force-feeding was the root cause!

2: Force feeding causes a wide range of infections.

Due to poor hygiene, aspiration, and food going to the wrong places, infections usually sets in; yet most mothers will not know it’s caused by force feeding! Diarrhea, vomiting, cough, catarrh, fever, eye pain (and redness), etc. are some symptoms the poor baby may develop.

3: Force feeding traumatizes and kills!

I have seen broken leg bones from the way the mother squeezed the baby’s legs in-between her laps. I have seen babies die from suffocation.

See, I can go on and on…

But, this post is getting too long!

WHAT’S THE WAY OUT?

Every normal, healthy baby have good appetite — and will eat. Stop calling your kids “stubborn”!

The child is not stubborn. If a child refuses to it, there’s a reason.

The child is:

1) Not hungry

2) Doesn’t like the food.

3) Is sick (and has low appetite).

4) Doesn’t like the way you feed him/her.

Find the cause. Fix it. Or see your doctor to help you find and fix the problem.

Babies like and need sweet and delicious foods. Do you know how sweet breast milk is? Why will you give pap without sugar and milk?

You can use a new, big injection syringe (without the needle) to feed your child. Or a clean teaspoon and small cup. Your hand is dirty!

This is child abuse!

YOU KNOW THE RIGHT THING; NOW, GO DO IT!

SHARE!

CANCER IS NOT DEADLY

*Dr. Gupta says, No one must die of cancer except out of carelessness; (1). First step is to stop all sugar intake, without sugar in your body, cancer cell would die a natural death. (2). Second step is to blend a whole lemon fruit with a cup of hot water and drink it for about 1-3 months first thing before food and cancer would disappear, research by Maryland College of Medicine says, it's 1000 times better than chemotherapy. (3). Third step is to drink 3 spoonfuls of organic coconut oil, morning and night and cancer would disappear, you can choose any of the two therapies after avoiding sugar. Ignorance is no excuse; It's good to help share this information . Let everyone around you know, it's a sacrilege for anyone this day to die of cancer; God bless. Forwarded as received.*

PoliticsEkiti Assembly Suspends Lawmaker For ‘sleeping Too Much’ by odogwu9(op): 3:10am On Jun 15, 2018
The Ekiti State House of Assembly has suspended a member, Sunday Akinniyi, for “sleeping too much” during legislative sessions.

The Assembly slammed an indefinite suspension on the member representing Ikere Constituency II for allegedly sleeping at plenary in the last three years.

The lawmakers also accused Akinniyi of “breeding terrorism within the institution of the Assembly, violence towards the Mace in a properly constituted plenary session and belligerent attitude and acts of bellicosity against his colleagues”.

He was also accused of pugnacious behaviours in his constituency against his people, all amounting to gross misconduct unbecoming of any honourable member of this Assembly.

The Assembly further accused Akinniyi of being “regularly regular in absenting himself, especially when issues relating to his constituency are slated for discussion”.

A source at the Assembly told The Nation yesterday that the suspension was meant to pre-empt a plan by Akinniyi and two other lawmakers to announce their defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Akinniyi, who has fallen out with Governor Ayo Fayose, was removed as the Chief Whip on May 24 for his alleged disloyalty to the governor and other un-parliamentary activities.

He was axed for his alleged loyalty to a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, who has since defected to the APC.

Akinniyi was removed alongside a former Deputy Speaker, Mr. Olusegun Adewumi.

( 2,) HOW TO GET RID OF COCKROACHES

Cockroaches are disgusting insects or better said pests that thrive in houses, particularly in dark and warm places. These pests carry dangerous diseases.
There are many different ways in which you can get rid of the cockroaches, but most of the products specially created to destroy these pests are loaded with poisonous chemicals. These chemicals are dangerous for your and the health of your children, as well.
Below is presented a natural mixture that is completely harmless for your family and pets, but is extremely efficient and will kill the cockroaches instantly.
All you need is: 1 onion and 1 teaspoon of baking soda.

Preparation: first chop the onion and then add the baking soda. Place the resulted mixture in the corners of your house, in the kitchen and in the bathroom.
Very soon you will notice dead cockroaches on these places. Repeat this process every day and you will get rid of these disgusting pests – forever!

NOTE:
Baking soda is different from baking powder
Can a cockroach hurt you?
While they do not bite or sting they do feed and live in areas that harbor dangerous bacteria, such as bathrooms, drains, and dumpsters. The American cockroach (like other roaches) carries the bacteria on their body and can contaminate food as well as areas where food is prepared.

RomanceRe: Women Cannot Handle Rejection At All: My Experience by odogwu9(m): 6:18am On Jun 14, 2018
daviesblaze:
I recently ended a thing with a lady and damn she didn’t take it well.

She was annoying, but I told her I was simply too busy with work and other things and she was pushing for something more serious.Truth was, i easily grow bored whenever a relationship stretches for more than a month

After I told her I had no intention of getting serious, out came the shaming tactics “You’re not a real man are you” “You’re just a fuckboy” “Don't let your look deceive you. you can't get anyone better than me” “Maybe I should send a guy friend to Bleep you up” “You wasted 2 months of my life” "you took advantage of me because i was vulnerable"

Now the whole time she’s saying all this, I kept thinking of the phrase women use to shame and shut down men who get aggressive over being rejected, “you’re not entitled to anybody’s love or affection”

So I decided to use it. I said “you’re not entitled to anyone’s love or affection” And she hit the roof telling me, “I can Bleep any guy I want, I can have a new guy every day if I wanted”

I gotta admit, it felt pretty damn good to use that on a chick.

Well sweetheart, why are you wasting time arguing with me? Go do that then!!

Typical woman. Feels entitled to my time but if I was being billy beta and getting Aggro about her not committing I’d get told I’m not entitled to her love and affection
You are an absolute fuckboy she is right.,do you expect us to start clapping for you,,u bored after a month dating a woman.,u shouldn't date at all.,just be by ursef and stop stirring up resentment and friction. .

FamilyWild Girls My Foot By Winifred Iheoma by odogwu9(op): 7:40pm On Jun 13, 2018
Couple of years ago, I hung out at a lounge with a male friend and his own friends who I casually knew.

One of his friends (I'll call him Zero) started talking about women and not just women but the kind of women he liked.

Zero: I like them cool and bold o. When I see a babe with tattoos, wearing bum shorts and cutting alcohol, I get so excited. Sincerely I love chicks who smoke weed and know how to have fun. They're never boring. That's my ideal woman. People call them wild but I call them free spirits.

Now Zero had a babe sitting beside him. She was wearing jeans, a polo shirt and was drinking Snapps. She was the girl-next-door type.

Zero looked at her, nudged her with his shoulder then started talking to her.

Zero: Baby Sebi I've told you to loosen up. You are too rigid. Drink vodka with us, you said no. You are drinking juice.

My friend: Abeg leave her. She's a good girl.

Zero: Who her good girl hepp? Abeg babe change o. Stop this boring attitude. It's not cool jor. I like them bold.

I got so irritated my vodka nearly went down the wrong pipe.

Me: Bros, you like them wild. You like free spirits. Don't you know where to find free spirits? Don't you know where the wild ones are kept? Why do you want to change this babe from who she is to what you want?

Zero: Sometimes change is good for a person. It's for her own good. Men don't like boring women.

Now I was mad. I dropped my drink and faced him properly.

Me: Oga, go and advise your sisters, if you have any, to be wild and free. Do you think we don't also want free spirited men? Bros goan get a tattoo. Smoke weed. Drink weed. Chew anything. Stop trying to make her what she clearly doesn't want to be. You know thr kind of woman you're looking for. You can find them at Casablanca. Go there and pick one. She isn't that type.

Zero's face changed instantly as he realized I was on the aggressive.

My yeye friend realised I was upset and Zero was also upset so he nudged me with his foot. Omo, I stomped on his own foot. You dey mad!

I now turned to face the babe.

Me: Babygirl, ignore him and his talks of free spirit. If he wants a free spirit then he can go to Mountain of Fire and get all those spirits that have been removed from possessed people. Don't ever change who you are for anyone. If you want to change then do it for yourself. Simple. You're a grown ass woman. If you didn't become a wild girl since, it's not now that anyone would make you change. And don't settle for someone who wants to change you. You deserve better.

The silence at our table could have been cut with a knife. We drank in silence until I got up to leave as my curfew was almost up. The babe asked me for my number, which I gave to her then I also took hers.

Few days later she sent me a chat screenshot via whatsapp. She had told Zero that she wasn't interested in dating him anymore. The guy resorted to insulting me and also insulted her. I laughed. At least, I passed my message across to her and to the idiot.

This morning I just saw photos of Zero's wedding. I had to check his wife out. Not surprisingly, she is NOT a wild babe. No tattoos, only skirts and dresses, minimal makeup, brown or black hair and a sweet smile. Infact she looks like a librarian (the British type).

Never settle for a man who wants to change you to something you deem as bad or not worthwhile. If he's changing you for the better then that's great. Ultimately, ensure you love who you are...Winifred Iheoma
SportsPreviews And Betting Tips For Croatia Vs Nigeria by odogwu9(op): 2:00pm On Jun 13, 2018
Nigeria look set to pick 19-year-old Francis Uzoho in goal for their World Cup campaign.
Wilfred Ndidi has overcome injury in time and will be fine to start for the Super Eagles.
Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed Musa may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Croatia have a wealth of riches in midfield, meaning Mateo Kovacic and Milan Badelj will have to settle for a place on the bench.

There have been under 2.5 goals scored in 9 of Croatia's last 10 games (FIFA World Cup).

Prediction

Croatia are favourites to finish in the top two positions in Group D. Zlatko Dalic's side, however, have only won two of their last five matches.
Nigeria have prepared poorly for the World Cup, losing both of their warm-up matches. They are winless in four games.
Croatia should have enough to overcome the Super Eagles and get their World Cup campaign off on the right note.

Prediction: Croatia 2
Nigeria 0
