PoliticsRe: Straw Poll: 93% Of Participants Prefer Osinbajo To Sambo Ahead Of 2015 Election by oduastates: 9:38pm On Jan 04, 2015
Nigerian are fundamentally foolish. I have learnt over the years to go against the tide or their flow. Whether it is electing the class captain or student union president. I have learnt that voting for the underdog or voting against the flow is the only way to avoid disappointment.
Look at the stupid reasons they are giving?
He is a pastor
He is not a politician
He should not be in politics
He is not a vote winner.

What about competence, administrative skill, knowing how government work and how it should work, having the right temperament, understanding the country.
How about just being a decent human being?

Sambo came to lagos last week. The moment he opened his mouth exposed him to ridicule.
Dumb folks everywhere.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria: Dancing On The Precipice by oduastates:
First of all, the Niger delta is not only Ijaw. Secondly the amnesty program has been an all Ijaw affair. They can only disrupt the oil industry. The SS elites are too corrupt to wage or win a prolonged war. Fourthly, any attack of on the yoruba homeland under a war situation, will be lead to a state of total war.Do not forget that there are 5 coastal tribes within the yoruba family and numerous inland river tribes (Niger, ose, osun etc).
Can any omoluabi remember how they were trying to create a religious crisis out of osun state schoolconsolidation program. Tunde kelani had to release a play to put people on alert.
For every ethnic nation, there are good and there are bad people. Obasanjo seems to have a knack for finding the bad ones.
If any group wants to leave Nigeria, go about it through peaceful agitation and diplomacy. The UN is there for that. But do not try to set the other man's house on fire just because you want to leave via the back door.

You are right, but we need some thing to push the economy forward so that those things u mentioned can tap both financial and raw material from it.
What about getting creative and importing the diamonds , clean them ,cut them , create jewellery and export to the international market.
There are thousands of blacksmiths, artists and other experts of the crafts in osun, ibadan,Ilorin, Benin etc

There is large deposit of gold reserve, Diamond field, purest iron ore deposit in African in itakpe and largest deposit in Zamfara, so many untap mineral and human resources which can give us double of what we re making today from crude oil. Yet our useless government from day one till date are so myopic, they only want is to steal, steal and loot. What a shame!!!!
There is no future in the extractive industry. As soon as you start mining gold , these thieves and thieving leaders will move in.
1The creative industries .
2 The agricultural value chain - planting ,harvesting ,packaging, transportation and sales
3 e- commerce
4 taxation ( making taxable adult file annual tax returns will employ thousands of accountants, )
5 ban Street trading apart from designated areas so that those who are trading legally, pay taxes, rent shops and stall actually reap the benefit of their investments.
PoliticsRe: Oil Price Crash: Mass Sacking Looms In Private, Public Sectors by oduastates:
The reason for the looming sack is mismanagement , bad and corrupt leadership .not oil crash.
If jonathan had kept up with obj's savings rate, nigeria would have had close to £150 billion dollars in reserve funds ,to cushion the fall.

If anyone had read this article by Matt taibbi in 2010, they would have seen the crash coming.

Many of us spend donkey hour jacking pastor Chris book but rarely spend time understanding the world around us.
I can vividly remember warning online about all the unnecessary recruitments in virtually every dysfunctional federal ministry, just for recruitments sakes.
Obasanjo had gotten rid of deadwoods in the ministry like typists who do not know how to use a computer ,7 drivers attached to one single level 15 civil servant ,houseboys and house girls on federal payroll etc.
obj monetised all their fringe benefits to prevent procurement frauds but all that has gone to the scrap heap. ( no more official cars ,official houses ,official spoons , fork has become more cars,houses........)
It is not surprising that they cannot pay salaries.
They are now talking about diversifying but you need capital spending to diversify.
PLS TAKE TIME AND READ THAT ARTICLE.
With a budget only about able to pay salaries where will they get the capital sums needed to buy tractors or build the refineries needed to diversify . like I said before, I wil not be surprised if the world food program may have to come to nigeria in future to feed folks lik they do have in somalia

You begin to understand why the likes of Emeka anyaoku ,Pat utomi do not relate with these types . Just like Yinka odumakin and co in the southwest, they have no day job. They go around pimping their ethnicity and using it as a bargaining chip for their own stomach.
Fortunately, they are sussed out in the southwest and quickly rendered irrelevant.
E.g

Alex akinyele
Fani kayode
Ebenezer babatope
Yinka odumakin and so on

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Does Not Need 72-yr-old Grandfather As President – Peter Obi by oduastates: 8:49pm On Jan 03, 2015
Obi has a profitable racket going in anambra. With the state's money conveniently lodged in his bank and used to run that bank , it is obvious that he wouldn't let go easily.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Returning To Another Debt Trap by oduastates: 8:27pm On Jan 03, 2015
Job well done by iweala for her IMF /world bank masters.
After removing subsidy (typical IMF move) and squandering/stealing the benefit of that removal , the next step is to start flogging government properties and societal inheritance for peanuts.
They are already talking about privatising the inland waterways.

PoliticsRe: My New Year Prophecy For Nigeria By Dele Momodu by oduastates: 4:57pm On Jan 03, 2015
Jonathan simply has to go. Many thieves have latched on to one part of the economy or the other and they are unwilling to let go.
Over the years, I have read many things on nairaland. Remember the director in a federal ministry whose daughters were kidnapped? That man apparently can send his children to study overseas,on a civil servant salary. The man is either stealing or not spending most of his time on the government business he is paid to do.
There are thousands of people like this in Nigeria. This is before we talk about the big thieves.

PoliticsRe: Video Of Rev Mbaka Asking Nigerians To Vote For Buhari (part1) by oduastates:
Just like Gowon, shagari, ibb, abacha, Obasanjo and now GEJ.
They have all tried to hang on to power at all cost, for the sake of hanging on to power, even though he people wanted them out.
They all have between 4 to 6 years to earn the vote. This is the simplest thing to do. They get there and turn themselves into tin -gods and depots sharing the country's wealth amongst a crooked few along the corridors of power.
The silent voices in the East must rise against the cacophony of noises coming from their self-centred elites. There are some out there speaking but their voices are being drowned out.
Stop allowing a few from using you as a bargaining chip for peanuts and start learning to use your bloc vote to demand good governance and regional development.
We have these types in the SW but we have absolutely succeeded in putting them in their places. The only way they are relevant today is to go to Abuja to do their sycophancy or when abuja tries to force them on us using their rigging machinery, military, police or INEC.
When the time is right and these useless types have been quarantined, we will move against the conservatives calling themselves progressives.

First item on buhari's agenda must to retrieve all oil blocks and vest them in the country like putin did in Russia.
Remove all oil importing marketers from the value chain.
Let them all go and set up biscuit factories.
Jonathan could easily have won the SW by doing or not allowing the following to happen.

1 fuel subsidy fraud. He lost the professional class here especially the use of ethnicity and military during the protest.
2 mismanagement of the economy
3 Reno omokri ,okupe ,asari and his online trolls
4 better handling of boko haram . He did not create it but he could and should have handled it better.
5 heeding the alaafins warning not to get involved in SW politics.
6 being supportive of the governors and assisting them with their projects
7 the use of religion and ethnicity as a tool.
8 a lack of control over subordinates.
9 the complete marginalisation of the SW. He could have made up for the absence with prominent appointment of professional (not politicians) in non elective posts
10 Pallying around with criminal politicians.
11 putting his wife in check.
12 the final straw was amaechi( many yorubas considers PH to be the closest to lagos in attitude). If Jonathan was allowed to get away with the nonsense in rivers state, he may want to try in the West. A line was drawn in the sand.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Most Churchiest President by oduastates: 10:12pm On Jan 02, 2015
There are no Christians in Nigeria.
There are no Muslims in Nigeria.

The northerners also used religious identity politics. In fact they still use it. All politicians use it but the past presidents have tended to avoid it completely apart from the holy month. Jonathan however,is complete mental case and something else entirely.
It is only in this part of the world that you will find someone calling himself a PhD holder and at the same time, believe in religious fairy tales.
Like the world is only 6000 years old when scientific evidence shows that the ground on which you are standing is millions of year old.
Inferiority complex.

The club scene below is from Lebanon.
A mixed Muslim /Christian country.
The school scene is from Syria. Before the war, most of their schools were better than this.

Question: What Is the Fear of Escalators?

Sometimes known as "escalaphobia," the fear of escalators is surprisingly common. According to the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation, over 35,000 escalators in the United States and Canada move 245 million people per day. Yet despite their frequent usage, escalators are commonly cited as a feared object. The fear of escalators may be mild or severe, and the reasons behind the fear range from misunderstandings about their construction to the perception of moving quickly.

PoliticsRe: Question For Jonathan Goodluck: What Kind Of Economy Are We Running In Nigeria?? by oduastates: 9:43pm On Jan 02, 2015
What kind?
You are running a cross between facism, feudalism and oligarchy.

Feudalism : A political, economic, or social order resembling this medieval system.

Oligarchy :a form of government in which all power is vested in a few persons or in a dominant class or clique; government by the few.

Facism :often capitalized :a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

Theft or no theft, even though osun would be self sustaining if all consumption taxes( VAT,petrol tax, road toll) and mineral right or vested in the state , there is still more osun can do in order to insulate herself from the mismanagement of oil money by Jonathan.
Things Like investing in greenhouse agriculture and irrigation, we can easily have year round agricultural. Also the state can tap into the world's trillion dollar annual garment industry.
