PoliticsRe: With Jonathan Nigeria Now Exports Food---photos by oduastates: 4:17pm On Dec 27, 2014
Begonia:
Nigeria has been exporting foodstuffs and other goods for many years way before Jonathan became president.
The main problem is her unfavourable balance of trade.
PoliticsRe: With Jonathan Nigeria Now Exports Food---photos by oduastates:
Nigeria has been exporting food since like forever( before abacha) There aren't any Nigeria food you would not get in Europe and America.
From made in ikeja Guinness,Peak milk, indomie to made in ijebu garri.

PoliticsRe: Mimiko Is A Fool by oduastates:
Mimiko only cares about one thing and one person.
Mimiko.
He is an egomaniac who pretends to be humble but he is a corrupt ultra-conservative politician.
Ifyou study the trajectory of his political career properly, you would observe that he is not only an AGIP, he is also a deviously ambitious and shameless politician.
He is like Anenih, madueke, ezeife, Edwin Clarke, fani kayode, Jerry gana, Ebenezer babatope and co.
While others were fighting abacha, mimiko was busy hobnobbing with them like the names above.
He calculations were based on continuing to have a political career after his term but he goofed big time.

I don't believe that a president should wait in turn in any public establishment. Critical work of the State waits for attention as long as the leader remains on the queue.
Yeah right.
He should budget more for a clinic in aso rock for his personal pleasure, than a teaching hospital in a region.
While at it, park 100 ambulances there whole thosebteaching hospitals do not have a single one.
A true leader can be anywhere but the job still gets done by his subordinates.
He gives directions and his subordinates carry it out.

PoliticsRe: Removing The Arabic On Naira Notes by oduastates: 6:02pm On Dec 26, 2014
Sorry o.
Islamic inscriptions ain't my cultural heritage.
It is the heritage of Arabic imperialists from whom some of my ancestors refused to mix and would rather emigrate out rather than adopt their way of life when they invaded Egypt.
Why would they want to replace their liberal values, culture and religion with something so hostile and constraining?
My heritage is based on the ifa system and omoluabi philosophy. I do not need a pastor to tell me that I have devote myself to the service of humanity.

Afeniferawon.
These alatenuje who followed Awo all around to act as errand boys, but who do not share any of his ideals, values or intellect.
Ebenezer babatope is one of those. He gravitate towards power but has nothing up there.
Compared to radicals like Odia Ofeimum( who are not yorubas by the way) but who live their lives according to that ideology.
If you overthrow a corrupt oligarchy, unfortunately those capable of challenging your authority ( whether good or bad) have to go incommunicado for a while. That is simply the way it goes.( the art of war)
If you like, you can do the opposite. Hand them 4 mechanised divisions with adequate amo.
Why am I replying this dumbo

Like everything they touch , their pathetic attempt to use social media to spread their lies and misinformation has fallen on deaf ears.
Like the ministers and advisers they appoint , their paid foot soldiers and online trolls are equally as incompetent and clueless as the bad product in Aso Rock .
Those who will believe their nonsense are already sold on their bullshitss offline.
PoliticsRe: Why Some Nigerians Say GEJ Is A Weak President. by oduastates:
teemy:
Concerning that, no govt accepts the reports of media houses without doing fact finding to verify the news of that magnitude. What bothered me most was the fact that the correct report was killed along the chain of command so as not to reach the relevant authorities on time. Remember that the terrorists used the noise of the Abuja Nyanyar bombing to cover their tracks. It was not until recently that I saw on nairaland that some security personnel were found guilty of culpability in the issue. Guess even the govt made their trial low key so that investigations as to their involvement could proceed undercover without alerting those responsible. Normally govts would have used the info of their capture to score political points but this was not done so even to counter the noise of the inactivity of the govt during the #Bringbackour girls campaigns.

@topic the fellow that could undermine baba iyabo in the pdp is certainly NOT a weak man.

Hyper Corruption

Unruly aides and officials in the presidency
reducing nigeria to an object of scorn and mockery on the international scene.

Before questioning other people's attitudes and opinions. MaybeThe first thing to do , is to question yourself.

Unite for whom and what?
Someone who ranks worse than abacha.
Ain't gonna happen.
If the country remains together and If you want jonathan , you can appoint him the premier of the Eastern region to continue his transformation there because ,that is where we are going.
But most omoluabis can see that the problems in Nigeria goes beyond the fatalist behaviour of the Fulani aristocracy.
We have a measure Control over our leadership but the SS/SE and the Northerners have a tiny bit.
The SE and the eastern SS can be equally be regarded feudal societies .No surprise there that the politicians from those parts also turn out to be the richest citizens in those states.

Hahaahahah, be objective. I know that many Lagos Island roads are under construction but there has to be better project management to avoid this ugly pictures that do the people and tbe government no good.

What makes you think OP is from outside Lagos?

There is no perfect person, system or government. Governor Fashola should step-up his hustle on these projects.
Budget 101

There is a difference between

1 i have N5000 in the bank to buy a wrist watch (Qatar)

2 I was hoping to be able to raise N5000 (from taxes )in the next year , to buy a watch. but my roof ha started leaking today. I will try to raise the money next year.

3 I am hoping to raise N5000 for my saving account ( do nothing)

Apart from number one who has endless supply of money , you are assuming from the theory of the expectation that everything goes on smoothly in a project.
E.g There is hardly a project in Lagos which does not go through litigation. People are always suing the government for the most mundane of things.
Ebola was not budgetted for . The Lagos state government took on the responsibilities of the federal government.
Do you know that the Lagos metro project is being held back by Jonathan's government envious politics and bad belle .the metro has to go through a corridor held by the federal government (not owned ,all land in Lagos are on lease)

Reality is a b*t*ch . Project management,PMP and prince 2 theory stops at the doors of reality . No project get done without money.
When funds are limited or when the hope of project being funded has a small window of opportunity, your theory goes out of the window.
Lagos is a poor state single handedly carrying the weight of a country.houses are being built and Streets are being created faster than the state can afford to pave old streets or repair damaged ones.

Fash tried as a governor but he should not forget that states like akwa ibom and cross river are pdp States that are doing well. It doesn't matter the party but the individual involved. Infact I have heard of more good stories orally from akwa ibom than from lagos.
Sorry but akwa ibom is a gas station and nothing has changed. The people remain piss poor considering the fact that this is the only state with a budget big enough to match the responsibilitities.
Amaechi is gradually transitioning port harcourt from that appellation to a centre of culture , arts , education , tourism and corporate business.that is , A proper economy whose oil economy is a part rather than the whole . He has done this by expanding the size of the Middle class and investments in the future. The middle class in akwa ibom simply does not exist beyond the civil servants .
I rate cross river second after river state in the east.

Lagos is a poor state single handedly carrying the weight of a country.houses are being built and Streets are being created faster than the state can afford to pave old streets or repair damaged roads.

Finally ,There are those who genuinely want to draw the attention of the SG to their neighbourhood. There are also those who want to introduce that regressive type of governance and politics . Their job is that being down the best amongst us like they did to Awolowo.

Food for thought
You only need to visit the group Facebook pages of the person who put up post like this . Just 2 out of every 10 post is made by someone can be considered as making a measured or critical opinion .whether for or against, you've to respect the opinions of such people.
The irony was that most of the post against APC were made by persons who reside but are not from those states.
Their states are too good and transformational for them to stay.
Hmm , you wonder why?
No concept of government or governance . That is why.
Why should you listen to such people.
You have 2 choices if you are still sitting on the fence. Your culture , values and future or a street no one has heard of.
Mobilise to extricate ourselves from that cesspit. Time to end monkey dey work baboon dey chop country.

In 6 months in a bad economy .
This is what was declared , most of it has probably gone undeclared

Value Added Tax :N407.95bn,
Company Income Tax of N422.63bn
Customs & Excise Duties of N257.91bn

Most of this is coming out of Lagos , ogun and Ibadan . Like someone wrote ,Even after compensating for loss of population. That is more money being taken out of Lagos than any state contributes.
True federalism and resource control will change that.

Rail between Abuja and kaduna.
They cannot get their priorities right
Obj , GEJ are a bunch egg headers .

Is that more important than

1Electricity
2Niger bridge
3the road or high speed rail between Ibadan and Lagos.
4Buying tractors and building agricultural infrastructure e.g (irrigation infrastructure )so that kaduna and Abuja can actually contribute to the national kitty all year round.
5 helping the people whose communities who actually own the oil.

The SW could easily contribute 5 times more in revenues if electricity were available.
There wouldn't be so much trouble in the ND. If those communities were actually getting services.
Starving the productive states who actually contribute to the national purse .
It is like buying a 70 inches 4k tv for $50,000 when you cannot afford to put a roof over your head.
Building the national art theatre iganmu when the whole country was still ancient.
Kaduna and Abuja have benefited more than any other state from Nigeria, even though the two state contributes nothing and are not commercial viable.
Their very existence depends on tax revenues from elsewhere.
Only in Nigeria have I ever seen leaders spending so much on building luxury projects ( instead of functional) projects in places still at the basest level of existence.
