This article news below as published by The Punch Newspaper has actually exposed what IPOB really is: a politically motivated group masquerading as a secessionist movement. Please read: The leader of Indigenous People of Biafra , Nnamdi Kanu , on Friday, said that the secessionist group will send the governor of Imo State , Rochas Okorocha, back to Jos in 2019 . Kanu who spoke in Owerri when he visited the state with hundreds of thousands of his supporters insisted that there would be no election in Anambra State in November and in the other four the South East States in 2019. Saying that a Sovereign State of Biafra was the only solution, he said that only referendum not power devolution to States nor restructuring will solve the problems of the country . According to Kanu “ We are in the land of Biafra . I have come to Owerri to spread the good news of the coming of Biafra Republic . I don ’ t want you people to be deceived. Restructuring does not have any meaning and I want you people to go and tell Ohanaeze Ndigbo. ” “ There is no freedom in Nigeria. All their children are abroad studying and enjoying good environment . “ Only referendum can solve the problems of Nigeria . Power devolution is not the solution. Resource control is not our problem. What we need is Biafra . They are going about deceiving our people in the name of restructuring . “ I want to say it again . There will be no election in Anambra and there will be no election in 2019 , in Igboland . And there will be no election in Imo state. “ Go and tell Rochas Okorocha that I am a child of God. I want you people to tell him that he will leave Government House in 2019 and go back to Jos where he came from . Let him get ready . “ There you have it. http://punchng.com/ipob-will-sack-okorocha-in-2019-nnamdi-kanu/ |
Those statements quoted in the tread and those who made them, are they from the SW? Why are you IPODS miscreants attacking my race when the statements were not made by us but by the people you've been bragging to be part of your utopian Biafra? My God, these things just reason upside-down! |
iLoveConductor:Ododowa is that you? But I thought you should be in Ogun State right now defending the declining poo slinging populace of Obomoso who are being decimated by wicked skull mining Afonja grandfathers and baddo terrorists. Ododowa don't tell me you're now a lunatic. You were not thrown away frkm the skies to start opening multiple threads on Biafra. Ododowa please stop making me laugh What is that you did up there, sure that wasn't bully? Just paid you back in your own coin man. |
CltrAltDel:Hahahahahah! You mind the nincompoops constituting nuisance. Their clownishness knows no bounds. I hope the reasonable Igbos like those my neighbors prevail over these jobless ones. |
There is something I just discovered recently and it is that almost all the Igbo outside of the South-East, i.e, those in the SW, NORTH e.t.c are not in support of this nonsense being promoted by the Lunatic and his sorry cohorts. The one who is a neighbour of mine actually really abhors them and considers them as jobless and unproductive thugs. |
drake2000x:Continue to deceive yourself. You'll know when the chips are down. |
iLoveConductor:Are you one of the gullible followers of that mentally deranged LUNATIC? Continuu. It would soon be dawn on you that all is just a waste of time. |
Prominent indigenes of the ethnic groups in Benue and
Rivers states , which Nnamdi KANU is seeking to annex , described the
Biafran agitator as a jester .
For instance, a retired police chief , Abubakar Tsav , said Kanu
must be suffering from ‘mental ailments’ to utter such utterance.
He said , “ I think the man has some mental problems . What is the
connection between the Tivs , the Idoma and the Igbo? I think the
man needs to see a psychiatric doctor because something is
wrong with him .
“ He is not well because nothing connects the Tivs , the Idoma to
the Igbo. How can he say he wants Benue State to be part of
Biafra ? He should stay where he is and carry on with his
madness . We are not ready to be part and parcel of his
madness ”
Other prominent indigenes of Tiv, Idoma and Igede, the three
major ethnic groups in Benue State who also lashed out at Kanu
included , a first- class traditional ruler in Tivland , the Tor
Sankera, Abu King Shuluwa ; a former Minister of Interior , Abba
Moro ; a former Minister of State for Education, Professor Jerry
Agada and former Economic Adviser to former president
Olusegun Obasanjo , Professor Ode Ojowu.
King Shuluwa described Kanu as “ a man with little intelligence
who dared lumped Benue as part of Biafra . ”
He said , “ His level of intelligence is in question, else, how dare
him to annex Benue as part of Biafra territory . In fact , if you are
looking for more people to be part of your territory , does
common sense not say you should have a talk with them ?”
Moro corroborated the monarch ’s submission stressing that the
Igbo language , culture and tradition are clearly different from
those of the three tribes in Benue State .
He said , “ Benue is not part of Biafra , we do not have any
relationship with Biafra in genealogy , culture and by colonial
creation, Benue is part of the north . ”
Agada on his part, warned the Indigenous People of Biafra and
the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of
Biafra to stop laying claims to Idoma land as part of their
territory .
Also in Rivers State , Ogbakor Ikwerre , a body of the Ikwerre
Ethnic Nationality in Rivers State also disagreed with Kanu on
his demand that Rivers State must be part of Biafra .
President- General of Ogbakor Ikwerre Cultural Organisation ,
Worldwide , Professor Simeon Achinewhu, told SUNDAY PUNCH
that Biafra failed in the past because there were attempts by the
former Biafran leader , late Odumegwu Ojukwu , to force
unwilling minority groups into Biafra .
The President, Ijaw Youth Council , Eric Omare , asked Kanu to
have a rethink about the territory of the Biafra of his dream and
restrict it to the states of the South - East .
Omare said , “ The Ijaw nation has said it times without number
that the South - South especially the Ijaw are not part of Biafra
territory . ” |
Gbenga Adeniji Suspected members of the Badoo cult early Friday morning killed two lovers in their apartment in Ogun State. A source told our correspondent that the heads of the victims were smashed. The incident happened at a storey building located on Hassan Abiodun Street, off Ojodu Berger, in Ifo Local Government Area of the state. Many of the residents could not be consoled as policemen from Ojodu Abiodun Division took away the remains of the deceased for onward transfer to the General Hospital Sagamu. Many of the residents wailed as the corpses were brought out of the room and wrapped in wrappers. A resident told our correspondent that the victims were to be officially married in December. “The lady recently lost her father and the man she was to marry only came on a visit. She was a tall, beautiful lady and was also pregnant, ” the resident said. It was gathered that their assailants tore the window net to gain entry and thereafter smashed the lovers’ heads. Another resident said none of the tenants knew what happened until daybreak. The resident said, “There is a police officer who lives next door to the deceased’s Boy’s Quarter. He did not hear anything. It is very sad and this development will create panic in the area.” Our correspondent observed that the police station is a stone’s throw from where the murder took place even as residents said vigilantes patrol the street every night. The police also arrested a man who tried to take a picture of their van and the vehicle the victims were put in. As of 111 am the occupants of the building were still crying at the frontage. The spokesperson for the police in Ogun, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, could not be reached for comments as his mobile indicated that it was switched off. http://punchng.com/badoo-strikes-in-ogun-kills-lovers/ |

Two weeks after the Senate resolved to suspend consideration of the Presidency
requests for confirmation of nominees, the upper chamber on Wednesday
received the report of its Committee on Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC) on the screening of 12 Resident Electoral Commissioners
(RECs).
The Senate, on July 4 resolved to suspend all confirmation requests from the
Presidency until Acting President Yemi Osinbajo withdraws a statement credited
to him that the Senate does not need to confirm nominees from the executive
arm of government.
The Senate also asked the Presidency to sack the Acting Chairman of the
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu, in line
with its resolution.
The Senate took the resolution to suspend confirmation of presidential
nominees when Senate President, Bukola Saraki, read Osinbajo‘s letter, urging
the upper chamber to confirm the nomination of Lanre Gbajabiamila as
Director-General of the National Lottery Commission (NLC).
Senator Ahmed Sani Yerima (Zamfara West) noted that since the acting
President had already concluded that the Senate lacks the powers to confirm
nominees, there was no need to acknowledge any letter from the executive on
confirmation of nominees.
However, the Senate after over one hour closed session reversed itself by
receiving the report of the RECs screening.
The resolution suspending confirmation requests reportedly featured prominently
at the closed session.
The 12 RECs whose screening reports were received were – Mrs. Asmanu Sani
Maikudi (Katsina), Sam Olugbadebo Olumekun (Ondo), Mahmud Isah ( Kebbi),
Rufus Oloruntoyin Akeju (Lagos) and Riskuwa Shehu (Sokoto).
Others are – Kassim Gana Geidam (Yobe), Jibrin Ibrahim Zarewa (Kano),
Abdulganiyu Olayinka Raji (Oyo), Samuel Egwu (Kogi), Mike Igini (Delta),
Mustapha Zubairu( Niger) and Ahmad Bello Mahmud (Zamfara). http://thenationonlineng.net/senate-makes-u-turn-nominees-confirmation/ |

A Pennsylvania jury has awarded a man $870,000 after his doctor removed the wrong testicle during a botched 2013 surgery. Steven Hanes, 54, had suffered from chronic pain in his right testicle for years, Fox 43 reported. He sought treatment from Dr. V. Spencer Long, who recommended surgical removal after an ultrasound revealed scarring from a previous injury. However, at some point during the procedure Long removed the wrong testicle. “At this point it appeared that the left testicle and cord may actually have been removed instead of the right one,” Long wrote in the postoperative report, according to the Hamilton Spectator. A jury later found that Long was “recklessly indifferent” in the treatment of his patient and awarded Hanes $620,000 in compensatory and $250,000 in punitive damages, Fox 43 reported. http://www.foxnews.com/health/2017/06/19/man-gets-870g-after-doctor-removes-wrong-testicle.html |
Two Drug Traffickers Arrested At Lagos Airport, Blame Hardship For Their Crime Two drug traffickers have been arrested at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos as they attempted to export drugs out of the country. One of the suspects, Joseph Oparaji Okechukwu, 59, said he was a contractor and blamed the present economic recession in Nigeria for nudging him into drug smuggling. The other suspect, Austine Ikenna Nnaji, 41, was identified as a safety officer in Qatar. Mr. Nnaji reportedly feigned ignorance of the content of his luggage, which he claimed to have received from a friend at the airport. A spokesman for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mitchel Ofoyeju, said Mr. Okechukwu was bound for New York City on Turkish Airlines while Mr. Nnaji was on his way to Doha, Qatar on Ethiopian Airlines. He added that officials of the anti-narcotics agency arrested the two suspects during a screening of passengers on the two airlines. Ahmadu Garba, the NDLEA commander at Lagos airport, said Mr. Okechukwu excreted 1.105 kg of brownish substances that tested positive for heroin. The other suspect, Mr. Nnaji, was found to have concealed 11.540 kg of marijuana and 490 grams of tramadol in his luggage. Mr. Garba explained that the suspects were still under investigation by a team of the NDLEA’s anti-narcotics officers. The agency stated that Mr. Okechukwu offered a confessional statement in which he attributed his crime to Nigeria’s economic downturn and to the “devil.” The suspect, who hails from Imo State, resides in the Surulere area of Lagos. The agency quoted him as saying, “I am sick and in debt. I did not smuggle drugs deliberately. Since 2015, I have been living in abject poverty to the extent that l cannot take care of my family. This is the handiwork of the devil and I regret everything now.” On his part, Mr. Nnaji, who hails from Enugu State, reportedly claimed a friend handed him the luggage containing the drugs at the Lagos Airport. According to NDLEA agents, the suspect stated that a friend of his who is based in Qatar had sent someone to him at the airport to deliver the luggage, adding that the messenger claimed the contents were foodstuff. Mr. Nnaji reportedly wrote, “I work as a safety officer in Qatar and I came to Nigeria to visit my parents and make arrangements for my marriage. My friend in Qatar called me and asked me to assist him in bringing some foodstuffs. When the bag was given to me at the airport, I almost rejected it because it was too heavy. Unfortunately, the drugs were detected by NDLEA officers.” Colonel Mustapha Abdallah (ret.), the NDLEA’s Chief Executive Officer, disclosed that the anti-narcotics agency had perfected strategies to detect hidden drugs by couriers. He warned drug traffickers attempting to smuggle drugs through the airports, seaports and land borders to realize that they were walking in troubled waters. He said the two suspects would soon be charged to court. http://saharareporters.com/2017/06/09/two-drug-traffickers-arrested-lagos-airport-blame-hardship-their-crime |
ayindejimmy:You've never heard of herdsmen attack in Ondo, Ogun, Oyo and Osun? You can,'t be serious! Let me tell you, Fulani herdsmen attack farmers on daily basis especially in the Oke-Ogun axis of Oyo state. My dad's tens of acres of cassava farm was destroyed and that is just one in hundreds of such cases happening daily. In Oke-Ogun, One of the food baskets of Nigeria, farmers can no longer go to their farms without fair. This nonsense has got to stop. |
I was shocked to the brim when it was reported
that some IPOB women go 'nude' to protest.
Despite Chinua Achebe wrote a great master piece
titled 'There was a country'; which may literarily
mean that Biafra is dead.
it is not just surprising to see some people
striving to revive the country but also thoughtful,
if there is still hope for its creation.
I am not from the Niger Delta, but i believe that
part of the country have not only suffered but
also have the tendency to have developed beyond
this, if they were a country on their own.
Nevertheless am of two different opinions; First
BIAFRA can Never stand, second the agitation for
separation is a right philosophy in a wrong way
sponsored by deluded and selfish individuals
maybe some influencial Niger Deltans.
Crucify me and i will resurrect; BIAFRA will not
stand not because they can not choose to stand
but because certain southerns will jeopardise its
effort, In fact to some extent the agitation is
political.
Sorry to say; i read 'There was a country' and
read how the said agitation leader,Late Colonel
Ujukwu tactically 'betrayed' his people.
The truth is that the trait of betrayer is still
among the southerns; and even if they end up
creating the country, it wouldn't stand the test of
development.
Disheartenly, this is because the locust hides
beneath the vegetable, somehow this attest to
the arrest of a southern oil mogul over alleged
N11b oil theft by the DSS recently.
However, am of the opinion that Nigeria
geopolitical zones developing on their own is a
right philosophy but not in terms of separation; I
share view with exponents that believe a
Confederal system of Government, will solve our
problem.
If we can have a weak central government where
we don't have 108 senators who are figured
headed, money wasters and all states develop on
their own with whatever revenue they can
internally generate and resources at their
disposal, without any breast feeding by the
Federal Government, i think our problem of
difference will reduce to a fairest minimum.
Imagine various Pride of our country such as
cocoa, groundnut, salt, limestone, cotton and even
zinc have been forgotten after the oil boom.
A Confederate will make all states look inward to
revive all these natural resource while the oil
state can decide on what to do with oil.
As much as i believe Confederal system of
government is the revolution we need, i think the
people agitating for BIAFRA should go back to the
hearts of History especially the Civil war to see
that it is dangerous to actualize their goal by
aggrieved confrontation called war.
However,if they insist on creating their country; i
have two options; one they should convince all
their indigenes all of over the country to relocate
back to their state of origin(alongside their
businesses) or they should follow the path of
North Korea.
Either way, am in support..lol.. #COPIED. |

The kind of venomous ethnic bigotry coming from many of my dear Yoruba brothers here today is very disturbing and must be condemned. Yorubas are known world over to be good-natured but these few bad eggs are giving us a bad name. The Igbos are the only tribe in Nigeria that the Yorubas are almost more comfortable with and feel safe in their care, if not most. With this level of hatred, how would I be able to face my Igbo friends tomorrow if some of them are here reading this, how? Please stop this madness. |

A House of Representatives member, representing Bosso , Paiko
Federal Constituency in the Niger East senatorial zone of Niger
State , Salihu Adamu , narrowly escaped death last Monday when
aggrieved youths in his constituency beat him beyond
recognition.
Our correspondent learnt from a very reliable source that he
was first hospitalised in the Tunga area of the state capital
following the assault before being transferred to a medical
centre in Kaduna .
According to findings the vehicle in which the lawmaker was
travelling was also damaged by the angry youths.
It took the intervention of men of the Niger State Police
Command who were invited by some people at the scene of the
incident for the lawmaker to be saved.
Trouble was said to have started when the lawmaker drove into
one of the villages in his constituency to attend a political
meeting.
The youths who were said to have haboured resentment against
the politician took exception to his attending the meeting
because he had failed to visit them since he was elected almost
two years ago.
It was learnt that immediately he arrived the meeting the youths
advised him to leave in his own interest but the lawmaker
ignored the threat .
An eyewitness said , “ One of the youths first slapped him and
another hit him in the stomach making him to fall to the ground .
“ It then became a free for all as every youth there tried to take
their pound of flesh from the politician. ”
When contacted the State Police Command Public Relations
Officer , Bala Elkana, confirmed the incident .
“ It was a politically motivated attack , ” Elkana said , adding that
three suspects had been arrested in connection with the
incident.
The police spokesman also confirmed that the legislator was
admitted to a private hospital in Minna before being moved to
Kaduna . http://punchng.com/federal-legislator-hospitalised-after-mob-attack-in-niger/ |
