It seems ECOWAS is bluffing because its on the world stage and Niger should call their bluff. Fake news in Nigeria of immediate invasion. ECOWAS asked the service chiefs to activate a stand by force but they will still seek diplomacy first, military intervention is a last resort. Did anyone listen to the meeting. Media hello.

Buhari and Nigeria's case can be likened to a couple in marriage counseling who were told to ask each other one question to understand why the husband beats up the wife.

Wife's question to husband - Why do you always beat me up, even on a very small matter?
Husband replies - Because you are very stubborn and don't listen to me.

Husband's question to wife - Why are you so stubborn, you did not even listen to your mother when she told you not to marry me?
Wife replies - because I thought you would change.

You brought up and discredited solar programs in Lagos to discredit and challenge my comments about 14 new solar power plants agreement singed by Fashola at the federal level. PERIOD. Unless you did that for pointless, meaningless and absent minded reasons.

Fashola have singed tons of contracts and achieved so much in return that he remains the most accomplished leader in the history of Nigeria. Let me know if you need facts because I have a whole lot to kill you with.

Bringing up irrelevant arguments that has nothing to do with what you are arguing against means you are void of any capacity to read and comprehend what you read so go back to elementary school to lean how to read and comprehend simple English words..

Sadly, I'm still an Nigerian (although against my will smiley) and that gives me the right to comment on Nigerian matters.

3. Have you visited the schools and clinics with the solar program in Lagos state before making your baseless comments about their functionality? Of course you haven't, just ignorant and baseless rant.

Did he sign agreements for 14 new power plants? Yes or nO?

I never challenged your comment concerning the signing. Actually I believe an agreement was signed.

My point was that these sort of agreements have been signed before by this same crook with no results to show for it.

However in your haste to defend your political icon, you misconstrued my argument.

So, I'll make myself even clearer so you do not get it twisted.

Don't waste your breath. These religious empires know their priorities quite well.

The first, and maybe the only, priority is wealth creation for their empires. Unemployed men cannot help them realise this priority.
Worse still, women that marry unemployed men may now have less to give towards its realisation.

In light of this - I suppose the overseers advise may be good advise after-all.

Biafra leadership.
I am of the opinion that's the reason why the igbo nation have failed so far is bad leadership... Won't this same politicians we have hijack the new country and still rule us? ? Someone will say that's won't happen we will get new faces... And I ask... Why don't we get these new faces and get them into power and test run their leadership?

Your concerns here are very real, albeit misguided. It is important to put this concern in the context of the current leadership in Nigeria. Nigeria does not have good leader either, hence Biafra cannot be worse off if we leave Nigeria.

Igbo investment outside Biafra .
It's on record that we igbos have the highest investment outside our region in Nigeria... Since we hate our neighbours so much.. . Do we forsake all our trillions In investment outside our region and come back home??
Even if we decide to remain out side Biafra.. The Nigerian government can chase us away. . We did it to Ghanaians.. . Zimbabwe just did Same. . So it can be done... what would we fall back to??

Firstly, we don't hate our neighbours. WE are the ones that have been killed, unjustly, by our neighbours and are aggrieved, and rightly so. However, on your related point - our neighbours that love us so much should not be threatening to claim our legally acquired possessions in the event of a breakup. If they however make a claim it may be the price of freedom and Nationhood for Biafrans.
And to your statement 'what do we fall back on'?; the answer - we start to build. We build on what we already have on ground at the moment and take it from there. Remember what is ours is ours, nobody will lay a claim to it in the future.

Less market for igbos .
We igbos love to trade and moving out of Nigeria means.. Less free market.. imagine of Kano start denying us visa to trade in their market. ..Imagine igbos not having access to alaba.. Who will be our market??

We may likely lose our positioning in their markets initially, but in the long run we will trade with ALL our neighbours on agreed terms. Trade transcends boundaries - racial or otherwise.

importation and exportation .
Onless we bring along the akwa ibom and cross River we are doomed (as for the ijaws... They rather live with North than igbos).. . We would have no access to the sea. .. imagine if Israel was land locked.. . The would have been history now...

We will find a way, access to sea or not - Germany is a case in point.

Electricity .
If Biafra get independent today.. what is our installed capacity?? . ... Yes we have the potential but we're will the money come from to build the power plants...
Are we ready to live in darkness for years till the plants are built? ?

We will be no worse off. Nigeria has not provided electricity either.

Revenue.
This is a very important question, what is the estimated revenue for this Biafra, what is the revenue estimate for this country will 40% pay the salary?? Or will we have to borrow to pay salaries?? I need answers to this.

I'm not sure I totally understand you. Assuming the revenue you are referring to is state funds - we will pay what we have and when we earn more we pay more. Also we have mineral deposits in the regions and we will exploit it. Also, we will develop our human resources.
Remember, we will not be worse off - Nigeria also under exploits its resources also.

Any body who is rational and lebral will understand that Biafra as it is today is not an option.. . We need to remain in Nigeria as we have more to gain from this country

I am rational and believe Biafra is an option to be explored based on the reasons I have stated above.

While we hold our leaders responsible for our lack of development
T. A orji we all know is a theif yet we celebrated him and gave him cheiftency tiles and sent him to the Senate to loot again, the list is endless
If nnamdi Kanu is popular.. Let him run for Abia governorship let's see his leadership style... .
Roaches was good then because we never tested him. .. Now we have seen his true colour... Let's not fall victim to some few people's selfish interest

A majority of the Senate are considered to be criminals anyway, so T A Orji will fit in just fine, if he's also a thief. But with Biafra we surely have a new senate and a CHANCE to curb stealing. And if we don't - we will not be worse off.
The worse case scenario is that we will become like Nigeria - a corrupt despotic state, ruled by criminals with no visions for its people or the nation as a whole.

Supporting Biafra is supporting a chance to break from the current vicious cycle we currently find in Nigeria. Nigeria is colonial relic. The idea the colonisers (Britain) had behind Nigeria's amalgamation was to organise its so-called savage people for efficient exploitation. Nigerian leaders have upheld that tradition exceptionally well. Nigerian leaders have also exploited our collective resources for their benefits.
The call for Biafra is a noble cause. Seeking the dissolution of a despotic state like Nigeria should be a duty for every Biafran because its embodies hope for the betterment of our people.

Religion / Re: How Come Other Races Follow Their Religions Except Africans? by OfBiafra: 1:13pm On Jun 25, 2016
Rossikk:
I mean, other races have a history of barbaric religious practices which they eventually abandoned for more humane worship - thus 're-packaging' their religions. In fact their religions killed far more people than African faiths. Which religion compares to the hideous wholesale massacres perpetrated by European Christians in their various slaughterfests titled 'Crusades', and 'Inquisitions'? Who can vie with Arab Muslims in their mad rampages across various nations in bloody Jihads? What about the chilling mass sacrifice rituals of the Hindu Indians? The Shintoists of old Japan? Compared to these faiths, African religion is a moral giant, laden with multitudes of spiritual insights and attributes. Yet it lies abandoned, snubbed, spat on, and derided by a degenerate, morally bankrupt, colonised, brainwashed, ignorant collection of reprobate buffoons who call themselves modern Africans. Today, these 'Africans', suffering massive colonial hangover, see nothing good in their ancient philosophies and faiths. Nothing worth researching about them. Their gods must be white and imported, or they will not 'believe'. They feel they must travel OUT of Africa to worship God effectively, in pilgrimages to Mecca, Jerusalem, etc. God cannot possibly have a holy land in Africa, can he? Nah.... It must be in the white man's lands. In Europe. In Arabia.

Who will save us from this madness? Better still, How do we cure ourselves of this madness?

Hi Rossikk,

I'll like to address some sections of your post, mostly concerning the title and the bolded, from a Christian and Islamic faith perspective.

The religions of Islam & Christianity were alien to many Islamic and Christian nations today. These nations were converted by force or through the threat of force; similar to the proliferation of these faith in African countries. Europeans and Arabs, like Africans, were "idol worshippers" before their "glorious" conversion.

Also, I completely disagree with you that these nations repackaged these new faiths. As noted, these faiths were mainly introduced by force of war or extreme coercion, which leaves very little room to negotiate any terms of adoption. Plus, the chief aim of these monotheist religion is the total annihilation of any existing faiths.

As concerning pilgrimage, the economic and psychological importance of this activity mandates its observance in most religious faith. I don't see why the Christianity and Islam should be any different.

Nonsensical propaganda, at least in the case of the UK, USA and Russia.

Please take your time to consider their security details before making ludicrous claims. These criminals will never walk alone.

And even if they did, these thieving western leaders and their countries can be likened to a king that has impoverished his people (other nations) and then walks freely in his fenced city.

In any case, they never walk or appear in public without extensive security precautions - equal to budgets of some small countries. They only take these pictures for propaganda purposes - don't be fooled.

Politics / Re: Before They Mislead President Buhari: Dele Momodu by OfBiafra: 2:56pm On Jun 11, 2016
Consider these quotes from Dele's write up

President Buhari possesses the ability to move this country in the right direction and lead us to where we want to be... and

..... The major problem is that the priorities of Buhari were never palpable to the general public as everything seemed to operate in utmost secrecy.

Dele would have done well to tell us exactly what Buhari's direction may be, although I suspect he does not know. In which case he will be similar to most Nigerians. Then again, Buhari and his team may also not know.

In any-case Dele recommends true federalism in mitigating the dire situation Nigeria finds itself. A half-baked solution to Nigeria's foundational problems. Firstly, it is a fallacy to believe, that Buhari, with his limited appreciation for democratic principles or indeed his lack of respect for it, will be persuaded to deliver true federalism. Secondly, I don't believe that true federalism will make a difference to Nigeria's current situation.

However what concerns me is that a supposedly intelligent person (e.g. Dele) is comfortable to remain within a nation that he does not know it's general direction and he cannot request or demand it. Rather cautiously recommending an alternative that has already been relegated to the archives. This position smirks of cowardice.

Anyway, the so-called true federalism delays the emergence of suppressed nations within the Nigerian political space. Most of these nations share commonalities that make them agree on a general direction they deem best for their peoples'. These nations must be free to make all their own laws and demand answers from their leaders without fear. This shame of having to banter with an oppressive colonial relic called Nigeria can no longer suffice.

Biafra, being one of these nations, is agitating for self determination and not true federalism. I suppose Dele (and his likes) may be bold enough to demand something similar for their Oduduwa nations someday.

. Nnamdi Azikiwe was 33yrs old when he founded the West African Pilot, a newspaper that was an instrument of agitation and enlightening the masses on the need for independence. And subsequently joined the Nigerian youth movement. As well as Chief Obafemi Awolowo who was long active in the politics of his region before he became the premier at the age of 45. Incidentally these men refused to conform to the prevailing status at the time not because of selfish material gain, but because majority of their people were being treated as 2nd class citizens in their own country. Something a good many of our present politicians with the aid of our security forces seem to be doing now.
I agree with you that age is not necessarily relative to ideas, but only the youth in any clime have the courage to dare to change their circumstance, not old men who are too set in their ways to proffer a solution in a constantly changing world of difficulties.

As long as we are agreed on the fact that ideas are at the core of changing our current predicament, I'm glad.

@ bolded - funny that the 'change', currently being enjoyed by Nigerians, was engendered by the old and effected by the youth. My point is that, the young need guidance and the old are there to provide it. The wisdom and strength of youth should be geared, firstly, at seeking out the wise counsel of the elderly before effecting any courage.

Olisa - The struggle for independence was done by old men. On the year of Nigeria's independence, Azikiwe was 56, Awolowo was 51, Bello was 50, each of them spent at least a decade as non-youths fighting for Nigeria's independence.

Compare this to the first coup plotters that wanted to restructure the Nigeria a few years after these men took charge: Nzeogwu - 23, Ademoyega - 25, Ifeajuna - 25.

The age is not in question here; its the idea. Nigeria needs to be dissolved but we need both old and young to pull together.

Incidentally, it was young men that headed both sides of Nigeria's bloody civil war. One may question their judgement in not negotiating a settlement earlier - its probably the age.

First let me thank you for calling me out with your points.

1. With due respect sir I don't see anything worthy of emolulation from book haram terrorists. this is a group that has been killing non state actors, raping and kidnapping. They are cowards and worse than the youths I'm referring to. They are a cancer to the society.

2. As for the Biafra agitators, I admire their determination and zeal even though I don't share in their ideology. I respect their choice despite the fact that I don't subscribe to their form. But I Never called the victims cowards. When I said this is a coward generation, I didn't refer to 100% of youths. There are a percentage of brae men and women but these people are negligible within the larger population.

I'm not exempting myself from this generation of cowards

On your first point 'Nigeria' is the cancer of our societies - but I suppose we have to agree to disagree on that.

On your second point, there are many Biafran agitators, alive today and risking their lives, that you have called cowards.

By the way, what % of youths do you refer to as cowards. My advise to you at this point is to stop digging, although I've always admired your knack of seeing a position through.

You have a nerve Tonye!! Generation of cowards ? You should be ashamed of yourself.
Although, I'm happy you rightly identified yourself within your definition of coward; sadly you included many Nigerian- youths who have sacrificed their lives to change the status quo for what they believe in. Examine these 2 ongoing instances:

Boko-Haram (BH) - I do not share their beliefs or their approach, but BH have consistently challenged the despotic Nigerian state you alluded to in your write up. Many lives have been lost in their quest to determine their preferred future, in the hope to rid themselves of this crop of Nigerian leaders that have strangled our collective future. We all know their modus-operandi and we all share the pains inflicted by their quests. On this matter, nothing more need be added.

Biafra - It is claimed that a million Biafrans died in the civil war – I suppose those don’t make your cut of youths in this write up, nevertheless the impact of this genocide reverberates in the region. For those that make the cut, they have been risking their lives and losing it while you editorialise on nairaland. They seek (with grave implications) to change the status quo of Nigeria. Notwithstanding their non-violence stance, they have met with castigation from youths all across Nigeria (on laptops by the way), who cheer-on the Nigerian military apparatus as they KILL these agitators of real change.
Now listen Tonye, you may not have killed any of these people or even agree with their quest, but do not dance on the graves by calling them cowards. Whatever hope you have for Nigeria is what is being exploited to maintain your bondage in this failed state. Nigeria must seize to be for us so-called youths to determine our futures - the sooner this happens, the better.

This call for our northern overlords to call their 'boys' to order is a vein one, they did not even call BH to order when it was devastating their own region.

PointB:
The Acts of King Mumu son of Hari Chapter 1: 1-24

1. In those days, She-cow and his gang of brigands ravaged the land, and they took daughters as captives from the temple of learning.

2. The people cried unto King Jonah the able son of Locki, saying “Bring back our daughters and slay She-cow for he torments us!”

3. Whereupon the Almajirites from the land of Norte conspired with their devotees from the land of Yoruga to oust Jonah the Able Son of Locki from power.

4. Thus did they address the people saying, “Johah Son of Locki cannot protect you from She-cow and cannot bring back your daughters, but Mumu the cattle rearer, son of Hari will.”

5. And there arose the zealot, Mumu the son of Hari, frail by age, and wrinkled by pain and anger. And he and the people with him took an oath and made a covenant with the people, saying “In 100 days, we will rout She-cow and his gang of terrorists from the land. I will feed your little sons and daughters in our various temples of learning, and make the mighty Dollar same in value as a single Naira! And your able men, I shall give jobs in our orchards, and ten thousand silver coins to those without work. O, good people make me king over you instead of Jonah, and I shall do all these and more.”

6. And these were the men who stood by him, when he thus addressed the people: Atif son of Tifku, Tifni son Nubu, Sara son of Raki, Ob son of Jeh (these men wined and dined with Jonah the Able son of Locki, and several kings before him).

7. Thereupon, the people made Mumu the son of Hari, frail by age, and wrinkled by pain and anger, King over them.

8. On the twenty-ninth day, in the fifth month, two thousand and fifteen years after the death of our Lord, Mumu the son of Hari, frail by age, and wrinkled by pain and anger, began his reign.

9. And King Mumu the son of Hari journeyed to the land of Germania, and upon return called them West Germania, and he forgot also the names of the house which made him king, for his memory often fail him.

10. Thereupon, he journeyed to the United World, without a scribe, to consult with Emperor Omanman son of Balak, the promoter of pervert men, to request for weapons to fight She-cow.

11. But Omanman son of Balak, would not give him weapons, unless he allowed perverted men, openly practice their perversion in his land.

12. And when King Mumu the son of Hari, frail by age, and wrinkled by pain and anger, saw what was before him, he declared to the people “Lo, I am aged, there is limit to what I can do. O people, why didn’t you make me king over you earlier?”

13. Then the people ask King Mumu to appoint men from among them who will help him reign as he’s frail and aged.

14. But King Mumu the son of Hari would not budge, for he found none worthy except himself, and those from his household. He said to the people, “I shall appoint them, in the fullness of time.”

15. Thereupon arose from his among his praise singers, a certain liar, Liar son of Momed. He visited King Mumu the son of Hari in the dead of the night and thus addressed him:

16. “O great and mighty King, thou art stronger than Samson, may you live longer than Methuselah son of Enoch and, may you crush all your enemies like Utman Dan Fodio your great grandfather.”

17. “O wise King, do not tell the people you are old and wrinkled and unfit for the job, for I shall tell them that your sneeze can cure their sick, your cough shall defeat She-cow and his army of terrorists, and your body language will fix the land and make crops grow.”

18. “O good king, even when thou shall tremble, I shall tell the people it is the earth that trembles at thy sight, not thy mighty self. And I shall blame all the ills of our land on our last King, Jonah the Able son of Locki, and the good shall be thy doings.”

19. And when Mumu the son of Hari, has been King over the people for hundred days, he addressed the people, and said unto them, “I did not go into covenant with you, neither did I promise to do anything in hundred days. Though I have appointed my friends, family and loyalists into power, it is within my power and my right as King over you.”

20. And the liar, Liar son of Momed addressed the people saying, “Lo good people, our great King Mumu the son of Hari body language has improved our power; his body language has improved our relationship with neighbors. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad O good people for surely, King Mumu son of Hari’s body language will bring food to our table, oil for our lamps, and fix our road, and defeat all our enemies.”

21. The people murmured, but could not speak out in shame for they have made Mumu son of Hari, King over them instead of Jonah the Able, son of Locki.

22. And She-cow continued to ravage the land, and hold captives. The great dollar continues to oppress the Naira and able sons of the land continue to lose their job, and not a single shilling is paid to any.

23. The people continue to murmur. And the liar, Liar son of Momed, continued to tell the people that the trembling King Mumu the son of Hari's body, is the solution to their woes.

24. And from across the big rivers, there arose another zealot, Nnam the bright, son of Dalu, and he addressed King Mumu the son of Hari thus, “Let my people go!”

Word ! Biafra should desist from blaming others for their woes because from introducing military coup into the Nigeria polity, abolishing true federalism replacing that with Unitary governance and the first tribe to slaughter the sitting prime minister of the federation I in my own little knowledge do not see how anyone of you can calm intimidation when you are obviously the aggressor.

More blame games! Suffice to say, I do not agree with your submission here, but more importantly I seek to be separated from your kind and I am sure you would desire the same if you were biafran considering the actions of Nigeria following that first coup.

Please agitate for your own republic, I can honestly tell you that the deaths of millions and the devastation of our lands and psychy is a barrier to remaining in a union with you.

Worse still, the unrepentant stance of Nigeria as a whole reassures our commitment to be separate from you people.

It is not at odds to blame GEJ (a biafran), the oil criminals (Alakija, Danjuma etc), misguided militants (Boro, Ken) and all former Presidents. Governors, statesmen etc, for the current situation in the Oil producing areas, they all have a common denominator - sustaining Nigeria . And most of them are well rewarded for their efforts.

They are also members of the Nigerian elite group and they are ALL our problem. They oversee this colony for their western overlords. They have performed like colonizers but with ethnic coloration that disguise and excuse their criminally evil behaviour.

The solution? A dismantling of the empire they oversee. In otherwords the dissolution of Nigeria. Biafrans need to understand that the assurance of our futures is dependent on this fact. This blame game and flirtation with other regions elongates our suffering. The sooner the better.
