The airport is not in the city centre but in the SW area. The city center is the area within the General post office.

To be fair, these pictures from the SE region are admirable and one shocking thing about them is that these are just locations that the average person lives in. Not even a GRA.

This should be a wake up call to all SW dwellers, time to start electing sensible leaders,time to start investing in quality housing. I noticed that majority of South Westerners will rather export their capital abroad (outside Nigeria) or to Lagos which is very bad and has left the other SW states economically disadvantaged . A friend of mine decided to do the compulsory NYSC in Ogun State this year after much pressure. He visited last month and was complaining that for the first time in his life, he is seeing teenagers in Nigeria that can't speak English. He attested to the fact that seeing a woman of 40+ that understands "go and come" in Ogun state is rare.

My reaction to his complaints was "Wait until you visit Osun state"

I have said it before and I will say it until my death. Every Yoruba cities should be developed to Eastern European cities level.

They never experienced any war. War is devastating.

They were the most educated tribe for decades after the civil war.

They benefited from the indiginization policy passed immediately after the civil war.

They were in charge of the economy after the civil war while the north controlled politics.

They have uninterrupted access to the sea.

They travel outside of Nigeria just like Igbos which means that they should know what real development looks like.



The fact that yorubas settled for mediocrity for decades after the civil war shows that is a cultural issue.
Lagos that they brag about is not of their own making. It was done with the contribution of everyone especially Igbos. If you doubt me, compare Lagos to port novo in Benin republic.

That's what I keep saying

Yorubas didn't see war, the run the Nigerian economy for more 15 years during and after the war, the had everything going for them, yet they still live in dilapitated houses
