Ibadan is far bigger and better than anything Aba has to offer.

Politics / Re: United Nations: SE Is The Least Corrupt Region In Nigeria by OFFICIAL336: 3:17pm On Apr 30, 2022
OFFICIAL336:
Nigeria’s Northwest and Northeast regions have the highest prevalence of bribery among adults, a new report published on Wednesday indicates.

The report, prepared by Nigeria’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) in partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), with a focus on the quality and integrity of public services in the country, shows that the Northwest has 36.2 per cent prevalence rate while the Northeast has 35.2 per cent prevalence rate.

The prevalence of bribery, according to the report, “is calculated as the number of adult Nigerians who had at least one contact with a public official and who paid a bribe to a public official, or were asked for a bribe by a public official, on at least one occasion in the 12 months prior to the survey, as a percentage of all adult Nigerians who had at least one contact with a public official.”

The country’s Southeast region, currently in the throes of a separatist agitation championed by Nnamdi Kanu’s Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has the lowest bribery prevalence rate of 24.2 per cent, which is below the national average prevalence rate of 32.3 per cent.

In between these extremes are the Southsouth, Southwest and Northwest with corruption prevalence rates of 33.8 percent, 32.8 per cent and 29.1 per cent, respectively.

In terms of an average number of times a bribe is paid in each of the regions, Southeast has 4.9, followed by Northwest with 5.2 and Southwest with 5.7 times – all of which are below the national average of 5.8 occurrence rate. A bribe is paid in an average of 6.2 times in the Northeast, while both the Northcentral and the Southsouth have a 6.4 occurrence rate.

However, the report notes that from the “spatial analysis of bribery prevalence across the 36 states of Nigeria, no clear geographical pattern emerges. At the state level, the prevalence of bribery ranges between 13 per cent in Kwara State and 52 per cent in Borno State, indicating that local factors can have a significant impact on interactions between civil servants and the public.”

It is not that the North love Jonathan to run for Presidency. The North is only looking for him to do 4years and let power come back to them since they (North) are being told that APC should zone presidency to the South. They now see it just to fulfill all righteousness by calling GEJ to run only 4 years. It's only some Southerners that don't understand the game the North is playing.North simply want power to remain with them

Mr. irresponsibility, can you name or show an example where the Yorubas don’t take responsibility? And by the way, I am neither Yoruba nor Igbo but just hate generalizations for that is a lazy man’s trade.
Even a blind man knows Yorubas don'tttt take responsibility. I'll list just three

1. Awolowo was imprisoned for planning treason with Ghana against Azikiwe/Belewa. In 1965, a coup was carried out to break Awolowo out of prison and make him president.

An Igbo man Ojukwu and Ironsi quashed the coup. One of the ring leaders Nzeogwu met OBJ at the night before the coup. Ademoja was one of the ring leader and no Igbo from SE was part of the leaders only andoma people who Yorubas believe to be non-Igbos.

When the coup failed, we started hearing it was an Igbo coup.

How can Igbos carry out a coup to remove an Igbo-led government to install a Yoruba man imprisoned for treason and still quash their coup?

Does it make sense to you?

2. Yorubas destroyed Lagos during EndSars and blamed Igbos.

3. Ask a Yoruba man, between Igbos and Yorubas who does ritual pass and he will mention Igbo

4. Yorubas say Igbos are the poorest region in the South but Yorubas have the highest number of most vulnerable households in the South after SS.

Yorubas dont take responsibility. They will always find someone to blame.

11 Nigerian nationals arrested in Bangladesh over Facebook scam
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police in Bangladesh has arrested 11 Nigerian nationals for their alleged involvement in a Facebook scam.
Detectives apprehended the suspects in several operations conducted in different parts of Dhaka on Wednesday, the DMP said in a media briefing on Thursday, April 21.

The Nigerian arrestees have been identified as Henri Osita Okechukwu, Chisom Emmanuel Obiajulu, Okeke Peter, Obinna Sunday, Oneka Amba, Chisom Anthonoy Ekwenze, Okeyea Azubike, Anuyarah Ojuyemena Daniel, Anuruka Jinika Francis, Luke and Domado Chinedo.

Their Bangladeshi assistant has been identified as Chadni Akter, who used to help them as a fake customs official, concealing her real identity.

"The leaders of the fraud ring are Osita Okechukwu and Chisom Emmanuel. They used to maintain communication with their Bangladeshi accomplices and distribute the embezzled money among other members of the gang,” said AKM Hafiz Akter, an additional commissioner at DMP's Detective Branch.

"The other members of the gang swindled people out of huge amounts of money with promises of expensive gifts and investment after developing a virtual friendship with fake Facebook ID as an American or European citizen.”

A dollar ‘trick’ machine, 17 phones, two laptops, chemical bottles and copies of warrants in various cases have been seized from their possessions.

In addition to Chadni, several Bangladeshi citizens are involved with the gang, Hafiz said, adding that legal action has been taken against the gang members.

The law enforcers have launched a manhunt to trace out other criminals, he added.
The problem with Yoruba is that they don't take responsibility.

Drug-related offence outside the country are led by SE, anything wire wire is Yoruba soft work, Northerners are into terrorism financing while Edo leads in trafficking.

Copying and pastig all these epistles wont change that.

Yorubas should learn to accept their short comings.

No tribe is perfect.

Most of these were produced locally in Aba before the war, earning the city the name "Japan of Africa"

During the war, most of the industries were destroyed, while others left, leaving the burdent of serving the entire nation on the industries in West and North.

To bridge the gap, Igbos moved into heavy importation, bringing better goods at more affordable prices.

The proceed were used to rebuild the cities Yoruba and Hausa ancestors totally destroyed, today SE has leveled up as if they didn't even fight any war, with villages more beautiful than Yoruba villages that didnt fight any war.

By fighting Ndi Igbo, they destroyed their economy and they are now online on Nairaland crying.

When Igbo, Yoruba, Northern Industried were operational, Nigeria was a net exporter, with a currency stronger than dollar.

But hatred destroyed everything.

Yoruba ancestors gave Igbos 20 pounds to start afresh and today, the descendants of those who fought war now live in better houses than the descendants of the invaders, who cling onto Lagos, a former capital to have something to brag about.

Hatred doesn't pay.
