Hello Jeremy,

I didn’t get a response from you again. I’m guessing you’re occupied since then. Get back to me when you can. Thanks.

jnyuwa02:

Yes, you can secure MSC admission with a low GPA, even a second class lower or no university degree at all. They call it special admissions at some schools. Requires at least 6 years of working experience in the field you desire to study in. That said, I think the way you can convince the VO that PGD/C is a valid option for you is to show that a masters is not available in your area of study or that the PGD you are going for is very specialized and will offer you the same job opportunity as a masters. VOs do not buy all these low GPA arguments as why you decided to go for a PGD. Because that only begs the question that if you were not able to do well in Nigeria, why do you think you would do well in Canada, a more difficult, complicated and academically more demanding setting? They just mark you down when you do the low GPA argument.

Ok bro. I will send it. Thank you very much!

Send again. But realize I am very busy if I don't get back to you immediately.

Bro please let me send you a mail for SOP review. I have done that in the past - not just you but also to other gurus and yet no response from anyone. Please help a brother. God bless

jnyuwa02:

Exactly! That is why daycare is there. If you have a viable plan in place and the financial ability to take care of your children while in school, It is not a problem with VOs approving your visa. That is how Nogen won her visa. Personally I don't advice people to leave their children behind as home ties, when a husband can fufil the same role as home ties. The bond of a mother and child is one of the strongest known to man, most mothers can't stand separation with their children and rightfully so. Leave your children behind only if you don't have the money to cater for them in Canada as the cost of such care is very expensive, almost like the care of an adult. $10k a year.

I’ve recieved my gcms notes and attached is what it says.

Now my question is this; if I change my course of study to have a connection with my degree and somewhat represents a logical progression in studies, have I addressed the issue of Purpose Of Study? Bearing in mind that there are cases of VO’s finding another reason to deny an application even after one addresses his/her first refusal reason.

Secondly, my sponsor in my first application- my dad, passed away recently and now, I’m thinking of re-applying again with my mom as sponsor. Surely there’ll be lump sum of money in her account. How can I possibly address that? Although she will include the source in her sponsorship letter. Is that enough?

I have a degree in Civil Engineering ( Water Resources Engineering option)

I’ve been working as a project manager for a private firm the past 2 years.

Applied for PGC in Project management (professional) Winter 2018.

Now, I want to reapply for PGC in Environmental Management and Assessment - which was my final year project topic. Spring 2018.

Does this represents a logical progression?

‘Cause honestly, I think this will be my last shot and if my reapplication fail to fly for Spring 2018, I will then focus on going to Ireland ( already working on that for Fall 2018).

Kindly assist me guys. Thank you and God bless y’all .

Sent you a mail boss. Not sure you’ve received it. Check and let me know. Thank you.

Google universities in Canada and begin to read on the courses you are interested in and their GPA and scholarship requirements. There is more that goes into getting scholarship than just GPA. Your recommendations, statement of intent, thesis proposal, all equally count. Best of luck!

Bro, can I send to you my SOP for review?
Thanks!

Austinpee4:

The emergence and surge in applications in recent time from Nigerians using the study permit route for other purposes and previous events of the past in this light must have led to these stringent scrutiny of applications. Surprisingly,it's still unclear how they reach their conclusions on some erroneous decision even when there is clear evidence that proposed course of study is logical within the applicant's career path, sufficient funds etc.

Maybe the discretion officers have is playing major role than the provisions of the IRP acts and regulations. 'Satisfying the officer'..... Just maybe!

On the other hand and with the way and manner in which some applicants present their overall situation through the study permit application, it makes it easy for officers to reach conclusions that such applicants will not leave Canada at the end of authorized stay.

Trying too hard to prove something is one major aspect people should pay attention to. Over analyzing is another, Poorly written SOP and choice of program are some of the things that would possibly raise their suspicion the purpose of visit.

Even if the onus is on each applicant to satisfy the VO, Officers still have it upon themselves to see through the intent and determine which application meet the requirements and worthy of their discretion. It's just what it is. They were employed and trained to deliver on this.

Canada's immigration for "High risk" countries is also burdened on the circumstances surrounding the economic and social-political situation of the applicants and their countries of citizenship. Afteral and most often, the decision to travel to Canada for study from applicants from these countries is framed from a premise to get a better quality of education or living aside the standard provided in their countries.

It's only unfortunate the situation. Prior event(s) of the applicant preceding an application in my opinion plays a significant role than the proposed purpose. However, i'm still of the opinion that a simple application meeting the laid down requirements, less complicated and with a good profile stand a high chance of the VO's nod.

We just have to do all we have to do cogently and completely while also showing that the primary intention is to study.

I'll advice you change course to something else....as a project manager a PGD in that is not helpful....you just need either PRINCE 2 or PMP...so look for something that helps improve your flexibility.

Thanks. I sent you a pm

I just picked up my passport. I was refused based on purpose of visit only.

Other reasons: your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: your qualifications, previous studies, employment, level of establishment, or your future prospects and plans.

BEng Civil Engineering (Water resources engineering option) 2013
GPA: 2.2
NYSC 2014
I've been working as a Project Manager from 2015 till date for a Private firm.
PGC- Project Management - Algonquin College
Paid for first semester
Dad's SOA- 13M
Personal SOA- 1.6M
SOP - from what I've read here, I didn't explain much.

Anyways, I have requested for my GCMS file. I'll wait to know what to address.

Hi guys,

I'm new here. I just came across this page and I seek advice from the gurus because I have no idea how to go about this. To be honest, my main aim is to leave Nigeria and have a better life somewhere. I've tried Canada once and my application was denied. I don't want to try again. So I prefer to change my focus to Australia which I believe is a good option for me too. Here's my profile;

BEng Civil Engineering (water resources engineering option) Graduated in 2013
NYSC 2014
Currently work as a Project Manager in a private company from 2015- till date.

I applied for Master of Engineering (professional) at Deakin University and was offered admission. Looking at the tuition fees for the 2 years course, it's quite high but I have funds to cover the first semester. But since my main aim is to get a PR, find a good job and work there. I am bothered because I read somewhere that there's no guarantee that you will get the job that will help you to gain experience so that you can apply for PR. I don't know what I should do at this point because sometimes stress in Nigeria mentally breaks you down and you feel you're not doing well for yourself.

Help a brother out with the best advice on how to achieve my aim.

I just tracked my application now and this is the information I found "Visa application, tracking ID No.20170831CA.............– Your processed passport has been dispatched from the Canada Visa Office ACCRA , on 05/10/2017 to the Canada Visa Application Centre. To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website"

And from what I've read on here, doesn't sound good. No medical call nor mail about this. I guess I will just go ahead now and apply for my gcsm file and try again.

Good Gcms question. What is integrated search done? The other day I was looking at somebody's Gcms notes, it also said online presence performed. Are these people looking on social media? I know the other answers, but I will let others chip in first.

Waiting for the gurus to discuss this.

I've been a silent reader for awhile now. Found out about this thread after I submitted my application on Aug 31th. I'll say reading peoples profile (most who were delayed/denied and few approved) while comparing it to mine, in all honest I feel I stand no chance. That's just a feeling and no matter how much I try to let it go and remain confident, I can't help it. Although people close to me are very confident and I wish I could say the same too. But anyway, I will keep believing in God because from my observations it seems getting an approval is only by his grace.

I'm feel defeated already. Submitted my student visa permit application on Thursday and I just found out this morning in a separate envelope that the guy that works at the VFs office omitted my sponsor's letter. I don't think I stand a chance now and I don't know what to do. Im literally crying right now.
