MufasaLion:Well I guess she has the money but maybe on a better game. That game isn't honestly that good. And if I ever told my parents those days, they would just laugh at me. Maybe once I start earning money by myself, I would buy something online myself and see how it feels |
HRHQueenPhil:But still that feels like a lot. Even back when I used to play the game, I always asked my parents for even the smallest price, they wouldn't. I'm not saying it's bad to buy things in a game online but still maybe not so expensive |
Hello again So for the Easter holidays coming up I decided to go to my aunt's house after a long time. Now her children, a girl and a boy, both in SS1 and JSS2 respectively, have a computer each in their house. They also have unlimited internet connectivity Now because of this, they usually play an online game called Roblox. This game used to be interesting to me back when I was younger but it is no longer either because I got older or the game just got boring In this game, there is this in-game currency called Robux that you buy with real money (prices attached below). You use this Robux for buying special features in the game. Now my aunt bought £18.49 worth of this Robux for her son (I think the girl doesn't play the game anymore) which is about #10,000 Now this got me a little upset because I could think of 1001 things I could use that money for instead of buying a currency in a game that isn't even worth it Now I want to ask this question, would you purchase anything that costs this much in an online game for your children?

Casalindal:I thought that you didn't read the mails sent to you, that the men were in your prison :/ |
JOACHINpedro:What is that? |
AishaYesufu:It's not fake. I can show you our chats. I don't have time to be making up fake stories this long |
So just to give a quick background, let's call this girl Esther So back when I was in secondary school, during my JSS1 and JSS2, I was in a federal government unity school. I was the kind of person that usually minds my own business and rarely talked to that girl So one day, during a class in JSS2, I was sitting down and writing notes, I remember vividly it was a Yoruba class. She came to meet me that she wanted to use the toilet, she was having stomach ache and that I should help her and hold her glasses Now there are a few things: I've NEVER ever talked to that girl in the time I spent in that school; Out of all the people in that class, why me?; And couldn't she just take the glasses to the toilet? Of course she didn't answer me, dropped the glasses on my desk and left. I just ignored that and carried on with my note writing Few minutes later, one stupid boy decided to disturb me and I got angry and shouted at him. The teacher heard us and told us to kneel down in front of the class till the end of the period The period ended, it was break time, I carried my notes and left. I didn't see the glasses at the time so I thought she had carried them because many people were going in and out (It was a combined class and federal school students are always much) Later, after break time, Esther came to meet me for her glasses. I told her I wasn't with it thinking she had taken it. She started crying and I was looking for the glasses like a mad man. For like the first week of the glasses getting missing, she was just crying and I started feeling bad and looking for them more and more After the first week she suddenly started threatening me that if I didn't find her glasses, she would report me to her guardian (her guardian was the assistant to the Vice Principal Admin so I was terrified) I was honestly scared and didn't know how to defend myself at the time. I managed to avoid her for two months (This was hard because it was a boarding school but easy since the school was big) I was cornered once and I got to her guardian's office. She reported me to him but fortunately the man was busy and without any proof, he couldn't do anything This got her more frustrated and she started demanding money from me. Money that my parents had given my guardian to give me. This saddened me and in my already terrified state, I started giving her Don't blame me but I was just an 11 year old boy at the time with no self confidence. All my life I've lived in the same place and went to the same private primary school so I didn't know what to do in situations like this To cut an already long story short, I gave her money, some days I would go hungry but she didn't even care. If I resisted, she would threaten me. I even noticed at a time she would borrow money from her friends and use me to pay back I was just a thin, hungry, young boy and once very smart, I started deteriorating in my studies. My parents noticed this plus other things and decided to remove me from school that year. I also went through a lot of other mentally traumatizing things at a young age but that's a story for another day ................................................................... Over five years later, I graduated with one of the best results in BECE and WAEC in my new private secondary school (The BECE one really shocked me because I was really undedicated in my studies during JSS1 and 2) Esther sent me a friend request on Facebook and after contemplating, I accepted it. We chatted for a few minutes and she told me she was sorry for everything she did back then and I actually thought she was remorseful so I forgave her Then she started behaving stupidly. She told me to buy credit for her. I told her I don't have credit myself and I don't have any money. She said I should tell my parents to buy for me and send to her, but she's using MTN and I'm using Airtel. She said I should lie to my parents that I want to use the money for something else This shocked me because I can't lie to buy credit for myself, talkless of some stupid girl. I really wanted to abuse this girl because as I am now, I'm even using free mode to type this. I just played it off calmly and she proceeded with her dumb attitude. She started saying "Sebi your parents are rich". This got me triggered and I decided not to answer this girl again. After everything she put me through, she still had the audacity to say this to me If anyone has any questions about my write-up, I'll answer. Sorry it's so long |
1beat:Thanks for the advice |
stanliwise:Not really. She's alright but I don't really like her that much |
Hello again Nairaland Now a few days ago, I created a thread on what to do because of my attitude to girls. That post didn't get much attention probably because of the time it was posted Now recently there's this girl I know of that has been behaving in a kind of way to me. If I'm passing by her, she'll make sure that I notice her. Also, during classes, she usually sits down beside me. When I just try to ignore her, she'll usually tap me to make sure that I know she's there I could also just be passing by with some other people and she'll just get my attention and wave at me, and me not trying to be rude, I wave back but it always makes me feel somehow (probably because I'm not used to being mutual to girls) So I want you guys to tell me maybe she likes me or she's just being friendly |
ebenezer880:Did you now have to bring it back to the top of the romance page :/ |
I want you guys on this platform to advise me. I have this problem, or maybe a habit of not being nice to girls. It's not that girls don't like me or anything like that, but when a girl tries to talk with me on something, I just say some stuff that is really rude and not nice to that girl I really try not to do this but it seems I just have another spirit inside me that pushes me to do it. Like just yesterday, a girl messaged me "How far" and she hasn't offended me before but for no particular reason, I just messaged her "Don't greet me" and went offline It seemed funny to me at first but after some time, I thought of it and realized how bad that was. But one thing about that girl is that she is nice and just waved it off as nothing. I don't really want to create a long story so I'll stop here and ask you guys on what to do about this I'll go to sleep now and read your replies in the morning ![]() |

I've been thinking of starting a business as a Website Designer. I have all the necessary tools and equipment but I'm not really sure of the profits I don't want a situation whereby I would make a website for someone and I'll be the one running at a loss. I understand there are domain costs and others but I don't want to be running at a low profit. Can someone please enlighten me on this? |

Police are on the lookout for a man who allegedly strangulated his five-year-old daughter to death on Saturday as he was angry with his wife for not giving him money to buy alcohol. According to the police, A David Ishola, the accused, his wife Esther Ishola, and their two daughters - Tioluwani, 8, and Mary, 5 - lived at Abeokuta David Ishola was an alcoholic and worked as a watchman at a residential building while his wife worked as a domestic help in the neighbourhood. The accused used to spend all his earnings on alcohol and would often harass his wife to give him money to buy alcohol. David Ishola would even assault his wife if she would refuse to give him money to drink. On Friday night, David allegedly returned home in an inebriated condition and demanded money from his wife for alcohol. When she refused to give him money, he quarrelled with her, after which they went to sleep. On Saturday morning, Esther, his wife got the daughters ready for school and asked David to drop the girls off to their school. She then left for work. Around 9.45 am, when his wife returned home for a break, she found Mary lying on the bed, while her husband was not at home. She immediately informed her brother, who stays close by. Her brother told her that David had called him and asked him to drop Tioluwani off to school. When they found Mary motionless, they rushed her to a hospital, where the doctors declared her dead on arrival and noticed injuries on her neck. The police at have registered a murder case and started an investigation. Police suspect that David did not harm the elder daughter as she was close to both parents. Further investigation is underway. |
This random thought came to my mind today and I was wondering if anyone here could answer it So let's say a young guy has a girlfriend, and he usually has sex with her, and at the same time, the guy's biological father is also having sex with the girl ![]() Later the girl becomes pregnant and the father and the son are the only suspects, is a DNA test going to detect the real owner of the baby since both father and son have the same DNA or is there slight differences in the DNA? Don't mind my curiosity ![]() |
NairalandSARS:I think that the first 13 threads were probably deleted and Nairaland doesn't re-use thread numbers |
I found the first ever thread on Nairaland that was not created by Seun. I'll leave a link to the thread below and how I found it Basically, if you create a thread on Nairaland, the thread URL comes with a number which is possibly the thread number (e.g This thread is https://www.nairaland.com/6386722 meaning it's the 6386722nd thread created) So I tried by typing in the search box nairaland.com/1 but it took me back to the main page. I also tried the same method for nairaland.com/2 all the way to 13 but none of them gave me a result. I typed in nairaland.com/14 and it finally gave me a result. It was a thread about Family Relationships way back in 2005. This could possibly be the first thread of Nairaland not created by Seun himself. You can check it out by yourself www.nairaland.com/14 |
I've been seeing a lot of trends in and out of Nairaland about this Twitter account called "Tracy Zille" who apparently is an European woman that has been abusing Africa in different tweets. I decided to make a research on the account and this is what I found out The account was created in June 2020 and has been tweeting hurtful and racist tweets about Africa. The first media outrage started in South Africa and this was what happened Jean Le Roux, a research associate with the Digital Forensic Research Lab (DFRLab), claims that it’s a fake account and there’s one person behind the image of a white woman named Tracy Zille, benefiting financially from the outrage of hurtful and distressing tweets. WHO IS THE REAL TRACY ZILLE? According to intensive research done by Le Roux and the team, it’s suggested that an Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) official is behind the contentious account. Posting the research to Twitter, Le Roux captioned it saying: “Earlier this week, #TracyZille was propelled to the top of SA’s trending lists by her controversially racist tweets. My investigation for @DFRLab tracked down the man making money from the account: a government official and EFF councillor from Makhado.” According to Le Roux, the despicable tweets were designed to spark outrage, which it no doubt did. The main aim of this account was to get popular and post websites to its tweets. If you were to open these websites, you will be bombarded with ads, so basically he was just getting ad revenue and trying to get rich. So who is this EFF official? Well, according to Le Roux, all signs, arrows and magnets point to Anthony Matumba, who is allegedly employed by the Makhado Local Municipality in Limpopo. “Matumba has registered multiple websites in his name, which he monetised using Google’s AdSense,” said Le Roux. “In order to drive traffic to these sites and increase the ad revenue they generated, several Twitter accounts spammed links to the websites, mostly in reply to prominent Twitter personalities. One of these accounts, @TracyZille, quickly rose to dubious prominence due to the racist tweets it put out in late June 2020,” he added. TWEETS FROM THE CONTROVERSIAL ACCOUNT The tweets that arose from the Tracy Zille account are defamatory and racially insensitive, to say the least. Here are some of the things, the account tweeted around last year: “Funny how Blacks complain about how banks give them loans for cars but don’t want to give them business and house loans. Listen here, they are not your banks. Build your own banks & stop complaining. U are the only race in the world without a major bank.” “Jesus Christ was a Whiteman. He didn’t have even a single Black disciple from the 12. He didn’t heal even a single Black person in the Bible. He died without setting a foot in Africa. If Jesus Christ died for Blacks why are they suffering in Africa and working for us Whites?” A link to Le Roux’s detailed research for DFRLab can be found here: https://medium.com/dfrlab/government-official-monetized-racial-tensions-on-south-african-social-media-d99b9f2b3995

You see yourself shouting “God when” on so many social media posts, admiring the many love stories and pictures. However, your own love life seems to be in a state of chaos. You have made efforts to ensure you have a better love life but it all seems to be futile. Often, most people want intimacy but always fail at it. Most people are afraid of being alone and at the same tome afraid of intimacy. Below are some reasons and ways to tell you are afraid of intimacy. It is possible you are not aware you are. 1. Your actions are different from your intentions The way we create distance in a relationship is different for each of us and is typically heavily informed by our attachment history. A person with a dismissive-avoidant attachment pattern may be aloof toward the needs of another person, in particular a romantic partner. This attitude might often be as a result of past relationships, heartbreaks or even family history. A person who was neglected while growing up might find it difficult to show love to a romantic partner. Getting to know our attachment history can offer us tremendous insight into our patterns and understanding of our behaviors. Yet, as we’re examining our relationships in real-time, it’s valuable to identify the moments when our actions don’t match our idea of what we want. You can tell someone you love them and your action says otherwise. When this happens, your partner might pull away while you keep wondering what the issues are. 2. Your feelings always shift There are some people who get tired of relationships and suddenly change their behaviours towards their partner. One minute, you are on a date with someone, laughing and feeling a sense of excitement, the next morning you are second-guessing and talking yourself out of your feelings. This is often because being connected to someone else also connects us to our fears around loss and the pain of not having felt that love in the past. 3. You always find excuses for your bad behaviours When your partner points out issues in the relationship, you always have an excuse or a reason for being difficult. Once you constantly find excuses, it becomes difficult to apologise and this will subsequently affect your relationship. Instead of running away from the major issues, it is important to face them, they also help you get better. The more we understand our fear of intimacy, exploring its source and challenging the behaviors it inspires, the more we can grow and develop in ourselves and our relationships. We can expand our capacity to give and receive love. And we can enjoy the lasting closeness and connection we say we want

Nigerian Pop Singer, David Adeleke popularly called Davido has sparked a train of reactions on Twitter after talking about quitting music. “I go leave this music for una,” Davido tweeted on Monday. Although, the FEM crooner has yet to reveal why he is considering leaving music, his tweet has caused a Twitter storm with his name dominating trends. Many of his fans in reaction pleaded with him not to consider quitting his music career as he has many hits to his name. Some others were indifferent as they compared his music with Burna Boy and Wizkid. |
Lol how do I edit the topic? I realized I said "Burns" instead of Burna |
A video allegedly showing Davido and Burna Boy clashing at a club in Ghana recently hit the internet, leaving fans confused as to why the two singers have beef. A nine second YouTube clip showing Davido and Burna Boy allegedly angrily leaving a club in Ghana has sparked a conversation on the history of their beef. And, as it turns out, the beef started in 2019, around the time when Burna Boy was announced to be up for a Grammy award. WHO ARE BURNA BOY AND DAVIDO? Both Davido and Burna Boy are singers and rappers from Nigeria. They are currently considered as the two most popular artists in and from Africa. They have had a long-standing friendship where there is proof of the two musicians celebrating each other’s successes. Burna Boy has even been seen at a Davido gig. HISTORY OF THE BEEF EXPLAINED The beef allegedly began in the autumn of 2019, when Burna Boy was nominated for a Grammy award for Best World Music Album for ‘African Giant’. Glimpses of a fued were not evident yet since Davido congratulated his friend for his nomination. Fast forward to after the Grammy’s, where Burna Boy lost out to Beninese singer Angelique Kidjo, and he became quiet on social media for a while. His return to the online world was marked by his now-deleted reply to a Twitter user claiming that Burna Boy had his success handed to him. In summary, Burna Boy hit back at the hater saying that no one paved the way for him and subtly fired shots at his peers that no one in his industry cared. Many Twitter users agreed saying that he is a trailblazer in his own right and there was no clarification on who Burna Boy was directing his tweets at specifically. Three months later, Davido announces the release of his new album at the start of May, A Better Time, which was set to arrive in July 2020. The first glimpse of beef happened when Burna Boy posted a black screen with the message, “JULY will be very funny, and I shall laugh accordingly” on social media, suggesting to his fans that he will be ridiculing Davido’s new album. After the post, Davido tweeted an edited photo of him and fellow Nigerian singer Wizkid, captioned “The 2 greatest of all time! No cap” In response, Burna Boy questioned Davido’s success by claiming that he owes his achievements to his billionaire father. The message still did not mention Davido by name: “you cannot play football, everybody knows you cannot play football and you are an embarrassment to the team. But your daddy bought the football team”. Fans believed that Burna Boy’s song ‘Way Too Big’ from his August 2020 album ‘Twice as Tall’ was directed at Davido with the lyrics, “I’m way too big to be f***ing with you”. Diss tracks and subtle messages are common in the music world when there is beef , such as the feud between Stormzy and Wiley. In his track ‘FEM’ which is Yoruba slang for ‘shut up’, Davido addresses Burna Boy directly in the line, “Then Odogwu say we like to party just call me…” – ‘Odogwu’ and ‘Like to Party’ are both names of a Burna Boy song. ARE BURNA BOY AND DAVIDO STILL BEEFING? Since then, there has not been much from either musicians but the latest video showing the two apparently shouting at each other while leaving the club has sparked news that they are still on bad terms.
