APC Aspirant Breaks Down in Tears After Allegedly Spending ₦10 Million on Imo Primary — Ticket Reportedly Given to Woman “Who Never Bought Form” Fresh controversy has erupted within the All Progressives Congress in Imo State after an unnamed aspirant from Ahiazu Mbaise publicly accused the party of rigging its State House of Assembly primary election process. The visibly emotional aspirant, whose video has now gone viral across X and other social media platforms, alleged that despite spending more than ₦10 million on nomination and expression of interest forms, the party allegedly handed the ticket to another aspirant who never purchased any form. In the emotional clip, the man lamented what he described as “criminality” within the primary process, claiming that six aspirants paid for forms and participated in the race, only for the ticket to allegedly be awarded to Doris Anyanwu. According to him, the woman was never part of the original contestants who bought forms for the Ahiazu Mbaise constituency primary. “This is criminality! I spent over ₦10 million. They skipped all six of us who bought forms and gave it to somebody who didn’t buy anything,” the aspirant cried out in the viral video while displaying his academic degree certificate. He also alleged that beyond the official nomination and expression of interest fees, aspirants were subjected to multiple unofficial payments and “facilitation” demands throughout the process. The aspirant vowed not to accept the outcome quietly and called on party leaders to intervene and investigate the matter. The allegations have triggered widespread debate online, with many Nigerians pointing to the incident as another example of the high cost, lack of transparency, and alleged godfather influence often associated with Nigerian politics. However, the Imo State chapter of the APC has denied the allegations. In a statement issued by Prince Uwalaka Chimaroke, the party described the complainant as a “disgruntled aspirant” and insisted that the State House of Assembly primaries were conducted transparently using a direct primary system. According to the party, all winners emerged through votes cast by accredited party members, dismissing claims of imposition or manipulation. The incident has nonetheless reignited criticism about the financial burden of contesting elections in Nigeria, where party nomination forms for legislative positions often cost millions of naira. https://tell.ng/apc-aspirant-breaks-down-in-tears-after-allegedly-spending-%E2%82%A610-million-on-imo-primary-ticket-reportedly-given-to-woman-who-never-bought-form/ |
sirchim:His supporters say he is a master strategist. But Nigerians have seen where his ‘master strategy’ has led Nigeria...to the number one spot in global extreme poverty ranking |
It's the southern turn Heading into 2027, one thing is crystal clear: Tinubu is the least desired candidate in the race and the most unpopular sitting president in Nigeria’s history. The man is seeking re-election without campaigning on results because there are no results to campaign with. Nigerians have endured economic hardship, insecurity, and broken promises wrapped in propaganda. This administration hasn’t just failed, it has failed loudly, spectacularly, and miserably |

demstone:Just mention the infrastructures. Is that too difficult? |
Actually, on a more serious note, the 70-year-old senior domestic servant is not just stupid; he is a mád man |

They’ve now resorted to teasing Nigerians. What sacrifice have Tinubu and his VP made? None. It’s only the masses making sacrifices while Tinubu and those around him live in opulence. Thunder 🔥⚡🔥⚡ una there |
Tinubu has spent more time giving excuses and teasing Nigerians than actually fixing the country. Even an APC House member recently begged Nigerians to forgive Tinubu for the untold hardship and deaths his policies have caused... imagine that. if all you offer are excuses and pleas for forgiveness, but no real work, then go home. Nobody is obligated to rule for eight years. If nothing meaningful has been done now, what exactly will Tinubu do in another four years besides waste more time, deepen the country’s debt, inflict more hardship, and worsen the suffering of Nigerians? |
yarimo:Don’t say it can never happen in the south east, of course it can. Leadership doesn’t just fall from the sky. When you live in a community and actively participate in its socio-political activities, people naturally begin to trust and recognize you. That’s how leadership positions come. But when you isolate yourself from the socio-political life of the community you live in, don’t expect leadership positions to come looking for you. Zaccheus Okoro must have actively participated in the community he found himself in, and that is why the people of Ise/Ikere-Ekiti found him worthy of political office, irrespective of his tribe. |

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has urged former Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, and businessman, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, to channel their grievances over the party’s presidential primary through established party structures and statutory electoral processes. Naija News reports that the party said the aspirants should avoid making public allegations while the collation of results from the nationwide direct primary was still ongoing. The ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, stated this on Tuesday while speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today. Abdullahi said there was currently no evidence to support claims that the presidential primary was rigged in favour of former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar. He noted that since collation had not been concluded, it was too early to confirm or dismiss the allegations raised by some aspirants. Abdullahi stated, “We currently do not have sufficient evidence to either support or dismiss those claims. Since the results are still being collated, we have not observed any clear pattern that would substantiate such allegations. “At this stage, we do not have enough information to conclusively say whether the allegations are true or false. We expect to have a clearer picture by the end of the day.” The ADC conducted a nationwide direct primary on Monday to select its presidential candidate for the 2027 general election. Although the party had yet to officially announce final results from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (ADC) as of press time, early figures showed Atiku leading. Amaechi was in second position, while Hayatu-Deen was in third place. Abdullahi said the ADC had established internal and statutory mechanisms to address complaints arising from the exercise. He urged aggrieved aspirants to use the available channels to seek redress. ADC Dismisses Factional Claims The ADC spokesman also reacted to reports of a parallel faction within the party, saying the leadership was not disturbed. According to him, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recognises the current National Working Committee as the legitimate body conducting the party’s congresses and primaries. “The party leadership is not disturbed by the claims. INEC is fully aware of who is conducting the legitimate convention of the African Democratic Congress, and under the law, the genuine organisers are clearly recognised,” he said. Abdullahi said INEC officials had monitored all stages of the ADC’s electoral processes. “INEC has attended and monitored all our congresses and primary elections across the 36 states and the FCT. Every stage of the process has been fully documented by INEC officials,” he said. He expressed confidence that electoral officials would continue to be present at the collation centre, adding that the party had no concerns about legitimacy or oversight https://www./2026/05/27/adc-reacts-amaechis-accusation/ |
Adewole Adebayo: Tinubu Wants To Act As Chairman Of INEC, Part-Time Chief Justice Of Nigeria Social Democratic Party presidential candidate, Adewole Adebayo, has accused President Bola Tinubu of attempting to interfere in opposition political parties and undermine democratic competition ahead of the 2027 general election. Speaking in an interview on ARISE News on Tuesday, Adebayo alleged that the president was trying to control activities within opposition parties while also influencing institutions meant to remain independent. “You can’t be candidate general of the opposition. You have to stick to your own party,” Adebayo said. “The president wants to belong to every political party, also act as the chairman of INEC, and the part-time chief justice of Nigeria.” Adebayo made the remarks while responding to questions about reported divisions within the SDP and claims by another individual Akinbola Atanda that he was also a presidential candidate of the party. The SDP candidate dismissed the claim, insisting that the party did not recognise Atanda as a member or aspirant. “We don’t know him in the SDP. We don’t know him,” he said. “Well, I could say I’m the Pope, but I’m not. You see, the Catholics know who’s the Pope.” Adebayo further accused the Tinubu administration of attempting to weaken opposition parties through alleged political interference. “I know President Tinubu is the author of all of this drama,” he said. According to him, the ruling APC was unwilling to allow open political competition. “The whole idea is not to have competition,” Adebayo said. “And they want to master that by having pseudo candidates in other political parties and have a coronation.” He also criticised the conduct of APC primaries, claiming the governing party was only pretending to hold democratic contests. https://www.arise.tv/adewole-adebayo-tinubu-wants-to-act-as-chairman-of-inec-part-time-chief-justice-of-nigeria/ |

But his supporters say he “improved” the economy, that Nigeria would have collapsed without him. After making Nigerians too poor to afford school fees, he now offers loans through NELFUND. He built the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, etc. According to Tinubu and his supporters, these are not mistakes. They are “painful but necessary” steps ... painful but necessary baby steps Nigerians must endure so the country does not collapse. So why then should he be forgiven |
