Okoyiboz3:How did you know her tribe |
Overzealousness dey worry Ben Kalu. He's acting like he's the first person to ever become Deputy Speaker. Instead of focusing on his Rep seat and work harder to possibly be considered for the house Speakership in the next election, he's already aiming to contest for the governorship of Abia State against Alex Otti. Let him come contest for governor and test his popularity. The kind beating wey go meet am, e go cry ‘waaaaaaaa!’ Madness! |

…Says Nigeria is a crime scene that needs fixing The 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi, has decried the growing insecurity and hardship across Nigeria, describing the country as a “crime scene” in dire need of repair. Speaking at the public presentation of the book “Obi: The Political Change Agent”, authored by Ike Abonyi, in Abuja on Tuesday, Obi lamented that although Nigeria is not officially at war, many citizens live like refugees, both within and outside the country. “Today in Nigeria, we’re not officially at war, yet Nigerians are living in IDP camps in their own country. Nigerians are refugees in Chad, in Cameroon. And the only reason is because we don’t have a government that cares for them,” he said. Obi urged Nigerians to actively work to “dismantle this crime scene called a country,” warning that the current system is unsustainable and dangerous. “Some people are dancing while the ship is sinking. When it finally goes down, it will consume everyone — rich or poor. I’ve seen this before in places like Beirut and Afghanistan. Crisis does not discriminate,” he warned. He criticized the nation’s priorities, pointing out that while government buildings are being renovated and parties thrown, women continue to die during childbirth and millions of children remain out of school. “We use public resources to paint offices and build mansions, while women die trying to give birth. According to a recent report, one woman dies every seven minutes in Nigeria during childbirth. That’s what we want to dismantle,” Obi stated. The former Anambra State Governor emphasized that many of Nigeria’s problems stem from a lack of leadership and value creation. “Our leaders in government and business are producing poverty. When people hoard money without creating value, they are fueling poverty. A functional economy must be built on the exchange of real value,” he said. On currency devaluation, Obi supported the idea but stressed the need to eliminate corruption first. “Yes, I support removing fuel subsidy, but only after removing the criminality in the system. If we build confidence in the market and clean up corruption, the naira will stabilize. It’s happening in Ghana and Angola — why not here?” He also lamented the collapse of Nigeria’s infrastructure, citing a trip to Kafanchan where he didn’t see a single trailer transporting goods — a sign, he said, of a broken, unproductive economy. “Colonial masters built railways to move goods — cotton, granite, ginger. Today, they’re gone. We have no trains, no trailers, nothing. And we wonder why people are hungry?” Obi called for a new wave of leadership, especially in the National Assembly, urging voters to elect leaders who are committed to peace and service rather than personal gain. “We must not allow people who want to make money from politics. If that’s your goal, you are part of the problem,” he declared. “This time, we will vote. The votes will count. We will be everywhere.” Obi ended his remarks by thanking supporters and urging them to remain committed to the cause of national transformation. Earlier, Professor Sam Amadi, former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), described Peter Obi as the ideal leader to spearhead a necessary democratic revolution. “A successful revolution is defined by democratic civilization and democratic diplomacy. Peter Obi possesses the profile, pedigree, personality, and passion to lead this change,” Amadi said. He noted that while Nigeria’s challenges are vast, they can be overcome with the right leadership, commitment, and collective sacrifice. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/06/were-not-at-war-but-nigerians-are-refugees-peter-obi/ |

Putindbutt: ![]() Easy man |
Sheuns:Absolutely A notorious drunkard, always getting drunk on forty-year-old whiskey, and a loquacious, loud-mouthed fellow claiming to be a media aide. Like attracts like. |
DeJoeee:Absolutely |
Misterone:Did you take note of the results that was achieve through his interventions |
helinues:I won't engage you on this IGR issue again until you show proof of how much Tinubu saved for Lagos state at the end of his tenure At the bold, below is Peter Obi response to it. Take your time and read it and get enlightened "It’s an issue I don’t want to discuss, our hospitals were not functioning, we tried to fund health facilities, it wasn’t working, there was strike in education too, we tried to fund our secondary schools and primary schools, it wasn’t working, so we decided that we have to have alternatives when I got to Anambra State, there was no single school of nursing that was accredited, no school of midwifery, no school of health technology – all these were not there." “The hospitals were in bad conditions, same was the schools, we were putting money and we were not seeing the results, even bought ambulances, they disappeared, so I said no, we have to have an alternative. So we returned schools to the churches, the original owners, and say ‘we will fund you and of course, we saw the results, we moved from number 26 to number 1. The same thing happened with the hospitals, we built 10 schools of nursing, midwifery, and health technology but not through government “For example, in Iyienu being owned by Church of Nigeria, they have the school of nursing, school of midwifery and school of health technology, we funded and resuscitated it and it was accredited, we went to Onitsha, Waterside being owned by the catholic church and Borromeo, their schools of nursing, school of midwifery, we resuscitated it, they were accredited and are functioning now. “We went to St. Joseph Adazi, their school of nursing, school of midwifery, school of health technology we resuscitated it and it’s working. We went to Our Lady of Lourdes in Ihial, school of nursing, school of midwifery, school of health technology, we resuscitated it and it’s functional. “We even worked with one of the Church of Nigeria bishops that were very committed in health issues, Bishop Ikeakor, and set up in Amichi Hospital, we built school of nursing, school of midwifery and school of health technology, these are schools that are there. “So, in doing this, I had issues with the established bodies because they saw it that I was now doing things to the private sector. For me, the result was important and that was the issues “During my governorship, I had strikes with teachers, doctors, different groups, but it was trying to change them from being what they used to be to what it should be. When you bring change, you will have enemies – all those who live off the old order, he added. |
Ikaeniyan0:Not until you show proof how much Tinubu saved for Lagos state at the end of his tenure |
The PDP should zone it to the South and give it to him. Let him go and challenge Tinubu in the election, let's see his electoral worth nationally |
helinues:If we’re being logical, then let’s follow logic all the way. Obi increased Anambra’s IGR by over 60% during his tenure, from about ₦500 million to over ₦1.2 billion monthly. He also left ₦75 billion in savings with no debt when he left office something your Tinubu can’t boast of Struggled to pay wages? He paid off pensions and salaries without borrowing. Can you say the same for Tinubu’s Lagos that still runs on heavy debt and opaque Alpha Beta deals? Let’s debate with facts, not propaganda. |

RichBoy247:so, his strategy is to humiliate others to get ahead? That's not leadership, that's ego. And now that he's in power, those 'forces on earth' are still there, plus more economic woes. Maybe it's time for a new strategy. |
helinues:For Pete's sake, Lagos is Nigeria’s commercial capital with seaports, oil company HQs, multinationals, and the densest tax base. An Internally Generated Revenue increase there is expected, not miraculous. Comparing Anambra to Lagos is unnecessary and attempts to shift the narrative. Peter Obi didn’t just increase IGR; he did so without borrowing and still left billions in reserves. That’s financial discipline, not noise-making. If Tinubu’s economic prowess is proven, why is the naira in such a sorry state and the economy in doldrums under his presidency? |
helinues:Funny how the ‘strategy’ only worked when the goal was to pull someone else down. Now that it’s time to lead, the silence is louder than the music speakers from Ojota |
Misterone:This is common sense. Peter Obi emphasized 'organized steps' because serious policy requires structure, not just symbolism. Yes, Nigeria isn’t a boardroom, but that’s exactly why decisions affecting millions should be thoughtful and inclusive. Removing subsidies without safety nets or broad consultation wasn’t bold. it was hasty leading to this haphazard way it was implemented. And passing the blame to civil servants after the fallout only highlights the absence of clear leadership. If that sounds off to you, perhaps it’s time we rethink what real governance should look like. |

richmond500:If we’re discussing leadership and integrity, Obi vs your D-lord with forged certificates is very much on topic. Don’t get mad because the facts don’t favour your side. |
richmond500:At least Peter Obi didn’t graduate from a school that didn’t exist. Meanwhile, your D-lord who avoids interviews like a plague claims he attended Government College Lagos in 1970, a full four years before it was founded in 1974. Was he a guinea pig in the school’s test run or just enrolled in the spirit realm? |
richmond500:At least Peter Obi shows up and faces the media that alone is more than we can say for your media-shy president. You want a question and answer? No problem: Q: 'What would you have done regarding fuel subsidy removal?' Obi: 'I’ve consistently maintained that I would remove subsidy, but in an organize manner with steps, not the manner and haphazard way it was announced and implemented Simple. Direct. Coherent, no spokesman, no disappearing act. Next question? |

So he could be this afraid, yet behaves as if he's some Alpha and Omega, as if life and death come from him.I hope this teaches him a few hard lessons: that he is nothing more than a mere mortal |
Factcheck0001:Obi showed up, spoke for himself, and answered every question but your D-lord has barely faced Nigerians unscripted in almost two years. Let’s truly call a spade a spade, starting with who’s been hiding from both the people and the media. |
TheChameleon:She said she didn’t have the money, not that she refused to pay. Does that warrant a life being lost? When did we become this heartless?" |
Quite unfortunate Those responsible for this gruesome act should be brought to book |
