When the PM of St Lucia visited Aso rock a few months ago to see Mr President, he specifically requested Mr President to visit his country to enhance the African bonding and ancestral affinity. Very good of Mr President to reciprocate.

-Kiss the truth!
When Nigerians are crying out for safety, the President's priority shouldn't be 'ancestral bonding'. Leadership is about timing and right now, the only trip Tinubu should be making is to the frontline of Nigeria's insecurity, not a Caribbean courtesy visit.

Now kiss reality

President is in Benue today, the visit is still on the 28th. But as usual, bitter people will open mouth and cry needlessly. They mount on rooftops to cry over any negative news but when terrorists are being killed, they crawl back under their beds.. enemies of the state dem.
You call people “enemies of the state” simply for demanding accountability yet you say nothing when real suffering is ignored. The president is in Benue, yes. Good. But when will he visit the flood victims in Mokwa, Niger State? Or do those lives not matter enough for a presidential visit?

It’s not bitterness to speak out when people are dying or displaced while the nation’s leader vacations abroad. It’s called conscience. If holding leaders accountable makes us “enemies,” then maybe your definition of patriotism is just blind worship of failure. Nigeria deserves better and so do its people

When citizens speak out against misgovernance and irresponsibility, they’re labeled enemies of the state. Meanwhile, your ‘leader’ is vacationing in Saint Lucia while Nigerians are being buried. PoliticsBenue Government Declares Public Holiday Ahead Of Tinubu’s Visit by Ofunaofu(op): 8:25pm On Jun 17, 2025
The Benue State Government has declared Wednesday, June 18, 2025, a public holiday to mark the official visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the state.

DAILY POST reports that Tinubu had announced that he would cut short his schedule to visit Benue State over the recent attacks on the state.

In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Serumun Deborah Aber, the President is expected in the state on a one-day condolence visit to commiserate with the government and people of Benue over the recent spate of violent attacks that have led to numerous deaths.

The government stated that the holiday is intended to give citizens the opportunity to receive the president warmly but clarified that the directive excludes workers in essential services, including medical personnel, security agencies, and banking institutions.

“Residents across the state are encouraged to come out in large numbers to welcome the President and his delegation during what has been described as a significant and symbolic visit,” the statement added

PoliticsRe: Benue Killings: See The Letter Of Mobilization Sent To Welcome The President by Ofunaofu: 7:20pm On Jun 17, 2025
So the people of Benue, a state soaked in tears from years of bloodshed by killer herdsmen, marauding militias, and unanswered cries for justice are now expected to line the streets and welcome the very leadership that met their suffering with silence?

Respectfully, hospitality is earned, not demanded. You cannot ask a people abandoned in pain to celebrate a government that has watched from a distance while they buried their dead. If President Tinubu desires a warm welcome, let him first extend warm concern not in photo-ops, but in real action, justice, and protection.

Shame on those who enabled this wicked government, who cheered it on, who covered for it, who benefitted from it. History will remember their silence and complicity. And may the pain they've helped cause never go unanswered.

Politics2027: We Will Vote Atiku If Shettima Is Dropped – APC Members Threaten by Ofunaofu(op): 6:27am On Jun 17, 2025
...... Crisis rocks Party

Tension gripped Sunday’s All Progressives Congress North‑East stakeholders’ meeting in Gombe after delegates threatened to back former Vice President Atiku Abubakar if current Vice President Kashim Shettima is removed from President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 ticket.

The gathering at the International Conference Centre was intended to reaffirm support for Mr. Tinubu’s second‑term bid, but erupted in chaos when Zonal Vice Chairman Mustapha Salihu concluded his speech without mentioning Shettima. Video footage showed an enraged party member hurling a chair at Salihu as he fled the stage, while another delegate lobbed a plastic bucket in protest.

Salihu had told the audience, “We have no business not supporting this party with all the juicy appointments and responsibilities given to us by this government. I would want all members of the zonal executive committee to stand up so that we will do the proper endorsement, because it is the zonal executive committee that holds the ticket. We want to reaffirm and also adopt the endorsement earlier done by the national working committee, that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is endorsed to be a sole candidate for the 2027 election.”

The omission prompted a chorus of “Shettima! Shettima! Shettima!” and swift intervention by security operatives. “It’s an insult to the entire region that our own son, the Vice President, was not even mentioned,” fumed a Borno delegate. “This is a calculated attempt to sideline Shettima, and we will resist it with everything we have.”

Before the fracas, the governors of Yobe, Borno and Gombe—Mai Mala Buni, Babagana Zulum and Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya—had each voiced their backing for the Tinubu‑Shettima ticket. Governor Yahaya declared, “The North‑East is fully behind the President and the Vice President. Their leadership has brought renewed hope to this region.”

POLITICS NIGERIA learned that Despite that show of unity, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje’s closing remarks failed to quell anger. Though he acknowledged Shettima—“we are proud of his deputy, his Vice President, it is one ticket according to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”—many delegates remained unconvinced and chanted, “No Shettima, no APC in the North‑East.”

Several threatened mass defection to the Peoples Democratic Party. “If Shettima is dropped, I will personally lead my people to vote for Atiku,” warned an Adamawa chieftain. “We won’t be taken for granted.”

The meeting ended abruptly as dignitaries exited amid shouts and chairs being thrown. Outside, police deployed teargas to disperse hundreds of agitated party faithful. An eyewitness, James Abass, warned, “This is more than just a misunderstanding. It’s a sign of serious internal divisions within the ruling party that could trigger mass defections or the rise of a counter‑movement if not urgently addressed.”

A source familiar with the zonal working committee disclosed that all North‑East NWC members—except Mustapha Salihu—had formally supported Tinubu and Shettima. The lone dissenting voice, the source said, was Salihu himself, against four colleagues who backed the joint ticket.

CrimeAccidental Discharge: Policeman Shot Dead By 10-Year-Old Son In Awka by Ofunaofu(op): 8:58pm On Jun 16, 2025
A police inspector, Mr Amaechi Okolie, has been shot dead by his 10-year old son, after he pulled the trigger of a loaded rifle assigned to his father.

The boy also shot his own brother who is the second son of the police inspector, but the victim did not die.

DAILY POST gathered that the incident happened in Awka when the boy who was unaware of the state of the rifle took it and pulled the trigger.

A press statement by the police command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga revealed that while the police inspector was confirmed dead by a medical doctor after he was rushed to the hospital, his second son was still in hospital and responding positively to treatment.

The press statement by Ikenga read: “The Anambra State Police Command has expressed sadness over the unfortunate incident that resulted in the death of Police Inspector Okolie Amechi in Awka.

“The incident, which occurred on the evening of June 15, 2025, was allegedly due to an accidental discharge by his 10-year-old son. The son, unaware of the state of the AK 47 rifle assigned to the Inspector, pulled the trigger and struck the Inspector on the back and his second child on the hand.

“Regrettably, Inspector Amechi was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty at the hospital, while the second victim was said to be responding to treatment.

“Meanwhile, the AK47 rifle has been recovered, while the remains of the deceased have been deposited in the morgue.”

Ikenga said the command while wishing the second victim a quick recovery, condoled with the family and friends of the late Inspector

PoliticsTension In Makurdi As Angry Youths Chase Away Rep’s Cows, Fulani Herders by Ofunaofu(op): 8:16pm On Jun 16, 2025
Tension flared in the Nyorhyungu area of Makurdi, the Benue State capital, on Monday morning as irate youths forcefully drove out a herd of cattle reportedly belonging to Dickson Tarkighir, a member of the House of Representatives representing Makurdi/Guma Federal Constituency.

The chaos followed the arrival of the cows on Sunday evening, accompanied by six Fulani herders and a group of heavily armed escorts.

Eyewitnesses told DAILY POST that the presence of the armed men and strange herders sparked widespread anxiety among residents.

“People couldn’t sleep. There was panic everywhere. We were shocked to see armed escorts with cows parading through our community,” said a resident who requested anonymity.

It felt like an invasion. No one knew what was happening or why they were here.”

By dawn, the community had erupted in protest, with scores of youths taking to the streets to demand the immediate removal of the cattle and their minders.

The protesters, chanting and waving placards, alleged that the presence of the herders posed a security risk, especially in light of recent deadly attacks on farming communities in Benue State.

Tarkighir reportedly arrived at the scene in a bid to calm tensions and explain the situation.

However, his intervention was roundly rejected by the protesters, who insisted that both the cows and their Fulani handlers must leave the area without delay.

The confrontation reached a head when the youths, undeterred by security personnel, began chasing the herd out of the neighborhood, forcing the Fulani herders to flee with them

Imindmybusiness:
Peter Obi should stop preaching to the choir. Nigerians love Tinubu and Tinubu loves them too. Right now, South Africans, Kenyans, Ghanaians, Zimbabweans and many more others are saying on Twitter and Tiktok that they will come to Nigeria in 2027 to help make sure Tinubu wins the next election and continues his good works. If that is not pure love and a sign that Tinubu is a blessing, then convince me. Peter should leave Tinubu alone, he is doing a good job.
If foreigners are lining up to vote in Nigeria's 2027 elections, then it’s not love, it’s either comedy or a serious breach of sovereignty. Last I checked, Kenyans, South Africans, and Zimbabweans have their own struggles and elections to worry about. What Nigerians need is leadership that puts their suffering first not fairy tales of global fan clubs. Peter Obi is speaking to Nigerians, not a choir and certainly not to a delusional audience applauding poverty, inflation, and insecurity. If Tinubu’s love means silence in the face of suffering, then that’s not leadership, it's pure negligence

Show me anywhere in the constitution where it's written that a road must be completely completed before commission. And if you're unable to provide that, then I won't be surprised why you're supporting that Agulu failure because he's far from being a scholar and that shows in his governance and Antecedents grin
No one claimed the constitution mandates roads be fully completed before commissioning, but it's fair to expect that public infrastructure should be functional and not just photo ops.

PoliticsReps Summon Finance Minister, CBN Gov Over Unremitted Surpluses, Audit Violation by Ofunaofu(op): 6:03pm On Jun 14, 2025
The House of Representatives Joint Committees on Public Accounts and Public Assets have summoned the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Olayemi Cardoso, to appear before them on Monday, June 16, 2025.

The invitation follows allegations of non-compliance with the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2007 and concerns raised in the 2021 audit report from the Office of the Auditor General for the Federation, which highlighted serious internal control weaknesses.

In a letter jointly signed by the Chairmen of the Committees—Bamidele Salam (Public Accounts) and Ademorin Kuye (Public Assets)—the lawmakers requested that the officials present details regarding the remittance of operating surpluses to the Federation Account by the CBN, as mandated by existing financial regulations.

Both the Fiscal Responsibility Commission and the Auditor General have in previous reports accused several Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs)—including the Central Bank—of either failing to remit or under-remitting their operating surpluses over the past six years.

“These violations have negatively impacted the liquidity of the federal government and constitute a hindrance to effective implementation of the budgets passed by parliament,” Salam stated.

According to the committees, ample time had already been granted for the Finance Ministry and the apex bank to reconcile their records and present accurate financial positions, prompting the need for a final hearing to resolve outstanding discrepancies.

In addition to the surplus remittance issue, the Committees are also probing claims in the Auditor General’s statutory report which allege that several government-funded projects, though fully paid for, remain uncompleted and unused for years.

“Some of these projects in Dutse, Abeokuta, and other locations were awarded between 2011 and 2016 but yet to be completed according to audit reports,” the statement noted.
