Kogi East Senator, Jibrin Isah, has openly challenged Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, following his loss in the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election. Speaking after the outcome of the primary, Isah alleged that the process was marred by serious irregularities and manipulation. He claimed that electoral officials failed to show up in several wards across Kogi East, preventing voting from taking place in many areas. According to him, this situation was not accidental but a deliberate attempt to frustrate his supporters and influence the final result of the exercise. The senator further accused government agents of hijacking electoral materials meant for the conduct of the primaries. According to Daily Post, he insisted that many party members were denied the opportunity to participate, especially in areas where voting materials and officials were absent. He described the development as unfair and inconsistent with democratic principles within the party. Isah stated that he had remained loyal to the APC leadership and the state governor, adding that he was surprised by what he described as political betrayal. He questioned why he was being sidelined despite his contributions to the party and development projects he said he had executed across Kogi East. In a more confrontational tone, the senator declared that “the battle line has been drawn” between him and the governor. He further alleged that Governor Ododo acted against him due to fears that he intended to contest the governorship seat in the future. Isah concluded by stating that, with the latest developments, he was now prepared to contest the governorship position against Governor Ododo when the opportunity arises, signaling a deepening political rift within the APC in Kogi State. |

Tinubu Came To Steal, Kill And Destroy” – VeryDarkMan Reacts To Oyo School Abduction Social media commentator VeryDarkMan has heavily criticised President Bola Tinubu following the abduction of students and teachers from a secondary school in Oyo State. The activist described Tinubu as a “failure” on security and economic matters, sparking heated reactions online. Social media commentator VeryDarkMan has reacted strongly to the recent kidnapping incident involving students and teachers in Oyo State, blaming President Bola Tinubu’s administration for worsening insecurity across the country. Recall that gunmen reportedly invaded a secondary school in the Ahoro-Esinele community in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State and abducted several students alongside the school principal during school hours. Reacting in a viral video, VeryDarkMan expressed frustration over the growing boldness of kidnappers, questioning the effectiveness of the country’s security system. According to him, the incident reflects the current state of insecurity under the Tinubu-led government. “Tinubu is just here to st3@l, with them kpai us and destroy what we have all worked for in the years,” he said. He further added: “Tinubu is a fa!lure, Tinubu is that reference in the Bible that says the devil is coming to st£al, kp@! and d£stroy. How k!dnapp£rs have gotten the audacity to go into a church school to carry students and teachers. Where’re all the policemen and securities in the state?” The social commentator also criticised the president’s leadership capacity, claiming the administration lacks solutions to Nigeria’s economic and security challenges. “Tinubu doesn’t have the answers because his bra!n is old, he can’t move Nigeria forward, economy wise, security wise, nothing,” he stated. https://www.gistlover.com/tinubu-came-to-steal-kill-and-destroy-verydarkman-reacts-to-oyo-school-abduction/ |

Ibadanfarmroad:What is this Ngige thing you are bringing into this discussion How are they the same? Ngige’s situation and Fubara’s situation are worlds apart. Was a state of emergency declared in Anambra? Were all democratic institutions suspended for six months in clear violation of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria? Was the governor stripped of powers while unelected forces took over governance? No. Ngige was kidnapped during a political crisis, condemnable, yes but Anambra’s democratic structures still stood. Courts functioned, the Assembly existed, and constitutional order remained intact. Fubara’s case is different entirely. Here was a governor who decamped from PDP to APC, the ruling party seeking political protection, only to end up more isolated, publicly humiliated, stripped politically, and denied even the dignity expected of an elected governor. And another thing: did Ngige decamp to the ruling party begging for survival only to still get denied a reelection ticket afterward? No. So how exactly are the two scenarios remotely comparable? The irony is that instead of addressing the constitutional concerns and obvious political humiliation, you will be shouting Obidients because they have no actual argument left. The African Democratic Congress, ADC, yesterday, accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of running what it described as a ‘Ponzi economy’ after the Federal Government moved to secure another $1.25 billion World Bank loan despite Nigeria’s growing public debt estimated at about N159.28 trillion.https://www.vanguardngr.com/2026/05/adc-slams-fg-over-fresh-loan-says-nigeria-running-on-ponzi-economy/

yarimo:My memory served me right. The difference is that you conveniently skipped the part where Fubara was effectively removed from office during the illegal six-month state of emergency in Rivers State, with democratic institutions suspended in clear violation of the Constitution. You claimed to be vast in history and current political affairs in Rivers State, yet you ignored that major detail just to force a comparison with Ngige and Ladoja. Yes, Ngige was kidnapped. Yes, Ladoja was impeached. Those were shameful moments in our democracy. But don’t pretend what happened to Fubara isn’t unprecedented in the Fourth Republic. And next time, before telling people to read history, try not to selectively edit it to serve your skewed narrative |
Desmond Elliott is a beneficiary as well as a victim of Baba sope politics |
If this is true, then I really pity Fubara. He joined the APC hoping for protection, only to be stripped naked and laid bare. I’ve never seen a governor disrespected like this since the beginning of the Fourth Republic. |

El-Rufai Looking More And More Like Political Prisoner He Loses Freedom And Gain Sympathy—Baba-Ahmed In a recent statement via his official X account, the national chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed has criticized the continued detention of former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, saying the situation is beginning to look politically motivated. "So it is possible for the judicial process to keep a citizen in detention from one place to another, facing multiple charges from different sources. Ad infinatum. El-Rufai is looking more and more like a political prisoner. He loses freedom and gains sympathy. Govt loses case and cause," he wrote. In his post, Baba-Ahmed questioned the judicial process that has kept El-Rufai facing different legal battles and repeated detention, he argued that the former governor is being moved from one case to another without gaining freedom despite several court proceedings. According to him, the development is creating a public impression that El-Rufai is no longer being treated like an ordinary citizen facing trial, but like a political target, he warned that prolonged detention and multiple charges from different authorities could damage public confidence in the justice system. Baba-Ahmed stated that the longer the situation continues, the more sympathy El-Rufai may receive from Nigerians, he added that the government could also lose public support if many people begin to see the case as persecution rather than a lawful prosecution. The former federal official stressed that democracy works best when justice is seen to be fair and balanced and noted that citizens should not feel that state institutions are being used to silence political opponents or critics. https://news-af.feednews.com/news/detail/8b4dc40d07baa044daf1b06ea77fc059?client=news
