At this point, everyone seems to work for everyone. But after the election, when the dust settles and a winner emerges, we’ll know who truly works for whom. |
WizardOfNG:You clearly don’t understand what restructuring means, and that’s the irony here. There is no local government autonomy in Nigeria today, what exists on paper is financial autonomy, and even that has not been meaningfully implemented in practice because governors still have enormous control of the entire LGA funds As for regional commissions, how exactly is that restructuring? Nigeria already had the Niger Delta Development Commission and the North East Development Commission long before Tinubu became president. Nobody called those “restructuring” then. So because Tinubu created a South East commission, suddenly it has become restructuring? That logic is as confused as your argument. Restructuring means devolving powers from the centre to the regions/states, policing, resource control, fiscal federalism, constitutional autonomy, not creating more federal agencies controlled from Abuja. You wrote plenty of grammar, but very little political understanding. |
At this point, the Tinubu government should give Peter Obi an award for single-handedly funding Nigeria’s health sector better than the government did in 2025 |
Lithiumite:Atiku will be on the ballot come 2027 |
Tinubu doesn’t know what restructuring means. Tinubu and restructuring are like two parallel lines.....they can never meet. |
Lithiumite:Sorry bro what took the noise from the ADC is the departure of Obi and kwakwaso not the Court cases. Atiku will be on the ballot |
Lithiumite:What is the thing that will make Atiku not to be on the ballot? |

Nyesom Wike’s closed-door meeting with APC Chairman hangs Siminalayi Fubara’s fate Political tensions in Rivers State have intensified following a high-profile visit by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, in Abuja. The meeting, held on Tuesday at the APC chairman’s residence, has sparked widespread speculation across Nigeria’s political landscape, particularly because of its timing and the ongoing crisis involving Rivers State politics. According to Daily Post, observers believe it may be connected to the escalating political struggle in Rivers State, where Governor Siminalayi Fubara is currently facing mounting pressure. Recent developments suggest renewed friction between Fubara and his predecessor, Wike, as loyalists of the governor allegedly suffered setbacks during a recent screening process for the Rivers State House of Assembly. Reports indicate that several aspirants aligned with Fubara were disqualified, fueling fears of a broader political strategy aimed at weakening his influence. The situation has also raised concerns about Fubara’s political future, with speculations circulating that he could face obstacles in securing a platform for re-election under the APC structure. Wike, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but serves in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet, has previously made strong remarks suggesting that Fubara’s return to power is unlikely. Political analysts suggest that the latest meeting with the APC leadership could signal deeper realignments ahead of future elections in Rivers State. However, neither Wike nor the APC chairman has issued an official statement clarifying the purpose or outcome of the discussion. As the political atmosphere in Rivers continues to heat up, stakeholders are watching closely to see how the power struggle between Wike and Fubara will ultimately shape the state’s political direction. https://news-af.feednews.com/news/detail/9e053baa4dbf73d05ea8d407c0157c9d?client=news |
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has cautioned opposition political actors against zoning the 2027 presidential ticket to the South, warning that such a move could ultimately hand President Bola Tinubu an easy path to re-election. In a statement issued by his camp, Atiku argued that presenting another southern candidate against a sitting southern president lacks political strategy and has no historical precedent in Nigeria’s democratic experience. According to the statement, opposition parties must focus on building a formidable coalition capable of defeating the incumbent rather than making what it described as sentimental or symbolic decisions. Naija News reports that Atiku’s camp questioned the viability of a southern opposition candidate unseating a southern incumbent president. “At the core of the question is: how does a Southern opposition candidate realistically unseat a sitting Southern president?” the statement read. “Nigerian political history offers no precedent for such an outcome. To insist otherwise is to enter the contest already defeated.” The statement suggested that if the opposition insists on zoning the presidency to the South, it may as well allow Tinubu seek another term without fielding a rival candidate from the same region. According to Atiku’s camp, the strategy lacks the political strength and national appeal required to dislodge an incumbent president. The former vice president’s camp also criticised proponents of southern zoning, describing the agitation as “intellectually dishonest” and disconnected from present political realities. “Defeating an incumbent president requires realism, not romanticism; strategy, not sentiment; honesty, not selective memory,” the statement added. It further urged opposition leaders to decide whether their priority was making symbolic political statements or genuinely winning power in 2027. The statement stressed that opposition politics should be guided by electoral calculations and national coalition-building rather than emotional considerations. On the issue of fairness and power rotation, Atiku’s camp argued that the South would have spent more years in power than the North by 2027. According to the statement, the South would have occupied the presidency for 18 years, while the North would have held power for only 10 years within the same democratic period. “It becomes difficult to understand the justice in an argument that seeks to deepen an already existing imbalance under the guise of equity,” the statement noted. The camp also accused some advocates of southern zoning of selective memory, recalling that many of them supported former President Goodluck Jonathan’s presidential bid in 2011 despite widespread expectations that power should return to the North at the time. “It is intellectually dishonest for those who supported a Southern presidency in 2011 to now posture as custodians of rotational justice,” the statement said. While acknowledging the Southeast’s legitimate ambition to produce Nigeria’s president, Atiku’s camp criticised what it termed “transactional political bargaining” and “symbolic tokenism.” The statement warned against arrangements allegedly designed to satisfy individual political ambitions without establishing a credible and sustainable pathway for the region to attain power. “Principles do not become sacred only when they align with personal ambition,” the statement concluded. It urged opposition parties and stakeholders to focus on building a broad-based national alliance capable of defeating Tinubu at the polls instead of becoming entangled in divisive zoning debates ahead of the 2027 general election. https://www./2026/05/12/atiku-presidential-ticket-zoning-to-south-tinubu/?utm_source=operamini&utm_medium=feednews&utm_campaign=operamini_feednews |
According to the Lagos Ibadan expressway propaganda machinery, every one is working for Tinubu, |
Anyone who ever believed Tinubu’s promises must have his head checked |
Imagine filing a lawsuit only to start running from it. The court should award punitive costs for wasting judicial time and abusing court process. |
This narrative that Tinubu is doing something revolutionary with every appointment he makes should stop henceforth. The people pushing this narrative already know he is doing nothing special. They are not deceiving Nigerians; they are merely deceiving themselves into thinking they are. This is the same way they praised him for appointing Christopher Musa as Minister of Defence after the same man was removed for incompetence as Chief of Defence Staff by the very same Tinubu |
yarimo:He carpeted it comfortably under APC and none of you complained. The moment he joined the opposition, your outrage factory suddenly resumed operation. Very predictable. Interesting how your standards only became active after he left APC. Before then, silence was apparently part of party loyalty. |

I’ll work with Obi, anyone that emerges as NDC’s presidential candidate — Kwankwaso Former presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has declared his readiness to support Peter Obi or any other presidential candidate produced by the Nigeria Democratic Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections, insisting that the party’s decision would be supreme. Kwankwaso, who recently aligned with the opposition coalition in the NDC alongside former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, said the party had already agreed to zone its 2027 presidential ticket to Southern Nigeria for a single four-year term. The former Kano governor appeared on Arise TV PrimeTime programme and confirmed that the decision was reached after consultations with party leaders and stakeholders across the country. “If the party decides that I will be anybody’s running mate from the South, I am ready”, he affirmed. “Right from day one, we sat down together and we looked at the situation on the ground in the country and we decided to take a major decision, including zoning the presidency to the South for four years and after that, the Presidency will return to the North”, he added. Kwankwaso added that many northern politicians who joined the party accepted the arrangement because they believed it was the best way to address long-standing political tensions over power rotation. “We believe that the best place to take it is to the South so that we can eliminate the confusion that emanated from the death of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. What is key now is not the Presidency from the North or South, but rather to have quality leadership, people who are enthusiastic, determined and committed to give the country the leadership it deserves,” he said. Kwankwaso revealed that he and Obi had already held discussions on tackling insecurity, particularly in Northern Nigeria. “Peter Obi and I have discussed a lot of ways we can tackle insecurity. I have worked together with people across board and I am sure of my capacity.” Kwankwaso also hinted at a possible future alliance with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar despite their political differences. “We might still work together before election days. We had to leave because of issues that are very detrimental. So, we are not fighting anybody,” he stated. The former Kano governor argued that the 2027 election would largely be driven by young Nigerians seeking a new direction for the country. “The fact remains that so many things have changed in this country but we have to realize that it is the turn of youth.I remember my daughter told me to work with Obi in 2023,” Kwankwaso added. According to him, both the Obidient Movement and the Kwankwasiyya movement share similar ideals and could work effectively together. “The Kwankwasiyya are disciplined and positive, so are the Obidients,” he said. Kwankwaso also criticised governors across the country, claiming many were depending heavily on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for political survival ahead of 2027. “Our governors have made so much mistakes. I can tell you that all the governors are relying on Bola Ahmed Tinubu to win elections,” he said. “Things have changed. Northerners no longer want rice or chicken like the other party does.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2026/05/ill-work-with-any-candidate-ndc-produces-for-presidency-kwankwaso/ |

Fubara shouldn’t take the Ambode route. He should decamp now and fight it to the finish. Even if he loses, he’ll leave office with his head held high, not politically neutered. |

richmond500:You just proved the point without realizing it. Nobody said APC supporters get angry at the words ‘vote wisely’ in isolation it’s the defensive reactions, assumptions, instant counterattacks and threats anytime the phrase trends that I am are talking about. And notice how you immediately turned a general observation into a courtroom challenge demanding evidence like the phrase personally touched a nerve. That overreaction is exactly why people say: if ‘vote wisely’ feels targeted, maybe deep down you already know who voters are being warned against |
As the 2027 general election approaches, one of the most commonly used phrases among Nigerians, especially voters...is “Vote wisely.” Yet, the phrase is often misconstrued as an attack on a particular candidate. In fact, many Tinubu/APC supporters seem to interpret it as a direct jab at Tinubu, reacting hysterically and launching venomous verbal attacks at anyone who says it. Ironically, if “Vote wisely” sounds offensive to someone, perhaps they should ask themselves why |
Kokaine:Just as he convinced you that he built Lagos from scratch and tamed the Atlantic ocean. |
Kokaine:Listen, if Gej join the race it will seriously affect Tinubu's vote more than any other southern candidate |
It is on record that Tinubu was the first politician in the Fourth Republic to create a faction within his own political party. When he could not hijack the party Alliance for Democracy (AD) from its original owners, he created a faction and eventually decamped to form the Action Congress. (AC) Ironically, many of today’s “Mandate standers” are unaware of this history , perhaps because they were toddlers then, or not yet born. Instead of reading history, they prefer the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway propaganda machine that portrays Tinubu as the man who built Lagos from scratch and personally tamed the Atlantic Ocean |
