On no account should the case against him be dropped. The case must be prosecuted diligently and justice served at the end of the day.
No corruption case should be dropped.

But, Seunmsg, I did not see this comment of yours regarding Okowa’s case. I also did not notice similar comments from you on the Yahaya Bello case, nor did I see you reminding the EFCC chairman of his promise to ensure that Yahaya Bello is prosecuted and jailed, or that he would resign.

As we write, Yahaya Bello is free, free like a bird in the sky, marrying new wives after siphoning and embezzling over 86 billion naira belonging to the people of Kogi State.

I also did not see your comments on Betta Edu’s case regarding the National Social Investment Programmes (NSIP) funds she embezzled, with the active connivance of Tunji Ojo.

The list is endless.

I repeat No corruption case should be dropped.

There should be no sacred cow if this government is truly serious about fighting corruption.

But if we must tell ourselves the obvious truth, Tinubu cannot fight corruption. He is a morally and ethically discredited individual and lacks the political will to genuinely combat corruption, largely because of his background.

PoliticsPromotion Of Tinubu’s ADC Suspended Over ‘Bad Precedent’ Concerns by Ofunaofu(op): 3:42pm On Dec 16, 2025
The proposed promotion of Nurudeen Yusuf, aide-de-camp, ADC, to President Bola Tinubu, to the rank of brigadier-general has been reportedly suspended.

The Cable reports that the development followed a last-minute intervention by two former chiefs of army staff.

According to the report, citing a presidential source, the promotion would not happen “anytime soon”.

Recall that Yusuf was scheduled to be decorated as a one-star general on Monday evening through a “special presidential promotion,” but the plan was shelved amid concerns within the military establishment.

Yusuf was decorated as a colonel in January 2025 after his promotion in December 2024.

However, under established military procedure, an officer must serve at least four years as a colonel and attend the National Defence College, NDC, before being considered for promotion.

Approval to bypass the process was conveyed in a letter from the Office of the National Security Adviser, NSA, to the Chief of Army Staff.

DAILY POST reports that the move generated disquiet within the military, as no brigadier-general has previously served as ADC to a Nigerian President.

Military experts reportedly warned that the promotion would set a “bad precedent”.

Ahead of the planned decoration, the Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, a retired general, and the Chief of Army Staff, Waidi Shaibu, a lieutenant general, cut short an official visit to Lagos and returned to Abuja.

Sources said the intervention of two former army chiefs persuaded Tinubu to suspend the promotion.

PoliticsDangote Accuses NMDPRA CEO Of Splurging $5m On Children School Fees In Switzerla by Ofunaofu(op): 9:06am On Dec 16, 2025
demands probe

President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has called for a full investigation into allegations that the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Farouk Ahmed, spent about $5 million on the secondary school education of his four children in Switzerland.

Speaking on Sunday during a press briefing at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery in Lekki, Lagos, Dangote said Ahmed should publicly explain how such an amount was funded, given his position as a public official. He urged relevant authorities, including the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal, to investigate the matter, describing the allegation as one that raises serious concerns about accountability and economic sabotage.

Dangote recalled that similar allegations were made in July, when a group accused Ahmed of spending over $5.5 million on foreign education for his children. At the time, the NMDPRA dismissed the claims, describing them as false and part of an orchestrated smear campaign against its leadership.

PoliticsRecuse Yourself, You Can’t Investigate Me — Malami To EFCC Chairman by Ofunaofu(op): 10:57pm On Dec 15, 2025
Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman to recuse himself from an ongoing investigation and threatened prosecution, describing the probe as a politically motivated “witch-hunt.”

In a press release issued on Monday, Malami claimed that the investigation and his detention are driven by personal animosity linked to his recent defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He alleged that the EFCC Chairman harbors a historical grudge stemming from the Justice Ayo Salami Judicial Commission of Inquiry, which investigated corruption allegations within the EFCC during Malami’s tenure as Attorney-General.

“The present investigation—marked by illegal detentions, media harassment, and procedural abuses—bears all the hallmarks of retaliatory persecution motivated by personal vengeance,” Malami said. He emphasized that the EFCC, under its current leadership, cannot conduct a fair or objective investigation into his activities.

Malami formally demanded that the EFCC Chairman step aside and that the matter be transferred to another government agency to ensure impartiality, credibility, and public confidence. He also called on the current Attorney-General of the Federation to intervene, warning that continued involvement by the EFCC Chairman risks further institutional damage and abuse of prosecutorial powers.

Insisting on judicial oversight, Malami urged immediate arraignment before a competent court, in compliance with Sections 35(3), (4), and (5) of the Nigerian Constitution, stating that only a court—not a politically compromised agency—can lawfully adjudicate the matter.

He further accused the EFCC of planning to rely on questionable witnesses, including individuals convicted abroad, to bolster its case against him, calling the approach “desperate, scandalous, and corrosive to the integrity of Nigeria’s criminal justice system.”

The press release confirmed that Malami’s office has formally requested certified copies of the petitions and investigation reports forming the basis of the EFCC’s actions, citing petitions by Human and Environmental Agenda and Grassroot Advocacy for Peace and Good Governance.

Malami concluded by stressing that his objective is to clear his name transparently through lawful judicial processes, warning against the politicization of anti-corruption agencies. “The law must remain supreme—above politics, above power, and above persons,” he said.

The statement was signed by Mohammed Bello Doka, Special Assistant on Media to Abubakar Malami, SAN

fergie001:
I have refrained from commenting because our newspapers can paint Court rulings sometimes.

But like I said when they filed this suit:
-Did they obtain the consent of Fubara or Rivers Govt?
I don’t think they need to obtain the consent of anyone.
They only approached the Supreme Court to interpret the law and determine whether the President has the power to suspend democratically elected governors and members of a State House of Assembly.

However, from what I can deduce here and to the chagrin of everyone the Supreme Court supports the president action describing it as “extraordinary measure to restore peace and order.”

This is very dangerous

This implies that the President can instigate chaos and anarchy in a State he doesn't like the governor by empowering certain individuals, as Wike was empowered to instigate a crisis in Rivers State and then suspend a democratically elected governor under the guise of restoring peace and order through an 'extraordinary measure.'

ObiORBiafra:
Everything is not money. You are going to one day get to a stage in life where you will realise that.

Everything is not about money or bribery.

If you get a chance to be around Tinubu you'll change the hate you have for him.

Follow the pattern. What about GEJ? Has Tinubu given him money too? Except for political opponents you'll hardly see someone that has met or deal with Tinubu saying bad things about him. Look at Fubara you'll say he's caged and blah blah but everyday the man say graceful things about the president. You gotta meet the man first. Don't inherit other people's hate.
Nobody said everything is money, but pretending money, power and patronage don’t shape people’s public praise in Nigerian politics is either naive or dishonest.

As for this comment of yours "If you get a chance to be around Tinubu you'll change the hate you have for him"

That is not a moral defense, plenty of powerful men are charming in person and disastrous in power. History judges leaders by records and consequences, not handshakes.
And also, as for everyone who meets him speaks well of him, that’s simply not true, unless we conveniently exclude critics as political enemies. By that logic, every autocrat or dictator in history was a saint because his inner circle praised him.

If you truly want to understand Tinubu’s character beyond inherited praise, go read the late Yinka Odumakin’s 2019 open letter to him written by someone who knew him closely, not an opponent. It raises serious questions about his politics, integrity, and the long-standing allegations that follow his name. Those issues didn’t come from social media hatred, they came from documented public discourse.

You don’t need to meet a man personally to judge his leadership. Nigerians are living with the results already.

Some clueless persons, take pride in pointing fingers. & blaming others for their own laziness.

Let others go & bring foreign investments to Nigeria for u people, whilst u all just troll around on the internet gallivanting abi?
FDI is not attracted by random citizens on internet, it is attracted by governments that create stable, credible, and profitable environments.

Private individuals don’t control macro-economic policy, exchange-rate stability, security, power supply, infrastructure
regulatory consistency

Governments do.

If after all these foreign trips, bloated delegations, and obscene estacodes, Nigeria is still struggling to attract sustainable FDI, the failure belongs to Tinubu and others paid to govern, not citizens asking questions.

Holding leaders accountable is not laziness.
It’s literally the job of citizens in a democracy
