“Ese you look a lot better since the separation…”

At least three people have messaged me with the same content said differently and I thought to respond about that comment.

It is true.

I look a lot better than I did since coming out about the separation.

I think the first reason is because I no longer have to pretend or use silence to keep the truth of the separation.

Another thing is, while married, I felt I had to be certain ways. Sometimes, many times, I compromised even to my own discomfort.

The people pleasing part of me came out fully in marriage. I didn’t trust myself, let alone Boobdaddy. I didn’t know what a family was supposed to be and I had times where I didn’t feel like Boobdaddy and I were family. It was like there is me and this child I birth, then there’s this man responsible for the pregnancy whom is called husband and we are somehow supposed to live in this four cornered space…. forever?

I could never admit that I didn’t get that. And worse, didn’t want it. Why did I feel choked sometimes? Surely I was the only married woman who didn’t want to see her dear husband so much in a week.

I had to pretend and swallow all of these things I considered weird and wrong of me.

Now… I live alone with my compulsory tenants (Boobies. That’s short for Boobbabies

Being in this space where I can be me. Whatever that means to me, and the many changes that will rise, without worrying about pleasing another person outside myself, is very freeing. Selfish too. (I am a selfish woman)

It gets lonely sometimes but at least this lonely makes sense. The type of lonely I used to experience didn’t make sense. How can you feel lonely when you have a live-in partner?

So yes, I do look better and that’s because I FEEL better about Ese. And I no longer have to hide my uncomfortable truths.

It also helps that Boobdaddy and I have been able to build friendship. We used to be good friends before marriage tried to scatter the friendship

We ditched the marriage and kept the friendship. And family

I am happy and content on the inside. This shows on the outside as “looking better.”

Plus, I have activated my vampirism genes. I’m done aging as we know it

Akpobome Samuel who allegedly killed his mother, Mrs Gift Samuel by strangulation and slept with the corpse at the small town of Ologbo, Ikpoba Okha local government area of Edo state has given reasons for the dastardly act.

Samuel who was among 84 suspects paraded by the police for various crimes ranging from cultism, kidnapping, rape, armed robbery, murder and burglary yesterday in Benin explained that it was for money making rituals.

The other murder suspect was 20-year-old Odion Jimoh, who beheaded a man identified as Asuelimhen Atogwe, at Ayogwiri, in Edo north.


The teenage murder suspect who confessed to his crime said he acted on the instructions of a witch doctor whom he contacted for money rituals.




He said the voodoo doctor told him that after killing his mother, he should sleep with her corpse in order to get rich and that he willingly complied with his instruction and killed her.

Akpobome who said he worked in a sachet water packaging factory in Ologbo, said he was caught by his grandmother who came to knock on his door having waited patiently for the deceased to accompany her to church.

It was gathered that the grandmother caught the suspect in the act while having s3x with his mother.

He said he had only slept with the corpse once said his grandmother raised the alarm that attracted the attention of the people around when she saw the lifeless body of his mother on the floor.

“The native doctor told me to kill my mother and sleep with her corpse, but he did not tell me the number of days to sleep with her. He told me to keep her dead body inside the room for two days but I was caught when I could no longer keep it.

“I did not know that my grandmother was sitting outside. She opened the door and sighted me in the corpse inside the room and raised the alarm that drew the attention of the public.

“My mother did not offend me. I killed her because of the money,” he said.

On his part, Odion Jimoh who beheaded his victim said he did not know what came on him before he committed the murder.

“Honestly, the man did not do anything to me. I don’t know what came over me,” he said.

Police sources had it that the victim who worked as a carpenter was contracted to work at a house where met the suspect weeding, and asked him why he was not at the community age-group festival.

It was gathered that the suspect who was already high after smoking substance suspected to be marijuana, felt slighted and humiliated by the victim’s action, and went after him, hit him on the neck with a wooden object before beheading him with a cutlass.

The source added that the suspect was later arrested at an uncompleted building after the man who contracted the victim raised the alarm when he discovered the lifeless body of the man and his head beside him.

A British sailor who reported his wife missing overboard from their catamaran off the coast of Cuba has pleaded guilty to her manslaughter.

US authorities had originally charged Lewis Bennett from Poole in Dorset with the murder of Isabella Hellmann in 2017.

Her body has never been found.

That charge was downgraded to unlawful killing without malice at a hearing in Miami, Florida, to which the 41-year-old Bennett pleaded guilty. He faces up to eight years in prison when he is sentenced next year.

The couple, who had only been married three months, had been sailing around the Caribbean in the spring of 2017, before heading back to the home they shared in Delray Beach, Florida.

Bennett claimed that he had been resting in their boat’s cabin on 15 May 2017, when he was woken by a loud noise.

He said that when he went on deck he found the sails and rigging loose and his wife nowhere to be found.

But the court heard that he did not try to search for her, activate emergency equipment, or raise the alarm.

Prosecutors said it was not until 45 minutes later that he reported Isabella missing, and only after he had scuttled the catamaran and boarded a life raft.

Reacting to Bennett’s guilty plea US attorney Fajardo Orshan said: “Although nothing can ever erase the pain and suffering caused by Lewis Bennett’s criminal acts, the US Attorney’s Office and our law enforcement partners hope that the defendant’s admission of guilt is a step toward justice for the victim, Ms Isabella Hellmann, and her family.

“The federal government remains committed to the safety and security of our US citizens, whether they are at home in South Florida or travelling on the high seas.”

Court documents relating to the original murder charge alleged Bennett had killed his wife to end “marital strife” and to inherit her money and the Delray Beach home, which she owned.

During the investigation into Isabella’s death it was discovered that Bennett had been smuggling rare coins worth $30,000 ( £22,974) after stealing them from a former employer.

He is currently serving a seven-month sentence after admitting the theft.

The man who drowned after he reportedly jumped into the Lagoon in Lagos on Friday has been identified as

a staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria.

A staff of FRCN, who pleaded anonymity, told the News Agency of Nigeria that the deceased was a driver attached to an Assistant Director in charge of Information Communication Technology unit of the corporation.

The source said that the deceased was newly posted from the FRCN Training School located in Shogunle to the Broadcasting House in Ikoyi, Lagos

The source, however, described him as a gentleman.

Tunji Disu, Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, told NAN that his men got to the scene almost immediately and invited marine police and local divers who recovered the corpse from the lagoon.

“The deceased parked the vehicle he was driving on the Third Mainland Bridge and told other occupants of the vehicle that he wanted to urinate

“The occupants were shocked as he dived into the Lagoon,” said RSS Commander, Disu, Assistant Commissioner of Police.

RRS had earlier tweeted on its tweeter handle @rrslagos767: “A man has jumped into the Lagoon from 3rd Mainland Bridge.

“RRS riders got to the scene almost immediately and radioed for assistance from the Marine Police, LASG rescue Boats & local divers, who recovered the corpse.

“The remains have been taken to Ebute Ero division.’’

NAN recalls that on October 3, 2018, a middle-aged man drowned after reportedly jumping into the lagoon from the Third Mainland Bridge inwards Lagos Island.

A Mararaba Upper Area Court, Nasarawa State, on Friday dissolved the six-month marriage between Saratu Abdullahi and her husband, Malam Ja’afaru, over lack of care and inconsiderate behaviour.

The judge, Ibrahim Shakarau, dissolved the marriage in the interest of peace, saying that the parties have ceased to be husband and wife henceforth.

“The parties are to maintain peace all the time, any violation of the order of this court will amount to contempt and, of course, with grave consequences.

“Also, the parties should collect their divorce certificate from the registrar’s office,’’ he ordered.

The judge advised the petitioner to observe her iddah (menstrual flow that a woman must observe after the death of her husband or divorced) according to Islamic rites, for three months before she can remarry.

Saratu had told the court that she was married to the respondent in December 2017, under Islamic rites in Mararaba, Karu Local Government Area, and the union did not produce any child.

“He is not considerate. As a Muslim, I am not supposed to pray and fast during menstruation, but he forced me to fast and pray, knowing that I was not supposed to, even though he is a Muslim too.

“Ja’afaru does not feed me or care for me. When I was sick, he did not take me to the hospital and sometime in June, I left his house and he did not care to bring me back.

“He denied me sex because he has abandoned my bed for long.

“Please, let this honourable court separate us, there is no longer love in the union and nothing can bring us together again because I have lost love and affection for him,’’ she said.

The respondent, who was present in court, did not object to the separation, and prayed the court to grant the petitioner’s request.
