I read this blog and was utterly left speechless. A British expat has come to work in Nigeria and this are his accounts of Nigeria. http://www.desertsun.co.uk/blog/?p=1734&cpage=1#comments |
Gizbee: They should all repent befor it is late.christ comethdumb comment |
Rossikk: Spare us this garbage. All I see is a 32 year old kid and his spouse who have no business being at the helm of a nation, but got there via the barrel of a gun. Nothing to celebrate.e easy to get to the helm of affairs na im your papa no reach there. abeg give it to Gowon he is one of the finest officers sandhurst has ever produced. |
This is really good.... thumbs up man... nice pitch...... we will get there some day |
Samunique: I'm very suprised, when i see people condeming and agitating d baning of Church in Nigeria! Why are we so ungrateful and forgetful? Now let me remind u, av u forgot that christianity brought an end to d killing of Twins, human sacrifice? Don't u remember any more that some of us would have died illitrates if not for christianity and d church? I was a muslim but attended missionary school, christianity has done alot for us in nigeria, although, it may be having its own issues now as rightly predicted by d scripture, that doesn't mean we shld destroy it as the West are doing now, destroying d work their forefathers laboured and died for. Now we can see d negative effects it's having on them today! Ps 16:4 "Their sorrows shall be multplied that hasten after another god" let me say this, "what Jehovah has done no one can undo!that was true xtianity not the business model people run these days. |
Lordlexy: @HOLY HOLLA. Bro, that pagan doesnot worth your responses. There's no point debating with a blood sucking cultist like him. My mum use to tell me how she lost many of her sibling cos grand pa was an idol worshipper. How little disobedient to whatever nonsense deity, will result to murder, and how they became so impoverish as a result of series of animal sacrifices to constantly appease the demons and lucifer called 'gods' which cost them quite a fortune, not to talk about the trauma they went through. Thank God for CHRIST JESUS AND HIS BLOOD that has permanently rescued us such slavery and misfortune.Lack of education allows us to blame everything on a deity or miracle... when her siblings died, did they carry out autopsy? majority of Nigerians are educated illiterates . |
PAGAN 9JA:Thank you my broda... they read about the history of jews and even quote it everyday however ask them about their own history, dem no go no. |
This should be done in Nigeria as a matter of urgency. |
m.k.o2005:MKO they have good churches in Germany that preach the true word of God and even donate for places like Nigeria but they don't have pastors living like Jayz and beyounce. |
m.k.o2005:Shebi na God put people for govt, let God ask them too now abi? |
anonimi: Thanks for your very good testimony of using your God given brain and talent to contribute to the growth and devlopment of our society rather than SIMPLY praying for God again to come down and save us from ourselves. What do you want God to do for you again? Have you realized Nigeria is the most blessed nation in the world? But the people are the problem. Until we start thinking outside the box, my brother nothing go happen. We dont even appreciate the greatest law of all (Love thy neighbour as thyself). So tell me if you can't love your neighbour that you can see how can you claim to love someone you can't see. |
Hemical: So, the other day I was in this church and there was this man dancing and graciously giving his offering. The pastor even prayed that his business continues to flourish. He made a large donation for the church's new expansion project. I knew I had seen the man somewhere. I tried to recollect. It didn't come early enough but then, it struck me. He was one of the robbers who came to rob our house the other night. He's even being prayed for to have a flourishing business. They killed our gateman that night. The gateman's wife was pregnant. I went to make inquiries after service, everyone said the man is a business-man but they don't know his kind of business. It's no one's fault though. Just wish they knew more about him. There are thieves everywhere. Just wish people will ask more questions. Maybe our gateman will still be alive and his baby will still have a father. I called the police. They arrested him the next sunday, he confessed to the crime.sorry to hear that. thats what happens in a society where worshiping God = having loads of money. we have totally missed the point of serving God now its about prosperity. i dont have a problem with people giving all they have to a guy, thats their problem but i do have a problem with people that know how to play on poor peoples minds. its sad, pathetic and annoying. |
m.k.o2005:Many thanks for your comments. No one is saying the church should be taxed. I wondered why we dont have as many pentecostal churches in Germany as we have in uK and other places but lo and behold, the government put a strict law on collecting money from individuals so religion will not be monetary as they have done in Nigeria and other places. i can count how many of such churches exist in germany simply because its not profitable. so your argument of church not being profit making is morally flawed but constitutionally right. |
if its non of your business what your church does with your money then i dont see why you should ever ever ever ever blame any government for mismanaging money that is not yours. gbam |
I dont get it, these same xtians complain about paying taxes that will help develop the nation. they will go all the way to avoid paying tax. left to me, i think they should introduce church and religious tax as they have in Germany. from your pay, the tax gets deducted and you nominate what project it should go towards. gbam. |

I think we are missing the point here, "Discrimination" a fresh graduate could be 40 yr old. If applying for a fresher role, should he be discriminated against cause of his age? |
dridowu: Touch not my anointed (Bishop Oyedepo)Brainwashed!!! |
jp philips: if you are opportune to go to uni at 30, then you have made a poor decision unless u ve established a career before then.@JP Phillips: There is no law that says uni at any age is an opportunity... I do understand ur thoughts might be limited to your immediate environment which is why you feel that way however, my opinion is anybody that has a quest for knowledge can decide to go to UNI when he/she so desires. I can decide at 45 to go and studt Medicine, will that be a bad decision? should i be discriminated against because of my Age? |
eddiebruk: In this sense i would put that on our low level of educational standards, if you go outside Nigeria you will find out that our Nigerian Certificates are practically useless and has no value, because we lack proper educational standards, the only credible university in Nigeria is AUN (American University of Nigeria) they are they only university with an Internationally recognized Degree...many nations have gone past the stage of education Nigeria is adopting right now, the world has gone past where handouts, copying notes during lectures, and teaching a Information Technology student in the University and he only gets to see what the inner part of a computer looks like in his 3rd year, Nigeria Lacks so many things in our Educational aspects, Medicine as it is is very wide yet Nigeria still covers it in one course, whereas other countries are splitting it into Surgeries, Opticians, Dentistry, Physicians, and other aspect of medicine, yet Nigeria will want to teach you all in one there by lacking specificity in one, take example someone studying information Technology and after his Universities he now wants to work in the IT industry what kind of Specialist/Professional Job will Nigeria provide for him, when truly the IT industry is very wide..? this is where he now has to do another one year of professional studies on a particular information technology course to help him focus on one Area of the IT world...this is what the Foreigners do to beat our system of education, they get professional withI agree with you my brother however i wou;dn't say Nigerian Degrees are useless as i think its up to every individual to build on what he/she is taught. I went to uni in Nigeria and i have worked in good companies in UK,US and most places in europe on good projects. Education doesn't stop with just having a degree. People need to start analyzing the market and see where they best fit in with good ROI (Return on Investment). International certifications know no boundaries. I always tell people "don't just wait for and oppurtunity, be ready for it". what we are experiencing in nigeria is called "cert crazy" ignoring experience and vital talent management plan. e.g my former director is an ordinary college graduate (UK) but he became a director after proving himself. i think we will both agree that having a degree is not a sign of competence. |
hmmn im seeing some uni here oooo abeg which one be American university nigeria again? |
Eko Atlantic: Must be related to OluwaseunShe looks like a farmer.... lol |
@eddiebruk: i do agree with your views in terms of the society and the respect but we need to understand its not just about working in Nigeria for a Nigerian company. the world is becoming a global village and any company in nigeria would aspire to be part of this village. I have 2 scenarios... 1: if a 23 year old white expatriate comes to nigeria, will the same elders respect him? i bet the answer is yes... we need to change our work culture and ethics to understand your boss is simply your boss end of. Scenario 2: Employment in Nigeria sometimes goes in an anti clockwise direction quite understandably because of the same society. A masters holder with no work experience in the western world will have 2 problems (a) over-qualified for roles (b) no matching experience for qualification criteria. |
poshdiva: What if It's aim is to give the younger and fresh graduates a chance?Seems you dont get the gist... its about age discrimination... a 55 year old man/woman might be a fresh graduate.... however it will be wrong for him to be turned down for an entry level job cause of his age. |
Chei see fine girls for naija ooooo. Good time to be an aristo lol. Nigeria Land of beauty............ |
This shows how backward Nigeria is in terms of Human Resources legislation. What has age got to do with your ability to perform? this kind of discrimination does not support nor help the poor. how about people that could only afford to go to uni after 30? Later some people will be comparing Nigeria to UK and US? hmmm i rest my case. |
hmmn after messing up in the western world, delloite is now going to Nigeria to mess things up again. Arise all small companies, collabo and merge if need be before this jack of all trades take up everything from tax to IT. |
If a government can discriminate as listed below, the the same government cannot dictate to companies with matters regarding age discrimination.1) President ; must be 40 years old...section 131 subsection 2b 2) Vice president; same as that of the president... section 142 subsection 2 3) Senator; must be 35 years old...section 65 subsection 1a 4) House of representative; must be 30 years old... section 65 subsection 1b 5) Governor ; must be 35 years old...section 177 subsection 1b 6)  eputy Governor; ; same as that of the Governor... section 187 subsection 2 7) Members of the house of assembly; must be 30 years old... section 106 subsection 1b Just My Opinion |
