MartinsOnyx: As the debate on power shift and zoning continues to engulf the political space, the importance of putting this besieging subject in proper perspective cannot be hyperbolized. In order to get rid of the pervading conjectures and adulterated opinions, this topic has to be swiftly put to bed.
Putting it rather charitably, the towncriers amplifying this clamour for the main opposition party, the PDP to zone its ticket to the South are either meddlesome interlopers or just up to mischief aimed at satiating their inordinate desires.
True to its billing as a party deeply rooted on the principles of equity, fairness and justice; the PDP, from 1999 till date has always zoned its elective positions on the basis of a North/South oscillation and vice versa. For avoidance of conflicts, let it be unequivocally stated that this rotation policy remains a domestic intra-party mechanism incubated by the founding fathers of the PDP to engender unity and inclusiveness. Also, nothing in the Nigerian constitution mandates parties to negotiate a power sharing formula among themselves. Thus, we run foul of no law.
Let it be on record that there was never a time since the formation of the PDP, that it went into an alliance or agreement with other parties to create some sort of uniform template on any issue; talk less zoning. The egalitarian podium on which our great party stands, certainly leaves no room for hobnobbing with its ideologically inferior counterparts. Ideally, one size hardly fits all.
In apparent deference to zoning, history shows that there has always been an exchange of baton along dichotomic lines since 1999 till we lost power in 2015. Olusegun Obasanjo; a Southerner, handed over the reins to Umaru Musa Yar'adua (R.I.P); a Northerner. Owing to the latter's demise, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan; a Southerner completed his principal's tenure before vying for his own mandate which culminated in the loss of power in 2015.
Between 1999 and 2015 that the PDP held sway, Presidents of southern extraction occupied the exalted office for over 13 out of the total period of 16 years. This figure amounts to a whopping value of 81%. Like they say, numbers don't lie. After the manipulated defeat of the party's candidate in 2019, the right of first refusal for the 2023 ticket still belongs to the North.
Arguing against this lucid position only reeks of political expediency. Ultimately, he who demands equity must not approach it with leprous hands. Matter of fact, the moral burden is now on the ruling APC, to emulate the PDP by respecting the plurality of its members ethnic and religious diversity. However, it is nobody's business if the party chooses the path of ignominy for which it has gained unprecedented notoriety.
In synopsis, issues such as zoning; though delicate, are strictly party affairs and our party's precedence shows the premium we place on it. With our pride of place as the biggest political party in Nigeria, our decisions should not pander to the whims, emotional outbursts and monkey tricks of rival parties. Lest we fail.
North or South, let the party reign supreme. God bless the PDP!! God bless Nigeria!!!
E-signed, Hon. Abdul-Azeez Akinsanya, Zonal Coordinator SW, Atiku Support Organisation.
You're Atiku guy, you use names both from the south and the north and you still said nothing. Your principal should focus on why he wants to be president, sending you to explain this to us or sending Dokpesi will not change the fact that Atiku na Dubai person. He comes only on election year and goes back.
Nice one. Although I still don't understand why because Nigerian women from state A married to a man from state B do not yet enjoy citizenship benefits if said state B. Why would a foreigner be treated better?
Metrix147: Political Scientist and philanthropist, Hon. Mkpa Oju Uka has expressed disappointment with the decision of the Senator representing Abia South, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe to join the governorship race in 2023, saying it runs contrary to an existing Charter of Equity in the state which allows rotational governorship position.
Speaking on ABN TV's Political Perspective on Tuesday, Hon. Mkpa Oju Uka said Sen. Abaribe, a former Deputy governor in Abia cannot be clamouring for the South-East to be allowed to rule the country in 2023 and at the same time undermine an existing arrangement that allows power to rotate around the three geopolitical zones in the state.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XTBnWHXRpM He said Sen. Abaribe has remained a diehard supporter and advocate of rotational leadership in the state and national level, wondering why he decided to join the race when his Abia South Senatorial District at the moment holds the governorship position.
"He can always express his mind as a politician and as an individual but he knows it's a wrong step to take, otherwise you take Abia back and that will create a crisis.
"For me it's a disappointment. You are clamouring for a zoning system for the South-East to be given an opportunity and it can be you.
"In the other way, even if they don't, you may be the Vice President and you have the capacity to be one.
"Then you're coming back to your state and you are now abandoning the zoning system, the equity system which you have spoken many times passionately about as a Senator.
"That is unbelievable, that you can be advocating for one thing at the national level and going contrary to the same thing at the state level. So it's a joke" he said.

Gkemz: Nigerians and international bodies are watching with keen interest in the aftermath of Anambra election. We will resist every attempt to remove Soludo and install Andy Uba of APC as the incoming governor. We will not allow what happened in Imo state to repeat in Anambra. Anambra people have declared their interest through their franchise. There's no room for APC in Anambra state and Andy Uba is declared persona non grata in Anambra state government. He carried out his campaign in Lagos, maybe Lagos can compensate him with a special adviser on sanitation just like his counterpart Joe Igbokwe, the gutter man
Supreme145: I commented on a thread yesterday that was about how much that can last someone through the week, I posted that I can manage 3k for a week and I was literary dragged and trolled through the thread. Some accused me of lying while some said I still live with my parents, others saw my post as a scheme to accrue favour from people.
I never wanted to open a thread about this, but as God would have it, he blessed me ( Not from that thread) through Nairaland best roofer and known philanthropist @ money121 and @despian that sent me something to help with my school project. I managed to squeeze out a little money and branch to the market to get some food stuffs. Below is a detail of how I spent 3k on food stuffs that would last me a week.
Rice 1 mudu(8 cups) : #600 Beans 1 mudu(8 cups) : #900 Potato : #500 1/2 bottle of palm oil : #400( I add just enough to colour the food) 1 packet of maggi : #250 Powder pepper :#100 Onions :#100 Airtime :#100 Total :#2950 The remaining #50 is for Chelsea match later in the evening.
While I didn't make this post to glorify poverty but it seems some people are oblivious to the situation of things in the country at the moment. Apparently the hardship levels is skewed, based on the values that people were quoting on that thread. While some food stuffs are at a premium at the moment, there are some of us that cut our suit according to our ankara.
Next is how I manage the foodstuff to last me a week in no particular order.
Day one: Rice and beans Day two: beans and potatoes Day three: only Rice Day four: porridge potatoes Day five : only beans Day six: Rice and beans Day seven: potatoes and oil Fortunately the stomach does not disclose its contents.
I iterate through the list during the week, I spend only #100 on airtime during the week. I don't call any body and spend #25 daily for 250 mb night sub which I use to apply for jobs. I wait for the following week when it gets exhausted. I use salt as makeshift paste and patronize Hausa black soap for bathing. I've my faze cap to conceal my overgrown hair, though my lord luggard esque moustache have a way of bringing my legs outside. I fetch well water, boil and sieve it, in that way home made Eva water is set, who knows I might own a pure water factory in future so I'm practicing now.
Added plus: My Girlfriend It's a popular opinion on nairaland and the country in general that most Nigerian girls are useless and are out to bring nothing but misfortune and misery to our lives. I beg to disagree because the ones around me (mom, siblings and gf) are anything but useless.
My current girlfriend is a frugal spender and taught me how to spend prudently. She taught me how to cook thereby cutting the amount I spend on food to a significant level. I can give her just #1500 and she would prepare two pots of stew and soup to last me a week. Like my Oga @chatinet would say there are still women that can go to the market with 3k and come back with two nylons.
While other nairalanders open thread open threads about their parasitic girlfriends, mine is actually helping me through a difficult phase in my life. Sadly despite my pitiful standard of living, I still have people that I'm better than and see me as a senior man. Its that bad.
I'm not comfortable with my condition so I'm looking for jobs so as to improve my standard of living. My fellow nairalanders help me to start eating with meat by offering my any job available. I'm a graduate of Statistics/Computer Science (bsc ed) and a web developer.
So the doubting Thomas's here's a breakdown of my 3k weekly spending.
Modified: Obviously some people are still doubting my credibility. I stay in north bank, Makurdi Benue State for those asking.
BluntCrazeMan: With the defection of the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, and the reaction of APGA in reaction to the defection (That the defection of the Deputy Governor is of no consequence), anybody would quickly rush to the conclusion that the seat of the Deputy Governor is an inconsequential Seat altogether. .. But then, is that the real situation? Is that what the Deputy Governor is supposed to be? .. Or is it that the Anambra State Deputy Governor was the one who made himself and his seat inconsequential? .. The answer to the above question is given here below: .. According to the Nigerian Constitution (1999 - as amended): The Deputy Governor assists the Governor in exercising primary assignments. He also acts on assignments as delegated to him by the Governor. And then, he is also eligible to replace a dead, impeached, absent or ill Governor. ......... Note the two italicised words.. “Absent or ill” ... If the Governor is established to be absent from the state even for just one day, the Deputy Governor should take over for that particular day in question. .. The word “Absent” here does not mean a lot of things. It is not a cumbersome word. It is very very simple. .. Once the Governor leaves the boundaries of the state for any reason that not Officially tied to his office as a Governor (even if he leaves the state to go for medical check-up elsewhere outside the state), then he is regarded as “absent”. His Deputy would make his absence official by filing the necessary documents and evidences that would establish the absence, and then he will automatically replace him and fully takes over the duties of the Governor for and on-behalf of the Governor, pending the Governor's return. (A hand-over note is not necessary, since the Constitution didn't specifically state it, since it can be fully established that, at the period in question, the Governor was out of the state for non-official reasons - the Deputy can even follow him to the point of departure, just to have it in his records that the Governor was absent, and that he was there when he left). But if he leaves the state for official reasons, then it is understandable that he is out of the state for official reasons, then his Deputy can be assisting in exercising primary assignments without replacing him. .. Something similar should also apply when the Governor falls sick and could not handle the affairs of the state. The Governor would have to write a hand-over note when he realises that his ill-health is taking a big toll on his duties as a Governor. Nevertheless, if a doctor's report suggests that the Governor would not be capable to perform for some period of time, the Deputy Governor can also replace the Governor for the period of time, as stated in the doctor's report. .. From all indications, it clearly shows that the seat of the Deputy Governor performs two functions. 1). Serves as an assistant to the Governor. 2). Serves as a control apparatus which puts the absence (and every other excesses) of the Governor under check. .. The second function of the Deputy Governor is being neglected most of the times. .. So, Why Was The Deputy Governor Of Anambra State Considered As Inconsequential? The answer is very simple. He was playing cool and very easy going, based probably on some unofficial understanding between him and the Governor. According to the APGA reaction which branded him as “inconsequential”, he was waiting on the Governor to hand over the Governorship Ticket of the party to him on a platter. He should be blamed for making himself so inconsequential, and for not fully assuming his duties. It is so bad that a sitting Deputy Governor, whenever people ask him why things are not moving, would be saying things like: “he had travelled again as usual, let's wait till he returns”, and he would be expecting the people to feel bad towards the Governor for travelling frequently outside the state, whereas him as the Deputy Governor would always be there on ground, yet he cannot do anything to keep the state going. It's a big pity. .. Is The Deputy Governor Supposed To Perform All Duties, And Sign All Documents?? Yes. It's just that, naturally, some documents after going through them might be far above his comprehension.. Then he or she might have to communicate with the Governor before dealing, or keep the document for the Governor himself to come back and deal with it. For some documents, the Governor might have had some of his special interests hidden inside them, but with the understanding between the Governor and the Deputy Governor, the Governor's interest can still be protected by his Deputy, if not, there is absolutely nothing that prevents the Deputy Governor from dealing on any document that comes to the table of the Governor whenever he is serving the duty of replacing the Governor. .. With this, the Deputy Governor would always be looking forward to the Governor's Absence. .. Meanwhile, this situation also applies for the seats of President and Vice President. ***(“He” or “His” inside this write-up represents both genders please... That is, “He” stands for “He or She”, and “His” stands for “His or Her”)*
Martinelli35: Although this did not happen to me, but it brought a very heated argument between i and my fiancée.
I saw a video on Instagram where a man caught his younger brother sleeping with his wife. He saw them but they did not see him, he pretended he did not see anything.
A few days later he told his wife that he wanted to surprise her with a gift and told his brother to help him out, he said he wanted it to be a surprise and so he tied up his wife’s eyes with a cloth and then also told his brother he had a surprise for him too, that one also had is eyes tied up.
He then took them both downstairs and gave them both empty cartons to hold. On one side of the carton he gave his wife he wrote “she cheated on me” and on the other side was the caption “with my brother”. She was very excited at the expected gift and was smiling throughout and giddy with anticipation, meanwhile oga was filming the whole drama.
On his Brother’s carton he wrote “my brother slept with my wife”, of course he was blindfolded and didn’t know what was written or the fact he was been exposed and humiliated to the world. Oga now gathered her jewelry, makeups and other stuffs and started putting into the cartoon. Madam was jumping up and down thinking of how many and heavy the gifts were. At the same time oga had carried all his wife’s property and thrown on the road while videoing the whole scenario play out. I leave you to imagine the shock and humiliation on there faces when the blindfold came off.
Now this brings me to my own scenario. Now I love my fiancée very much and as is customary of me, I send her funny videos I see online. We laugh about it and all. So I sent her the aforementioned video and she laughed and then got serious and asked that if I was the Husband what would have been my reaction, I told her that I won’t be violent, but that would be the end of the marriage. I would be done and I would never forgive her, but that after time must have passed, I would eventually forgive my brother. That is where issue escalated o. She said that would be very unfair of me, that they both deserve equal punishment, I told her that he is my family by virtue of blood and that can never change, though he betrayed me, but we remain family and I won’t want my parents go through the agony of seeing there children apart. But that my wife only became family by virtue of the trust we have towards each other and that once that is gone, nothing holds us together, besides I won’t be able to stay together in the same house again with her.
She just started ranting that it means I would choose my family over her and that I won’t treat her equally and that what am saying says a lot about me and she got really pissed at me. She took it really personally.
My question is, did I do anything wrong? Is my assertion a totally reprehensible one one devoid of logic? Or am I being unfair?
You didn't say anything wrong, I'd do the exact same thing except one. Tell her what I will do!! Sometimes, the truth isn't for everyone.
A lecturer of the department of Nursing, Delta State University, Abraka Miss Fanni Richards has been kidnapped. The unfortunate event happened in the early hours of Wednesday, October 13 on her way from Delta State University Teaching hospital (DELSUTH), Oghara along Sapele/Eku axis. We pray for her safe return.
doffman: Run and tap is one of a professional way to defeat a tall and heavy fighter . Nobody has used it on him that is why you still see him untouchable .
You nuh go try use am? You think these trainers don't think about it? Who is faster than Fury in the heavyweight? Do you notice how Fury changes patterns during a fight? Nobody in the current heavyweight does that! No one!!
roomus: AJ is always slow outta d blocks and wouldn't even get the chance to be patient as wilder's right hand would knock him out cold during the early exchanges...his head movement is d worst in the division.....forget the Wilder who lost to a great fury, Wilder against the others would be a walk in the park
AJ wouldn't even beat usyk in the rematch, am 200% sure...Andy ruiZ lost focus and piled up weight which made him slow in the rematch.....usyk is not like Andy ruiZ and is undefeated like fury, totally dominated cruiserweight before moving up...
Truth is I don't think AJ still wants to box. Hes just in for the payday these days cos ion understand why he still boxes so timid
jneutron4000: says who?? Anyway it will even be hard for Tyson Fury to defeat someone like Dillian Whyte. Wilder can't box neither can he fight all he depends upon is the right hand punch, once that does not gives him the result, he is done. But AJ can box to some certain degree and can fight if he wants too same with Dillian Whyte.
roomus: Spot on...no other boxer would survive that Wilder right hand...even the ref count was kinda slow which aided fury getting back up in round four...
Y'all just want to make excuses for Wilder I get it but not at the Expense of Fury abeg. Fury is top 3 by himself!
If you noticed, fury was putting his weight on him and making him get tired quickly too, that along made him very weak and his punches didn't carry any weight.
Fury beat him with experience.
Fury evolves and that's the beauty part of his game
Kachi4christ: Wilder should just retire his right hand isn't prolific anymore, congratulations to Fury. AJ better beat usyk in rematch else fury will become the undisputed heavyweight champion. Only AJ can stop fury at the moment.
You just want to kill AJ. Let me put it like this, there's no planet or time that AJ will beat Fury!!! AJ and Wilder can punch but bo body in the heavyweight division box like Fury! Nobody!!!
mushroomFarm: Sir, there are certain misconceptions in elementary biology and only a good advanced knowledge of genetics can set things straight. While I cannot dispute or ascertain the legitimacy of the kids, it is worthy to note that you can marry a white woman and have pure white kids (seemingly) obviously they are not entirely white (because they certainly bear the black genes) but genes are not always expressed in the phenotypic form. (Physical form) in fact, as seen in the case of these kids, their mom's white genes seem to be expressive in their phenotypic traits while their dad's black genes is recessive in the first two kids. . So the kids looks white but they are not. The true makeup of anyone can only be studied by looking at their genotype makeups. Their offsprings will certainly include a child in whom Jackson's black trait will be expressive in the phenotypic form.
. Something else is also responsible for this. It is sometimes called point mutation. Point mutations are a large category of mutations that describe a change in single nucleotide of DNA, such that that nucleotide is switched for another nucleotide, or that nucleotide is deleted, or a single nucleotide is inserted into the DNA that causes that DNA to be different from the normal or wild type gene... . Let me make it easier... . Point mutation can make an As and AA parent have an SS child. It can make an SS and AS parent have an AA child. In the case of the former, if the father contributes the 'A' part of his genotype* and the mother contributes the 'S' part, point mutation can have that 'A' part entirely deleted! Of cuz this would be an unfavourable mutation but it doesn't always happen like that. Point mutation can as well make you super intelligent or make you white even when u have a black dad. (Favourable mutation) as expressed in this kids. . Sir do you know poor knowledge of biology and genetics have led to broken homes?? . You need to see fast and furious 9. The two brothers. One is black one is white. Yeah it's a movie but Hollywood directors certainly know how to make movies look real, besides it's a phenomenon they see in America everyday. . #peace
What is the probability that 3kods all have point mutation?
“How can someone say the anointing oil is not a symbol of the Holy Spirit? It is the release of God in the bottle. If it is told to few people so, it is okay. If anointing oil is the Holy Spirit, then Jesus is a lamb walking on four legs. They are symbols, and symbols are not as important,” he said.
