you are igbo....
If being Igbo is all you understood from the write-up, then you are riddled with nepotism!
Yes, I am a full-blooded Igbo who rooted for Obasanjo in 2003, Buhari in 2015 (but not in 2019), and Osinbajo in the APC primaries (I have come in contact with him and he's sound and kind-hearted).
If we are serious the 2023 contest should be squarely between Osinbajo and Peter Obi.
I went for Peter Obi in the election because if Nigeria is my company, I did rather have him as the manager than the other two contenders. The only Nigerian I lose sleep about his capacity is Akinwumi Adeshina.
Tinubu is no doubt intelligent but both his physical and mental health are frail, I think he should give way to younger ones.
My brother got the APC senatorial ticket with Tinubu's influence, which he later lost in the main election.
See, we are more APC than many people that rant here but I could have preferred someone stronger and better than Tinubu!

thats the kick in your black butts you need to let go....
Let go by first of all electing good leaders (your duty as a citizen), transforming your educational system, health and economy!
Do the above and others and naturally you stop being dependent on them!
Just google our annual health and educational spending abroad, or the amount we owe the west due to bad economy, then you know why they feel like our boss!
We don't get rid of them with our words of mouth or motivational talk but by doing the right things!
Many that criticize America here do beg to be given interview dates, let alone travelling to the country!
What is the difference between us and them?
They got the important sectors working while we are here looting, shrouded by religion, nepotism and tribalistic tendencies!
They care more about competence while we care more about the things I bolded above!

Think before you speak bro!
Can you guys actually trigger a diplomatic war with the US and remain the same?
America and their European allies will turn Nigeria upside down.
Where will your President-elect rush for medical health

Maybe Nigeria should ban all Americans and America should ban all Nigerians, they should also trigger their allies to ban Nigerians, let's see where you lots will rush to when your health fails, school, vacation or when Nigeria becomes too hot!
"Trigger the diplomatic tension bro", insensible being!
Have problem with America and let the whole of Europe follow suit, and bunch of other countries!
The President-elect is still resting in one of America's allies!
Do you know how much Nigeria is owing other countries and organisations controlled by the US?
Do you know the amount of help US renders to Nigeria annually

This boy would have been instantly killed if he tried that with a US police officer.

What the hell was going on in his mind
Nigerians always quick to compare with USA when it favours them.
A US police officer won't act like a Nigerian police officer, so the slap will be unwarranted!
Does the slap equate to the amount of torture they dish out to innocent civilians on daily basis?
Please take it easy on the comparison, just like comparing how much they sell a litre of fuel in the US without comparing their minimum wage and other economic realities!!
NPF is one of our major problems in this country!
NB: I don't support slapping an officer under any guise, but sometimes you even feel like doing more.

Celebrities / Re: Saint Obi's Marriage Took Him Away From His Friends And Acting - Zik Zulu by ogaontop(m): 4:53pm On May 16, 2023
yeyebrity:
Hmnn... we all loved St Obi, but I don't think it's right at this time to apportion blames. If he was prevented from seeing his children, then it's because he was too soft to insist. The St Obi I saw on screen had a pleasant aura, charm and charisma that would make almost any woman do whatever he wanted. And no, it wasn't about the character he protrayed but his general mien. He just had it even if he played a bad boy role.

He wasn't the first to marry a financially fulfilled woman, so what's the fuss about? In my opinion, being denied access to his children had nothing to do with the status of his ex wife, but the fact that something deeper may have happened between them, and the woman was just trying to be mean. Like I said earlier, he should have tried to get a court injunction in that regards. Instead, he choose to wallow in his misery. I am positive that his health took a toll on him because he couldn't even afford to take care of himself.

The dude subtly suggested that St Obi abandoned his friends because he felt he had hit the jackpot by getting married to a supposedly rich woman (I wouldn't consider someone who earns between 5 and 10 Million naira monthly rich though). And to all those who suddenly abandon their friends after getting married, y'all should learn a lesson or two from this. Perhaps, if he had still kept in touch with his old pals, they could have tried to get him back on his feet. I hope he finds rest wherever he is now.

To battle for child custody in Nigerian courts, especially with a financially buoyant wife is not easy at all, even with a financially buoyant man is not easy, let alone a woman that will claim you can't take care of the children!
Don't you think his ex-wife (in her "so-called" exalted position) will fight to finish, anything that might undermine her integrity?
And I won't understand the basis of a woman of such pedigree, letting her brothers scale the fence to come and beat her husband?
What insolence

Politics / Re: Peter Psquare Apologises For Seun Kuti's Assault On Policeman, Lagos PPRO Reacts by ogaontop(m): 2:36pm On May 14, 2023
N3TRAL:
Peter Okoye, my favourite, the defense of threat to life doesn't suffice because even a child can string the pieces of the event together based on the short video clip of Seun Kuti assaulting a commissioned officer of the law.

It doesn't add up that a man with a gun threatened your life and you point fingers at him, insult him and slap him.
What's more life threatening than slapping a very calm policeman?

In the US, Seun's body would have been riddled bullets.

The policeman must get compensation through civil litigation after the criminal case instituted by the State sends Seun to prison.

You can't come out of your AC chilled Mercedes and assault a public servant labouring day and night under the sun and in the rain to feed his wife and babies without dire consequences.
You did not read where he said emotions gets better of us when in certain situations, I totally agree with him because one can act under reflex!

South Africa, giant of Africa? Lol. Looks like you're unaware how sly Africans are except Nigeria that is plain and open. Don't be surprised if privately behind the scenes, South Africa is on her knees pleading with America, while publicly mouthy. Nigeria inadvertently humiliated America by stepping into Liberia when America was prevaricating over what to do. It is arguable that the terrorism Nigeria faces today is the result of that affair. Cross America, as an African state, expect distablity. Nations in Africa know the score. Nigeria is an immensely brave Nation.
You may not be wrong on this, they knew something about the terrorism in Nigeria.
Our economy and mismanagement is actually shaming us, if not, we call their bluff and move ahead. They have made us so dependent!!

SA is the real giant of Africa but they should stay away from the Russia/US rift to avoid a repetition of what is happening in Ukraine.
Nigeria should also support Russia with "juju" or "prophecies" since that's what we know how to do best!

Crime / Re: Hippopotamus Kills A Pregnant Woman In Makurdi by ogaontop(m): 7:19am On Apr 22, 2023
chatinent:
The Benue river consumes more people per year than how birds pluck fishes from the river. And unfunnily enough, a friend from Wurukum told me it only takes non-indigenes. And this rumour is lowkey popular around that North Bank side and Wurukum area after the bridge. I lost a colleague to it too, and that was when other colleagues began to narrate their loss stories too, and stories they heard.

One story that transpired that very time I was there when my colleague drowned was that some other persons went there to swim and the river came out to the bank where they were and swallowed one of them. He wasn’t even swimming! It just came at him, held him as a friend would hug his longtime friend he’s just seen, and took him beneath.

Even though I don't generally believe in superstitions, I am aware that traditional powers are still practiced nowadays. And that juju exist. But this story? “I don’t believe it.” My uncertainties were put to rest when I witnessed firsthand the community's attempt to dispel the enigma behind the unending number of fatalities by calling upon the services of a native wizard.

This indigenous wizard dove into the water and transformed into a crocodile as he swam downstream. Omo, na so  I begin go house sharp sharp. I fess check my chamber for my body if anything miss cos I no come understand the touching touching body for the crowd. I dey form rugged then but e never reach wetin I see. The next information was that he had gone to visit the river goddess and all that.  What happened? The result was that in order to stop these deaths and to pacify her, sacrifices had to be made.

Even though I lived on property that bordered the river, you can take my word for it that I never in a million years went near it to swim, fish, paddle the canoe, or even wash, regardless of how intense the pressure from my peers was.

You can call me hydrophobic. You can also call me delusional. I don't care if you brand me a coward if it has anything to do with this issue; I'll attend the cowardice coronation with pride, palm wine, a male goat, and with my overworn isi agu.✌️

Go and start writing stories, your talent is also there!

I have become a tribalist as well. I will give you all a taste of your own medicine.
