For sure the matter will have to go through court proceedings and they will lose the case in court. Their is no where in the world that you will force people to contest an election although I haven't seen that in the new electorial law but people could explain out of context. The law cannot say people don't have right not to withdraw. It will be madness to put that in the law.

Fake news. It is not possible to remove a candidate at this point. Even if the candidate decides to pull out, INEC will still recognize that person and award votes to him/her, nothing will change.
